Well, I leave for a week or so and everyone is having surgery! Gawd, Tina, yours sounds to be a real biggun! Will this be your last one for recon purposes? It certainly should be, right? Well, at least your spirits sound great (as always, I might add!).

Raye...I didn't see the pic of you in the dress, but here's what I'll say about VS...unpredictable on any clothing other than lingerie and swimsuits! I have a few sundresses that I like, but their shorts and jeans just fit weird! I think that if you're at all iffy about the dress, you should return it. They do have a special that ends on Sunday where you can get 40% off anything in their "endless summer" collection and there are tons of choices. I might order (yet another!) a swimsuit for my vacation on the river. It comes in plaid and that sounds very "river-like" to me (huh???! ). Anyway, use the code 40SUMMER if you want to order.

Saw my surgeon today.  Cried.  Needed a meltdown.  She's trying me on Provigil for the fatigue.  But of course there was a small problem when I got to the pharmacy -- supposed to start on 50 mg but it only comes in 100 mg pills, so they have to get her to call back & say yes, give her 100 mg pills & break in half.  Cripes.  

Going out to dinner later & I'm ordering a gooey dessert.

I'm a bigger bag-ho than you Dotti. I must have 75!!! Lot's of vintage ones too. I sold 17 of my enid collins ones to one lady!

Marin, have you not gone down that river yet?

Hi, all!  Well, the gown arrived yesterday and I tried it on - beautiful!!  It fit but maybe a little too well, even with boning in the bust area, it was a little too snug, so I called and am having them send me the next size up, and I'll return this one.  I can get it altered to adjust anything being too loose.  Length was perfect and I love the color.  Now I know what shoe heel to find.  My sister has a couple of my great aunt's vintage beaded clutches, and she's going to meet me at my hotel when I arrive and we'll see which one will work the best - that will be perfect - Iove vintage.

I did get the VS boyfriend cropped jeans - they fit perfectly - run a little large, which is very comfortable, and when rolled up at the hem to the ankle, look adorable with all shoes.  Need to get a pair of those booties everyone's wearing.  I do agree, VS is good with t-shirt sizes, and underwear, of course, but the dresses tend to run small, they really like their things to "fit" a little on the snug side.

Thanks Sheila - as I said, the cami is just beautiful and would love to see you work your wonders for ladies like me.

Marin - I agree totally. The dress is actually in my car waiting for me to complete the return receipt and off she goes. Yes, the bathing suits are perfect, as are the T shirts in my opinion. I've also bought the turtle necks, but they shrink up to nothing. And you know what, I think plaid seems river like as well! Country type of look.

Kathi - I am sorry you cried at the doctor. Geez, do I know what that is like. I hope you are feeling better and that the gooey dessert did the trick! Barbe and Kathi - maybe I want to look sweet! HA. Only sometimes *WINK*.

OH Sh**. I see my post already posted as I continue to type about our important topic of fashion! what the heck? Oh, perhaps it didn't post. ?

Anyway, I found the cutest jeans!!! The brand is called William Rast and it is Justin Timberlake's line. I haven't actually found them, just found them online. I was out Saturday night and this girl had the CUTEST jeans on, well I asked her what kind they were (they say the best way to find out about a woman's style is to ask her) and she enlightened me. Only problem: no retailers around my Clevelandly Dawg Pound area sell them, so I have to buy them online. Free shipping, but breaking out the measuring tape will be part of this purchase, as I have no idea how to order by waist size. What a chump I am.  

Yes, I remember the curvy jeans had a short crotch. OUCH.

ugh, yeah, I was trying not to shout out the price of the jeans. I may not even get them, but if I do, here is my thought: I have two pairs of jeans in my closet - they are the ONLY jeans I wear and I've had them for one-three years. One is a pair of Levi's and the other is that pair of Nine West I showed  you guys last year, I believe. Oh, and a white pair of Lucky's (from TJ Maxx) that I only wear in the summer. So, if I buy these jeans, I will have three pairs; one of which (the one pair) I will wear for the next couple of years. Sort of nets out? Justification at it's finest. Bottom line (heh) is yes, they are quite expensive! BUT not as expensive as True Religions.

You certainly are worth it.

Now, I have a question about the leopard flats---I wear a lot of black pants and blk, wht, or colorful tops---any thing I Shouldn't wear them with--and I'm guessing that the shoes would be the only animal print I'd wear with any outfit.

Help me with the rules, Ladies, I've been so conservative most of my life.  LOL, I heard that after 60, women wear more red and other colors---must the the old thing about--what the hell!

Dottie - I believe you can wear the leopard flats with almost anything - just don't overdo. For example, a black outfit with the leopard flats. Or a black pair of pants with a red shirt and the leopard flats. Almost anything, but I wouldn't go crazy with tons of color (and I know you wouldn't anyway - so is mute point) and then the leopard flats. Winter white, some gold or silver jewelry and the leopard flats - now that sounds cute (I know, not much color in that outfit).

Tina - Hue is my favorite brand for tights and socks, but I do believe they have elastic on the top. How can they not fall down if the socks do not have elastic at the top? Another brand might be DKNY, I know I've gotten their tights before and loved them. Also Target. Not a big fan of their clothes, but I have some nice pairs of socks from there, but alas, they have elastic at the tops. Maybe they also carry socks that do not have elastic at the top?  Good luck.

Oh, elastic allover is fine just not the extra tight line at the top.  Like an overall rib pattern with elastic is good but those socks that are smooth regular knit then have the band at the top are bad for me.

Girls, I have to tell you that I am so excited about the latest flap results!  I can now really wear anything and any neckline and no one would be the wiser.  Lovely little swell for cleavage.  I was never well-endowed and this is perfect.  The doc did say when he saw me last that although it was a big surgery it was well worth it.  I am so pleased.  This has major fashion implications.  And posture.  Don't have to worry about bending over anymore.

I know this is all somewhat frivolous but it makes me really happy.  Thanks for listening.

ahh Kathi - that is wonderful wonderful news!! I am so happy that your medicine is helping, the fatigue is gone, you are sleeping well and not another mam for an entire year!!! Fabulous news girl!! Way to go. Now, this Therapy shop - do they have a website? I will check it out and advise.

Tina - Happy for you too! And glad you are excited with your results. I am soooo interested in your procedure. I wanted that exact procedure (but bilaterally), but as I've mentioned - no free flaps for moi. Although sometimes my chest feels so tight with merely the double mast, I can't imagine having more work done to that area, but am very intrigued by it. Maybe - when you have time - you can send me a PM with the details?,but only if you are comfortable with that. If not, no worries.  

Michele - love the sweater. In fact, I have one just like it! Same color. Last spring I bought a dark fushion colored sweater in the same style from Ann Taylor for $19.99 - one of their "final sales." No returns.

Haven't decided on the jeans. I really can't justify that cost, although I tried mightily yesterday. They've got to have them at Nordstroms here - they have them online. Maybe if I could try a pair on and fall in love...(with the jeans).

 Just wanted to mention that in Walmart (and maybe Target) they carry crew socks that are made for diabetics so they don't have elastic on the top (They're just like regular crews except no elastic). I think they only come in white and black though. I'm not sure of the brand but they're usually in the same vicinity as all the socks.

Dotti, I'm not that far behind you.  Grad HS in '65 and I remember those socks and poodle socks, too! 

Friday I have to go in for another post-op visit and will do the rounds starting with Target, looking for socks.  I visited the Hue website and will order directly if I can't find anything locally.

Here's a pic of one of my new jackets.  It's black cotton sweatshirt material.  The sleeves are long on me; they're supposed to be 3/4 length and they come down to my knuckles, so I will shorten.  Minor job.

You cannot tell from the pic but the buttons are "sterling" silver, kinda looking like Tyrolean.  I think this jacket might look cute with dark wash jeans.  Some kind of heeled shoes.  Any ideas for me to look smashing?
