Ola' ladies, I hope everyone is having a great weekednd!
It has been pouring rain here in Georgia all weekend. Makes ones bones HURT but makes the "vegetation" look beautiful.
Good news is Olivia has had a great day!! She isn't eating any more, but she has played at a friends house and has a friend over here now. She has cleaned her room too.
When she was in the hospital, I agreed to give her a "room make over". Well, she has gotten a room make over alright.......she got a whole new room!!!!
It is actually a very funny story. We have a playroom and office that are over the downstairs den and garage. About 700sft between the two. She wanted me to paint her walls and I didnt want to because I love what I had done to her walls a few years ago, so we moved our office and my sewing into her room and she now has a "mini apartment"! The office is her closet (so not fair) and the playroom is her bedroom.....All because I liked the paint....LOL
But I am so happy for her. I got her new comforter and curtains today and they look soooooo cute.
Yes, she is spoiled. I know. But she doesnt act spoiled.......yet! LOL But I told her, if she ever does, I am moving her right back into her old room! LOL

Karen - It is nice to see some happiness in your post. Best wishes. I am praying for all of you. Take care. - Jean

Happy day.
Where ever, how ever we can make them happy -- may we do so.
Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice!

Olivia demonstrates for us all over again, the value of friendship. Her friends are holding her up.

What's next on the agenda? Forgive me, but I've lost track of just when the BIG appointment is scheduled. Please remind, when you have a chance -- and we'll be in specific prayer for an insightful consult.

Hello E1
She had a very good day Saturday. Had a very bad yesterday. You know how all that is, some days better than others.
Nothing new to report or post.
I got our room reserved today. I did it for 5 days having no idea how long we will be there. One day or 30. Who knows. Crazy thing is the hospital gave me names of 2 hotels they know has special rates for "hospital" stays. I called 3 hotels and the last one I called, did not have a special rate but with my AAA membership, they were way cheaper than the 2 "hospital" rates at the other two hotels. PLUS our room is a suite, we can have our two dogs, and they are a "resort/spa" !!!
I am going to get my hubby to find out if by chance our health insurance will reimburse for any of it but I doubt it. Never hurts to ask though.
Have a good one, love you all and pray for God's blessing on each of you!!!!

When is the appointment?

Continuing prayers and gentle hugs.

Olivia - great picture beautiful young lady!
Hugs.

Thanks for the reminder Karen, prayers will be very specific now.
I'm on the road again, so will send prayers from my heart -- not my laptop.

More prayers coming your way for a good fun safe journey and the knowledge of what is wrong and the dr's being able to fix it. gentle hugs to the whole family.

Nothing new to report. Still leaving Sunday. She has had a pretty good week. In fact, it is the best week she has had in 2 months! I can see relief inher eyes that we are headed to the new hospital. She hasn't even complained about having to have blood drawn!
I will be able to keep every updated because I will have wi-fi and my laptop with us.
Thanks for the love, prayers and most of all everyones continued devotion to come to this thread and offer encouragement, suggestions, and prayers. You women amaze me, even though I shouldn't be amazed. After all we are all SURVIVORS!
-
Karen - so glad that you'll be at the new hospital soon - praying that they will quickly figure out what is going on with Olivia and that it is easily treated ... Olivia is a strong little girl - and she shouldn't have to be going through this ... sending hugs and prayers.
Doreen

Karen - It all sounds like good news to me. Better week AND off to a new hospital! Hugs. - Jean
-
Praying for answers............I feel it's going to happen!
-
Olivia has had a much better week. I beleive this appointment at Wake Forrest has definately lifted her spirits. I equate it too "seeing the light at the end of the tunnel". We have such hope that we will come back with a successful treatment plan and that in itself has given her a new tool for coping better with feeling pukey all day long.
I got a call from Dr. Fortunato's nurse yesterday. She said they have Olivia scheduled for an EGG Monday morning at 9:00 and then see the doctor at 10:00. Wouldn't it be so great if he could give us some anwers that quick! I am keeping my fingers crossed.
We are staying at the "Sundance Spa and Resort" in Winston-Salem. Funny because this hotel didn't offer a special "hospital rate" but with my AAA, they were cheaper than the two hotels that did offer a "hospital" rate! And we have a suite and we will be able to take both dogs with us!
Right now the plan is to leave Sunday afternoon sometime after church. It is about a 4 - 5 hour drive, and I want to get there before dark. Mark is going too. The good thing is he already had the week off before all this, so at least he isnt missing more work.
I will post pdates about the trip, doctors, tests, and results here.
Thanks for reading, caring, loving and praying for Olivia and us!
-
Hugs and Prayers!!!! We will look forward to your updates as you can.
