Otter! Just brought a tear to my eye seeing the post about Tex. I stopped reading and PM'ed her.
I am crazy tired. For no good reason. It is "March Break" here and the store is uber dead. I am mentally so scrambled because having no money at the store brings everything to a halt and I spend the day explaining and juggling money and stock.
I am doing as much of nothing tomorrow as I can get away with.
Allergy season is killing me.
Kerry, I got the heads up about aussy juice tonight. I will fill u in on FB.

EyesOTex!!!! YAY!!!!
I haven't been around much because (I think I posted this) my best friend is adopting a baby boy and he was born last night!! Healthy, 8 lbs., 9 oz., 23 in. Very exciting and tiring, but I got to be the bearer of good news today at work and man, did we need some!
Will post more over the weekend...hugs to everyone

Randie, that is such good news!!! Here's to speechless doctors!
Linda
-
Yeah Randie,
That is super, wonderful , awesome , couldn't be better news.!!!!!!!!!I You are obviously doing something right, I'm glad your decision was validated !
Great way to take your first step into Spring
Have been feeling lazy and reminiscint and just been in kinda a funk. the last few days......maybe post holiday let down or just the weather . Gotta snap out of it ..got too much to do, this house is such a mess. Not dirty mess but cluttered with life mess. I think i will start small maybe a closet or something so as not to scare myself away to soon.
Gracie, wow those fish were monsters compared to what i see coming out of our lake. What do you feed your fish down there ? Way to go! Im not a big boat or fisher person which i know is a waste seeing as we live on the lake. When i was young i was in an aluminum boat with my dad and uncle and they shifted and then the boat went over on top of me. it wasn't that deep but i think that is why i don't like boating much. I don't mind a put put or give me a big cruise ship but that's it
Cris give my best to your friend what an exciting time for her...new babies give everyone so much hope and happiness..
For a post that was to be short i have rambled ...hope everyone has a wonderful first day of Spring ....may you see the flowers in bloom and hear the birds chirping !

Such a relief to know Tex is posting again!!!
RanD~ YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! I bet it is partly due to the purple juice. That's some of the best news I have heard all week girl!
Just passing thru right now. Not a whole lot to report. Herceptin was uneventful again (yay!). I think I have 7 more to go. I'll be glad to finally get to that point to say I'm done! New meds are making me wonky aftre the 2nd dose of the day. If it keeps happening they are gonna put me down to 2 a day instead. And Onc told me to add flax seed oil to my shitload of pills I take daily for the hotflashes. Something has to work.
Squishes and slobbers!
-
RanD - That is awesome new!!! I was reading on my blackberry and had to jump onto my brothers computer to give a big WHO HOOOOOOO back at ya!
I am out of town visiting my with my brother and his family, more later. Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend!!
Jean
-
RanD, I'm so glad you are feeling good and your counts are back up. (Maybe those two things are related, yes?)
Can't stay--just got home from a basketball game, and it's already bedtime. It was fun to do something we used to do regularly, "before cancer." (I meant going to the basketball game.)
Hugs to everybody....

Ok I forget who it is that is putting a group CD together. Also don't remember if this song was mentioned. I think this could be the perfect Group Song.
Bill Withers - Lean on Me
Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrowLean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean onPlease swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you don't let showLean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean onIf there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
I'll share your load
If you just call meSo just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'd understand
We all need somebody to lean onLean on me when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
Till I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean onLean on me...
Have a great weekend!
-
Holding up a glass of purple juice (mine is plain grape) toasting to ranD! Cheers to the great news, and may more great news follow!
-
Karin - I am putting the CD together and will add that song to it. I went on vacation to Colorado and 4 days later now visiting with my brother and family. It will be a next weekend project.
I am going out on a run with my sister-in-law, hopefully she will not dog my ass on the run.
Happy Saturday and hugs to all!

I know some are celebrating and others not. Today is my one year lumpa-outta-der-versary as Julie calls it. No let me change that to it is Julie's and my lumpa-outta-der-versary today. As for me I am celebrating. One year ago today was Good Friday. And yes it was a good Friday. I remember telling the nurse (after she mentioned something about Good Friday) as she wheeled me into the OR what better day to have surgery then on a Good Friday. A year has gone by and I'm still here.
Another thing I was reminded of today is a Bible quote I read last year on this day. I have a Verse-A-Day Encouraging Scriptures for Each Day of the Year. For March 21st it says:
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. John 15:1-2. That verse is what took the fear away as they rolled me into the OR.
-
Just a quick rant. Remember the days of no nose hairs? Well mine have come back with a vengeance. I now have to pluck a few that want to show themselves off.
-
Karin, stop putting that Nioxin in your nose!

-
Randie - Wooo fecking Hoooo!!!!!!! You've got this, girl!!
So glad to hear about basketball games, fishing and visiting with family. I got to see my friend's 2 day old baby boy - such a cutie and also a miracle because despite almost being aborted, swimming around in marijuana and alcohol and potential viruses from cats and other unspeakable events, he is here and he is healthy and beautiful!
March is starting to get better...
-
In response to Cristine's friend's baby swimming around in all that junk; and we thought we had a hard time swimming across the river. That little boy is already a survivor.
-
Otter - I stopped that awhile ago, OFLMAO. It must be the Biotin in my B-Complex.
-
My cancer detecting mammo was Jan. 28, Official diagnosis Feb. 14, Lump out of there but didn't get it all ectomy March 18. It wasn't until my mastectomy was decided that I revealed this problem to people beyond my inner circle. How wonderfully supportive many people were! In an old shoe box now named "Robin's Blessings Box" I have kept all the cards and notes and verses", none more special than another.
Happy Anniversary to Karin and Julie for what today means. Happy Life to all of us! Happy no chemo to Randie! Happy 8 hours sleep to Kerry!
And Happy whatever the heck you need it for to everyone!
I'm at work so I'd better get back to what I'm being paid for.

Krin - nose hairs and pesky little chin hairs. Need the big bad wolf to scare them away. The hair all over my body was coming in strong until Femara was added to my diet. For a while I used biotin and noticed an improvement, ran out and have been too lazy to walk down that isle at the store. This past week I noticed the hairs "down under" to be sparse and sgraggly so yesterday I gave them a trimmy trim trim. Wonder how Deva products help there?
Somebody tell me about the Group CD...
-
Hope you are all having a good weekend. Here's a weird one. My allergies are back and bad and I am cheering because last year, through all of those cancer diagnoses, mast, chemo, blah, blah, I never had allergies. My feeling is now that my body is trying to be normal again, the allergies feel comfortable coming back. I have just sneezed and I am no kidding, here, about six zillion times in a row (okay, at least 23 and still counting) and I am happy. How strange is that? Weigh in women. I am wondering if any of you experienced any of that. As far as nosehairs/chin hairs...just happy to have all hair including pubic and I do NOT have to tell you why I am happy to have THAT back. Ciao.
-
for some reason I ended up poking around Rocks.. laughter thread.. all the way to the beginning.
Almost wet myself.
It is not cancer related really.. but I found a classic post from Linda talking about a book that is worth reading... or not..:
I highly recommend the book, though I'll warn in advance that there's a point near the end when you will want to throw the book across the room and scream at the horrible unfairness of it all. Enough said. Even though it will make you laugh, it's not the best book to read if you're having a bad day or feeling fragile. But it's definitely worth reading.
Maybe this is not funny... at 1am it seemed to me to be...
I am off. not sure why I am up and on here.
Was blogging and popped over to check in...
Was very happy to read that tex was given an NED in Dec. Dana, how far from Austin r u?
Love to all

Robin - About the group CD. Jean came up with the idea. She posted this awhile back:
{What do you think about a May 08 - 1 year anniversary CD?? Maybe a song that made you happy, got you through chemo, etc. If you are up for it, simple send me your song and I will get working on it.}
-
Pubic hairs, wasn't going to go there but since it was mentioned I must comment. Before chemo it was kinky, wavy, and curly. You know typical pubic hair texture. Now it is almost straight, just growing in different directions. What's up with that? Anyone else not having it grow back the same?
-
Incase anyone else is wondering the name of the book ellenoir was talking about; I looked up Linda's old post and found it. "Cancer Made Me a Shallower Person." By Miriam Engelberg
-
Shallower????Could it be????lol
Sounds like a good read
Parents just left...very sad over here. They will spend the next week with my bro and then go home. Then this summer, they are sending 2 tickets for my 11 and 17 yo to go for a couple of months.
Anyway, glad eyes is ok....maybe she will post here soon......
Anyway, drinking my purple and LOVING it!
Going to curl up and spend today reading in my chair. Overcast and chance of snow later, so no need to go out, right?
Have a great Sunday, ran
-
"Overcast and chance of snow later, so no need to go out, right?"
SNOW??? Noooooo!!!! Oh, ranD...if it's snowing, you not only don't need to go out; you have every right to curl up in a comfy chair, all wrapped up in your favorite blankie. In front of a crackling fire, if that's possible. Oh, and clasping a steaming hot cup of cocoa in your hands. Watching your favorite non-BC-related movie (or listening to music). With someone else fixing all the meals. And having him come in to check on you and give you a hug, every once in awhile. And a kiss on the top of your (fuzzy?) head.
(Have I forgotten anything good?)
Hugs...

Snow? Geez louise . . . we had a few flurries here yesterday, and I thought THAT was bad; and I'm in Michigan, not allegedly sunny California. All that's blooming here are crocuses (the few the squirrels haven't eaten) and a few scilla.
Funny that Noelle should bring up the "Cancer Made Me a Shallower Person" book. I was just going through receipts for my taxes (DONE! toot for me!) and came across the record of my Amazon order. (I realize keeping the receipt makes me sound anal, but Michigan has a "use tax" on mail and internet purchases, and so I try to keep track of what I spend over the course of a year.) I stand by the recommendation.
Jean, you were asking about my half marathon . . . it's still two weeks away. I went for a 2-hour run this morning, my last-ditch, hope-against-hope training effort. I'm pooped but ambulatory, which is a good sign.
