Hi all...gentle hugs to all. hoping the germs and infections stay away and the healing to quick & uneventful. Did no housework this weekend- my brother was married on Friday, my sister stayed with me for the weekend. I am sooooo tired but there was no way I was sleeping thru a visit w/ my sister (brother's wedding was very small... bride, groom & the 2 moms), heading to bed but wanted to try & catch up a little.
sweet dreams to all

Glad to hear I'm not the only one on a cleaning frenzy before surgery. (Mine is Tuesday-Lumpectomy, node dissection and port removal)....for those of you having the oopherectomy <SP?> piece of cake for me....I had it done about 10 yrs ago...was about oh 41 or 42.....3 days after I came home from the hospital, I was up mopping the floor...Of course, doubt I could do that now! LOL
Hugs and Prayers going out to all who are having surgery this coming week!

Mom2two..Fireworks! Bet they were spectacular !
LMDuncan and Seltzer...Will be thinking about you on Thursday.. You gals have been busy!
Coonie...Thanks for the good wishes...I found this cute little coon and thought of you
-
Hugs, smilies, good wishes and prayers for everyone. I did not one speck of housework today - had lunch with my son and dil, watched tv, nuked some left overs for dinner and am stopping in to say Hello. I am sooooo glad to have my puter running again. Tomorrow I HAVE to have my eyes checked. Can no longer read the license plate of the car in front of me and I used to have excellent distance vision. Call it old age or not having my eyes checked in - ummmmm - 5 or 6 years...

Hey cleanies! Just as I was kinda-sorta figuring out who-is-who..... I'm about to depart on one of my whirlwinds-of-fun. Seven days. Seven zip codes. Three nights away from home.
I'll be sending cyber hugs & prayers to all those in need.
Keep each other good company.
Giggle often.
Sparkle and shine. Sparkle and shine. Sparkle and shine. Sparkle and shine.
-
Have fun Faith! Let us know how it goes! I will try and giggle often!
Did lot's of yard work today. Laundry too. Hung a new bird feeder and watched thebirds at sunset. Great day!
-
Lori-
Nice to have a surgery buddy. And thanks for all the comments making me feel normal for taking on these crazy projects with so little time to go.
It DOES remind me a lot of how I acted before my 3 babies were born. Feels exactly the same!
Just have to pace myself so the place isn't in extra chaos by 5AM Thursday morning....

Arnie just wanted you to know my heart went out to you about your sister passing, but I know what you mean about the peace that comes from knowing she was ready and knew where she was going. Guess we all wonder what would happen to our faith when something like cancer strikes, but when it happened to me I found that the truth of that faith was sound and was something solid I could hold onto even in the midst of cancer.
Deb and Ellen our thoughts and prayers are with you for this week as you go into your surgeries. Make sure you pop back in when you can to let us know how you are doing. Just know too that if we were neighbors I would so be baking you a bubbly hot casserole and yummy dessert for your welcome home!
-
Breakfast is on the table and ready for you friends!
-
Thanks for laying out the breakfast. It was delicious!
Hugs and prayers to all those going into & coming out of surgeries.
((((((((((((((((((((((Barbe)))))))))))))))))))))))))
Out the door I go...................

Happy day everyone. The weather has been so nice. And my house shows it. I invited friends for supper on the weekend so something will have to be done before then.
Hugs to all those in need. It sure seems to be a busy surgery week. I've got my annual mammo at the end of the week and I'm already having kittens.
Perhaps a little house work would take my mind off of it? Nah, I don't think I'll risk it.........I'd rather go for a walk.
After that lovely breakie above.........I'll need to do something.
-
Mom2two...Thank you so much for breakfast, as you can see I wasn't up to cooking it this a.m. Thank you for your kind thoughts. Yes, it's so true...He's faithful to get us through our fiery ordeals. If not for my faith I wouldn't be able to face these things.
LmDuncan & Seltzer I have you on my calendar for Thursday to pray for your surgeries.
Luv2Sing...
faithandfifty Have a blessed day at work, with that breakfast you just ate...should sustain you!
-
Faith, Just so you know I will clean my house extra good while you are gone, but it will probably be all messed up by the time you come back; sorry you will miss it!
Arnie, I consider myself lucky because I have faith, too. My poor sister doesn't, she thinks it all ends here!
You don't have a soul, you are a soul. You have a body.
Mom, I am having Rice Crispy squares for breakfast because I WANT TO! I'm a big girl now. They help me heal faster, anyways.
-
Good mornings to all!!! It looks like it's gonna be a BIG week for some of you. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you.
Arnie---chemo TOMORROW!! Hang in there. You can do it and just mark another one off the calendar. Get 'er done one at a time!!!
Deb and Seltzer--Be praying for your surgeries Thursday!! Get ready to be pampered. Like Mom said, if we all lived close by, we could at least cook you a meal or clean something for you:) Guess now all we can do is offer support and be sending up BIG PRAYERS on your behalf!!
((((((((((((Barbe)))))))))) How are you mending? I hope things are better today.
(((((((((((((((big hugs to everybody))))))) I've gotta work at my real job today, so will be missing in action all day long!!! Hope you all don't work too hard!
Sharon!!! You BETTER not CLEAN!!! hehe
-
WHILE YOU'RE CLEANING BARBE...I'LL BE DOING THIS! SEE BELOW...
hee.hee
Yep, we are fortunate
Barbe...
I can't imagine my life without being able to give these burdens away!
-
Laura (Estepp) had wise words for me the other night, 'Let God take the helm.' Kind of takes the pressure off! Especially for us control freaks......
-
Amen Barbe! All of these things take practise...giving things over...not worrying, etc.etc. I keep practising to give things over immediately, sure does make life a lot easier. We went through three hospices with loved ones last year...so I had a lot of time to ponder and re-think things. Stopped and smelled the roses I guess you would say...
-
Good theory Barb. I hope you are healing and feeling better.
Hugs to all that need them!
It's school vacation week so my house will be a disaster. I will clean but they will destroy immediately after I clean. I think that's why we send our kids to school so at least the house can be clean from 7-2. I hope you all have a great day!
-
Can you convince the kids that doing housework is fun? As in "come on kids, lets have some fun".
-
Sharon, those days are long gone. How many 14 year old boys do you know that enjoy housework? He enjoys creating housework with his brother and friends! Nice try, though!!
-
I am feeling better, haven't oozed much through the heavier dressing but I'm not going to look until Tuesday on my day off just incase I dislodge something! Good thing I didn't rake the lawn on Friday like I wanted to! I would have blamed that for the incision opening and never have forgiven myself! (or raked the lawn again!) Damn! I missed that window of opportunity....
-
Hey Barbe, I hope you are pleasantly surprised when you take the dressing off tomorrow.
Linda..........will they work for $$$$
-
Good morning everyone. Thursday looks like a very busy day. I have onco visit and tx (herceptin) so I will brave the traffic and parking, but at least the weather should be decent. It is pouring rain right now after a glorious weekend with sun and 70 degrees. Good thoughts and prayers for all.
Hugs, Nancy
-
Good luck today Nancy. You will need to rest when you get home. No cleaning.
Barb - glad you feeling better. You shouldn't even be working. I say bedrest for you with a butler!
Sharon, they would rather play than work for money. But, when I really need to get them to do something, that works!! How come no one offers me money to clean??
-
Hey Makraz...Can I take the butler?? I have no motivation whatsoever this a.m. Maybe because it's raining and gloomy.
WHOSE GOT THE SUNSHINE???
-
Arnie - Mom taught me well - we always share. Barbe, when your done with him, send him over to Arnie!
No sunshine here!
-
I got sunshine...on a cloudy day....sorry...slipped into a song there! But I do have sunshine!
Well said on the faith ladies. I couldn't get through a second of this without faith and giving it up to God. Well...MOST of the time.
Good thoughts and prayers for all of you going through surgery and chemo this week. I will be praying hard for you.
We were having a pretty nice weekend until my husband tried to take off half his thumb in a yard work accident. So, we spent all of yesterday afternoon and evening at the ER. Now we are both running on half empty and fighting for the couch! LOL He had three plastic surgeons in there putting it back together. They did an amazing job! But now he is in terrible pain. And I have become the caretaker of my caretaker! This should be interesting because he is a workaholic and already calling the office this morning to make sure everything is running smoothly without him. LOL
I may actually cook today.
-
Thanks Makraz! Sounds like you got a lot done in your yard this past week though.. I'm looking sooooooooo forward to doing that! Barbe...did you hear Makraz? I'm next! He's pretty cute too! TexasRose Oh my goodness...so sorry to hear about Dh's accident...Hope you both feel better as the day goes on...
Love that song! When it's cold outside...I've got the month of May...
