GORGEOUS jacket Tina! I love it! I want it! I need it!
-
Gee, thanks. It wasn't all that expensive, either, just $88.00
So, ideas for what to wear with it?
-
Wow, that is really cute! I like the bell sleeves. I actually need a new trenchcoat for the fall months. I have a winter white really cute shortish one, but my longer black London Fog (that I bought at TJ Maxx) has seen better days. I just love this fall fashion.
Have you ladies seen the "new" Ann Taylor? Pretty much the same, but more modern I suppose. Very nice blouses and skirts. Not new are the prices, they are the same - skirt $100 - $120, blouse $88 to $100. At least the prices didn't go up.

Here are some outfits from Ann Taylor. Sharp! I love the one with the skinny jeans, leather coat, short booties. So much $$ though. boo.
-
Damn link doesn't work but I poked around. Like the Biker jacket! What's the name of the coat you reference?
Rayon/wool ruffle top great!
-
Tina, love the jacket! I think it would look absolutely adorable with a black & white striped boat neck top, dark straight jeans, a funky necklace, silvery ballet flats and a great bag in either red or yellow, to pop.
-
Darned link. I meant the biker jacket when mentioning the leather coat. Maybe this will work. This look is great (third from the left, top row), but maybe with a red or burgandy cardigan.
-
That worked really well. Here is the picture of the outfit.
-
Cute, Raye!!
-
LOVE that jacket, Tina.
Raye, love that outfit. You could wear a burlap sack, tho', and look great.
-
I love surfing this thread.. though I have nothing much to share..
-
Raye, love the total look. Perfect for your figure. As I said, I love the jacket.
I've noticed tons of booties again this year AND short boots with heels. Makes me want to go out and buy some boots even though I hardly got any use out of my shoe booties from last year. I saw some Born western type boots with heels that would look great with jeans. They are the Dani boots. I hope this link works. http://www.bornshoes.com/Product.aspx?ProductID=4575
I also like these. http://www.zappos.com/product/7549903/color/134198
I suppose I should buy some tall black boots, too. I bought, on a whim, a calf-length black knit skirt a month or so ago. Gored, fits great, but I don't look good in that length without a boot. Should I buy flats or maybe, I'm thinking, a chunky heel?
Farila, I wish you would talk about fashion in India. It's what you know and I, for one, am VERY interested.
-
I'm not a fan of the "biker" jacket as I had a motorcycle about 15 years ago and to me the jackets are a safety issue, not a fashion statement. Real biker jackets are made of a much heavier leather that should withstand body skids of about 150 feet. See...kind of takes the romance out, doesn't it?
-
Tina - I love both pairs of boots, but the second pair are my favorite! so cute. And Born makes the most comfortable footwear. I bought a pair of tall flat black boots last fall and wore them all of the time, with skirts, with dresses and with jeans. Really got a lot of wear out of them. And there are my furry black boots that I didn't wear as much, but did wear with leggings and long sweaters. I just bought a new pair of boots the other day. I will post the pic, but am thinking of taking them back and buying some booties instead.
Farila - I agree with Tina, share some of your Indian fashion with us. Your avatar picture is gorgeous and your pink dress - sari? is beautiful.
Barbe, the jacket not being functional is no problem with me. I still think it's cute - fashion is just plain silly sometimes. *wink*
I am going to find those boots I got a DSW the other day to post. Be right back.

Here is the link to the boots I bought the other day that may be traveling back to the store; I hope this link works better than the Ann Taylor link.
-
Oh, those are cute. I'd prefer the buckle be not so big or so shiny, though.
Thanks for enabling me to buy more shoes/boots.
-
The buckle is not as shiny as it appears in the photo. It is more of a brushed nickel look.Ah, don't know if I should keep or not. got a bargain on them, as I had the DSW coupon.
You are quite welcome. Get them both!
-
I've had one pair of dress boots in my life. I loved them, but burned up in them. I have looked at them, of course, and they are beautiful, but I just know I wouldn't wear them. I admire those who look so stylish in them.
-
Very cute, Raye!!! I have too many boots for a woman living in south Florida!! I LOVE boots, must be because I'm originally from L.I. and we wore boots all the time. I love a longer skirt with a boot - one of my favorite favorite looks, now this is going back to the late 70's - but it was to me the prettiest thing, were those mid-calf length plaid skirts in fall colors - gold, rust, brown, etc. with knee length boots, a turtleneck sweater and I believe the skirt had a matching little cape. I loved that!!! It was my special outfit for chorus and other things (I was in middle school and high school) until we moved to Florida, and hello heat!
-
Hmmm, those boots are screaming Robin Hood to me. I'm not trying to be so critical Raye, as I LOVE most of what you post, but maybe my fashion radar is off....
I love the second booties Tina posted. Here's my question though....if you wear a skirt, can you wear the short boot? Can skin show above them or are they just for pants? I could almost wear boots full-time up here....sigh.
-
I love those second booties, too, barbe, but was wondering how they would look when you sit down and cross knees and pants hike up. I suppose the answer is that one must wear knee socks or tights with them. Same for wearing with skirts. I have seen many photos in fashion mags of models/celebs with that height bootie and tights with short skirts.
The first booties I love but are maybe a bit too Western for me here in MA. LOL Still, I love them.
Now, I am wondering if I do buy some flat black tall boots, if they should be regular leather or slouchy suede. Any thoughts? Of course, they would be useless on our winter streets here in N.E. Plus, everything is salted so staining is terrible with suede. Even leather is touch and go but easier to clean and then polish. Still, I like the look of slouchy suede boots. Softer than leather.
Well, I'm off to the ps for another post-op and maybe some stitches out. It's been 2 weeks since surgery. I do have fluid sloshing around my back so he'll probably have to aspirate it. Owie! I am wearing another new peasant blouse for the occasion. Covers a multitude of sins.
-
barbe was a biker chick, barbe was a biker chick
nyaa nya na nya na
-
I had the bike...
....I was a chick...
....so I guess I was a biker chick!
I always thought they were the ones on the BACK of the bike.
-
Barbe - To clarify, I like the look the model is wearing, but not the boots. Naw, not my style. Too sedate to be honest. Yes, something about those booties throws my fashion radar into overdrive, like - something is not right here. I found some booties last night, but not sure about them either. I also found the cutest cutest trench coat for $39.00!!! The TJ tax said "you would pay $280," which may be a bunch of baloney, but it is a nice coat. Vertigo Paris is the branch I think??
Also, got some cute Hello Kitty pjs. I love to buy pjs.
Yes, the booties can be worn with tights and skirt, dress or with socks under trousers, jeans. Cute look.
-
Oh, Tina, tall boots. Depends on the look you are going for. I think the slouchy suede boot is a bit more casual, while the leather is a bit more straight, simple and serious, while still being very stylish and cute.
-
Here is the coat, but mine has black and white pattern inside instead of the brown.
-
LOVE the trench! Always a classic and so sexy...
-
Are fishnet stockings, a garter belt and a whip involved? Just kidding. That is a great trench! Love it!
PS pulled 40 cc from one area and 15 cc from another this AM. Ahhhhh. What a relief it is. It's the little things in life.
Have a great weekend, ladies.
-
haha! Barbe, I just realized you think MY boots look like Robin Hood boots, not the ones from Ann Taylor! HA. What a dummy I am. Well, those I do like and am keeping!
Ahh yes, what a relief, I remember when I had my masts - oh the sloshing. I always felt better after my weekly aspirations.
-
Anyone know where to get a knock-off Pandora type bracelet where the shipping isn't more than the bracelet?? A woman had a table set up at the hospital where I work and I bought a bunch of beads but she only had really long bracelets.
I'm off to Brazil in a few weeks and I was reminded that I get to stock up on underwear!!! They have the best cut of undies there - half-way between a brief/high cut and a thong. It kind of goes up across the middle of the butt cheek. Seems like it would be really uncomfortable - I saw them on women (they really kind of flaunt panty-lines there) for months before I finally bought some and found out how comfy they are! Psyched!
Here's a funny site! http://www.chesterfieldsoftwear.com/shop/category.aspx?catid=4
The Selmark Brezilien 7804 in the 2nd row is kind of the one I like for every day but I would never spend $28 on underpants!!
