Good products to dust with...hmmmmmmmmmm.....how about a maid?

I did put a couple of dishes in the dishwasher and then went shopping after a work conference call. They are laying off people and even though I am on 100% commission I have benefits! Yikes! I'm the last one into the department but I have about $10,000 is commission coming that I would lose if they let me go! Then I'd have to pay $500 for my meds every month which they cover now.....life is just too fun.

So I bought a purse and shoes. A girl has to do what a girl has to do.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAKRAZ!

Cathi, I saw the name Margo, but read it to mean you were showing someone called Margo the picture of your new furby. She is really sweet!

Just cleaned the microwave.  Love scraping the crude out of that.  Again, boys!!  I put a bowl of water in the microwave and let it boil.  The steam loosens everything up and you can just wipe it clean.  Just thought I'd share my cleaning tip incase anyone is adventureous!

Barbe - love the suggestion for dusting.  You crack me up!  Wishing you long time employment and shoes!

Mom2 - I like micro fiber cloths for everything,  I get a pack of 2-3 at the dollar store, great for catching dust, wiping counters, etc, etc.

The maid thing - hubby and I have actually been talking about that, I don't want one full time, would hate having someone "lerking" around, but he has suggested perhaps once a month to do the horrible stuff, the ceiling fans,  clean the frig a few other things.  I know one we could get for 4-5hrs once a month for $60, really mulling it over. I don't see it as a waste of money, it is helping someone else out as well with income, lets us both spend somemore time together now that he is working so much, just a thought.

I like the way you think Cathi. Can I use that logic?

Use it all you want Barbe,  and what the heck, I spent many years cleaning everything from top to bottom, cooking, laundry etc etc, as well all have and now I just can't do things like I used to, and unfortunately these things still need to be done, hubby does all he can to, but I don't like spending the little bit of time we do get to spend together worrying about getting the ceiling fans cleaned or the frig emptied out.  As we all know life can creep up on you and give you a big SLAP in the face sometimes.

My DH and I only get one day a week off together and we usually have to plan it around chores, too. Really sad, really.

Cathi I think that's a great idea. Sometimes its nice just to get a little boost now and then. I wish now I had insisted on getting a maid months ago.

Barbe I hope you aren't on the layoff list too. Its getting scary for alot of people. What happens to the women who get those layoffs before their treatments are done??????????

Cathi- about 1 1/2 yrs ago my dh convinced me to agree to house keeper 2x a month, just to get things like bathrooms, sweep, mop, vacum rooms, dust, kitchen. It has made a big difference, allows me time to do basic stuff, purging clutter (which makes the basic cleaning better) and not be exhausted.

I would reccommend if you can manage 1-2 x monthly.

EWB I am seriuosly considering it at least the one time a month, my hubby would do it yesturday he is just waiting for my "OK' he absolutely hates it when I say something like "I cleaned the ceiling fans today" something like that that he considers "to much" and I hate that the little bit of time he does get off, he rushes to get things like that done as well as keep up with yard, etc.

Time rushes by us to fast,  I'm Hiring that maid. Smile

about the maid thing.....if I could find the right person, I would hire one too. I had a lady for about 8 years, but she retired and is taking care of her elderly mother. It's just hard to trust just ANYBODY to come in to your house. It sure does take a load off if someone will come in and do the hard core cleaning.

Mom----hope you don't have to do too much for the appraiser:) Just hide the things that they'll be looking at........like termite damage, cracked slab, etc. (hehe..)Tongue out

I didn't get ONE SINGLE THING done today. DD came home from college......we went to Target, ate lunch, then came home......NOTHING accomplished.  Maybe tomorrow.......

Thankfully the house is only about 4 years old so that should all be good. Its just getting caught up on the inside from my surgical hiatus that I'm worried about. Where did all my energy go? Getting one house cleaned up and in order was like nothing a couple of years ago, now it seems like a huge thing. A huge thing that I have to have done by Monday now. Oh well going to have to stop gripping and get working.

Hey mom, don't sweat it too much. We got our house refinanced while I was retiling the bathroom floor with ceramics over vinyl! (A big no-no) I hadn't finished around the toilet and it looked pretty bad, but we passed. They learn to look beyond the superficial and just at market potential.

Hey Ebann! Welcome aboard. I'm so glad you posted. Was just peeking in before hubby and I start getting this house ready for Monday. I think my hormones must of had a surge yesterday, I'm feeling a bit more optimistic this morning. I'm telling ya if they could only bottle the things! Cute picture, maybe you should let me borrow those for todays Spring Cleaning!

Thanks for the reminder too Barbe that it doesn't have to be perfect. Guess this last year has shown us that banks aren't so perfect either. Wink

A tea party right about now sounds wonderful Ebann.

Hi everyone.  Today I am having lunch with my DS and DDIL.  If I hang my towel up real nice after a shower, does that count as my one thing?     Have a super duper day.   HUGS,  Nancy

I am about 24 hours behind but this is what I got done yesterday. Shopped for garden. Weeded the garlic and spinach. washed 2 loads. dried and folded.... cooked taco soup.

Now for today...tea and crumpets. Maybe I'll make some banana cake to bring to the tea party.

I'M HOME - I'M HOME with the baby.  Well have been for a bit, we left early this AM, it was quite a round trip drive.  She is so wonderful (napping right now) So no housework for me, well except for maybe wiping up a tinkle or two. So far none, of coarse the weather is absoulutely great we have been in the yard quite a bit.

She did throw up on me about 10 minutes from home - YUCKY!!!!! Thats right I did have to do a small load of laundry for that.

Hope everyone has a Groovy weekend.

    XOXOXOXOXOX

Coonie, I'd say you got a lot done. Spending time with dd, what could be more important than that? Dust and clutter aren't going anywhere, they'll be there tomorrow, but your dd?...thats another story.
