Jeanbean -- I am sorry to hear about your mother!!  But I LOVE her response.  What a bother.  Like Winnie the Pooh says, Oh, bother.  And I loved that she went on, making soup.  Good for her.   I'll keep her in my thoughts.  Let her know we're all pulling for her!

Tracy -- I hope surgery went well, I am thinking of you today!  Hang in there and keep the meds close at hand.  No need to suffer through any pain!

Tina -- I will keep Myriam and her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Welcom lovinmomma!  If you are looking for a ps and don't mind being in the Mill Creek area my guy is Dr. Brian Wendell and he's over at Providence Medical Center, Everett but has an office in Mill Creek as well.

He's great so far I have no complaints.  His staff is awesome and very caring.  I still have my expanders and will see him after I complete RT.  So there is one choice but I am sure the other gals here know other docs in Seattle just as awesome.

    Good luck with your relay!

Oh my gosh, yall. Jean, I am soooo sorry to hear about your mom. What a bother indeed.

Susan, Carol (and Jean of course!) looking forward to hooking up with you all tomorrow. My best friend from grad school and my daughter have been in the bedroom trying on my crazy wigs for the last hour in prep for tomorrow. As of right now, the three of us will be there bright and early tomorrow morning and will start calling once we are parked and on site.

So sorry the weather today wasn't more pleasant...but looking forward to tomorrow.

    Hi ladies,

I wish I could have been there today for the Race for the cure.  I'm sure you did all of us proud!  Surgery went well and I am back at home, colorful and a bit sore, but definitely manageable.  My doctor was Dr. Miles at Swedish for Lovinmomma looking for a Plastic surgeon.  I'll let you know how it looks!

So glad it went well Tracy! I think I'll be meeting Dr. Miles this summer.

I too wish I could have been at the event...but the end of the school year and the chemo/cancer #$WW# has caught up with me and all my weekends feel like chemo ones...2 more to go (next one Friday) and then more scans. I'm still hoping to be at RR on the 17th!

Tracy - Glad you are back home and it all went well.  What a long "journey" you have been on, as I noticed again that you started this thread almost a year ago!  Hope your mending goes smoothly and that we'll see you on the 17th.   Libby

    Hi Everyone,

I'm watching the King 5 news coverage of the Race for the Cure as I watch this.  I wish I could have done it, but I'll definitely be there next year.  I hope all of you who went had a good time, and thank you for doing it for all of us.

Tracy - I was glad to hear you're doing OK after surgery.  Hopefully the hardest part is over.

Lovinmomma - There is a plastic surgeon at Valley Medical Center where I work who does mostly breast surgery, his name is John Hutter.  He is very good.

    Ladies,

Geez you all look so good!!!  Ditto what Tracy said -- thank you for honoring those of us who did not come, especially Susan for wearing the note w/ our names!  Glad it was a good day!

Tracy -- glad the healing is going well.  Been thinking about you!

We had such a good time at the Race!  It was very inspiring to see so many participate, and nice to have company in the hot pink shirts!  My kids even had fun (although my son was hoping there would be more running involved!(.

Tracey - how are you feeling - 5 days out?  My reduction is scheduled for 7/20 so I am curious what the recovery is like....hope you are doing well!

    Hi All,

Recovery is going well.  I quit taking pain medication as of yesterday morning and am managing just fine on Tylenol.  I have to say the actual reduction part-doesn't hurt hardly at all.  It is the lift and the lipo that she did under my arms that is causing me the most discomfort.  Now lest you all think that I had 40 pounds lipo'd out-I didn't!  I have never had a flat stomach and told my PS that I was concerned that if I went down to a C that my boobs wouldn't stick out much past my stomach as I tend to carry all of my weight in my upper stomach.  She said she would take some out, what she could get to using the reduction and lift incisions only-no other incisions.  So, just around my rib line and under my arms is where she took some.  She only took an extra pound, but that tissue under the arms must be pretty sensitive as I have just as much "boob" on my sides as I do in the front!  Can't wait for that swelling to go down.  I am definitely smaller but because I have the swelling on the sides and the compression bra on, I can't really tell what my shape will be like.  But I am hopeful!  I told my PS I was a little worried that the pathology report would come back with something in it and she just brushed it off.  Assured me there would be nothing-let's hope she's right!

Tracy--so glad the surgery went well and you are not having too much pain. Understand about worrying about the path but we're all on it and thinking NO CANCER thoughts in overtime.

Carol--"4 boobs" hee hee! I saw Dr. Paige today and the visit went well. He is very down to earth and respectful. I felt like he gave me a very balanced presentation of my options (although doesn't like to do the DIEP pedicle flaps as one loses so much abdominal muscle). His nurse is a doll and runs a reconstruction support group. I'm leaning towards implant with a lift on the other side but going to think about it a bit.

My mom has her breast MRI tomorrow--hoping we don't find anything else. We also found out yesterday she has fluid in her lungs--probably related to other problems but can't help but worry about mets! We'll know more friday after her SCCA appt.

So my sister (age 50) calls me today and says "my mammogram was abnormal" Huh???!!! I now feel officially overwhelmed. At least we know the drill,compression/mag views and US tomorrow, then biopsy if needed.

Haven't been around for a few days.  Wow!  those pics are great, love the list and all of you look so beautiful. Thanks so much for keeping me in your thoughts on that day.

Tracy I am glad your recovery is going so well.  Gland the tylenol is all you need.  Sounds like you're on the fast track.

Jean, I hope all goes well with your mom tomorrow.  I hope your sister's thing is just that a thing.  Went through the same thing with my cousin over the weekend.  They want to biopsy something things they are seeing in both breasts. So she's pretty anxious.  This thing is like a curse.  My aunt is just finished and her hair is finally back, my sis-in-law's thing turned out to be nothing thank heavens but now she on the every 6 month plan.  Now my cousin.  Jeeze!  So I am praying for your and your family, mine and everyone else's here.  Just asking for a leg up Jesus.  So all too natural to feel overwhelmed, I wish I could take it off you.

I'm adjusting to quitting my job day two and I'm playing the second guessing game.  So I'm going to go to my first ever support group tomorrow!  Wish me luck and hope I don't monopolize the 2 hours!

Wishing you all the best night.

    Tina

Jean - OMG.  I can't believe your sister got the recalled mammogram.  Let's hope it is nothing - like most women and they are just being careful.  Good luck on the MRI - and the appt tomorrow.  Can't wait to see what you think of my oncl and surgeon.

Tina - did you quit your job?  I missed that.  I'm sorry your cousin is dealing with biopsies too.  I hope you enjoy the support group.

Your families will be in my thoughts and prayers.  My sister (40 this month) FINALLY went in for her first mammogram.  I have been bugging her since my diagnosis.  I think hers was fine - no call back. But, so were mine for 4 years!

    Hi everyone,

Tina--so sorry to hear about your cousin. The waiting is the worst part!! It must feel like there is a curse on your family. I missed the part about you quitting your job too--how's that feeling? How was the support group?

Thank goodness the abnormality on my sister's mammogram turned out to be nothing on the compression views and US--that was a huge relief!!!

Just returned from a whirlwind day of tests--my mom had an echocardiogram (VM) and breast MRI (SCCA)  and I met with genetics and had my BRCA drawn (GH). I could write a review of the various parking garages and bathrooms ;)
