I really enjoyed meeting all of you as well. What a great lunch bunch!

Hi everyone. Sorry I missed our luncheon this month. Melia I did not know you were going to be there too. I still don't feel well today. Not sure what it is.
I wish I could have met you Lily and Brenda S. We need the picture labled so I know which is which.
I think that is the first lunch I missed. Boo hoo. Hope to catch you all in Sept.
-
Brenda (adnerb) is sitting in front of Amy (lily)
We missed you too. Hope you feel better soon.
-
Curious - has anyone heard from Brenda? I know her surgery was yesterday. I hope she's resting peacefully. She was pretty nervous.
Any word?

Brenda S. hasn't posted yet, but I'm sure she's in that post-recovery haze. Let's hope she gets released soon to her own comfy bed (and stacks of pillows!).
BTW - I sure enjoyed our Lunch Bunch. Two new members and a couple of missing ones turned up (who me?) !!! I will try to make every effort again in Sept. Hey, I may have my scooter by then - my Stage IV group on this board is doing a cyber-fudraiser. Isn't that awesome??? Every step I take with my walker is putting my legs at risk of additional fractures and that is NOT a good thing. A scooter will help me be mobile despite my osteonecrosis!
Shirl is headed to Alaska on yet another cruise - I'll bet she's cool!

OH SHOOT,Melia is there, and I didn't get to see her WAAAAAAA
Well, Saturday night my step-granddaughter asked if we could watch her 4 month old kitten after our vacation for 2 weeks, I was not thrilled, I have a dog and cat, but I said okay! Then, she called Sat and asked to bring him over to meet Cleo and Dusty. I said fine, in she came with sand box, blanket, food???? We were leaving the next day for almost two weeks, with a grandson watching our two, which is enough for anybody.
I didn't know what to say, so I just sat there. Well, the poor little thing (4 months old) , and was PETRIFIED of Cleo. He wouldn't eat, drink or use his sandbox. A real mess, he is soooo tiny. The next morning I just called her and told her I didn't want to be responsible for what might happen since I wasn't even going to be home. I was really pissed.
I got so upset over the whole thing, I just couldn't make the luncheon. I am so sorry. It IS cold, and so far, since we have been here before, I LOVE it. I will not miss again.
Hugs and kisses to all, Shirlann

I was just going through some files in my computer and happened to take a gander at all our past pictures. What a wonderful bunch of ladies we have had pass through and join our group. We are all so different and come from different backgrounds. Most likely none of us would have ever met had we not been joined by this one common thread. I just really enjoy being a part of the San Diego Lunch Bunch. I can't believe how much I miss you guys having missed our August lunch. So it is September now. What is everyones schedule looking like for this month? I am in need of a Lunch Bunch infusion.

Hi All, I live in East San Diego County and was diagnosed with BC in Aug . I am going to try to make the luncheon on the 27th. I may be in N Cal but we'll see. I am so glad there is a group of you out there. I am pretty new to the discussion boards. Can anyone tell me what the rules for this thread are? Where is the best place in the forum index for questions, to ask for advice and to vent?

Girls, I will be seeing PS tomorrow and ONC on Friday. Will know more about path then. I have 6 drains, most of which I hope to be out tomorrow so I can finally take a shower. The pain seems to be getting better. I am so overwhelmed with appreciation.
Other than the above, I am copying/pasting the generic note I wrote on the 5th. Take care.

I’m here!
I had no idea that the old hospital had already been renovated to look like a 5 star hotel. Grand piano at the lobby, private suites, remote controlled everything from bed to iPod music to widescreen hd tv, to light dimmers, to blinds. Blinds opened up to a view of the city.
There were 2 nurses round the clock at my beck and call. The icing was Skeeter, a 5-year-old Pomeranian, not too much bigger than my palm, assigned to sit on a towel by my tummy. He only looked at me when I started to massage his almost non-existent ears, then eyelids dropped halfway. He was my friend forever after that.
Though they treated everyone the same way I felt like a queen, and I need to thank them for that.
I was there 3 days and 2 nights, my brothers and sisters in law were the only visitors besides my immediate family. Visitors could spend the night if they wanted to. They were not very strict with hours.
Today is my first full day at home and the first day I am starting with no pain!!
I have figured out how to put pressure on the thing on my chest to lessen movement pain.
I have 6 drains and they all seem to be working. DH and son are very good at emptying and making records.
DH has been cooking meals for me. He will try to shampoo my hair in a little while.
I am actually on the road to healing.
