Thank you to all my dear sisters wishing me well.  I must say I didn't expect to feel this bad from the Taxol and not this soon.  Not looking forward to the rest of the them and was told by some of the gals on the TNBC forum that this is all normal and that some of us don't do Taxol too well.  That's rather foreboding!

Texas Rose, please, I didn't mean to scare you - be brave - you may be one of the lucky ones to said right through it.  Chin up - we don't have much choice anyway!

    Take care - to all.

LRM216  So sorry that Taxol is affecting you so early in the game.  I did my first of 12 weekly Taxol on Wed and so far it hasn't been too bad.  I have had increased pain in some of my arthritic joints that kept me up Friday night but since then its been tolerable.  I do think its's important for everyone reading these posts to remember the differences between some of the regimens.  You are doing Taxol 3 or 4 times every 2 to 3 weeks , right?  I am doing it weekly and the dose is lower for the weekly.  Although some women have problems even with the weekly, from my reading of other threads it's not as bad as with the higher dose.  I think it helps to point out these distinctions so some people don't worry needlessly about SEs that might not be as likely for their case.

Pauldingmom- Sorry you had to join our club,  but welcome, i am one of the ones that had terrible pain from the neulasta shot, my onc switched to neuprging(sp?) had 3 shots, it didnt bother me till the 3rd shot, was really bad, told onc i would like to see how i did on jsut 2, wbc was good enough i didnt need the 3rd shot, so hopfully on tuesday my counts are good that i wont even need them, i can tell you that every one is different and claritin did not work for me at all, but it does for a lot of woman here, i took pain meds that messed me up but didint help the pain then onc gave me propoxyphen-apap 100-650 not sure what generic this is but when i took 2 it was the only thing that helped me, also wanted to mention here that not every one gets the bone pain and dont want to scare newcomers, there are a lot that dont get the pain-

every one else my thoughts are with you all too!!

Good Morning May Marvels:  Just a quick check in before I head off to work.

Thought for the day:  Cancer, doctors, medicine, special foods or self-determination does not control our life - God is in control.  His strength enables us to persevere.   We just need to hold on to Him - He will never leave us or allow us to be defeated.

"We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken.. God never abandons us.  We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep goin:  2 Corinthians 4:8-9, NLT

    {{{Hugs}}} to everyone.

What is it with hair stubble?  I have hair stubble.  I want it to be good.  Hope you ladies are as well as you can be.  I'm sorry so many of you are having pain with the Neulasta shot.  I guess God knew I had a lot more to face so He let me off easy there.  My feet cramped a little and that was it.  And I have osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia so I thought I would be hit really hard.  What did hit me hard was the Paraneumonic Effusion.   I am healing though, I hope.  Please pray for me that there is no sign of infection when my antibiotics stop.  I have another week of them.  So far we haven't managed to kill me.  My prayers are with all of you.  Courage and strenght for what you must endure and know in some way we are there with you.

I'm still checking in because I figure until I have hair, I am still one of you and I did give it my best shot.  Round 2 just knocked me down.  Please pay attention to your se's no matter how insignificant you might think they are.  I was chilling but not running a fever so I didn't call until it was nearly too late.  I can't tell you how close I came.  Take care of yourselves.

    Lots of love,

    Nancy

    Hi ladies,

I spent the weekend at my parent's ranch in SE Texas.  Slept almost the entire time.  If I ever woke, I felt really nauseous.  It IS a viscious cycle to get more nauseous if you don't eat but nothing tastes or sounds good.  I usually feel better on day 8, so I'm hopeful that will happen tomorrow.  Your posts are so helpful.  Hang in there!

Benisse-tha's what I just told someone- it's a vicious cycle-  you know you have to eat but everything tastse awful.  Even my smell is bad.  everything smells like garbage!  It's hard to fight nausea when your trying to force feed yourself!  I found watermelon, pinapple and oatmeal tasted ok.  I made baby back ribs and homemade bbq sauce , fries and tuna mac and it all tasted terrible to me.  The ketcup tasted horrible and  I thought the miracle whip was bad and almost threw it out.  My dd and dh said it was great!  At least they enjoyed it.   I wouldn't mind not eating and loosing a little weight if I knew I wouldn't get sick!  Oh well it's only temporary!  Hopefully your taste comes back today!!  Take Care!  Geri

    Hi all

I have a appointment with my specialist team today, so should know more details of my surgery.

I had a bad 24 hours, my son (18) had a car accident last nite, and is very lucky to be alive.  Thankfully he only has minimal injuries, lots of cuts, bruising to his face, a sore arm and back.  I saw his car last night, where he crashed, he is very lucky.  He was definitely being looked after last night.

So today I hope for a better day today

Titch- Thank God your son is okay!! That must have been so scary for you.

I'm still feeling pretty yucky. Very nauseous this afternoon, but feeling a little better now. I have to go in the morning and have and ECHO and an EKG to see if the AC did any damage. I'm sure they will be fine.

My SIL is still in the hospital but is out of ICU and in a room finally. She is doing great now and I really appreciate the prayers. I haven't been able to go see her. My clinical trial nurse told me no, especially when she was in ICU. She told me hospitals are too full of germs. I know that's true, but kind of ironic too. I might poke my head in the door tomorrow and say hi to her since I have to be at the  hospital anyway.

I have to get to feeling better. I need to pack for my weekend at the coast. I cannot wait!!! I have become something of a hermit lately.

I hope everybody is feeling better. Hugs to all!

Titch- Thank goodness that your son is ok.  Blessings are coming to you in some form!

Mary- I still feel like crap too! I am a day behind you.  I thought I was going to have to have another MUGA after my tx was over but my onc didn't order one.....no echo or ekg or anything?? Hmmm, maybe I should put that on my list of questions for the next visit.  BE CAREFUL with the germies in the hospital, I am sure your SIL would love to see you and you her, but just be careful....last thing you need is to end up with some kind of stupid infection after finally getting thru a/c!

Debbie-  I totally understand the hermit thing.  I hope I snap out of it soon!  Last a/c is behind me but since i still feel like poo, well, it is just as easy to stay in bed and veg!

Not to mention that for the first time through all of these tx's the constipation monster has come to visit.........good lord!  NOTHING is working I feel like a blown up dead possum on the side of the road.........that is the degree of bloating.........lol.

Ok Marvels, that is all the energy I have tonight.......major suckage!!  I CANNOT WAIT TO HAVE MY ENERGY BACK!!!!!

Becky- I have pretty much decided not to go visit her. I hate to not since I will be at the hospital anyway, but like you said- it's just not worth it. I can see her when she goes home. My insurance won't pay for the MUGA. They will pay for an ECHO and an EKG and said if anything shows up then they will pay for a MUGA. Yeah, that makes sense! LOL  I wish mine hadn't ordered one. This is my "good" week and I hate having to be up at the hospital tomorrow early. I don't want to go!!!!!

I am having "butt issues" also but more of the feels like a cactus kind. Very, very painful. I'm going to try the Tuck's pads that were suggested here awhile back. I hope they help. I can't remember who was having this issue, but did they help? This just started with the last AC. I'm taking a stool softener.

I feel better tonight. I hope I feel good in the morning. I hate going for testing when I feel like cr** on a stick. Wink

    Hugs to all!

Funny thing happened to me today...thought I'd share it with you and hope you all enjoy it and it takes your mind off of the tough times for a minute.Innocent

I have been feeling nauseous and hadn't got my visit from "Aunt Flo", so I asked the chemo nurse why does she think I am feeling like this and why haven't gotten my period.  I shouldn't be feeling nauseous since it has been 3 weeks since my last treatment.  So she goes on to tell my that chemo can stop or make you irregular.  I say ok understandable...so while I'm sitting there she says I could wait a few days and then take a pregnancy test and then she asked me if I had any other side effects...like if my breast were sore....I laughed and said "I don't have any!" she was so embarrassed and said "oh, you have them both off...I am so sorry...I didn't know".

I know she felt bad...no worries I said.  I was still laughing!

    I'm still laughing!

Titch - glad your son is Ok.  I know that had to be scary.

Mary - Give it two more days and you will feel alot better.  I know that you will have lots of energy this weekend.  I hope your SIL continues  to improve.

Becky - ROFL at dead possum on  side of road.  I know exactly how you feel.

Debbie - lol at all the "bombs"  chemobrain is the pitts.

Viki - you should have pulled one of your fake boobs out and handed it to her and asked her if it felt sore.  LOL

I am going for my MUGA and EKG this afternoon before starting my Taxol on Friday.  Hope everyone has a good day.

    Good Morning May Marvels!

Debbie6122-  (keno brain!!  LOL!!) it's the brown bomb!!  My friend had hip surgery and the nurses gave it to her in the hospital.  It worked in 20 minutes.  (milk of mag and prune juice--warmed in micro)  I didn't know you tried it!!  Leave it to you to want to add liquor!!  LOl!!  Yuck!

Titch--Sorry about your son's accident but Thank God that he is Ok.  It is still scary to see the car wreck after the fact and see how bad it could of been.  Iam not looking forward to my dd driving.  She is only 13 yrs old so I have a while yet!  God bless You and your family!

    luvtheocean--   Try--   "THE BOMB"  !!Surprised

Texas Rose-  have a great trip!  I'll be camping 5 miles from home this week!  (Finally!!)

luv4my5girls--Could you be pregnant?   After the Foob comment  (Ha!)  Did you take the test?

deb6563-  Good Luck on your MUGA and EKG today.  I pray you have clear sailing thru your Taxol too!

To Everyone have a Great Day!  Cool

Iam on day 6 after tx #3 and feel pretty good.  I think the worst is over, I hope!!   Iam packing the camper to go relax at the campground (5 miles away) to get away from housework and yardwork!!  My house and yard are to big and it makes me nervouse when I don't get all the work done!!   I just don't have the energy to do it all.   So Iam leaving so I don't have to look at it!!

Sending warm thoughts and prayers your way--Geri

Hi all -what a lot of events since I looked in yesterday!  Sorry about your son's car accident Titch - very scarey. Each of my sons totalled a car about the same age and came out of it OK. I think they are more careful drivers now for it.

I had #4  of  6 yesterday - the first of taxotere and herceptin and am amazed at how not bad I feel today. There is no nausea, so no anti nausea drugs and no constipation. Hooray! All reports suggest that there will be some joint pain in a few days and I can ask for some prednisone or take Tylenol if necessary. It looks like there is hope! I think I will be well enough to play bridge tomorrow.

    Hey Marvels,

just bubbling up to the surface after T/C and Neulasta #4. Two to go! The A-fib thing continues and I had a couple of different SE's that have not popped up before. My fingernails are so sensitive that I can barely touch the keys of my computer, opening a box of cereal just about sent me through the roof! Has anyone else had this? I have been horizontal at home for a week, yet there is a new rash in my nether reigons similar to poison oak, aauuuughhhh!

Viki,- chemo round #2 catapulted me right into menopause. No periods, just hot flashes and exploding emotions. There's a lot of eye rolling between my husband and the dog as they slink past me.

Titch- ditto about your son. Nothing like our teenagers to keep "life on the edge". They say the most important lessons are learned the hard way...but that doesn't make it any easier for you, hang in there.

Geri- leaving is a good idea. It's hard for me to let go of not getting everything done too.

I am going on a road trip for about a week to get the heck away from home. Being sick is so darn boring. First I'll meet up with my daughter and a friend of hers at the coast and watch them go surfing. Then I'm driving down to where several of my girlfriends and their horses are camped at the beach for a week to visit them for a few nights. I don't get to ride this year (doctors orders) so my pony stays home. Then I'm spending a night at a lodge on the shore of Crater Lake. I'll get home just in time for #5, WOOOHOOO!

Sounds like transition time is happening for some of you. If it turns out that a different discussion board meets your new needs, be sure and drop in to let us know how things are going. Hugs all around, Mary

Finally had a good nights sleep. Took 12 mgs of melatonin so life and work may seem less stressful today. Still having problems with my internet connection. Off to see an IT friend today to see if I can upgrade the antennae on this laptop.

    Have a happy day girls.

    Evening Marvels-

Had a little grill out with DH's daughters and boyfriend.  Was nice, I basically cut up the salad and everyone else did everything else!  I have been soooo tired after this final tx.  I cannot wait to feel some energy again.  I am typing this while laying on my back in bed on my laptop.  Just wanted to pop in and say hi and offer minimal s/e's and a nice evening to all!
