Any one into LOST or FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS?!

I thought it really interesting that Richard made a specific point to tell Kate and Sawyer that "Ben would lose his innocence" if he healed him. Maybe Ben would not have killed all the Darma people if he hadn't. Wasn't the building where he was taken the Temple? Wasn't that where the smoke ripped that other guys arm off and remember when the French lady, I can't remember her name, told her boyfriend that he had changed, that he was'nt 'him' anymore. He had been at the temple too. I also don't understand about Jack's father being there. Is he REALLY there because it is 30 years earlier or is he there because Jack brought back his shoes? Questions, questions, questions.
Wednesday can't get here fast enough.

Time for all Lost addictees to get their TV and tivo timers set for Lost tonight. Ben's judgment maybe??!
-
LMBO @ 'it's not a train, John, it doesn't run on a schedule.' LOLOLOL

What a great episode! It answered alot of questions for me. Especially about Charles Widmore and Alex. Just when I think Ben is just evil incarnate, he shows he does have a heart by not killing Alex as a baby or Penelope when he sees she has a child. Such a paradox. One minute I can't stand the little creep, the next I'm saying what a great guy. Love John, so unflappable with that easy go lucky smile on his face all the time now. Such a gentle soul. No animosity for Ben over killing him. "All I was looking for was an apology.'
-
There is something very important about children here I think. Ben, (as evil as he seems), is hands off the small children as you pointed out (but apparently has no problem killing them once they are grown). But then wasn't something said last season that Ben must have done something to make the island not allow childbirth? Maybe I dreamed that one.

bumping to remind that its Lost tonight. Anyone got any preview info?
-
No Preview but here is a sample of the latest verbage from the latest deck party.
LOST. ToNiGht.
Some interesting theories.
*
"As we now amble through 1977 on the island with the Dharma initiative, we get a chance to fill in some blanks the show has alluded to and a chance to get back in touch with the characters. Lost has always done a good job with manipulating our feelings with the characters. Remember when we all loved Kate? She was the rogue anti-hero. Juliet was the exact opposite. Her introduction was clunky and her motives mysterious. Now she's a true adventurer and her motives...well they still might be mysterious to some degree but at least now we can get behind them a bit."
I still believe Juliet has wayward motives.
"The biggest character change we've witnessed however is of course Sawyer. Given a chance to "rebirth" his life, Sawyer has jumped right in. Nowhere has this been more obvious than the chat he had with Jack about their different styles.""The religious symbolism is all around in this show. One theory is that Jack was actually the Christ figure, with Locke being John the Baptist (JtB was thought to be the messiah at one point) and Ben taken on the Judas role."
"The Egyptian symbolism is almost as abundant as the Christian symbolism. Is the fact that when you "leave" the island by turning the wheel and wind up in Tunisia a clue that the foundation for ancient Egypt started on the island?" "Is there a reason why some people on the plane shifted back to 1977 and why some crashed in the present? Sun had Jin's ring, and Locke had a Shepherd's pair of shoes on. Is there significance to this?"
Answers tonight? Probably not.Around the BarbeQue

Ben stalked Danielle in order to kill her and is stopped at the moment of truth by the sight of Alex.
Ben stalked Penny in order to kill her and is stopped at the moment of truth by the sight of Charlie. On the boat when he pops his cute little head up.
Is the thought of a mother being taken away from a child the only way to stop Ben? Is it his Achilles heel?
The conversation between Miles and Hurley had to be the best LOST dialogue ever! The craziest part is that I think I actually understood it...
Hurley may have stumped Miles, but not me! I think that Ben did remember that it was Sayid that shot him when he was 12 years old. That's why he found him years later and brought him "back" to the island on Flight 815. Ben knew that with Sayid he had a ruthless killer at his disposal. After all, if Sayid could shoot an innocent child, he would certainly kill anyone that Ben wanted dead.
Richard said that Ben wouldn't remember anything, but Ben is Ben after all...
The MacCutcheon 60 scotch whiskey made another appearance; this time Sayid was drinking it! It was Widmore's bedside drink when Ben roused him last season. It is also the same scotch whiskey Widmore used to humiliate Desmond.
It's the same brand Locke's father drinks before he pushes him out of the window. And of course Desmond gets drunk off a bottle of MacCutcheon when Charlie gets him sauced to spill his guts.
MacCutcheon is also the name of a chess move, and there's that game imagery again.
Jump on board tonight and take a ride on the Magic Dharma Bus.
Fasten your seatbelts.

Show reminder bump! Tonight is Lost nite.
-
It's my day off. I'm loving it.
LOST last night was a total Bust. What a waste of celluloid or digital ions.
-
Yeah...total waste. Maybe next week....
-
I agree! Total waste of time for those of us keeping up with the show. It looks like they were trying to entice new viewers by catching them up with the current story.
-
Tomorrow show should be a good one as it is the 100th episode (I believe I have that right!)
-
Bumping for show reminder. Its Lost night.
-
100th show, wow!
I disagree, I think last weeks show was okay. I really enjoy watching the show, I however on occassion, have nodded off, so last weeks show filled in some blanks for me. It also ties things together that my brain did not wrap around or that Sahalie didn't fill us in on. Thanks Sahalie for a lot of your insite to the show.
Can't wait for tonight!
-
Does anyone wonder how the writers keep everything straight? It just amazes me. Matthew Fox was on one of the morning shows recently and said the last show of the season was a real cliff-hanger. I know that the last shows of the prior seasons have kept me wanting summer to hurry so the series would start again. It's hard to believe that the next one will be the last. The writers are going to have to do a whole bunch of explaining in order to make total sense of everything in the wrapping up.
I thought last weeks show was just a fill-in, trying to get everyone on the same page before the last couple of shows this season. It seemed like a lot of repeat of information but for someone who had missed some of the shows, it would have been a great refresher.
Sahalie, how do you know all this information? I love reading your posts because I always learn something. I have found that with this show, it is difficult to be doing something else because I really have to concentrate on what is going on. Thank goodness for re-runs!
Have a great evening everyone.
Blessings,
Wendy

I have either 4 pages of notes to catch up on, or can someone sum up the last 4 episodes in a neat little package for me? I am so freaking lost (no pun intended) that I am totally the Hurley (where he asked every single question about time travel). I just can't wrap my brain around it.
I am soooooo confused!!!!!
-
PS-missed last 4 episodes because of time in hospital/recovery.
-
8 more minutes!!!!!
-
Sunkistmi - I'm still absorbing last night's show....
Whoopsiedoo - wow, last 4 episodes? My brain is too small to help. There has to be a recap somewhere on the web. Have you tried abc's web site? If I have time later today I'll see if I can find anything for you.
-
Whoopsie-last week's show was basically a recap. You can watch it online http://abc.go.com/player/index?pn=index&showld=93372
If the link doesn't work, go to abc.com and look for the "full episodes" tab
-
The Eloise character gives me the creeps....I think mostly because she looks like my son's middle school guidance counselor's twin sister. LOL
-
Arrgggg! Just when I thought I was getting a handle on the show, last night's episode threw in some new questions. So Charles Widmore is Daniel's father? Wow! Eloise is a mean mom.
Sawyer is still HOT!!!! Hurley is still cute and squeezable. Jack is still a jerk.
-
Gotta update: we watched the missed 4 episodes, but my poor dh HATES when I constantly ask questions, and after watching all of those episodes, I was FULL of them. Of course, I can't remember a single one.
I just know I am baffled, and sooooooooo drawn to the confusion I want more and more and more...... -
Loving it! Sawyer. Loving him more.
So who else thinks Miles looks so much like John Gosslin with the eight kids?
Widmore. The father. Doesn't surprise me. But why * how * and when did he first go to the island.
Ann. You made me laugh with your post above about Eloise and the guidence counselor. Too funny.
Sawyer. Hubba : )
-
Did you miss where they showed that Charles Widmore is actually an 'other' from the island and got kicked off the island by Ben?
-
Jazz. I missed that and I don't know why as my eyes are glued to every moment of this show.
The plot is already so thick but now. Wow. Oh wait. Memory is coming back. I do remember a very young Charles Widmore. Maybe more will come back to me. This show has so much going on.
I loved the scene where Faraday goes to small child Charlotte who is eating a no no chocolate bar while on the swings. He warns her and she is only worried about her mom finding out she is eating chocolate before dinner. I loved that scene.
You know * I want to know who runs the sub? Where does it go to when leaving the island. New York * CA. * Where do they all live when home. Is it Los Angeles.
But the sub. Do they only bring people from CA? Or does it make stops elsewhere. I don't think anything has been said about the sub's destinations. Or has it?
-
Sahalie, one of the last few episodes showed a scene from the island's past where Ben was having Charles escorted in handcuffs to the sub. In that scene it was mentioned that Charles was being exiled from the island for having a child with a non-other while he was off the island. That would be Penny. With last night's episode showing that he also had a child with Eloise (Ellie), I'm sure Ellie had a hand in having him expelled as well.
-
I LOVE LOST! This season has more and more twists it makes you wonder who's behind the scenes thinking up all this stuff! Can't wait till next week! And now we find out that Charles W. is Daniel Farraday's father! What next!
-
Hi my560 : )
JAZZ. You are right on. Ellie reminds me of the "M" character in the Bond movies. (Judy Dench)
Charles got around. I wonder if there are "Others" A pun. LOL
I want to see inside the sub. Who are the sailors. How long does it take to get to the main land. Stuff like that.
Do you think Widmore's sole purpose to get back to the island is to have control of it and do away with Ben?
Ellie and Charles do make a good looking couple.
-
Whoa,
When did they say that Widmore is Daniel's father? I must have been dozing. I think Daniel's mother is really creepy. I seem to remember her playing a part on one of the ABC soaps. I know I have seen her name other places. I seem to remember Widmore on one of the first episodes of the season with a gun. Then there was the episode where Ben put him on the sub. The writers are going to do alot of 'fast writing' to make sense of things before the final episode of the season. I am so confused! Help!!!!!
