A friend of my mother just offered me some donated air miles. I don't know exactly how that would work. I have my own that might. If I could just get a free rental car I would start making plans. I want to come soooooooooooooooooo bad again this year.
-
Lefty,
we try to get things donated, last year we had a quilt, the first year we had a bra quilt. thanks to sherloc...lol and things from companies... save the tatas send us stuff, Susan Komen , etc.. We auction them off and we donate the $$$.. its fun.. I am having a group make a little quilt.. and will contact the tata people this year.. any one is welcome to do it, you can have the stuff sent right to my house..
the goodie bags were fun too..
BMD.. I know you can work this out...hugs
anyone else who needs help getting here let us know.. maybe we can find a "car pool"..
I may be able to arrange pick up & delivery to the airport if you want...and once you get to the hill no need to leave...
hugs to all

I plan on driving up from DC and I have a smelly station wagon - but we can put the windows down and go rolling down the road. Not sure How long it will take me, but I have little else to do and don't have to juggle work or family or pets.
Thanks MB for the info. I used to have lots of contacts for donations before I moved. I Ran a senior center and got donations for door prizes for holiday parties and for school fund raisers. One little Jewish man just LOVED me and had a chocolate shop and bakery. Since I am allergic to chocolate he took pity on me and gave me bags of hard candy and at least one shopping bag of chocolate goodies. The hardware store once gave me a dozen flash lights. Sounds weird, but they are useful. I will keep my eyes open and if I can help, pm me.
-
MB - I had to laugh at your note..."Another NOTE.. there are MANY dead spots with No Cell signal, so make sure your directions don't fly out the window... " Thanks for not outing me!
Yes folks. I confess... DH was driving and I opened the window to take a pic of the beautiful surrounding when.....poof...the wind sucked the paper (along with the directions to MB's house) out the window. Then we had the "dead spots" to deal with. What a riot!! All in all...it was well worth it! We loved every minute of it and are ready to do it again this year.
We love you MB!
Lefty - flashlights would come in handy!
-
Odalys, are you suggesting packing a flashlight ? I keep one in my car and a small one in my purse. Have a good weekend. HUGS, Nancy
-
hehehehe.. sorry Odalys...thought I'd better let people know we are a little back woodsy here...lol.. we have never seen the Verizon guy in our neck of the woods...lol
I'll let the boys that Jose will be attending this year too!! better get the cars ready
Lefty.. what ever you get we can auction,
hugs from the hill

Good for you, MB. You are a dear to get this organized and on track. I have not been able to stir up anyone else around here, but I am not defeated yet. My car will hold 4 passengers if they want to ride along with me. I hope we have a good crowd and of course the camper man and his wife are welcome. See ya soon, Nancy
-
MB, Maureen and I would love to stay in a trailer if you have extra! We are definitely coming! I will probably not send in the form and the $$ until May because I got a 15% pay cut for April, so I am going to be short on cash this month! They are supposed to restore 10% of that for May, so hopefully the situation will be better then!
Who else is coming??? Last year was SO much fun. It is such a blessing to be able to meet everyone in person...it really strengthens the connections and provides gobs of positive energy to take back home!
MB, you are the best! Let me know what I can do. I am already planning to do a Philly basket. I haven't done anything about the embellished bra yet, though...still not sure exactly what to do there....
*Hugs* to everyone!

I was looking at airline tickets the other day on Expedia. I found roundtrip from San Diego for $249. I went back 5 minutes later and they were up to $349. Still thinking about coming but doubting it. I just wish it was closer to my reunion date.
-
This is gonna be fun!! Can't wait!!! I'm pretty sure my sister and I are coming. Had my 5th chemo (1st one on Taxol), and MAN WAS I SCARED!! I was jittery, shaky, queasy, felt like my stomach was dry heaves, felt tingly sensation through my body as if it was waking up after it fell asleep. I started crying because I was scared. I was afraid my heart may have started palpatating, but thank God that didn't happen. The nurses gave me a high dose of Benadryl, and that caused the jitters, but they're gonna lower the dose for next time!!! My sister managed to massage my feet and legs to calm me, and it worked!!!
-
I won't be attending this year, but will be sending some things. Everyone should experience Pinkstock. It is something you will not only enjoy, but remember forever. MB and her family are so great. I miss seeing my little girls (MB's granddaughters).
If you can manage it, plan on attending. I will experience it all through your photos.
Hugs
