Mom, I seriously like the idea of a golden boob charm!!
I usually don't have my wits about me enough for a good comeback when someone behaves like that secretary did. But last November, shortly after I got back to work, one day everybody & her cousin kept asking me why I wasn't wearing pink that day. There was apparently some kind of bc awareness day going on in a town I don't even live in, at a grammar school where I don't even have grammar-school-aged kids, but, gee, I had breast cancer, so of course I'm supposed to participate in every BC event and wear pink all the time. It can get on my nerves when people do that to us. Can ya tell?? Anyway, when about the dozenth person asked me why I wasn't wearing pink today, I kinda snapped and said, "What do you mean? I wear pink every day," and whipped out my fleshy pink prosthesis from my bra. Believe me, that shut the person up.
Hugs to all.

So hard to keep up! We are a chatty bunch!
Candie- so sorry about your kitties. And yeah, no clue here either what a Tricky Tray is! You are going to have to explain that one.
I got my thank you notes done and one load of laundry, so I was a load of laundry short on my goal for the day. Oh well, it's in the dryer. Tomorrow I will fold it and put it away.
This is my first day since the surgery without any Vicodin, so I am enjoying a glass of wine before bed. Very nice.
Night all!
-
Kathi- that is hysterical!!
-
I thought that was great too, Kathi.
Mom, I think you could have said to the secretary--no, it's $36K to have the breast bronzed! And then you could whip out yours--the miniature model of a bronzed breast, that is.

Morning. Cleanies.
Today is WB (WonderBoy/grandson)'s 3rd birthday. Off to the zoo & all of the festivities.
I'm sure there's an exemption clause in the fine print regarding grandchildren & their birthday's right?
As long as I don't make a bigger mess, I figure it's a day to hold my own.
-
Lol..Kathi and Ina..
Candie: Details..what is a tricky tray? It's so tough losing our furry kids! We have quite the graveyard in back all with grave markers and I still miss every last one of them... So sorry to hear about your losses.
TexasRose: I'm gonna be doin' some wine drinkin' this weekend... My next AC is Tuesday and can't have anything for 72 hours afterward soooooo...
It's gonna be 70 degrees and sunny today! Whoo whooooooo! First 70 degree day we've had since last season. So looking forward to it!
Have a blessed day ladies!
-
Have fun today Faith!!
Good morning everyone else. Love the story Kathi - geesh!! What's wrong with people???
I have made a banana bread for my neighbor this morning - he had both hips replaced this past Tuesday. His wife will bring it to the hospital for me. It's going to be 70 today so I am getting my errands done early so I can enjoy the day. I may bring my laptop outside to say hello to you ladies!
-
I think I'll take all of you ladies with me if I have to go back to that buisness and let you have at her sense of humor
arnie I don't like wine or beer but I do use wine in my cooking or at least did till I keep reading how it can be associated with breast cancer. Now I don't even want to use it for cooking.
Have fun with the grandson faith, next time you have to take us with you.
-
dd#2 is having her friend sleep over tonight so will be trying to have everything tidied and ready for the fun.
We're suppose to get the 70 degree temp today too so may have to get out a bit myself.
Linda I think the birds are eating my blueberry blooms. They seem to be disappearing.
-
You can buy some netting to put over them. BUT, I did that one year for my strawberries and found birds dead in the netting. They got stuck and died. I was horrified so I don't like to use it.
-
Mom2two...TELL ME IT ISN'T SO!!
I'm in no way a lush...but do enjoy a glass of wine...
Markraz...70 degrees! Looking so forward to it! It's still only 39 degrees right now...but I'm with you, gonna get things done than enjoy!
-
Oh Man!!! SOOOO much to get caught up on. Don't you gals ever do any housework?
First off Julz, nice to see you join our group. I can't wait to hear back after you and Faith make contact!!
That secretary story is really irking me. I think I might have been forced to whip up my shirt and say, I hope she did (get a gold boob) because this is what you look like if you don't get anything done. (I'm a uniboober.) How unprofessional of her. And of course my responce is SO mature
.
Happy house cleaning everyone. I plan to get these wraps off my arm, shower and head outside. Hahaha, so much to do, so little time.
Gentle hugs all.

Ok you Early Bird Cleaners.....I'm up & at em. One load in washer & one in the Dryer! Waiting for the Pharmacy to open to pick up meds for me, dh, & son #3. I have 4 boys one is on his own married & blessed me with my first grandson/child...(my avitar). Then I have one in college, one 12 & the last is 10. Some days I find myself coming & going....not just sure who I want to say Hi to! LOL! So after a few things I need to do (finish the laundry I started, pick up the meds, & do some dishes). I need to go for a nap....as I work night shift (10pm to 6am) I had off the last 2 nights.
Sharon....I will remind her to bring that Camera of Hers....I'll bring mine just in case! We will record the Event!
!
Faith.....I'm counting down the days......19 to go & that lovely B & B!!!!
KAK & MOM......She did not come to work with her personal computer turned on...(BRAIN)....& needed a major update! What person in there right mind goes for that kind of surgery if they don't have the money for it.....ONLY THE ONE WHO WANTS TO LIVE!!!! Everyone & Situation is different. This secretary should get the "INSENSITIVE BOOB" of the year award. I hope she never has to walk in that woman's shoes! People just don't realize How Expensive Surgery can be.....absolutely astronomical! My DH just had his 5th back surgery at the staggering price of $90,000 + & that was just the last one. I am thankful we have medical insurance. Many don't & look how they get treated.....you just never know it could be the person living next to you....in a fancy neighborhood at that.
Sorry I got carried away.....
I'm running out of time I must get going so I can sleep soon!
Have a Wonderful Shiney Clean Morning.......Enjoy the Sunny Day Squeaky Cleaners!

I posted this on the surgery thread:
I was in the operating room on Tuesday for my incision revision (there was way too much breast tissue left on the cancer side) and lying on the table. I was talking to the team about how well I had handled the mastectomy and went around with a flat chest. I said I was happy to realize that at my age breasts just weren't as important. Well, at that moment the anaesthetists walked in to hear the tail end of my statement. Very loudly he stated "Breasts are ALWAYS important." There was dead silence and then they put me under. hehehehehehehe
I think he deserves an Insensitive Boob award too!
-
Oh Barbe...some men are just Boobs!! Breasts are only important if you're stranded on a deserted island with a newborn baby. Seriously.. that IS the only time they MIGHT come in handy.
-
One last Quicky Barb.......
If the Anaesthetist only realized that sometimes this is all it takes for US!!!!!!
! LOL!!!!
-
LOL Julz
-
Barbe can you imagine the conversation that followed after you were put under! I bet he felt awful, but shouldn't he have known better even if he had just walked in. I mean don't they read the charts and know what kind of operation they are doing BEFORE they walk in the operating room???????
Maybe they have operation surprise day. Each surgeon walks in and has to guess what body part they are operating on today. (Might explain having to have the "revision" ie "ya didn't get all the boob in the first place surgery"
)
-
kak, oh I love your story...glad u shut them up!
TexasRose, yes it is hard to keep up here isn't it lol...enjoy your wine!
Faith, Happy Birthday to wonder boy!
Arnie, 70 degrees here today too!! Yahoo!!!
Mak,banana bread sounds good..how nice of you
sharon, enjoy your day
Julz, your grandon is so adorable!!
barbe, what an insensitive jerk!!
Cali, I agree with you.
ok a tricky tray is same as Chinese Auction. Do u guys know what that is?
Well, I am at work...gotta go...just wanted to chek in cause the posts just fly here...love ya bunches!!
Hugs and prayers
-
oops, Hi Mom..see how fast it goes...lol
-
Candie! Now you're going to have to explain a Chinese Auction!
-
I bet the anaesthetist just saw "incision revision" as the surgery, and as it is a shorter surgery 30+ minutes, didn't realize why it was being done. I can imagine the comments....ehhehehehhee. Oh to be there...wait! I was! Yah have to wonder if your subconcious picks it all up somehow.
-
Hey I'm actually cleaning today instead of just talking about it! Got the bed changed and made, took out the recyling and the trash, did a couple of loads of laundry (that only after walking to the dryer, seeing the mound of clothes that needed folding and walking away at least 3x's before I was spurred on by those of you actually folding the dryer contents) Now I need to finish cleaning the carpet and its looking pretty shiny. Tomorrow is gonna be too gorgeous to sit at home so were gonna find someplace to take the kids to.
Julz hubby knows that scenario of cleaning as foreplay
When he gets extra helpful around the house I know what he has on his mind
(did I actually say that
).
-
What is a chinese auction. Is it like a Yankee Swap?
-
Now I want chinese for lunch!!

Hi ladies,
I have been out of commission for about 10 days due to an infection at my surgical site so have done nothing except try to mend.Don't have the energy to go back and try to read all the posts I've missed. Good grief you gals have been busy while I've been away.I'm tired just thinking about it.
My husband has been taking care of the girls and my son moved back in to help out for a while and drive me around since I can't drive. I hate that!!!! The not driving bit.
Anyway my husband told me this morning as he was leaving for work. "I sure hope you get well enough to take over some of this stuff soon cause I don't know how much longer I can handle all these things by myself!"
Poor Baby!!!! What would we do without them?
-
bkc - translation - Your husband misses you and appreciates all you do for him. I hope you are feeling better too.
-
bkc - It's also a back-handed compliment on how hard he realizes you work!
-
Bkc, sorry about the infection. I hope you are well on the mend. LOL @ dh's comment. Well, at least now he knows you do a lot of stuff.
-
Glad to see you back on bkc. I guess since we are such a new thread its hard to know who is actually missing from our little group, but in time I'm sure we will get to know each other better.
Hopefully we will have lots of fun here but also have each others backs when the times are rough.
Speaking of having each others backs, I went to Walmarts today (Coonie and Shiny would be so proud of me
) and I bought some jewelery tools to see if I could come up with a little something that would signify our group. I'll let you know if I hit any grand designs for us.
