Congratulations Gail on finishing rads! I am so glad to hear that you are all right.
ONE treatment to go. Skin is a very dark red. The nurse at the rad onc said it will probably peel when I am done.
Fatigue is still major. I just slept all afternoon and am still tired.
Tom gave me a very soft pink teddy bear today. I hugged it all afternoon.
Have a great Memorial DAy weekend!

Hey Everyone,
Hope you're ready for the long weekend. I know I am!
Gail-congrats on the end of rads. I am so happy to hear your good news from the other doc. I was worried about you!!
Bette-hang in there-one more to go!!
Corinne-have a nice visit this weekend. You are melting away to nothing!! I don't know how you are being so good about what you are eating. I eat pretty healthy, but I couldn't cut out the sugar like you have.
Stacy-so good to see you pop back here-is the school year finished? Any news on moving?
Mamakaren-I bet that was invigorating to get on the horse.
As for me, I just got done with Herceptin #15-3 more to go-should be finished by 7/23. That will be a happy day!!
Deen-what surgery do you have coming up?
Finally, LaShon, I have been thinking about you. I hope you are doing well. YOu are a strong woman!!

Hi, all ~ Just wanted to wish everyone a great holiday weekend! Gail, I am thrilled that you're done with rads, and more thrilled to hear your other news. (I almost called you today, but figured you'd be leaving town for the weekend. If you'll be around, maybe we can get together.) Since the Arimidex hasn't been implicated in your tummy pain, are you thinking of going back on it?
I saw my onc yesterday, and was flabbergasted at his congenial and supportive response to my not wanting to take Femara or any other A/I. I posted his comments yesterday on the "natural girls" thread if anyone's interested. I also had my first mammo since last year's dx today, and they had me wait while a doctor looked at the films. When they gave me the all-clear 20 mins. later, I felt like I was going to cry, but I settled for hugging the sweet mammo tech who gave me the news. Between my onc's blessing not to do an A/I and a clear mammo, I feel like a kid who's just been let out on the last day of school!
Bette ~ You're almost there! I actually wondered if they'd let you out of doing the last one today due to the holiday weekend. And congrats to Tom on the new job!
Corinne ~ 98 lbs.?! My gosh, what did you start at? You must be so strict about what you're doing. You'll have to learn to bake wholesome bread that fits into your diet.
Have a safe & enjoyable holiday weekend everyone ~ Deanna

Ugh pressed the enter key and have to retype again!
Well my mammo went okay. It was funny because as the tech was imaging my rt. foob, I was thinkin "Okay..doesn't hurt as bad as last time". Well when she did the left, ouch! Now I'm waiting on results and bracing myself for a call back. Wish me luck girls. I can't wait until my DMX.
Roya: Cardioke is this really fun cardio workout in conjunction with Karioke! Billy Blanks Jr. does the program. There is this wonderful inspiring song at the end. So on point with our journey.
Deen: Good Luck with your Oophorectomy! You're a trooper girlie. My surgeon stated I need to get that done too but I'm afraid. My CA 125 was a 9 (in normal range). He told me I could wait until I finished menopause but I think I'll do it sooner. Right now I'm focused on the DMX. Please keep me posted...
Corrine: Have a wonderful trip visiting your son! I'm sure you will be such a motivation at the Ladies Seminar and do great.
Bette: You're almost there! Congrats..
and finally: Gail: WhooHoo! You're done with RADS and with great news! Terrible the Dr's misdiagnosed you and made you worry. But at least you have a better perception of what's really going on.
Keep plugging along w/the Herceptin Misty- 7/23 (My wedding anniversary) will be here before you know it!
Here's something to relish girls when you're feeling down and need a pick me up. (Courtesy of Cardioke)
YOU ARE ENOUGH
YOU ARE ENOUGH
YOU ARE EXACTLY WHERE YOU NEED TO BE
TIMES MAY BE TOUGH- BUT WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THROUGH
IS ALREADY IN YOU
Okay I know it's cheesy but it's right on point.
Wishing you all a wonderful Memorial weekend.Salute to our troops!
Jeannine

Gail~ I am so thrilled for you and once again the good Lord above has used you as proof that he is a miracle worker. I guess we just have to believe. SOOOOOOO Happy. I guess i would feel mad at the docs for all the agonizing stress but then at the same time i'd probably just let it go and count my blessing. You go girl! go ride your horse!
I must have messed up on my post I'm sorry. I meant to say I was ridding my friends horse. Sorry Hood1980.

So happy about the holiday tomorrow, and no rads. The LAST tx is Tuesday. I plan to rest most of the day to conserve energy for my course at college which is from 6 PM to 9:45 PM. Yikes! What was I thinking?
Have a great Memorial Day everyone!

Wishing everyone a happy and safe Memorial Day. God bless those who gave their lives in war and peace. God bless all our ancestors. Blessings to all.

Hello Ladies,
It HAS been a while. I am sitting in my moms house down in N.C. My cancer decided to grow on me,,damned thing,,,and was in my brain. There were 3 tumors. 2 Very large and 1 very small. The larger one was right on my cerebellum. I was throwing my guts up for days. I had NO idea. PLEASE get your heads scanned. I hadn't had one since Aug (diagnosed then). I went in for a scan due to headaches and then puking. It was VERY scarey,,but AGAIN my faith is strong,,,and I WILL keep fighting. Anyone heard of the Gama Knife? Its rads for the brain. I don't want my whole head to be radiated. So the Gama Knife will go dirrectly to where it needs to be. Besides that it literally has to be screwed onto my head with scews
Anyways,,ALL of you,,,,I have went to church and know that I have been healed. I had that devil prayed out and now am walking around FILLED with Holy Spirit FIRE
I don't really think the tumors is there anymore. I will let you all know
My husband had a BIG wake up when I woke up from brain surgery, and LITERALLY kicked him out of my room,, and life. My whole family has been here for me. Packed up my whole apt,,,moved it here for me,,unloaded it. And My precious daughter is HERE with me. I am in church again,,,and going strong, I have my family around me and I am doing this
I have NO side effects from the surgery THANKYOU JESUS. There should not be any from the Gamma knife either. I had thought Iwoke up in a space ship. And everyone around me was trying to get me to realize it was time for my hubby to STOP using me. He still calls thinking I will drop everything and go back. CRAZY.
All of you. There is soooo much growth in all of this. I am happy. A bit afraid. But its slowly going away. In the begining I was strong and faithful. After I found out my hubby was using again allllll I did was worry about him. Soooooo much I created those darn things in my head
I have been thru Hell. But I will keep fighting . The Gamma Knife is one day,,,three days later NEW BOOBS (consult anyways:). I HAVE got to do something that is going to make this better. And having some boobs will
I have nothing to worry about now. My dad has paid off my 12,000 car. And the $ I get from SSI is enough now. I am happy and walking VERY CLOSE with God. The Lord IS my shepard
Love you ALL. Lisa ps. My mother has been here with me the WHOLE time. She is wonderful
-
Lisahugs, I will keep you my prayers along with Lashon. Do you remember her from our group? She is on Facebook and I sent her your post and hopefully she will contact you too. She has brain mets and back in treatment. All my love & support goes out to you & your family. Joyce
-
Lisahugs, so nice to hear from you. I'm so sorry for all the troubles you have had to go through. My prayers are with you. I will ask my onc about the scans, as I never had another since my biopsy.
Hope everyone has a great week,
Deen
-
Lisa ~ So good to hear from you. I've thought about you often, and I am so sorry to learn about the 3 new lesions. That gamma knife treatment is very high tech stuff. Will you be staying in NC for that and your reconstruction surgery? Hope so, as you sound really happy to be with your parents now, and I'm sure they love having you and your daughter there. How's she doing? Please post a picture of her when you can. And please let us know exactly when those two procedures are scheduled, so that we all can be praying for you. (((Hugs))) to you and to everyone ~ Deanna

Wow, I had a great time in Mystic. We did not have internet access so i am catching up. Karen, I am so happy you were on a horse!!! Isn't it the greatest? Went horseback riding yesterday at a training school for 2 hours. FUN!! My horse was brought to someone yesterday for the whole week to get cart trained. This is not the samd place that I rode yesterday. I will miss him all week.
Gail: Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Done at last!!! I am so happy for you!!! EXTREMELY happy about all your results.
Karen: Did you get to go back on your Herceptin? If not when is your next muga test?
Jeannine: Also, what a relief that must be for you on your mammo
Bette: Wow, today is your last day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is such a mile marker.
Lisa, thank you for updating us. We have been praying for you and mentioning you from time to time. I know that you have had many set backs in your life. Yes, all of this has been a tremendous learning experience. Can you believe that I have thanked the Lord for the opportunity he has given me to reach out and know what others are going through in a more personal way. I know now more than I could have ever known that the hardest part of cancer has been the mind games. It has been very difficult to learn to live one day at a time. I never lived like that before. When someone would tell me that I would look at them and think "How on earth do I do that? They obviously haven't done it." I have also learned that my strength come from the Word. The verses that have been there all along now have tremendously more meaning than ever before. Lve you Lisa in the Lord and will CONTINUE to pray for you.
My diet is no sugar, except one treat once a week, no wheat, no mammals, no oranges, no soy,no white flour, white potatoes, and very little flax. I eat a protien drink at breakfast with a banana, apple, berries.nuts, and I throw in cabbage and olive oil. I also have oatmeal, (glutten free) with raisins. For lunch I have an egg or some chicken with 2 cups of salad, another protein drink, and a couple slices of glutten free bread. . For supper I have fish or chicken, salad, veg and beans, or brown rice or a sweet potatoe. Today I am making chili with ground growth hormone free chicken. Mmmm
I am experimenting on how on earth to make glutten free bread because it is 4.99 per loaf at the health food store.
Want to know more about reconstructive surgery. What type of surgery are you all doing and why? I am just starting to research

Hello Gail (and All!) Please forgive me for popping in here, but I just had to say hello. My name is Kaye (KatoMato) and I started the "Anyone starting chemo August 07" thread. I saw that Gail is from MY TOWN (I knew there HAD to be more of us on the board than just me!). Our dx are very similar so, Gail, I pm'd you to say Hi.
um. Hi!
I'm glad you all are (mostly) completed with tx - Well Done! Now, I guess we're all living in the "light at the end of the tunnel!" i don't know what I would have done without this board - and the sisters who went through chemo with me...and I know you all agree.
So, Carry On! Thanks for letting me interrupt ~ I just wanted to tell Gail to check her PM's.!
Kaye

Hope everyone had a peaceful and wonderful weekend. I am glad to hear from you Lisa and can feel your strength and joy! Take good care of yourself.
Jeannine, glad you got the mammo and all is well.
Bette, Congrats on being finished - great feeling isn't it?? No more daily drive!
Corinne, good luck with that new bread - and your diet sounds so healthy and inspires me!
Karen, glad you went riding - I can picture you on that horse.
Deen, when's the surgery? - thinking of you.
Kaye, hey, hometown girl - I PM'd you, too. Look forward to meeting you.
Roya, Paris in the spring was one of my favorite trips. Home you're doing well!
I'm enjoying, FINALLY, a worry free time having checked out ALL the reports and found no real threat to my peace of mind - just alarmists doc reports. I've learned a lot and am feeling great.
A happy spring day to everyone!
Gail

Hi there,
Lisa: It's so good to hear from you! I've been thinking of you often. How's that beautiful baby girl doing? I'm so sorry to hear your news but you are a fighter.. so keep fighting girl! Yes the Lord will get you through this. I'm praying for you.
Bette: Congratulations on finishing RADS. You did it!
Well I haven't heard anything back yet from my mammo yet so no news is good news? I'm still worried about that rash too. Ugh.
Hello to you Kaye! Welcome to our Hot Baldy group (even though most of us have hair now!)
Nice pic Allibug of you and your daughter.
Prayers & Hugs,
Jeannine

Hi all!
On the last day of rads, Tom met me in the waiting room with a pink rose and the news that he had taken off work, just to be with me on that special day. He then drove us home and made a yummy lunch.
I started school last night and I think this course is going to be interesting and not overly difficult. Just spent some time doing homework!. Returning to school is a big step for me in getting on with life after BC.
Saw my onc today, and she put me on Femara. I have to get a Dexa-scan and take lots of calcium plus D. Also have to get another CT scan of my chest to check out the "spot" on my lung they saw earlier this month. I found out today it has been there since October, but don't remember them telling me. I will try to put it on the back burner for now and not worry too much.
Lisa, you will be in my prayers.
Thanks to all for the congrats!

Hello gals.
Corrine~ I had a doc appt today and they still haven't got my results back. I really can't believe that the cardiologist hasn't dictated my results. I should know sometime this week .
How can i put some pictures on here?? My daughter put my picture on here but she moved out and haven't asked her how she did it.
Everyone is my prayers always.
-
Going for my second back on Herceptin today!!! Karen, my dr's get the results right away like in the same day. Did they loose yours? I am just about ready for my RI speaking this weekend. I am starting to get a litttttttttttttllllle apprehensive. Anyhow, just to let you know that I am praying for each one of you. Some verses that I am closing my testimony with are found in Psalm 119:71 and 72. "It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes: The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver." I have learned so much through all this as I am sure you all have too. I am hoping to get my testimony on a cd. Some of the dr's and nurses would like a copy. What an outreach to a lost world.
-
Sorry to keep changing my pictures girls but I went last night for a REAL haircut and my niece did an AWESOME job. I was so excited I took a picture to share with everyone!!!!!
-
alibug, your hair looks awesome!
Corinne, thanks for your prayers. Blessings on your speech in RI!
I am dealing with painful cracks in my skin right now. It hurts even to get water on it in the shower. Fortunately I know from the experiences of all you who have gone before me that this too shall pass.
Homework is done for today. All ready for school tonight.
Hugs to all!

Hello ladies,
I just got back from my moms b-day gathering. All our family had dinner at my nanas house I paid for some Mariachis to sing for my mom, It was worth it. The smile and tears of joy on my moms face was priceless!! We danced and laughed alot.
Lisa- I'm praying for you all the time. Love ya!
Corrine- I don't know what the heck is going on but i already told them that they need to do something soon. I don't want to miss out on any treatment that could be saving my life. I would always complain about Herceptin but if it weren't for Herceptin alot of us wouldn't be here.
alibug05- Your hair looks cute. My hair is the same length as yours but haven't felt comfortable without my wig. I always had beautiful curly long hair and i look like a completly different person. But you look really good with that hair style.
I'm beat today was a longggg day. I really feeel blessed to have celebrated my moms birthday. Lots of prayers and positive vibes to all.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!! We have an annual basketball tournament (Gus Macker) here in town and of course Ali and Gunner both play in it!!!! Then I am off to spend Saturday evening with my friend that turns 40!!!!!!! Loves to all..................

Hey Everybody,
Time seems to be flying lately.
Bette, great news finishing your rads-congrats!!
Lisa, so sorry to hear your latest news-keeping my fingers crossed for a successful surgery.
Alibug, your hair is soooo cute!!! Are you straightening it or is it already straight? I have to pull my waves and curls out every morning before going to work. People say you will lose this wave at some point, but I'm like WHEN??????!!!!! Have fun celebrating your friend's b'day.
Mamakaren, you need to ditch the wig-I bet you look great with short hair.
Corinne, I am so happy you are back on the Herceptin.
Hope everyone is doing something fun this weekend-it is going to be nice and sunny here, so I'll be found lying by a pool. I am counting down to the last day of school-15 more days!!!!

Hey, girls ~ Just popping in to wish everyone a great weekend. Alibug, love your hair! Mine is still growing straight up (what's with that?), and it's too much trouble to fuss with it. So, I'm still living in baseball caps. I actually threw some color on it recently, but it came out sort of a weird reddish brown -- not at all what I was after. I may have to break down and get it professionally styled and colored soon. For now, I'm just happy to have hair again!
Karen ~ So glad you had such a wonderful birthday celebration for your Mom. That had to have lifted her spirits! Is she doing chemo now? How's she handling that?
Bette ~ I'm so impressed that you've gone back to school! Good for you! You've probably told us in the past what you're studying, but I've forgotten (still have a touch of chemo brain, I'm afraid). What class are you taking?
Corinne ~ Love the verse you shared. Good luck this weekend! I know you'll do great!
(((Hugs))) to everyone ~ Deanna

Deanna, I'm going for a degree in Computer Information Science. My course this session is Business Communications. The professor is interesting and it is going well so far.
It is pouring rain outside, but inside we had a dinner with candlelight and wine, cooked and served by Tom. I have to pinch myself sometimes that I'm married to a guy like him.
My radiation burn is starting to flake and peel; the skin underneath is a lot softer than the "leather" on top.
Tom will be working tomorrow, so I will study.
Have a great weekend, all
Bette

Hi Everyone,
Looking forward to a great weekend - my DH has been out of town so I polished the Mexican tiles on the floors for 3 days! Wish you all could come by & dance on them!
Bette - My rad doc recommended a Vitamin E cream, 28,000 unit made by Colonial Dames (yea, weird name) but awesome product. My skin is looking great & healthy using it.
Deanna - I added some color to my straight up hair, too! Still experimenting! Wanna compare? I think I got the pool chlorine effect, too!
Misty - I know you love the poolside - your tan was awesome. Makes me happy to think school's out soon for you - that's how I feel after rads were over - FREE!
Karen, Mariachis - what a great idea for your Mom & to celebrate! I love it.
Corinne, how's the cart training going - I can see my horse tearing down the road with a flying cart behind - would love to see the training process!
Lisa - thinking of you everyday. And this week, of course! We're here and all will go well. (((hugs))))
Sunny days to everyone,
Gail
