Hi Bren..and Brenda..Madison and everyone..
good to see so many familiar faces...
I was so happy to see Mazer again...long time...
-
Lisa, could we ever forget Mazer. See that as the anniversary approaches we all kind of drop in and we are flooded with memories. We still have heartache for those we have lost and those that continue to have problems and trying times. Had our laughs too.
Welcome Saskie. May this thread help you through some troubled days as it has many in the past.
HollyAnn - so many lost jobs for so many. I pray a job opens for you. No one would hire me because of my age - that is for sure.
Tossing on another log - kind of stormy right now but should pass soon. Bring your afghan or blanket, a chair and come sit in the circle around the fire. I dont' get here often but tonight is a night for memories and wrapping our arms around new folks that have found their way here.
Blessings to all

I thought this was a support thread.....But I guess I was wrong.....You all ran Foots off and that is a shame.......This was supposed to be a place to come for comfort, prayer and just plain comeraderie.....Then along come the people who push others away......I will not be back here since you did this.....Foots is a good friend of mine and I am hurt by the behavior here...Very UN-Christian like behavior.......GOD BLESS YOU ALL........I will pray for you.......
-
I am happy i tune in to this site. There is lots of support and a bit of fun and joking because laughter is the best medicine. you need a sense of humour to get through all these treatments and their side effects
I have just thawed out some hot dogs for a light evening meal for my hubby and I while I am cooking them over the campfire I will pretend i am sitting there around the big campfire enjoying conversation and laughs with you gals.
Love Saskie

Hello Friends,
August 18th will mark nine years from my dx. I came to this site in 2004 as I was preparing for reconstructive surgery. It was a place of welcome, support, advice and friendship. It has been through some changes since then, but I am so happy to see that it has remained (due to the devotion of loyal posters) a place of acceptance, support, friendship for all who travel this road, regardless of where you started. Happy birthday to us.

The Circle was formed to support and encourage many who were going through difficult times. Prayers are always welcome here but are not forced to someone who is non-religious. I read that the circle was to be an exclusive prayer thread. Prayer comes in many different ways, beliefs and acts. Many who come to the circle pray; many who come aren't. There is nothing wrong with either group.
Starting a Prayer Circle was a wonderful idea. I'm sure you will have many come and post there.

Footie, where are you, I need you to be here and hold my hand and pray with me. I am throwing a log of friendship on the fire and sending out positive vibes for everyone. God loves us all. The bible tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Not all of our neighbors are Christians but we will love them all. I have some hot apple cider to sip and a basket of goodies to share. There should be no bickering on this thread for any reason. It is full of Gods love and support and our love and support for each other.
-
The prayer circle is for anyone, religious or non religious....I revised my post on that..I did not make it clear to start..Thank you Cheryl for pointing that out........
I pray too liz....... -
Perhaps all the newcomers to the Wagon Circle thread ought to read the Welcome to the Wagon Circle thread. It shares the underlying love and fundamentals of this thread.
Everyone ... Another way to discover what the Wagon Circle truly means is to read the first couple of hundred pages. You will find many old friends, and many who are gone now.
I was thinking of DebC today and what she would make of this. Her faith was stronger than any I've ever seen. She would never think of excluding anyone based on their faith. I miss her so much today and wish she was still with us. I was thinking of all the wonderful meals she was cooking and posting about, and her beautiful children and husband .. and bear hunting and protecting the chickens ...
The Wagon Circle is not about Christians being tolerant of nonChristians. Please, people .. this thread is about loving one another, sharing the campfire and circling the wagons. All newcomers are welcome, regardless of what their wagon looks like.
Over the years we've loved together, laughed together, cried together, and bickered some too.
But no one is ever excluded.
Cherryl and Liz .. I'm so happy that some of the old timers have come back to say Happy Birthday to the Wagon Circle.
love,
Bren

I have not excluded anyone for any reason You say no one is ever excluded but it certainly sounds like you want me to be excluded. I am amazed no one has been posting here but mostly footie and its like you mock her religious rights. I'm not missing any point, what we had here was love and support. I don't know what you mean by excluding anyone but I do know when I am not wanted and not welcome. I really thought the past was water under the bridge but I think some people just like to cause trouble but Ok, BinVA you got it. I will not be back. Thanks for you underlying love and fundamentals.
-
Spar .. it's sad that you feel that way. I don't want to exclude you. I have never mocked Foots, I think she is a lovely, kindhearted woman with a heart of gold and deep abiding faith.
Please, don't misinterpret what I wrote.
What I said is that ALL are welcome here ... believers and nonbelievers. I can't make it any more simple than that. And that we respect each others choices and beliefs.
This is an example of what I mean .. I would never send my Jewish friends a Christmas card with a picture of the Nativity on it. I would send her a Happy Holidays card. The same goes for my friends who don't believe in God. And to the Christians who believe in the Nativity, I would send that card to them. It's not about compromising my beliefs, but being respectful of theirs.
I hope you change your mind Spar ... and Footie too.
love,
Bren

Bren,
Well said, my FRIEND, with a heart of gold.

Cherryl..you and I must have been diagnosed the same year, 2000...back then I think
the only place I found was WebMD for a chat ...but then, I wasn't very Web savy back
then...maybe I still am not...anyhow nine years sounds good doesn't it...
Brenda..how goes it with your DH..?? sending hugs across the miles..
Hi to all ..it is especially nice so close to the anniversary...and look we have made
almost 1,000 pages..wow...
Throwing a log on the fire...as I have been doing for many a night...
Hugs all around,
-
Lisa,
I didn't realize we were dx'ed the same year. Yes, nine is a good number and going strong. And, by the way, I loved the pics you posted of the Midway. My BIL served on it 1987-90. I spent three weeks in Yokohama with my sister in Feb '88 and had the most wonderful time. Martin referred to the Midway as the "Skidway". I'm not really sure why, so I'll have to investigate that. Thank you for all your wonderful pictures.
Tossing another log on the fire.

Cherryl, my 4 year anniversary date is Wed. Didn't realize our dates were so close.
Lisa, thanks for asking and thanks for the hug.. For several days now he has been very dizzy, seems to comes in waves and his resting pulse rate was quite high and went even higher when he stood. BP was Ok - higher than it had been. We went to the hospital to have some blood drawn and he is still anemic but other labs were ok. Hoping tomorrow is the beginning of better days.
Another day coming to a close - Sunday at that. WIshing everyone a good week. If you are having test, chemo, rads, or just difficult days pray that brighter days are waiting just for you.

I've been reading this thread for awhile and enjoyed it very much. I have even read back through some of the older pages and it seemed like such a nice place with plenty of camaraderie at some points in time. I've read enough of it to see a pattern that made me feel as though I had to post. It appears that when some people make themselves comfortable here and become quite inspiring to others they suddenly delete posts and leave. Perhaps I missed the page that contained the rules for posting on this particular thread. I was dismayed to find a particular poster suddenly leave after I had enjoyed reading her postings. May I suggest that some of the old timers, as it was put, read back through the pages and take a quick refresher course of the fundamentals themselves. I will take my leave and with disappointment will not read here again. Thank you for your attention.
-
Hello Chemosabi!!!
-
I think it is sad that some girls are leaving. Foots and Spar and Hollyann, I hope you come back here and post and find comfort.
I started this thread and it is for everyone. If you want to pray, that is great. If you want to howl at the moon, that is great, too.
It is for everyone on this journey who is having a rough time or who wants to help someone else through a rough time.
If you find your strength through God or the Sun and want to share that strength with us, I don't see what is wrong with that.
A lot has happened in these three years. We have met many, lost many, mourned many.
Life is too short to have discord. That is not what this place is for. This is a place for healing.
Socal, Brenda, bren, Liz, Madison, Nicki, Shokk, Susan, Cheryll, Sheri, it is good to see old names here again. All of you who are just joining the Circle, how great! Welcome, pick a nice spot for your wagon, some sit by the fire, smell the mountain air, and find comfort from the friendships formed here.
Life is beautiful and so are all of you.
Love,
g

Good morning circle..the sun is just coming up here on the West Coast

I might add that there was a snowstorm as we entered...but
good morning Sunshine..

I must comment on the irony that has played out here in the circle the last couple of days......the one person that has to be one of the kindest persons here at bc.org would be asked to leave a thread that she has been a member of from the beginning............the one person that has stayed completely out of the foolishness and mayhem that erupted here in the circle and many other threads and as a person that chooses not to be a believer acts more Christen then most of the women here that proclaim their faith including myself.....................now see my Christen sisters it is this kind of behavior that makes nonbelievers wonder about what is really in our hearts.........
I personally have not been a very good circle girl in more ways then one.......but this thread is the foundation of my breast cancer survival..........and yes I am bad about posting on a regular basis but this is the one place I always return when I am lonely, scared, wondering what my future holds.........I find it reassuring and comforting.........I don't post much but I always read.........
so please ladies don't come in and try to change our wagon circle.....it is a place for believers and nonbelievers alike...........for women and men that have breast cancer or for someone has a loved one that has been dx and needs someone to talk to..........this is a place for finding others that understand what they are living through........
And of course pictures of our Cowboys that help out around the campfire are never a bad thing........Shokk
-
AMEN - oops. (:>)
-
Hey Spice girl good luck today..........may your markers come down and all reports are encouraging...........we all (heart) you............Shokk
-
Jo is it sweet ice tea?.........Shokk
-
I think I will bring some fried okra, fresh sliced home grown tomatoes and some purple hull peas........but Jo there are some Yankee girls here so we have got to bring them something.......maybe some fresh sliced Salome and rye bread and a bad attitude.....(just kidding)..............ha.........Shokk
-
Yes Jo I will need lots of lemon and real sugar......not any of that sweetner stuff.........Shokk
-
No one was running anyone off this thread. Nannie asked for clarification on a certain post, and it was taken the wrong way. Ladies, come back. No reason to act this way. I have my own beliefs. Jesus was an alien.....it's the only thing that can mesh science and religion in my mind, but then again, I'm a kook with a wide open perspective.
-
Yum.................I'm coming to eat
-
Jo the Civil War is over????????????...........
.................not down here below the Dixie Line..........
Hey Blue don't worry........I think everyone knows that they are welcome..........so what are you bringing to the campfire.....let's see......you are an Italian Canadian..............maybe some Poutine with a side of spaghetti...........ha...............Shokk
-
Enough all ready - you all are making me hungry!!!!
