Let's conduct our own study on how we all got breast cancer
Comments
-
whoa I missed nose picking! well that there's done given me breast cancer.
what's BOB?
-
Battery operated Boyfriend
-
I think I got cancer because I didn't let Jimmy Jarnagin "feel-me-up" in 7th grade.
-
What about Nancy Drew books?
-
..been thinking of this as well. On a serious note, I think I have the brca 3,4,5 gene (will confirm once the test is out). ..and I think the catalyst was either drinking waay to many bottles of water which sat in my car in the sun and the dioxins or pthalates or whatever was streamlined right to me, drinking all of my hot beverages only with a straw or playing in the neighborhood pond and kissing too many frogs. ..or maybe it was the mcdonalds barbie stand and all those fake burgers I put in my mouth!
This is a funny thread!
-
Thanks Dream
Oh I thought that's what the "vibrate" function was for on my cell phone...
-
i didn't read Nancy Drew books but loads of others... Maybe i got it cause i LET a guy feel me up in the 7th grade.
I din't play in the pond but did have a creek below the house that we caught tadpoles and crawdads in...HMMM
I put a vote in for the microwave..standing there in from of it waiting for that Stouffers to some out...
PLEASE don't tell my mother in law about the cell phone in the bra thingy she would die cause that' where she keeps hers...she's neurotic enough!!!!
I also missed the picking you nose thing...that might be the ONE thing we all are guilty of whether we want to admit it or not. Cause i'm sure not eveyone would be willing to admit if they ever have met BOB or not....LOL
I started turning grey at 18 due to a SORRY gene pool...(that's another risk!!) Maybe it's the years of haircolor...HMMM but I got allergic to that and had to stop 3 yrs before BC...Hell maybe it's because I stopped coloring my hair....ARGHHHHH
Patoo- can't wait till you jump in here again..Hope your trip was a good one and that you have some good zingers saved up for us.
-
OMG you guys crack me up.
-
-
Maybe it was all the madris blouses and skirts I wore in the 60s or all the mini skirts. I have never been too large, so I used extra padded bras or push-up bras. Maybe that was it. Debbie
-
I ran track in my teens. Long distance. Maybe the fried eggs bounced too many times..... LOL
-
oh betty, I spent a LOT of time by creeks ("cricks") and fishing with a safety pin... mini skirt, maxi skirt, midi skirt... culottes!!!! Culottes are evil!!!!
And shoulder pads in the 80s...
-
I'm back and no, no zingers saved up. You gals have me literally in tears though catching up on all your antics.
My small breasted niece was dropping her son to camp this morning and came running back into the house because she had on a top but no bra. Back in the 60's and 70's we went without bras, regardless of size, to show how liberated we were becoming. That could be a cause so Maire67, don't forget that.
And the microwave is probably a big contender for 1st place because for years I had popcorn every night.
Ohhhh, what about bird poop dropping on your head through the sunroof? I think bird poop needs to be studied and analysed for carcinogens. If it's not carcinogenic it surely is dangerous to your health when it hits your head and you're behind the wheel!!!!!
Nighty, night.
-
My husband and I took the ferry over to Toronto Island to walk about. A bird pooped on my head almost immediately. It was greasy and icky and I had lonnnng hair. I managed to hide it but it took 14 shampoos to get all the crap out.
-
Don't know if these were ever mentioned but I think it is one of three things:
Sitting to close to the T.V.Eating all those red M & M's and my favorite is that the lunch lady in the school cafe. put B.C. cells in the cole slaw.
-
Maybe it was just wishing for our breasts to be different- small breasted wanted bigger, medium breasted wanted bigger, large breasted were glad they were bigger but eventually they wanted them lighter! We are never really happy so, careful what you wish for!! ( I still wish for Brad Pitt's towel to fall off, even though my neighbor says he has seen Brad in the buff -pictures of course and was sadly disappointed!)
-
i sat too close to the tv too- AND loved red m&ms the best when i was young when i was a teenager it changed to green cause they said...well you guy know what they said about green m&ms don't ya???
I don't know about the cole slaw but maybe it was mercury in the fishsticks....
The bird poop really could be a viable option..that stuff is killer to wash out!!!! After all look at what it can do to the paint on your CAR!!!!
For me it could have been all those countless hours wrapped up in one of those super long phone cords talking for HOURS...
-
oh bettys... if its about telephone use then I definitely got BC from the phone...
pk, if your neighbor is a "he" ... in which way was he disappointed by a naked brad pitt?
-
Rachel, my neighbor stated he thought Pitt just came out of a cold pool! Him and his partner are the best "girlfriends" a girl could ask for! When you go shopping with them, they always see the good looking guys first! (kind of freaks my hubby out, so we don't "window" shop when he is with us)
-
pk that explains it!!! I once saw Tim Curry at the pool- although he had his clothes on... man was he hot! Oh here's another thing that caused my breast cancer. Dressing up like characters from Rocky Horror Picture Show and going to the midnight movies... (what was the frikin maid's name... that was who I tried to be... I should have tried for Janet)
-
I was Columbia and saw Rocky 35 times (I lived close to the theatre).
-
MAGENTA!!!!!
-
Good Evening All! How about Screamin' Yellow Zonkers. If they still made them, I would still buy them. I loved that.
Debbie
-
okay- i don't know what Screamin' Yellow Zonkers are somebody will have to enlighten me....
I had posters of John Travolta, Andy Gibb and Peter Frampton on my walls. One of em was on the ceiling over the bed just can't remember which.
LETS DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN......
-
Okay, ladies. let's pull our eyes upward because you are not trying to find the cause of our bc, you all are daydreaming about the ones that got away from you. That is probably what gave you all (not me of course) bc!
So, back to thinking with our brains (note I didn't say our heads because of where your minds will wander again), I think there are 2 other candidates for bc and that is licking the glue on envelopes - I actually thought it tasted good! or it could have been that when I bit my nails and swallowed the pieces, since they were sharp they went down my throat and cut off bits and pieces of cells which then went to my breast and mutated.
-
ahh Patoo, missed your warped little way of thinking!! Glad you are back.
-
Ah, swallowing the nails, ewww....BUT how about swallowing the CHEWING GUM!!! THAT's what did me in...all that 'rubber' in the gum...had to 'rub' off somewhere, eyyyy?
~juli
(I LOVE this thread!!! We don't have to get serious here, but it WOULD be interesting to see what theories abound as to WHY certain AGES of women with NO history of BC in family have in common??? Methinks (sorry, on a serious side, drat...)...that I had 2 miscarriages, and in MY mind, my BODY had to respond SOMEhow to the abrupt end to pregnancy??? (Mega-years ago, before my now-grown 2 children) JUST my thought...my breast surgeon thought that was interesting....sorry, to end on a HIGH note...how bout wearing just a t-shirt, no bra...for years...yes, I'm small-chested....lol...and with partial mast/NO nipple showing on THAT side!
LOL....juli
-
Putting bandaids on my nipples so they wouldn't show through, even with bras and i am not large-breasted.
-
i agree eating nail EWWWWW!! never did that.
I did however have to strap the girls down in High School when we did Fiddler on the Roof because i was supposed to be playing one of the younger daughters but had the biggest "sisters" We taped those suckers down so tight no wonder they went bad on me.
ljh- in HighSchool everybody wanted green M&M's cause they were supposed to make you ....ah increase your libido...
I've been in a deep funk this week so funny thoughts haven't been easy. I guess I can just say I am female, had hormones and am a living breathing human being... and I got BC.....and that's all i have to say about that...
-
I wore band-aids on my nipples. Crap. Green M&M's make you horny.
