Hi everyone,
Odalys, Laura & jenni..... I was welcomed home with squares. Thank you so much. Laura, you border great girl!
As Madison said, we made a couple of afghans while MB and I were there. I also learned some new stitches. I wonder if I will remember how to do them. I miss them already. I loved the area. Maybe after I get a nap in this evening.
I'm anxious to get started on another afghan.
If anyone has a recipient, please let Madison or myself know.
Hugs and big thanks!

Hi everyone:
I hope I'm posting in the right place...
I want to thank everyone who contributed to the wonderful afghan I received. As I mentioned to dreamwriter, I've made so many crocheted squares over the years for others I never expected to receive an afghan for myself. I'm floored! It's so warm and cozy. Lord knows, after what I've been through lately I'm certainly in need of comfort. It's so great to know that so many people are "in your corner". As a person who crochets squares and has made many borders for many afghans I know how much work is involved in the process.
It takes many people and lots of support to battle this "beast". I always welcome as much as I can get and will find any opportunity to help others going through this as well. After 5 1/2 years of on and off chemotherapy, surgery and radiation, I certainly feel the battle scars. When I have this wrapped around me, I'll envision it as a cloak of love and a barrier to all that's "bad" out there.
Thank you so, so, much for such a wonderful gift.
Edited to add: This blanket is so roomy it's hard to get an idea of the scale from the photo. I'm a tall girl (almost 5'8" tall and there's still another row of squares that I folded over at the top so it wouldn't drag on the ground. I'm amazed at the size of this blanket. Wow!
-

I UM had to get mke to help. She delivered the afghan to her home. I tried 1 get togethers to try and present it to her. The first one no one came. The second one mke came and I got to meet her. And passed off the box (which was now a bag) to her since she could drive it right to her door.
-
dreamwriter...... thanks again for all your help.
MB - no I haven't practiced.....I haven't had time. I'm putting one together now and will get out my instructions soon! LOL Be ready to answer the phone.
-
Madison - Wow - those are gorgeous (as usual)...I look at them as a mosaic of love! Really... each is a different "tile" and grouted together with black thread.
Liz - Another box o' squares will be leaving my post office on Monday.
Thanks!
-
I'll be mailing this tomorrow. I'm bordering and will get another afghan out soon. Thanks everyone! Hugs

Hi everyone - I haven't been making squares for awhile, but I'd like to donate yarn to anyone who can use it: Caron Super Soft (3 shades purple, 3 shades green, 1 red, 2 shades yellow, 1 pink, 1 white, 1 grey, 1 mango (!) 1 blue, 1 raspberry, mostly all full skeins...also 3 1/2 skeins of black).
Jacqui once sent me some yarn so I wanted to return the favor, but it looks as though she hasn't posted since last September, so it's all for the rest of you wonderful ladies!
Let me know if you are interested - send a PM with your address - I'll pay for postage.

Nancy, I have someone who makes squares for us that would love the yarn. I'll PM you my address. I'm happy to send postage to you. Let me know your address.
Thanks for the donation!

-
Great! I'll PM you!
I often think of the wonderful impact you all have made in the lives of so many! This group inspired me to make an afghan to donate to the local cancer wellness house here, and it's going to be raffled off in August. Hopefully it will warm someone as well as raise money to keep the support groups going.
-
Thanks Nancy. How wonderful that your afghan will be raffled. Anytime you want to rejoin us, jump right back in.
Hugs
-
