    Hello y'all,

Just checking in real quick to say hello to all you ladies :)

Nothing new to report here, which is kind of a good thing I suppose. Did anyone watch Farrah's story the other night? I cried my eyes out. She is such a brave lady (like so many here) I HATE HATE HATE cancer!

I couldn't get past the fact that Farrah is an actress because some of the documentary seemed produced rather than natural. There was something about the documentary that struck me as publicity, Farrah wanting to not be forgotten, but I guess that was, in part the purpose. Farrah was always me least favorite of Charlie's Angels- so that may be where some of my cynicism is coming from.

The area under my skin still feels a little weird-- not in a painful way, but in a numb kind of way. I still had some soreness for a few weeks, but usually only after I touched the area to see if it was still sore. I heard somewhere that anesthesia stays in your body for up to a month. I got more tired than usual for about a month after surgery.

I'm here-- coming out of the fog of losing Little One. I still miss him like crazy, but the pain isn't so raw.

Hey  I have gotten emails that say there is push for insurance co. to make Mx day surgery.  There is bill before Congress to require atleast 2 days to be covered by insurance.  I have written my Congressman Joh Barrow, who is supporting requiring up to 2 days to be covered.  Pass this along.

Golf- that email has been going around since I was diagnosed in 2001-- every few months it pops up and I've NEVER seen anything to verify it's veracity.

I've been remiss in keeping this group up to date - my apologies.  I am more apt to update Judy's blog (www.ivehadmy.com)

The path report came back great - one of two sentinel nodes on the right side showed active cancer and one node in the right chest were positive. All the right nodes were removed during the surgery. Expanders were also placed by the plastic surgeon.

All of the left side were clear.

Val, Sorry to hear Judy had some positive nodes. I was confused to read that the report came back great?  Did they get it all and thats the good news? Hope so.

    Take care!

Val- ditto to what Dee said about her confusion about the nodes. I guess that means she'll need chemo and radiation?

Nice to meet you Shae and good luck on your surgery. If you can, let us know how you make out-

Hi all--can't even remmeber the last time I posted here... Done with radiation (as of May 1), slowly recovering. What I'm finding hardest is that I still get so tired so easily. I feel like I'm donw wiith treatment, chemo was done back in February, I should be right back to my old self...but I'm not.  And of course the lymphedema doesn't help.

Enough whining...at least I'm done. And my port comes out in 2 weeks--can't wait!

But as if to throw me off balance again, things at work that I thought had been settled are getting active again--will the church close or not? If so, when? (which has huge implications for my follow-up, besides everything else) And if it does, where will I be next?

Never done with uncertainty, are we?

Let's see, disappointed in CA, but understand the legal point.

Glad to hear people are feeling better..

Shaesallah, hope all went well today!

    Hugs,

    Martha

    Martha

Hang in there...Church politics are worst.  My Dad and my partner's Dad were Methodist ministers.

I ahve been working all this week and I am tired too.  It is hard to admit not Superhuman.  Hope the Church stays.

Shaesallah made it thru surgery just great.  They took her lymph nodes but we dont know anything about them yet.  She had a horrible time with the sentinel node biopsy.  Poor thing. Well Ill let you guys know more later.

Teresa- the sentinel biopsy is a pain in the neck.

Shae- I hope you're doing well. Are you home yet?

Martha- I do not understand the legal point of CA because I don't believe that people with the power/majority should be able to decide which civil rights the minority can have. I think we'd probably still have slavery in the south in some states and there wouldn't be integration if not for Lincoln and the justices who decided Brown v Board of Education. I just look at how long it took for women to get the right to vote and only after Obama became president did the equal pay for equal work bill get signed. I think it's no coincident that the senate and the house are made up of mostly men and  things took this long for women getting equal pay for work.

I everyone!  I came home Saturday the day after the surgery.  '

As for the SNB being a pain, well, I tried to tell everyone I have as low tolerance...  I remember extreme pain and hearing myself scream and all the tears I shed..   I was so embarrassed that I acted like that, I did apologize to the doc and the nurse tho.  I loved the shots they gave me for pre op as I was fast asleep before I left the pre op area, waking later  in recovery.  I am sure glad I have the pain meds to ehlp, I slept thru most of Saturday, Sunday and Monday....more awake Tuesday and today.  I am going to the surgeons office in a short time to see if the Drains can come out and because I am extremely red and sensitiver on on side.

I will post again when I can or sftfemme65 can for me.

Yay, glad you're home, Shae! Rest up and heal!

NoH8--What I meant was that, according to the laws of California for amending the constitution, the amendment was legal (whether it's a fair or just process is another question, but the court wasn't addressing that issue). What they've done, though, is interesting--by declaring the earlier marriages still valid, they've created, in effect a two tier system, where some couples are more equal than others, so to speak. I'm hoping that will be used as a wedge to make same sex marriage legal--that you can't have separate systems for people in the "condition."

And in the meantime we can celebrate New Hampshire!!

Sorry to hear you had sucha  hard time with the sentinel. It surely was uncomfortable having those wires sticking out of my breast. That's something I'm glad I'll never have to repeat.

I just picked up my cat's ashes at the vet. I can't believe it took so long to get him back. I feel so much more at peace with his ashes back, like he's with me again.

Hang in there...they are our babies.  We have ashes of my old dog and partner's old Yorkie.  They are to go with us when we go.   Has anyone heard from Deb?  Hope she is recovering well.

Martha any word on the status of your church?
