Wow ladies,, hope today is a better day. There has been a lot of downer things recently.
Had to comment on the music thing, particularly after Vivre's post. I read an article about a year ago that said that people who sing everyday are happier. (chicken egg thing I'm sure). Well, made it a point to sing along to the radio every day since then for at least a few minutes. And you wouldn't believe what a bad singer I am. But, I swear it works. Something about taking a moment to remember to sing and think about being happy and doing it works for me. DH said he knew I was finally starting to feel better after the whole chemo and related business when I started singing again on the treadmill. Until he said that I hadn't realized how long it had been. So, can't say I get it done everyday, but sure have been trying.
Hoping to get some exercise in today. Yesterday the neuropathy was so bad I really couldn't walk and had to work from home. All I could do was lift weights. So, hoping its better today. I'll be on my feet a lot at work, so hoping to still be able to get some fun in tonight and tomorrow.
Good luck to all today.

Morning all. It is raining here-AGAIN. But I am trying to look on the bright side. Maybe it will wash all the cotton out of my darn cottonwood trees once and for all and this snowing will stop so I can take all the screening off of my garden.
I am taking the intitiative to declare this a suckiness free day. All this bad news is just so horrible and my heart goes out to all of you who are touched by it. What is going on up there,PK? So sorry to hear all the sad news from everyone. I am counting my blessings twice today. I think we need a group victory dance today. Since, we are all victorious cancer survivors so any day is a good day to celebrate, so why not today, when we all seem to need a group hug. So I am purposing that we all put on some Cyndy Lauper today-"Girls Just Want to Have Fun". If there is ever a song that makes one happy, it is that one! As Ivory said, even if your singing would wake the dead, as mine does, sometimes you just gotta do it. So let's do a little song and dance together today gals. As we do, we will send good vibes to each other and smile at all of God's blessings that have allowed us to enjoy this day, even if we have to do a rain dance! Then I want everyone to come back here and report how they felt doing their little song and dance routine!
-
You're right Vivre, today is going to be a wonderful day. The sun is out, looks gorgeous out!
Also today is my Friday, that is always a good thing.
Sending positive happy thoughts and vibes to all. Thanks for helping me out with my funk. I will do my little dance later, but I will do it!
-
Morning everyone! I walked yesterday with my dog. Once in the rain. I also went to yoga. That is so relaxing. The sun is out this morning so I am going out and read for a while. I go into work this afternoon. Starting nights for the next 4 days that I know of. It is suppose to be very hot this weekend. Summer has arrived. With me working evenings maybe I can get some sun (vit d) about a hour each day. Every little bit helps I know.
Sorry to hear of all of the "bad" things. I had some bad news too but I figure everything is happening for a reason and I should keep on going.
I have tried all three of the medicines Arimidex, Femara and Aronasin. All three make me feel yucky and pain in the joints. Since arimidex was the least one I hated I am being put back on that for the duration. Does anyon e else have the joint acheness and what do you do for it? Going out to get some sun.

Good morning chickies! I like the suckiness-free day thing today!
My DH comes home on Thursdays so that puts a big smile on my face. I sang a couple songs to the radio on my drive in and even snuck in a quick 15 minutes on the treadmill before I had to hit the shower (I do have to admit that I did cry while watching the news about those teens that committed the murder-its all over the news)...but after my cry, I picked myself up and tried to really appreciate LIFE! You all help me so much, I want to thank each one of you who takes the time to read and post - I just love you girls!
Lisa, where are you???? Make it a GREAT day!
-
Hi Everyone, I want to join in on the "Suckiness Free Day"!!! LOL good one Vivre!
Took the 4.4 mile loop with DH this morning... Felt good. Yoga last night was a killer! I was dripping sweat! I don't know what has gotten into our instructor! She nust be having power surges!!! LOL. Feels good to use the old body though. I swear, when the class is over I feel like a dishrag!! So well spent! (at least these past 2 weeks anyway!)
No walking tomorrow as I go in for that abdominal ultrasound. Ugh. I am just hoping this is nothing, and will report back. I just realized though the ultrasound tech is not going to tell me anything, I'll have to wait to hear back from my doc! I am going to get in their phone queue as soon as this freakin test is done with! At least there will be no IV's!! LOL.
I'm with you Kari, LIFE is so good!
Where is Lisa??? I better echo your, "Make it a GREAT day" !!!!
Spring.

Hello Everybody....sounds like you have all been busy, same here! Teaching lots of zumba and doing my Arbonne parties!
Spring I'm sure it will be nothing...stay positive.
The weather has been wet and chilly, but at least I don't have to water the garden! You can always find the up side!
I'm fighting off a cold...bit of a sore throat today, so I'm gargling with the apple cider vinegar. I'm sure it will be better tomorrow. Just not talking much today!
Well, need to prepare for my Team Survivor Zumba class tonight and my makeup and margarita party for tomorrow. Taught zumba at 8 am this morning and have been playing around since then! LOL
Hang in there ladies and remember, exercise releases powerful endorphines that will make you feel better!
Make it a great day!

Good morning, ladies... I just wanted to share a back window car decal I noticed on my morning walk that made me smile. It read (with a palm tree illustration) NO BAD DAYS. How true, if that's what we decide!
It's already a cooker out there -- only 90, but humid and absolutely no breeze. I could barely do 3.5 miles, vs. 5.4 yesterday. But the heat gets me sweating much more, so I'm thinking that's a good thing.
My son got a yellow fever vaccination yesterday in anticipation of a possible business trip to Africa. He just popped in my office as I was writing this, and I asked if he was having any reaction to it. I loved his reply. "No, and don't even get me started on the possibilities because if I even think about them I'll probably get them." Smart kid, and exactly the point vivre made yesterday about our minds, which is why I wanted to share it.
Make it a good one ~ Deanna

Hello all. Cold and rainy here as well. Not very inspiring. I still don't feel well so don't know how much movement I'll get done today. My 4-member team here at work is down to 1, me, today and probably tomorrow so can't even stay home. BUT, it could be so much worse so I'm not complaining.
Spring - will keep you in prayer and sure it's not going to be an issue.
I will try and do a DVD or treadmill tonight; depends on how I feel.
Blessings.

Hi everyone!
Today is a much better day for me ~ I did 30 minutes on my stair stepper first thing this morning & then did the hand weights to get back to toning the arms.
Deannna ~ the music did it for me! THANK YOU for the suggestion. I turned on my DirecTV XM & guess what the first song I heard was?!? "Count on Me"-Jefferson Starship. How appropriate.
I asked for help from my sister/friends & I received it. I knew I could count on all of you. I thank you all from the bottom of my pea-picking little heart! So, I danced & sang all around the house as I went about my business. What a great idea, vivre!
This is a "Suckiness Free Day", this is a be.u.ti.ful day indeed. I did my part for the Group-Victory-Dance. How is everyone else doing???
Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful day and for this wonderful group of friends. May we all be as blessed as we are at this moment. Amen.
Love & hugs,
Val

Sounds like everyone is doing pretty good so far today! DD came by to have lunch with me, she just found out she was exposed to Swine Flu! Cripes!! she was off to work to get a culture taken...will take 48 hrs. to find out if she's positive...and I've been around her more this week than ever! But I feel fine!! Oops, entered the sucky zone for a minute...snap back to reality girl...
Ok NO BAD DAYS! I like that Deanna and Val, I can picture you singin and dancin! GO GIRL!!
Keep on keepin on girlfriends!
-
I love the attitutde in these posts. Got out with DH today for a beautiful walk in the best day so far this Spring/Summer. Awesome music in my ipod and we held hands part of the way. So, I'm forgetting about the c--- from work today and my car needing to be worked on. Concentrating on that walk and it will keep me going for tomorrow too.
Hugs to all that need it.

Am having a good day--finally some sun, yay! Went to yoga this morning and even managed to get into (and out of) a back-bend! Then went to get my hair done and am off to the dog park again before mtg friends for dinner. So a fun day. Hope you all are having a good one also. No Suckiness!! I like it.
-
It looked like rain, so I took my umbrella and headed to the riverwalk. I was afraid to get stuck with beamer in the forest preserve. It was drizzling a little so I was
"Singin in the rain, Just Singing in the rain, What a glorious feeling, I'm happy again. . . "
And then the sun came out. Now if I had left the umbrella at home it would have poured. Well, I guess the rain dance worked! Or is it suppose to be the other way around?
-
Happy Friday!!
Allie!! WOW a backbend, I used to be able to do those like they were nothing in my 20's...now...well that's another story! that's awesome!
kmmd - that vision of you walking hand in hand with your DH makes me smile! I went home yesterday and my DH just grabbed me and laid the most passionate kiss on me!! WOW! I will carry that through today with me as well! Good times!! hhaha
vivre - I love it, Singin in the rain....la la la!!
Let's have another suckiness free day!! YEAH!
-
Yep, I walked last night. Only about 30 minutes but I was moving. YAY!
-
Allie - WOW on the backbend!
Had the ultrasound and the tech didn't seem freaked out in the slightest, so I psychologically take this to mean all is well. ha! She said it was marked "routine" and the results won't be back for 2 business days. So early next week.
This will be a low exercise week for me, only 4 power walks plus yoga, but still not bad, given the 2 medical appts!
Making it a great day, right??? Spring...
-
Spring, good to hear things went well, if the rad didn't come have a look that is really looking positive ( don't get me wrong , it is not bad when he comes and has a look)
Good job Patoo, keep on going or I will have to come down and kick your butt!!!
So far looks like a beautiful day so I am going to go enjoy it by starting off meeting my sister (yah there is trouble there! he he)
Have a great weekend everyone.

Spring--well that sounds promising, especially going into a weekend where you have to wait. Hope it's all nothing!
patoo--Yay! good for you!!
We are heading out for vacation to see both families next week--will be off my regular diet and exercise-ugh! Will probably only be able to fit walks in. I could of course schlep my running shoes and stuff and find a gym but that's harder when you are visiting and I hate bringing any more stuff. Always plan on down-sizing the luggage but it still ends up being heavier than I want. part of the trip is in NYC (yay!) since my DH has work there and schlepping a lot of bags there is a pain...
-
Spring, sounds good!!! keep us posted next week
you girls crack me up!
-
Keep going girls. You all make me jealous of the love ones holding hands and the kissing but I will forgive you. I get puppy kisses when I exercise on the floor!! Hot today but did get my walk in and sat in the sun for a few. Humid too. Keep the positive attitude Spring. Sounds like everything is looking good for you. Everyone enjoy the weekend. I'm working nights this weekend. Joy
-
Pk0199, you make me laugh but I'm also extremely scared of you so I have to keep moving to stay a step ahead!
-
Hi Ladies, guess what - it is supposed to hit 100 degrees here in NC tomorrow! Right Joy? We are going to be a-cookin'!!!
Better get up early and walk, b/c later in the day it will be hot hot hot! :O
Thanks for words of encouragement. It is just a pain - when you have had a dx of cancer, and they find something to be checked out, it's just different than it was before, you know??? ahhhck!
-
Allie-enjoy your vacation, get some walks in and forget the rest.
Patoo-I'm watching you.... (don't worry I am actually a big wuzz)
Joy-way to go, keep those walks up
Spring- I refuse to believe there is anything wrong with you, nope can't happen, no way, no more bad things are going to happen to the people in my life, nope , everyone is going to be just fine!
That's it, that is all I have so have a great weekend everyone!!!!
Penny

Joy, don't be too jealous, DH came to have lunch with me, then was complaining about the heat, complaining about all the teens from the nearby water park at our lunch place, worried about who parked next to Bev (the porsche not Spring! haha)...he was all stressed out...I was like "focus on me, forget the rest..." didn't really work though..He's home and all better now. I hope you get some rest between shifts!
Penny and Patoo, you girls keep me laughing!
Spring, singing the song "Some like it hot, hot hot!" I too was thinking that I never worried about tests, etc. really before "c" dx...BIG FAT BUMMER NOW!!! but like Penny, said no more bad things and as Deanna said No Bad Days!
Allie, ENJOY your trip! Report back what a fabulous time you had please!!!
-
Allie ~ Have a fun vacation! Probably no time for a gym, but walks with family you don't see all that often are a great time to talk and catch up. And NYC's a fabulous place to walk. I seem to remember that 20 blocks = 1 mile, at least right in Manhattan.
Spring ~ I've got fingers crossed and will continue to pray that the feeling you got from the rad tech was right on! I'm sure it was. And I can't believe NC is going to be 100! I'd better stop whining about how hot it is here, 'cause it sounds like we're having similar weather.
Joy ~ I'm afraid you only get to hear the good stuff about our DHs here! On the other hand, if you miss having someone around, maybe it's time to start looking?! We'd all love to hear about some hot dates! That would liven up this thread more than zumba!
Well, have a lovely weekend, everyone. And don't forget that this Sunday is Father's Day (as I almost did)! Deanna
-
Woo--100 is HOT! Stay cool you hot ladies!
I'm sure I will chk in during my vaca. Have to keep up with you all
Hope it's a great week all around!!
-
Hey Patoo, Kari called us girls
, sigh, my son thinks I am old! I think I like Kari better! lol
-
When it hits 95 at the beach then you know it is HOT!! There is a breeze but all it is doing is pushing hot, humid air around. Hate it but good time for the A/C. Not looking for any men in my life at this time. Had enough of their crap in the past years.I love being married but haven't found the right one yet. Tried it 4 times now and this last one lasted the longest. He didn't like me talking to anyone especially men. The one I am accused of having an affair with talked to me about treatments and was easing my fears before I started the roller coaster. He was given 3 weeks in December. (lung cancer and never smoked) Anyway he is starting to give up and I send him cards to get him kick started. On a lighter note-- Maybe I will get kidnapped during the Pirate Invasion in August!! That would be exciting. I will keep you informed. Everyone have a good weekend while I work. I am involved in a reflexology study. Massaging the feet. Didn't know there is a place on the feet that affects each organ and part of the body. Take care and try to keep cool. Joy
-
Spring,
Sending you good thoughts and prayers and expecting your U/S to be normal!
XOXO,
Mimi
