I hear you Deb, on all accounts. I think I look like a tired Gram for sure. And today I feel like one for sure. Sebastian spent the day with me. He just left in tears and through a fit to stay with us.
He was helping his paw paw with our new fence. Or should I say a (huge cage) for the babies.....along with the gates for the steps. We are baby proofed all around the house. The deck looks like a play ground. I have high chair, car seat, and portable rail for the bed.
My dresser has diapers, brush, lotion and extra clothes. Kitchen has juice boxes ,sippy cups and plates with Elmo and such.
LOL, there goes my grown up house....
-
BTW, did I mention that I'm loving every minute of it.
-
I agree, Mary Lou, enjoying every single minute... I think I didn't have enough babies and am now making up for that by spoiling that little guy every chance I get. My daughter liked the birthing experience and the experience of being a new mom so much that she tells me she feels like doing it again. I'm all for it but I keep my mouth shut cause she needs to make her own decisions. So, Mary Lou, I totally feel like you. There's nothing better than a little face smiling at you.
Did I mention that my little grandson has decided that his very first word would come from his Brazilian nanny? No "mommy" or "daddy" for him. He says his first word over and over and laughs and laughs. What word has he decided to make his first? Monkey. Monkey in Portuguese is "macaca." Jeeps, he could have chosen something a little nicer......
-
LOL, that is cute Anna
We're going to see the new baby this afternoon. They live an hour away. I hate the drive , but it's worth it. Plus we will have a nice dinner in the city, with his parents and great grandparents.
Wow, can't believe how soon I may be a great someday. But Ashley is 15, 6 years away from 21. And you know time flies when you are watching children grow. I can't believe the little ones , how fast they have grown and changed .
I thank God I have survived to see all the change in our family. Not all has been good. But all the sweet things in life I have been able to enjoy too.
Guess that's where balance plays such an emportant part.
Hope all my dear sisters are having a wonderful week. Are the kids out of school yet?????
-
Hello dear sisters. I finally got a job! Yes, it took five long months. I will be working at a private university as a program Director. Wohoo, I am so excited! DH has been great but I really miss having a paycheck and financial independence.
ML and Anna - I can tell you are really enjoying your grand kids. What a special gift they are.
Margerie - Are your kids home for the summer? Steven has been out for a week and he is already bored. Ay, what am I going to do?
Have a good weekend! Love and hugs...
-
I am very happy to hear your news, Ody. Program Director! Does that mean you get to think about what people need to learn and how to learn it? And do you get to hire? What kind of university is it? How big? Near your home?
We're almost ready for the visit. I got a neat little beach tent that opens up in a snap and we can use it in the backyard, too. I've been looking for some playgrounds, but there don't seem to be any around here. As a matter of fact, I haven't seen any in this entire area. None of our trees has a branch high or low enough for a little swing, but there's plenty of space for a little guy to go digging, which is what I am told he loves to do. Did I mention he's walking everywhere now?

Here are my daughter and grandson at his first birthday party; the theme was stripes:

She made him his very own little birthday cake:
and wrote him a song, which she performed with a band member:
and then he got to sing, too:

awww... Anna what a wonderful day!
Kids just got out today, posted pics on Facebook. My daughter graduated kindergarten and I didn't even cry
She was only 2 when I was diagnosed and I was not sure I would be here to see it.
-
Anna, wonderful pictures :-)
Ody !!!!! so happy for you.
Marg, I will check FB. School is closing soon for my granddaughter. She will be coming home with me the week of the 21. We are going home to see mom and my oldest son.
-
Deb, where are you? Lat and Nancy????????
-
Weird...I can't get this in my favorites anymore....
How are my sisters doing? Grandson and mom arrive on Friday and we can't wait. I get to be there when he sees the beach for the first time!
Mary Lou, does that mean you are going up to Loudoun County? Have a great time with your granddaughter!
Ody, how's that new job?
Margerie, I'll have to check out the pics on Facebook. I've totally forgotten about that site....
Love to all, Anna
-
Anna - they've made some changes to this site so you might need to click the "safe to my favorites" link on the top right hand corner of this page. Great pics. He is adorable. I start my new job on Monday. Yes, as program Director I will be developing curriculum, teaching, advising students and hiring adjuncts. I am very excited about this opportunity and returning to academia. I used to have this same position but for a public university and loved every minute of it. I stayed there 10 years.
Happy father's day sisters.

Hi guys, checking in. More later, but I wanted to send my love!
-
Busy with baby but wanted to say hi. How is everyone doing?
-
Hi Everybody! I just had a birthday (on the Fourth). We went to Great America, and are still recovering today. Aye! It was a bit crazy, and it's funny how different theme parks can be when you are there with a little one. Greg was going nuts, he saw all the cool (meaning: terrifying) rides, but we could only go on things like the Wiggles Airplane (we lost count, we rode it so many times).
It felt good to celebrate yet another year.
We went shopping at Gurnee Mills (love that place!), and had lunch at Rainforest Cafe (Daniel loves that place!) I was delighted to buy Tommy Hilfiger jeans for $12.
How is everybody else? It's awfully quiet here! Love and prayers, Deb
-
Happy belated birthday, Deb! Glad you are doing good and had a fun time. I am doing great just very busy with my new job. I barely have time to log in here lately. How is everyone else doing?
Love and Hugs to all my chemo sisters!
-
Wow I haven't been here in a while either. We are redoing the kitchen. It is gutted. Nothing left in the dinning room or kitchen. The ceiling is even gone. It is being vaulted. All the appliances have been bought, but had to stay at best buy. I have everything downstairs but a stove. But the electric frying pan and microwave is good for now. And the grill too. Glad it's summer.
The mess is worth the result in the end. I'm happy !
Happy birthday Deb, and congrats on the new job Ody.... Anna how long will the baby stay? Jayden is in the hospital, he has an infection. Not sure what is going on. We are going to see him this afternoon.
-
Prayers going out to you and Jayden. I hope they find what is wrong and that he can come home soon.
Baby and parents leave for the States on Monday. I'll write more after that. I suspect I'll be heartbroken.
-
Jayden had a viral infection. He is all better now. Sebastian, Hayden, & Ashley are in Nova at mom's. She loves it. But I miss the babies....I have to watch them next week....Good thing, our home is tore up from top to bottom. I need a change of pace....

Glad to hear Jayden is better.
Feeling pretty blue......they all left on Monday. it all feels like a dream....

Anna, he is just darling!!!
-
Anna, you (like Marg) take AMAZING pics. Actually, now that I think of it, ML takes some rather cool pics too!
I am simply in love with each picture, but just adore the one of his bottom as he toddles away. SOOOO cute!!
It's late, we've had a long week (I have some info on Facebook, I'm falling asleep as I type so I must tell you later)
-
About Facebook......somebody has apparently been pretending to be me, so Facebook has disabled my account. At times I wonder if someone at Facebook is trying to steal my identity, cause they are asking me for an awful lot of proof my identity. I keep blacking out stuff like SS# and home address, but they keep saying they need more. Weird?
I have temporarily signed up under my maiden name, so if you get a message asking to be Anna.......'s friend, please check into it, it's probably me. I couldn't remember your last name, Mary Lou, but I'll find it.
-
Anna, I did get the request, and was baffled for a moment. I knew your maiden name vaguely (is it somehow on your email addy I have? Something like that...). I realized after a moment it was you, but I was concerned. I did figure that you got hacked into somehow-that's just awful. Can you contact Facebook for more info? When I was hacked into from Ebay, I ended up calling them several times for help because I was really upset.
Hugs!
-
gotcha anna
the ss# sounds very suspicious,,, they do not ask for that!!! Report to FB immediately. Good grief!
-
OMG that is terrible, Anna. I did get your invite and was not sure what was going on. I'm always suspecious of public sites and don't post too much anymore. Love the pics. My favorite is the one of him running away in the sand....priceless!
Waving Hi to everyone else. Hugs!
