Hope everyone had a great 4th.  Weather was a bit cloudy, but the clouds went away for the fire works.  This morning is again a beautiful  MI morning.

Tomorrow I go to the PS for marking for DIEP.  I can hardly believe it is finally here.

    Have a great day

I live in Jackson.  Newly diagnosed with stage 0 DCIS.  Had first lumpectomy on May 27, 2009.  When I had my mammogram before starting radiation it showed calcs so am having a reexcision on this Wednesday, Oh Joy.  Hopefully the mammogram after that will be clear of calcs so I don't have to have more invasive surgery.

Peg119-welcome to our MI group of friends!

Wings-congrats...he is so cute!  I can't wait...she is due in four days!

Denise-thanks for the update on your DH.

    Diane-good luck!

Everyone else-the weather sure has been mild.  I just got back from a 10 day vacation, and it rained 8 of those days!!!  Only 45 minutes on the beach...ugh!  It has to get better...right???  Good news, my daughter is moving back to MI after a 6 months living out of state.  I am so happy!!!

I had my reexcision last Wednesday to remove the calcifications.  Saw the surgeon today, path report was negative but so was last one.  He is pretty sure he got it all but won't really know until mammogram in a few weeks.  I go for genetic counseling/testing in a couple weeks. Golfed last night even though it was a little uncomfortable and have volleyball on Thursday.

Are you going to have rads after the mammo?

Yes.  Providing it is clear and doesn't show calcifications.  If it shows calcifications I am not sure what the next step will be since the radiation/oncologist won't do radiation until all the calcifications are gone and the surgeon doesn't really feel the need to operate anymore.  I am certainly trying to keep postitive thoughts that the mammogram will be clear.

Checking in to see if Chris is a Grandma yet?!

Welcome Peg - I live in Hudson and shop in Jackson often. Hoping you can make it to one of our get togethers. Your DX was similar to mine DCIS with re-excision for clear margins and radiation, declined Tamoxifen treatment. Golf and volleyball? You go girl!

Diane - Thinking your DIEP was scheduled soon? How are you doing?

Anyone up for Pie eating contest? haha Actually would like to meet up in Ann Arbor on Zeeb Road exit 169 off 94 (Nancy is that correct?) at Grand Traverse Pie Company. Going to throw out a couple of dates and see if anyone is interested July 25 August 1 or 2. Unfortunately at this time my Grandma schedule is limited.

HELLO to the rest of the GANG!

Eat some pie for me, please. I'd like a piece of cherry. (It's cherry season here in WI where we're 'playin-for-the-summer'....... just wave, we're right across the lake. LOL

Wings - Little Zac is a doll!

I'm too far behind to catch up with everyone but wouldn't miss the Pie!  The 2nd?  It is on I-94 and Zeeb.  I'll look at the exit number on Monday.

I'm told I missed my mammogram last year.  After I had a fit that they lost my records, I came to the realization that it was my fault.  How the heck did that happen?  This month is one of those where I should just go to bed and put the covers over my head.  I'm healthy and in the scheme of things, I shouldn't sweat the small stuff.  That small stuff sure adds up!

Wow - I'm so jealous - I can't imagine forgetting my next mammo - I swear it's tatooed on my soul! But then, I'm not far enough out.

August 2 is fine by me (heck, the 1st would be too, and so would the 25th). So I'm in.

Peg - do join us - we're a lot of fun

    Hi Sisters!

Finally made it back on the thread after a significant absence.  Made it to CA to sew uniforms for DS's drum corps, the Blue Devils.  As of Sat. night, they are the #1 corps in the country.  I'm so proud of them all.  I made it through the 2 1/2 weeks without too much trouble but came home with lots of bruises from lifting the suitcases in and out of the bus.  Most have faded from sight which is really good since I looked like someone had beaten me up.  I even had the TSA agent at SF airport asking me questions.  How embarassing!!!!

Sounds like everyone is having a good summer.  Congrats to all with new babies.  What a blessing.

So is the meeting on the 2nd open or a private party?  I've wanted to try the pie place for some time.  We have a location in Plymouth too off Ann Arbor Road.  I'm really familiar with the 94/Zeeb Road exit as it is the one we used to exit at for DS trumpet lessons.  What time is everyone meeting?  It would be good to see friends again.  It was so much fun at the walk and lunch afterward.  I'm going to try to bring the quilt I did for the breast cancer fundraiser held at the end of June.  A friend from the car club bought it and is going to let me borrow it to enter in the State Fair.  I have to put a sleeve on the back so I hope to pick up sooner than later.  I think it has to be taken to fairgrounds the middle of August.  I was very happy with it.

I'm gonna run but hope to see folks on the 2nd.  Have a great week.

Welcome Anne!  Glad you found us, too!  We're a bit goofy at times, but all in all we're a pretty good group of friends!  Please do join us!

Wendy...................you went to CA on a bus????????????????????????  With kids????????????Can't even imagine it........................private party on the 2nd.??  US.....you know nothing is ever private with us!

    Nancy.........what's going on with you??

Hubby is still sleeping..................thinking he is like a newborn................sleeps half of the day and is up most of the night!  Oyyyyyyyyyyyyy.....he has Chemo #14 tomorrow.

I see our NC friend has popped in.......................now if we can just get her to 'hop' on a plane and join us for lunch/pie  we'd be doing great!!!!

Hoping to see you all on the 2nd.

    Hello Dear Sisters!

Haven't been online with bco for quite sometime.  Congrats to all the new grandma's.  It is heavenly.  I just had both my children and their families here.  It has been almost 2 yrs since we've all been together.  They came for my BIG 60th birthday party.  Theme was Go Pink and we celebrated with champagne, a chocolate fountain, a mashed potato bar with toppings and an ice cream bar with toppings.  All my favorites.  Doesn't get better than that.  Again I have to miss your gathering.  Darn!  I'm heading to San Diego on Friday to help take care of my two little girls when my son has knee surgery.

Had a scare recently, but doing OK.  Have had back pain since last Aug.  Finally asked for a scan and MRI showed a 7 mm spot that was unidentifiable.  So on to a bone scan which was fine at the L5 but did show arthritis in various areas.  So I guess it is just getting older stuff.  So off to PT.  But then last week I had some blood in stool and then some bites on opposite breast that turned into a rash.  Aaaaagggghhhh!  Does it ever go away?  Blood disappeared and rash is getting better.  So I think just stress and reaction to bites.  People think we should be able to move on.  Hah!  They just don't get it, do they?  Otherwise, I'm doing GREAT!  Aug 13 will be 2 years since end of treatment and I have been told I should celebrate because that is the highest risk period.  So I'll be dancing!  Love and prayers to all of you and eat some pie for me.  You will be meeting up very near to where my daughter lives.  Will be thinking of you.  But I think I'll be getting together for lunch with my San Diego sisters on July 26.  Linda

How does Aug. 2 around 12:30 sound or do we need go later?

Welcome Anne - Come join us for pie.

Wendy - Looking forward to seeing your quilt. If it is anything like your t-shirt artwork I'm sure it will be impressive. You should know us by now .........open invitation the more the merrier.

Linda - Happy Birthday! Loved the idea of a Go Pink Theme and the menu sounds like my cup of tea. Can not go wrong with a chocolate fountain and the mashed potato bar is a first for me. All sounds yummo!

    JudyRock - Where are you?

Well, it is good to be back.Laughing  Today I complete 2 weeks.  surgery was on the 8th, very long day for my husband and kids.  I am doing well, up and walking and trying very hard to take it easy so my family doesn't yell at me for doing too much.

I am so happy. I have two new "girls",my daughter thinks they still look a little scarey because of the scares, but it is amazing how nice a shirt fits on me again. Only have 1 drain in and I hope to have that out this Friday.  I am so glad I had this opportunity to do this all locally.  Prividence Hopsital in southfield was very good. I loved being on the women's ward.

If you folks meet in Ann Arbor this fall I have a reson to be there.  My oldest daughter starts at U of M.  This would be a great reason to come down meet her and have pie.

Welcome back Dianne.  So glad to hear you are doing so well.  I hope your stay at Providence was what I had made it out to be.  I know it's a place where no one 'wants' to go but if you have to be there, it was great.

12:30 should be OK for me although I may be just a little later.  We get out of church at 12:00 and by the time I get home and changed, it will be closer to 12:45 or 1:00 but I'll just start my pie a little later than everyone else.  I was really joking when I mentioned it being 'private'.  I know from my own experience just how welcoming this group is and how special that is.  It will be so good to see everyone again - and the pie is just extra.

Denise, I flew out to CA and then got on the bus to travel with them.  It had 15 bunks built in; it was like an old Greyhound type bus.  We would drive to the school where the kids were staying and practicing and I did the sewing wherever I could find an outlet and table.  One place I was sewing in the fitness room between all the treadmills and stuff and at another location I was in the hallway since all the rooms were locked.  I ended up working on 56 uniforms, out of about 110, doing everything from pressing, hems up and down, and major alterations like taking seams both in and out so the uniform fit really nice.  David called last night and said he had lost 21 pounds so far.  I guess all the kids are asking when I am coming back because most of the uniforms are fitting so loose.  I would love to go back but I don't think there would be room for me to stay on the bus and I could not afford to stay in hotels.  They only have 2 1/2 weeks to go to the finals in Indianapolis.  I'm hoping I can do some work on them while we are there for that.  I would hate them to look bad for those performances.  I know that how they look counts toward the Visual component part of the score.  Last night they scored 92.6 out of 100.  Hopefully they won't let it go to their heads and just look to being the best they can be for the finish.  Last year, they were undefeated the entire season, went to the finals in 1st place looking like they were going to win and then due to "political judging", lost by .025 to a corps that they had beaten the entire season and who had come into the finals in 4th place.  It was a real blow to the kids since they had worked so hard the entire season.  Hopefully, it will not happen again this season.  I am all for fair play but the 'best' corps should win because they are the BEST, not because some judges want their favorite corps to win.  Who said life is fair?

Well, I have gone on long enough.  Hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend.  Denise, you and your DH are in our prayers as you go through this trying time.  Dianne, as is you and your family.  Actually to be truthful, all the group on the thread is on my list daily.  A couple of you, however, are named since you need a little extra.  Everyone can use prayer, right?  Take care, friends.

    Blessings,

    Wendy
