I shopped for mine in a 'larger ladie's' store even though I bought the smallest size. The clothes have a bit more fullness from the shoulder and drape over my chest nicer. You gotta try on a lot of ugly tops before you find the right fit. Then you'll know when you see it on the hangar.
-
Maybe I should just velcro some on, What do you think
-
Yeah..that would be perfect. I HATE the mastectomy bras. All I've worn since my surgery is the little cami's with the soft forms. I don't miss the bras at all!!! If you come up with an invention, let me know:)
-
What should I look for you guys. I really don't know. Tank tops are almost concave looking on me.
-
Well, Mom I usually wear a tank top, and then another thinner and lighter shirt over that. Kinda double layer so it doesn't look like you're flat.
-
Guess I'll have to go back and look some more.
-
Do you have a Cato's in your area?
-
Maybe you could wrap these "scarves" and put UNDER a blouse:

I do not mean to offend anyone, so I apologize, just in case.
Good news for Kak and for everyone else with good results and healing. I can't remember squat and again apologize in advance. I have managed to clutter up my desk and work table after it was all neat and tidy the other day. I think I need a secretary or personal assistant.
I may not live long enough to have enough toe nails to do a pedicure. The big toes are half gone and do not seem to be growing at all since chemo finished in October. Could it be the Herceptin? My yucky finger nails, half dead and brown, are all grown out to the tips, but very fragile at this point.
No cleaning for tonight and maybe none tomorrow either. Thursday is a lost day with onco visit and Herceptin. I usually do some retail therapy on the way home and get take out dinner. I deserve it and that is my story and I am sticking to it... HUGS, Nancy

Well Ladies, I made it thru it...and they did numb me for the wire localization...she did the lumpectomy, said she removed like a spot around the size of a quarter to a half dollar, but she did it under my breast and said I would only have a slight dent...(Course they said after Chemo when I got my catscan that I had a 100% response and there was no cancer showing) took my port out, and removed 5 nodes...one of them they froze and said it was clean, whatever freezing does...sent the others and the tissue from lumpectomy out to a lab, should know in 2-3 days. Breast doesn't hurt at all, underarm hurts a bit, but man where they took the port out is killing me...Vicodeine helps. And of course I have a drain, ugh! She tried to give me percocet, but they make me sick. SO GLAD THIS IS DONE...now to wait for radiation. Ya all behave, don't know how often I can get in here drugged like this! LOL
Kathy hope your procedure went great too!
Hugs and Prayers

Thanks for letting us know Deb and so glad its over for you. Watch those pain meds as they can cause some "plumbing" problems down the road.
Nancy I"ve never liked scarves but may have to change my thinking on them. My teen daughter wears them and they look great on her.
Coonie no Cato's here but we do have Kohl's, Macy's, Dillards, etc.
Arnie missing you. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers tonight.
-
welcome back deb....Didn't they even keep you overnight????
I also found that getting the port-a-cath out hurt more that my mastectomy.
As for the long nails all I can say is eeewwww!!!!
After they let me out of the hospital after my sergery I will put my gold nail on and take a pic to show.
Congrats on the negative mamo!!!!!!!!
The scarves are a hoot.....too funny.

Hey Mom I have the same issue W/Tank tops to espically on the left side (concave looking), in the bike picture (I do have the fakes in as I had been out) but tops like that you can put a cami or a tank under or a shirt as I had, that one there is a bit "cupped" I bought a couple new tops this weekend I'll try and get a picture and post it for you. The longet tops are the in thing right now - along with walking shorts.
I did not know I would match the truck, it is one from Ed's lot her brought home to bring the bike in, but pretty fun that my cloths, the bike and truck matched. I am sure summer shopping/dressing is much harder.
-
Nancy I just went to the "breast scarves" site. Too funny lol !!!!
Lori are you in the hospital now?
-
MaryRose- that sounds so...sweet. Not exactly a word I would use to describe myself!
Kathi- GREAT news on the mammo!! I have been praying for you all day.
Cathi- COOL bike! I love the little basket for Margo! That is so cute!
barbe- you were so right about the driving. I had no idea it would be so hard. The worst part for me is that it was my left side I had my mastectomy on. So, it was torture trying to get the door closed and worse than that was reaching back for the seatbelt and trying to get it hooked. Owie! Turning around to look behind me wasn't pleasant either.
My DH is feeling a lot better. He is going back to work tomorrow whether he is ready or not. Workaholic! I would be milking it for all it's worth! Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers.
Those finger nails are starting to freak me out!
I need to keep a note pad by the computer now. So much here to comment on, but I can't remember what it was!
Good night all!
-
Hi Friends, Coonie thanks for the lemonade, I really enjoyed it, Today was a run around day.
I have been weak and everyone tells me how tired I look. No housework today, Deb, I am glad
all went well for you. God bless all the wonderful Houseworkers, Take care, Debbie
-
Just popping back in to say Deb, I am glad you are home and doing well. Sorry about the drain. They suck. Get some rest! Lori, you too!
-
Glad to see you are home, Deb. Speedy healing for you and restful sleep.
-
Deb, now believe me, do NOT drive until you practice turning around inside the car. It's harder than you think. Glad you're home, with the port out at least you know that part's over!
Cathi, summer shopping won't be as hard if you don't have to match your surrounding cars and bikes. Did you ask Ed if he subconciously picked that colour of truck to bring the bike home in?
-
I am not in the hospital yet. I go in on Thursday maybe there for a few days depends on when I can break out.
I finished my painting just finished 2nd coat of paint in my bathroom, but I did break the sink(oops). So DH has to fix it tommorrow because it is 11:00 and there are no stores open to get the parts.
I also did some weeding today the temp was up to 23 here, a great day to spend outside. Well off to bed, talk to you all tommorrow.
Lori
-
Okay, how the heck can you 'break' a sink that is then fixable? I had visions of you standing on the countertop or on the edge of the sink to get a high part of the wall, maybe in the corner, or just above the mirror, and then CRACK! But how do you fix that!
-
Linda since youre a sports fan I thought I'd post a picture of the home UK's new coach (Calapari) just bought here in Lexington.
-
-
Is that how you swear in Kentucky? Very polite....
-
-
-
Very pretty! Y'all have e-lec-tri-city too!
-
You wouldn't believe the money they spend on sports here. Sometimes I just wonder what our hospitals would be like if all that money went into healthcare. Maybe the doctors should get a huge arena and sell tickets for people to come watch surgeries. Can you imagine the crowds, the excitement, the thrill of victory when the surgeon finishes. The crowds cheering as the patient wakes up and takes a bow.....
-
Actually, that's not a bad idea! You should run it by City Council, it just might fly!
-
To funny Barbe, Ed was actually looking for a seaf oam color he saw on the web - but they were sold out, the only other choice was pink, and he knew I would hate that, I mean I like pink, but after the past few years (and I do appreciate all the "pink gifts") I am over it.
So I think my 1 thing today will be................... I am not sure yet, gotta keep the nails in tact for a few days -LOL.
Great pictures mom.
Lori best wishes for your hospital stay. xoxoxoxooxo

As for the electricity, we only have that every other day barbe, the town horse gets the other days off.
