Returning to Work

Hi--I'm wondering how the transition back to work is going for other folks?  I had a bi-lateral in November, no chemo, started Tamoxifen in December and went back to work in January.  I feel 10 steps behind everyone.  I work in an intense environment where nights and weekends are not "expected" but how much more than 8 hour days you devote is noticed.  I feel like I got through all of the initial physical stuff, I'm having my exchanged and hyster/ooph in May, but now I need time to think about this whole experience.  I've been going to support groups and it helps.  I just want to know if other people are struggling getting back up to speed at work, and any suggestions they have.  Since I didn't have chemo and I look pretty normal with my expanders, people expect me to be the same worker.  My priorities have changed, how I view my health has changed, I'm more laid back, but still productive--I like my job, I just don't want to be caught up in the daily frenzy--especially when other people cause it.  My boss has been great but did say he doesn't have 6-9 months for me to get it together and figure out all of the impacts cancer has had on my life.  Now I feel pressured to "perform" as though nothing has happened.  Some days I'm OK and other days I can hardly stay awake I'm so tired--I think that is my body adjusting to the Tamoxifen and all the other stuff catching up with me, otherwise, I feel good physically. Oh, I'm a single mom with no family, so I can't risk losing my job and health insurance. I'd love to hear your stories.
