Remember those "Troll Dolls." Suppose to bring good luck. Yea right! Stupid thing. I hate you troll doll.
Or maybe it was the troll doll the ex husband bought me.
-
Çod liver oil... every single morning Mom gave us a spoof full... but wait, my sister didn't get BC... hmmm, maybe she skipped a few doses. I never had a barbie doll, think I am too old for them.
Halloween masks or the sequins on the costumes? Who knows what fumes we breathed in?
-
Remember "Colorforms." That plastic crap was toxic.
-
I got it! My dad told me to "go play on the yellow line." That yellow line is evil.
-
Coulda been the ink from all that carbon paper we had to handle to make multiple copies of letters. Or even the ink that got on your fingers when you changed the ribbon in typewriters. Or the white-out to correct errors.

Hi all, this is my first post on this forum and I haven't read all the post yet but I wanted to share a thought I have had for awhile, even before I was diagnosed. When we were kids, in the summertime we would wait for the "fog truck" , which was the mosquito fogger truck, to come and all us kids would run behind it and play in the fog. This has worried me since I've grown, I think.."what in the hell were our parents thinking letting us do that???" Anywho, I wish you all the best and take care.

Koolaide we all drank it also Orange Crush
-
Crap, I still drink Koolaide.
-
Yeah but the one now is already sweetened isn't it? Not only did koolaide give me BC but the loads of sugar we added to it fed those little malignant cells (not to mention my weight gain!)
-
It is DEFINITELY ex- husbands! Ok- lets spread the word- we solved what causes breast cancer- YIPPEEEE!!!!! (oh- maybe it was those big bell bottomed HASH jeans?)- Darn, thought I had it figured out! Tami
-
I think it was those multi-colored polka dot candies on strips of paper that caused mine..
particularly the blue ones
-
The straws filed with colored/flavored sugar, I chewd the ends
-
You mean pixie sticks Yum. I used to sneak them into school and eat them in class.
-
Of course, My mother would say it was because I ran through the sprinklers
(This is a holdever from the polio days)
-
Anyone old enough to remember Ju Ju bees (candy). Not sure of the spelling. They had to be to be at least half plastic... I also ate the paper on the candy dots. No ex husband, but I am a widow. HE was married 3 times before, twice to the same one, so I was wife # 3, marriage # 4 -- we had 33 years before he died --- of cancer.
-
My cancer was caused by the spiral phone cord I was tethered to as a teen. The cord rested on my breast.
-
I stood too long with the refrigerator door open as a teen. LOL...
-
I just love this topic, at least we still have our sense of humor. When I was little my mother use to make me eat Vicks Vapor Rub when I was sick. I can still taste that greasy ball in my mouth. I know it caused my bc.
-
I have no clue what it was suppose to do, but I also got the rub down on the neck, chest and I hated it under my nose. She also wrapped cotton around my neck to keep it warm. Yep, I think it was the Vicks. Someone told me to rub it on your feet and wear socks overnite to soften your feet, I am ashamed to say I did try it and it worked. So I guess I have greased inside and out.
-
I still eat Ju Ju Bees. Between that and the Koolaide, I'm screwed.

I lived on a farm growing up. I was such a daddy's girl that I had to be with him & when he was on the tractor planting, I would stay in the back of the pick-up truck sitting on bags of fertilizer or running back and forth on them. Or, maybe it was when I was mean to the chickens. They would be on their nests when you went to get the eggs. Some of the hens pecked and drew blood on the back of my hand. I was told I was to take their heads and put it under their wings, maybe I did that too hard. Debbie
-
Lucky Charms cereal. They magically gave us BC. Damn Elf!
-
Sugar babies
-
Slow poke suckers and giant sweet tarts
-
I wasn't going to say anything, but, yes, I ran through cow pies, too. We also had a cement horse tank. One year we put goldfish in it and they lived and multiplied for years. It also had moss in it and I would walk in that, too. Maybe it was helping my dad and brothers get mice out of the corn bins. They would catch them and then give the mice to me. Dad said make sure you hold them by their tails. What did he know! So I held one mouse by the back of his neck and it bit me. That's the reason. Debbie
-
Yeah, swallowing Vicks - I did it, and sloshed it on outside too. Also ate JuJubies and Sugar Babies. Nowhere near a farm though.
-
Nah, you get mad cow disease from cows, not BC
edited to add: maybe you were misdiagnosed and have mad cow instead of BC? Is there a mc.o (madcow.org) website?
-
Well, if you find out you are on the wrong website let us know. Your sisters are all very supportive and will go with you to your BS for a confrontation!
(but I'll stay back and hold down the fort)
-
Kissing the cat, they ( my brothers) said cats carry cancer
-
Merilee, Don't let PETA hear him say that.
