HI Neesie, I used to go every Thurs for fills, but I'm done with those. I have a preop appt on June 29 or 30, I believe - I'll have to check -- then my exchange surgery is scheduled for July 14.  That's an outpatient procedure.  Then I'll have some post op visits too, not to mention when I figure out what to do with my nips - I'll have more visits then.  :)    too bad I'm done with my fills or I'd say let's figure out a way to meet.  Maybe we'll have an oppty on my pre op day.  I'll double check the date and PM you , ok?  Sue

    Attention WINGS OF HOPE!

I screwed up packing the t-shirts! I just read the directions for packing the shirts and it said that the survivors get pink bibs. I'm thinking, huh, what's that about?

They mean that the race numbers will be pink for the survivors. I can guarantee that I messed up the white and pinks since I was only keeping track that the survivors get the pink t-shirts and hats! Please check your packages and let me know how many I messed up. We will have to swap at the race!

So sorry! I feel like such an air head!CryYellEmbarassed

    Evening ladies,

It was good to see those on Sunday.  Rick remarked how nice everyone was but wondered if he was going to be the only husband!  I told him it didn't matter, I needed him to walk w/me.  I think we will have fun.

Since we have not be down there on race day I don't want to make any assumptions but he wondered if it might be a good idea to leave even earlier than 6:00.  I know sometimes that if a group plans on meeting at one time, it can be 10 - 15 min later before they leave.  Nancy had mentioned that time was short last year so I just was throwing it out.  We will go with the majority.  I know he is one that would rather have extra time than running late.  I know I would rather be able to park a little closer rather than farther away, altho after 3 miles, what's a few more blocks.

Sue, we will be practically be driving past your house.  We could easily go east on 6 to Middlebelt then south if you would like us to just pick you up.  Just let me know, it would be no problem.  We will go home before going to the open house later in the day so we would be happy to drop you back home so you wouldn't have to worry about a car.

Haven't started on my shirt.  Recovered today after helping Rick yesterday plant 9 new bushes in the front of house.  That was after the cemetary and picking out the plants at English Gardens.  What a madhouse!!!  I think everyone in the area decided to plant.  Ended up w/a headache just making a decision about what to plant.  It looks really nice though.  Since they are all perenials, it will mean no more planting every year then having them die.  That will be a real bonus even though it seemed like it was alot it seemed right off the bat.  We then got 50 bags of mulch tonight.  Lots and lots of fun over the next few days.  Looks nice when it's all done.

Have a great evening.  3 days and counting!

    Blessings,

    Wendy

    Hi all,

Are you still meeting at the Meijer at Middlebelt & 96? Did you decide on a time? I am a procrastinator but do plan on attending with my daughter. Would like to meet if that is still the plan.

    Hi Nancy,

I have one of those white bibs.  Ricks' is also white but it is supposed to be.  I will have to have mine switched.  Thank you so much for all you did so that we could have our packages.

    Blessings,

Hello Jan - Yes, we will meet at Meijer's on Middlebelt just South of I96. See you there.  Did you sign up at New Balance?  You can sign up at the site also if you didn't.

Let's plan to meet before 6:00 a.m. to hoof it out of the lot by 6 sharp.  Does that work for everyone?  Should we do it earlier?  So, be there around 5:45 to shuffle cars and people.

I think we all got the wrong bibs (numbers) so we can switch out in the parking lot.  Just don't pin them to your shirt until we get that situated.

I'll try to get ahold of everyone by email when I get home tonight.  (I'm at work - busted!)

    Wendy & Chris -  check your PM's

Wendy - Would love to drive with you - that will save me from my biggest problem first thing in the morning - being conscious enough to be safe on the road. So, maybe, 5:30 at my house and then...

I have a pink number, so I don't have to swap, but it sounds like we should meet everybody at 5:45, get your number, and pick a place to get together.  Nancy - don't feel bad about this - it just helps the rest of us not feel quite so inadequate.  Back at work, eh?

Neesie - we actually have a guest house behind our house - Maybe we should all have a sleep-over!

Jan I am so glad you are meeting up with us. When I told my DD that we were getting together about 6AM, the look of horror on her face was priceless.

    Love you all!

Val - Congrats on your mamo results! Your grandbabies sound adorable.

Will try my best to be at Meijer at 5:45 AM looks like I will be leaving here around 4:00ish. I am at least 1 1/2 hours away from Livonia and want to allow time for traffic/backups/getting lost.....ha

I don't even want to think about what time I need to get up.........where was the bunk house? LOL

Gotta leave the house but wanted to let Nancy now that I have a PINK bib!  Luck of the draw for me!

The bunk house is 6 Mile and Middlebelt.

We have an older home, and some artist or other who once owned the place added a studio with a sleeping loft, kitchen, and bath to the property.

I keep telling DD she can move out any time she wants, but right now, all it has is my exercise bike.

Wow Val, I'm sorry I missed your post. Congratulations!

I had a mammo one year out, nothing at 6 months. I feel a lot safer now that I've had my one year one (and am closing on a 6-month MRI).

It's so nice to see that Nothing is found.

Congratulations Val.  I want some grandbabies! I think you were going to bed when Wings and I were probably waking up with insomnia. (Not together, that didn't sound right)

Wings - I just found the pictures you added to the shutterfly site!  They are great and the comments are too funny!  Expecially the Energizer Bunny - and the one of you & your daughter.

Anyone hear from Chris?  Hope everythings ok.

Judy, your post sounds like you were celebrating a wee bit too much.

Sue, your bunk house sound like the perfect little hide away.  I'd think your daughter would jump at the chance to be on her own even if it's still close to the family.

Get some rest everyone and start charging your phones and cameras.  I have notes all over the place to remember things.

I read somewhere that they are going to do the announcements at the top of Hockey Town this year.  Must mean that Ford isn't sponsoring as much.  Hope they clear out in time for us to get in there!  I know that Ford had to when they reserved the place.

I'm looking for some help in finding a store where I can get a bra.  I had a double mas with TRAM flap reconstruction 4/13/09 & am having an awful time trying to find a bra that I can wear.  Does anyone know of a store near either Lansing or Grand Rapids that I can look?  Thanks!

Welcome Deb.   I did a quick search and this site comes up....

    http://www.lansingbusinessmonthly.com/article_read.asp?articleID=2951

It sounds like a good place and it's in a Lansing, the article is May 2009.  It might be worth a try if you can figure out where it is.  No address given there.

I was sent to a specialty shop in Plymouth but had better luck at Kohl's and Penney's where they have a huge selection.   I didn't have a mast though but had a problem with lack of symmetry. Good luck.  Hopefully someone else will have a suggestion in your area.

Nancy, I hadn't realized my typing was so bad, it does read like a bit too much partying!!

Deb- ask at your Hospital? That's how I found out about the great place here in Livonia.

Nancy, I have lists and lists for Saturday. And you just reminded me to get batteries for my camera, it eats them up!

I know I'll have a hard time getting to sleep tomorrow night- I'm excited to see everyone again. I hope Chris is all right. I miss her at our get togethers (I know she lives a long way away;( )

I won't be meeting you at the Meijer's, but I'll find you somewhere downtown :D

    Good evening all,

Wings, your shirt is BEAUTIFUL!!!!  Starting mine first thing in AM.  Can everyone say "procrastinator"???  I'm just afraid that with it supposed to be such a cold morning, I'm going to end up covering it up with my BC fleece.  I can show it off at lunch.

Sue, its a go for 5:30.  We could give you a call when we leave the house if you would like.  Please PM me with your address though.  I think I know which house it is when you described it but I'd rather not drive up in the wrong driveway at 5:30 am on a Saturday.  If you want to give me your phone # that would be great too.  Glad it worked out OK.  One less car in that parking lot is a good thing.  I'm planning to put my little 'pink ribbon' on the antennae.

We will still have 3 seats open in the van if anyone else would like to ride w/us.  Just got the new van today but plan on keeping the old one thru the next month since payment has been made & we still have 10,000 miles, so I'm sure we will take that one.  Anyone want to go on a road trip?

Looking so forward to Saturday but really wish I had done ALOT more walking ahead of time.  I'm counting on excitement and emotion to propel me over the 3 miles.  I know the trolley is there if I was desperate, they wouldn't leave me lying in the street, but I'm determined to make it the whole way.  I'm so excited already, I can't imagine what it's going to be like on Saturday!!!!!!  See everyone then, bright and early.

    Blessings,

    Wendy

Wow - lots to catch up on around here.  Can't wait to see everyone on Saturday!

Nancy - I'm so sorry about Bella.  That's so sad.  Hope you're doing okay.

Neesie - I've been sending lots of positive vibes your way for you and your DH.

I haven't tried my shirt on yet, but I'm getting worried reading about them being narrower this year, since I'm not.  Like that they're longer, though.  Mine will also be plain since I don't do well on things like that.

     See everyone on Saturday!

Wendy - Thanks on the shirt. That would be great if I could reserve a seat. After my long early morning trek a break from driving would be refreshing. Neesie may be looking to car pool also unless she has already made other arrangements? I'm sure she will be here later to confirm.

Irene - Decorating my shirt was as simple as holding an iron.....it is all iron on transfers from Micheal's. That's about as talented as I get......ha

Wanted to shout out a couple of thank yous.

Nancy - Big thank you for being "captain". Thank you for herding us in the right direction and for all of your time that you put into organizing us. You rock!

JudyRock - Thank you for making our boppers and our new little honor signs. You ROCK too!

Iris - bearlysane - from NC who donated to Wings of Hope and will be walking with us in spirit tomorrow. You are beary special!

    Evening to all!

7:50p...........shouldn't we all be in bed!

Thanks for the offer Wendy and Bonnie for relaying it to me....................I'm really copping out with the driving......I'm meeting Nancy on 23 and Territorial and going with her from there!  Don't know if that is on your way or not Bonnie.........but sure Nancy wouldn't mind if you want to drop your car there.

I second all of the Thanks that Bonnie put out!  Tomorrow will be a great day once we all get there and wake up!  I don't drink coffee but thinking I might slug down a couple of cokes to get going!

Charged the camera, got the phone, boppers and bib #, lovely hat..........back sack so I don't have to worry about a purse.........................what am I forgetting?

Yes, Iris has sent a picture all decked out in the 'walkers gear'...............she is ready to rock and roll long distance!

    See you all tomorrow!

Neesie - I'm here had to take a nap as soon as I got home......must be tried out from our dancing on stage. Great to hang out with you again....although I followed you around in circles most of the morning LOL. Hope DH had a good day.

Irene - Hope Neesie and I did not embarrass you to much....it was all in fun. My little side trip on the way home to Grand Traverse Pie company was so worth the stop. The strawberry/ruubarb crumb top pie was to die for. That should be our next get together site. I know of one in Ann Arbor off of Zeeb Road.....hint hint.

Wendy - Thanks again to you and DH for car pooling. Your DH was a good sport to put up with all the girl talk.

Sue - I enjoyed watching you in awe of the day. Your pure heart felt emotions can be seen on the inside and out and I admire you for being the real deal. Walking down the pink carpet was our day to shine.

Nancy - Thanks for guiding me in the right direction.....again! You have a great group of supportive friends and it was nice meeting them again.

Chris - Nice seeing you again. Next visit we will have pictures of our Grandbabies to share!

JanDun - It was nice meeting you and your daughter.....she is a cutie. Hope you can join us again sometime.

JudyRock - Should we start calling you JudyStewert after Martha for all your neat crafts? Thanks again for the neat necklace and butterfly sticks. How did your friends think of the walk?

Had to come back and edit as my keyboard froze and I had to send before I lost post.

I had a great time today. I felt so empowered! WOW...but 30,000 people and only 1500 survivors? I was kind of surprised and a little freaked out by that. Not sure what to think about that.

Sue-you were so kind and sweet. Thank you for making me feel so welcome.

Thank you for the bopper.I had fun wearing it.

You all seem like great, strong, fun, women. I was happy to meet you all and hope to get to know you all better in the future.
