PINKSTOCK 2009

I found 2 padded bras on clearance at Target $2.18 each. One is polka dots and the other is yellow with strawberries on it. I have to think up some sort of embellishment for each, but thought they were perfect for this project.
-
Lefty - they sound perfect.
MB - had to laugh at your post about us wearing them on the outside of our clothes.
I better put on my thinking cap.
-
Since my tram I don't have any bras LOL. If I get to come to New York again I will be shopping at Target.
-
I found a whse. today selling scrapbooking stuff. I bought a bunch of stuff - I think I need a glue gun!!

To anyone who hasn't attended Pinkstock....... it is one of the most wonderful experiences you will have. MB and her family are very welcoming and so great. I highly recommend the trip.
MB..... love you girl...... see you sometime.
The bra's sound great. I'll have to get a basket and bra together for you all.
Hugs, Liz

I was wondering where all the Pinkstock discussion was! I am glad I stopped by!
I am not very artsy, so I am not sure about the whole embellished bra thing?? Maybe someone can post some ideas...
Odalys, salsa dancing sounds awesome!
Maureen and I are definitely coming...this year we are simplifying to keep expenses down...we are leaving DHs and kids at home...bringing just a guitar and our voices for songs around the campfire!
*Hugs*

Oh Kristin now I have to find a way. Maybe I will just come for the week-end and leave everyone in CA. Yeah right.
-
Hi Kristin! How are you? I was thinking about you the other day and remembering the lovely concert you gave us last year. Songs by the camp fire sounds great.
-
I cannot carry a tune in a basket, but I can mouth the words. I have a small portable CD player and a decent variety of music - jazz, rock, disco, golden oldies and even Christmas with Bing Crosby !!!
When I went to my first widowed gathering, we had it in the month of July and called it Christmas in July, with one of the men dressing up as Santa, and (small) gift exchange. It was a LOT of fun.
Would it be ok to post a notice on my chemo infusion place bulletin board about this gathering? It is not a long drive from here and many do not go onto the computer or to this site. I would need a refresher for the exact dates and location.
BTW, who was gonna check on hotels? Or did I not write it down ... again !!!
-
Kristin...whoo hoo... check out www.quiltersofsc.org/artfullbras/artfullbras.htm these are great...
my bra will be the flower child theme
Ok I am looking into the hotel in Cuba, NY to see if they will give me rates..last year the other local rates were higher than you could book online!!!!
Lefty... my darling DIL is making a notice (invitation).. I will email it to you so you can print it out and post it...
lol... she thinks its not a long drive...lol... just remember don't google my address !!!!!
to all those with cell phones. the service has improved greatly..along as you dont go to crazy Bob's no service there...lol...
hugs to all
-
Thanks mb, I will pm my email address for the invite. You are doing a wonderful thing by hosting this. HUGS

momof4star
Pinkstock started in 2007. A bunch of crazy women from these boards met up at purplemb's house in NY state for a long weekend. She has a beautiful piece of land that she gracoiusly lets us borrow for 3 days. lol She gets campers to sleep in or you can stay at an area hotel. We sit around and talk, drink and just have fun!! I went last year and had a blast! Kristen even supplied the music - which was unbelievable. I would recommend it highly.
Hope to see you there.

Bethie.. keep up the good work..
Dear Momof4star..well most people jst call me the nut on the hill.. but I do love to throw parties.. and I have been known to invite strangers to come stay at my home!!!! My family cooks and provides what we can... the best part is the love.. my FAMILY has grown by leaps and bounds... oh yeah and maybe a visit by Crazy Bob... and a fire that you won't soon forget.
Anyway... if you are thinking of a trailer this year ..please let me know so I can start begging..
take care and keep your calendar open.. I will update the registration form(again)...lol
MB..the nut on the hill
-
MB...what is the exact date again? I really, really want to come!!
-
ok.. its July 31, Aug 1 & 2 Friday Sat Sun....
-
hi all...
MB...remember our Florida temporary Henna tattoo's...guess what...I got a kit and have learned the "art"....look out Pinkstock girls. I am trying to come up with a design that will be quick and easy so we can all have a temporary tattoo. I will not be using black henna as it contains harmful chemicals. I am ordering Jagua "ink" which is made from fruit and totally natural.
I have a local thrift shop that is going to donate bra's for those of us who don't have any so we don't have to buy new ones to decorate. I have three that I am working on now and the local Council for the Arts has offered to do an exhibit and sale fo the bra's. The proceeds will go to cancer research of one sort or another...whatever all of you decide. American Cancer Society, BCO, Koman...whatever. They are also going to save whatever they can that may be used as embellishments.
Hugs all...

lol.. so when are you gonna get a real one...lol..
thats great about the thrift store.. I found a great bra, I forgot I had...lol.. can't wait...
the snow is melting and I now see how much work the yard needs... let's see pounding in 140 or so stakes around the tree tubes, raking, weeding soon, oh yeah anyone need gold fish... man did they grow...lol... new rabbit pens, ohhhhh a new wind chime.. and new picnic table.... ummm some were unsafe for dancing on...lol...
take care
Mb
-
MB...working on a real one...$$$$ LOL.
So are you telling me no table dancing
Its ok...I promise to behave.Tom is building me a goldfish pond as soon as the ground thaws (around August or so)...I can't wait. He also wants to turn the entire back yard into a pond...fine by me...less to mow!
I just painted on a couple of tattoo's...As soon as they darken I will post pics. Takes 24 to 48 hours to reach the full color and will last up to two weeks.
Can't wait to be there! Let me know if you need help beforehand.
-
Vickie, I LOVE the idea of temporary tattoos! I have been wanting to do that for a while!
So I am still confused on the embellished bra thing...are we supposed to do it before we get there and bring it with us, or is it something we are going to do that weekend?
*Hugs*
Kristin
-
Kristin, If you are good at hand sewing, doing it there could work. If you need a sewing machine, it wont work. I plan on doing at least one beforehand and bringing with me. You do NOT have to do one either - as far as I know, it is an "optional" activity.
Vickie, I am so very sensitive to any kind of soap, adhesive tape, etc. IF you can get the list of ingredients, I might like to try a temp tattoo.
-
Thanks MB for the dates. The only thing that will keep me from coming, is moving my daughter to Florida for college. Not sure of the date yet..she just said sometime at the end of July.
Lisa
-
Ok...tried the temporary tattoo using the Jagua "ink" and it washed right off
...going to see if I can find something that is safe to use...cheaper than teh Jagua "ink" (which is simply the juice from the fruit). I have always thought that henna was ok and all natural so I will do some more research. I am still working on an embellished bra to post a pic of and still collecting supplies.
Can't wait!!!
-
hey ladies... broke the ice off the pond.. spring is close...
MB
-
Woo Hoo, MB. There is an old American Indian saying, when the oak leaf is as big as a mouse's ear, it is time to plant the corn. OR Spring is on its way.
-
Awesome!! Can't wait to meet everyone!!! I'm halfway through as of tomorrow 3/25. Amazing!! We've all come so far since I joined!! Lets hear it for us ladies!!! WE ROCK!!!
-
