ok now to the rest of the chinese auction....
there are 3 categories and 1 grand prize. Grand prize usually is a trip to somewhere for 4 people!
The prizes are arranged on table with coffee cans next to each. As you pass by the prize if you like it u put a ticket in the can. They usually give people 2 hours to do that. Then they start calling the #'s from the coffee cans and that's how u win. I hope I explained it right. Over the years it has become big and now some schools and churches have it out in restaurants..charge from 30.oo - 40.00 andhave dinner included. You have these where you are?Perhaps they are called something else in your area. Many years agoa they were called Chinese Auctions but that became politically incorrect. Tricky Tray became the new name.
Hugs and prayers,
Candie

I cannot believe all the posts since I last was here!!! Candie, I didn't write all the names down but I DO remember you have wrist surgery today. I hope it goes as planned. And Kathi, good luck with those mammo results. Praying it's nothing. Isn't someone else having surgery today? Well anyway, special hugs and prayers to all in need. Ha, there are worse things than having to do housework eh?
-
Good morning everyone. It looks like some bills will be paid today and another load of laundry is in. They say more rain today, but 80 for the weekend. Time to shave my legs for those short pants. Dont work or worry too much today. HUGS, Nancy

XOXOXOXOXOXOXO
-
Good for you Cathi! You deserve it.
-
Deb and Candi- You are both in my prayers!
Kathi- You are too. Here's hoping and praying that it is nothing.
I'm getting my hair cut today for the last time before I start chemo.
Hugs to all!
-
KAK - just thinking of you and hoping you get good news today. It is today, isn't it? I know you're probably worried, but I'm praying everything is A-OK!!! Let us know when you hear something, ok?
Arnie - chemo today? Am I right, or am I confused? There's so much going on with all our sistahs here this week! I hope it goes well for you. Be good to yourself. Drink lots of water, and maybe eat some good fruit.
Deb and Candie - Still thinking of you too!! Hope everything goes as planned today. Praying recovery is quick!
Sharon and Julz - Thinking of ya'll too!! Let us know how your week turns out. Lots of prayers going up for ya'll.
Faithie - I think you're working too hard. Guess you're not cleaning your house, now are you? hehe
Cathi - I'm so jealous!!! I wish I could go get a manicure and pedicure. I LOVE doing that. It does make you feel special.
TexasRose - When do YOU start chemo? It's probably on here somewhere, but I've lost track, I think:) I swear, I need to get a calendar just for my sisters.
Makraz - Bless your heart!!! Rain---mud---boys---!!! You're gonna have a very busy week. I told you to come to my house. All's quiet here except for my two pups. Now, they will probably drive you up the wall!!
Barbe - So how does your incision look after the bandage is off? I pray that it's healing up ok. Since I saw your pics at your daughter's shower, I've been trying to go "flat" under my clothes. It really is more comfortable. I guess the more I do it, the more comfortable I will be.
Mom- What's going on today? Hope you're having a great day!
Nancy- Hey I think the only GOOD thing about chemo is NOT having to shave the legs. I didn't miss that at all. And now since my mastectomy, I don't have to shave my underarms. I know....way too much information, but does anybody else have that? It's kinda weird.
((((((((((((big hugs to everybody))))))))))
Hope you all have a great day! I'm off to run some errands, then I HAVE to get some things done in this house!! The weather is gorgeous. 80 degrees and sunny
-
Yes...coonie...1 p.m. est. Waiting for the dh to get home to take me...I am not allowed to drive right now because of some fainting spells...ugh. Always been so independant it's driving me crazy. See the onocologist tomorrow, hoping he ok's me to drive again.
HUGS for everyone!
-
Coonie, I still have to shave my pits.....waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Maybe you should edit the post to say my daughter's WEDDING shower, so no one thinks you saw pics of me in the bathroom!
Anyone heard from Kathy yet or is it still to early?
-
Meant to add congrats on going commando! It IS freeing, isn't it? If I'm boob free, I'm bra free.
-
Yeah Barbe......I'm free, I'm free, I'm free at last!!! hehe......I've always hated bras. Of course, I wouldn't have CHOSEN this option to be rid of them, but since I've had to, I've tried to make it a positive thing! My load has been lifted
OK.....Arnie....it's almost time.....I'm thinking of you and saying prayers that all will go fine and that you get permission to drive again:)
I haven't heard from Kathi either Barbe. Not sure what time she was to find out anything. I'm anxious to hear though.
OK.......I got my errands done, and now I'm fixing to SERIOUSLY get some things done in my house. I just gotta do it!!!
Oh.....yeah......I'm missing Shiny!!!
When are you coming back Shiny? I sure hope you didn't find a Walmart and MOVE IN......hehe
((((((((((((hugs everybody))))))))))
-
Hi Ladies,
It's still early (1:20) where we live. Hopefully Kathi got her results and is having lunch somewhere to celebrate. I know she will be in touch when she can. Right, Kathi??

I decided to STEP OUT OF THE BOX A BIT ................
-
WOW....... I LOVE your nails cathi. I am a nail fanatic. I don't do the makup thing but I love to do my own nails.
Lori
-
Wild!!
-
I am just teasing Lori, I am not that daring, I usually do pink and white on my fingers and a color on my toes (but I do get little diamonds around the toe cuticle). I love having my nails done , as it is open toe season 99% of the time down here anyway. Ed has called me "popsicle toes" ever sence I have known him, says I have pretty feet - he has a fetish for painted toes. I am not sure that any feet are pretty - but oh well. That is not a job I would not want for any amount of money. ICK!!!!!!!
-
hehe...you wild and crazy gal
-
Linda can you put these in a pair of boots to ride the bike?????
-
Whew! just have been reading trying to keep up and now almost before I can reach out to everyone I'm gonna have to go pick dd up from school. So thankful for you who make sure to track each of the ladies here so they know someone cares. This thread has become so much more than just about housekeeping, its about friendship. One hand reaching out to move ahead and one hand reaching back to bring someone along with us.
-
Cathi those toes are too gross! How can someone do that to themselves!!!!
-
I guess she can only wear open toed shoes. I wonder how often she rolls over in bed and scratches her SO???? ewwww
Cathi you should get that done to you nails it would look great. I bought little sticky gems and I put them on may nails. I even have a nail made out of gold that my grandparents gave me for grad(way back when). I don't wear it too often too scared to lose it.
Lori
-
Yipeee for me. I cleaned the bird cage. In fact you could say I cleaned their whole house.
-
waaahoooooo Sharon!! I bet the birds are sooo excited!! Are they expecting company or something? hehe
Hey Lori......I've seen gold teeth before, but never gold fingernails. You should post a pic
I agree with Mom. This thread is really addictive for me. I feel like I've added dozens of sisters to my family. I really worry about you all:)
-
Those toes are kinda creepy, wonder how one walks w/those. or maybe thats the point- don't have to sort of like binding feet?
Hope all are wll today. Prayers for quick surgeries and healing, good test results and enjoying kids, mud and puppies. No stress...
-
I agree, we need to get rid of those toes. Can you imagine actually doing that? GROSS!!
