Hi Ladies, I'm on break from cleaning the blindes, do you know just how many blinds go across a patio door? OMG I will never be done, and after that I am going to shampoo the carpet...in case you're wondering, I have surgery this coming Tuesday and I am petrified the MIL will come over! LOL......it's gotta be clean, course she has a housekeeper........
As for Dumplings, all I do is put a pan of water on, throw some chicken legs in it or whichever piece you prefer, throw some onion, salt and pepper and let the chicken cook till it's falling off the bones...........TAKE THE BONES OUT! After that I throw in a stick of butter, and I use 4 cans of Pillsbury biscuits.....I take them and pull them apart and tear them up into smaller rolls of doughl..let that cook for awhile and the flour from the biscuits thickens the water and VOILA dumplings!
Hugs
Deb

Hey Deb-from-Ohio... I just printed out your receipe and am gonna try it tomorrow...been struggling with ideas for dinners....soooooooooooo thanks! I was in Ohio this last weekend, visiting dh's sister from Chargrin Falls. Had a blast! (I'm from Michigan)
-
Cathi, I am such a tool and sorry I didn't mention your problem........gentle hugs to you.
-
It's strange that they talked bout Chicken and Dumplings, I laid out chicken to cook tonite, might as well make some dumplings...the hubby loves them.............
And i know how you feel, I'm like, Why don't they invent a new meat, I am so tired of all of it....I mean, how many different ways can you make hamburger, chicken, etc? LOL, and if I ask the hubby what he wants for dinner, it's "Whatever you feel like making hon"..........men!
Hugs
Deb <<<<<<<<<Back to work now, it's the carpets turn!
-

Boy, you don't get on the computer for a few hours and you are two or three pages behind!
For the record - I have never in my life eaten raw cookie dough. My Grandmother made the best ever chocolate chip cookies and I was always willing to wait.
At one point I had 10 cats and 2 dogs. All of my cats were acquired at different times but they were all similar in age. I knew the day would come when I would lose one after the other. I only have one now. The first cat I was ever owned by was Poundcake and she died at age 17 of cancer. The last one I lost was Mittens who was diagnosed at age 4 with severe hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and yet he lived to 19-1/2. I miss all of them. Each was special. If animals aren't in heaven, I'm not going.
Cathi - lots and lots of hugs.
-
Deb - you are entirely correct about the carpet. God forbid one of them coughs up a hairball on any surface easy to clean. We have a Spot-Bot on every floor!

Arnie, least your dog growls, try running the vacuum with a 150lb and 109lb german shepherd viciously biting at it..........they hate it!
kmccraw, When we bought this house 3.5 yrs ago I fell in love with it, I never thought I would hate having light light beige (almost off-white) carpeting in a couple of rooms...I swear these cats hold it in till they can get to one of those rooms!

Dogs have owners, cats have staff

I have missed a LOT by going to work....barking dogs, cats, cats, cats, watermelon, housework(yeah right!), chocolate bars the size of Barbe's ass(why'd he buy you the SMALL chocolate bar?? Next time tell him to get you the king size one!!), prayers, and dumplings.
I can give you my recipe for dumplings.. it's easy as ... pie. Boil your chicken and season it as you were making, um, chicken soup (salt n pepa, poultry seasoning), take out the chicken and cut it up(remove the bones if there are any), get the broth to a rolling boil, use 3 cans of refrigerated biscuit dough...just the plain old store brand ones that come in the skinny tube...you open the tubes and tear each biscuit into 3 pcs and drop into the boiling broth until all the dough is in the broth. Make sure you use a LARGE soup pot so it doesn't boil over!! It's ok to push the dough balls down into the broth as you go along so they don't all pile up on top of themselves. When they are all in, put the lid on, turn it down so it won't boil over, simmer 5 mins....then add about 1 cup of milk (don't measure, just pour some in.. like.. glug glug). put the lid on and continue simmering 10 or 15 mins. Add the chicken meat back and serve. YUMMY!!

Barbe - dogs drool, cats rule.
-
Stacy, you're killing me! That's dinner tomorrow night for sure! Why 3 packs of rolls? Does it really need that much? How long do I boil the chicken? Can I use skinless, boneless chicken breasts (I'm lazy)? Or do you need the fat flavour?
-
Deb - the changes my residences have gone through are incredible. For a while I had a bunny who chewed on every piece of wood in the house EXCEPT the kind I bought and put in his cage! All the baseboards and all the trim around the doors for as high up as he could reach. He had a particular liking for carpeting and when he got pissed - it was literal!
-
-
uh I use 4 cans of biscuits..but only cuz the hubby likes to reheat and reheat and reheat...and I've used breasts before, but found out the legs or some other fatty piece of meat flavors it better....if there are only two of you, I would use like 2 chicken legs and two cans of biscuits...Barbe, I boil the chicken till it's like falling off the bones....only way I know to tell you! LOL
kmccraw...ha! got you beat, after we moved in here, my dog who I had had for like 8 yrs passed away, so the other dog was just miserable, Yes I did it! Went and got another puppy...this dog has chewed carpet, we have formica windowsills, he actually chewed the one up in the living room window, he has a penchant for throw rugs, loves to chew on those (to this day!), he's chewed shoes, you name it..he's lucky I am a patient person! LOL
-
Km - Try the cookie dough raw!!
-
Raw cookie dough takes me back to childhood. Loved the dough......not so keen on the childhood
-
-
-
Yes, it's good for you!! You do need two spoons, one for taste testing and the other to actually make the cookies, that is if there's any dough left. Guess what I'll be makig tomorrow for my kids? Yeah, right, for the kids! Thank God I have them to use as an excuse!
Chocolate looks heavenly too! Mabe I should dip the cookie dough into the chocolate!
-
Ok I did the blinds, and shamppoed the carpet...now gottta clean up the mess from cleaning........how many do I get to bank on doing that?
OMG I think I found muscles in my back I forgot I had.........
-
STOP DEB! You are working way to hard!! You are all set for the rest of the month!!!
-
for a whole chicken i use 3 pks of rolls just cuz we like a LOT of dumplings.. hehe. If you use the boneless/skinless breasts.....it's just not as tasty..but it can be done with some creative seasoning. I'd suggest boiling onion, celery and carrots in that broth...and then skimming it out because you don't want the veggies in this soup. For a smaller soup pot..you can use fewer pks of rolls... since they're about 25 cents a pack i usually buy the 4 pack and use as many as i need, save the rest for breakfast on sunday....with SAUSAGE GRAVY!! THis is an easy recipe too.. if anyone wants it....just ask.
Stacy
PS.. I know this isn't an exercise thread....but.... I walked my dog for 30 minutes...while my mommy cleaned my house some MORE!! DAMN she's happy!!!
