Any one into LOST or FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS?!

Ann- You're a riot! Welcome to the club,
Hello Sue - actually it comes on here on Wednesday nights. Are you seeing it 4 days after us or 2 days before us you think?
RocktoberMom - Definitely Daddy issues on the island....
Sahalie - I know what you mean about going with the flow. Some episodes I just accept but others I do need to delve into and try and figure out what the heck is going on. My brain hurts most of the time!
-
It's on tooooooooooooooooonight!
I wonder how they get back???? I guess Eloise will give them the new bearings to follow.
-
I wont get to see this one till Sunday night, so Im 4 nights behind you lucky things!!!!!!! I will log on and take a sneaky peek at your chat later!
-
Trying to get my mind around last nights show. They answer one thing but bring about a dozen more things to question in one episode. Love it! Spoiler Alert!!
So to ponder - who it the brilliant man who figured out the math at the Lamppost? Fariday?
Where is Aaron?? Did Kate leave him behind? How did Hurley get out of jail? Why is Sayid now a prisoner? Lapidus is flying the jet???? And wow - Jin in a dharma suit and driving a now pristine VW van...are they in the dharma era now?
-
I think the actor who plays Lapidus is so perfect for that part. He is a riot.
I want to know why since they all knew they were going back to the island didn't they gear up with hiking boots, chapstick (can't be without it) bug repellent ~ a zillion things to help. Camel backs for water. Ditto on the zillion things.
Who beat up Ben. What a loon he is. His look to John on the flight with his glasses on his nose was classic.
Also the "daddy" thing is intriguing. Who is Farraday's dad? Why is it the "Mom" who is running the show at the pendulum site? I love this show. So many questions and teasing thoughts.
The shoe thing. WTHeck. You know John will come back to life cuz "it's the island".
Did you catch how at first Hurley is yelling for help in the water. John nose dives in from the cliff to help him. Sees Kate on the rocks and goes straight to her and up stands Hurley. One minute yelling for help then boom he can stand all of a sudden. Hmmmm moment.
Is it just me or does Kate look a little different this episode?
Is Kate's mother still alive? Maybe Aaron is with her. Plus how could Sun leave her baby to go back to the island. I know her purpose but really. Who has her baby? Surely not her dad.
I'm totally confused * And loving it. Next Wednesday seems so far away.
-
Sahalie, actually, Jack dove in (that was actually Waimea Falls in Hawaii, it's a 40' drop) and went to Hurley first, told him he could stand then swam over to Kate. Aaron did not get on the plane so how is this going to figure? And Desmond didn't go either. Mrs. Eloise said that if all didn't go, the outcome would be unpredictable!!!
In trying best to recreate---- it is fitting that Sayid is accompanied by a federal agent, remember Kate was on the plane as a prisoner the first time 'round.
Sun's mom has the baby. I wonder if she is taking care of Aaron right now. Kate's mom was dying, so I doubt she'd leave Aaron with her mom.
Ben --- my guess is that he got into it with Widmore somehow.
Loved the explanation about Doubting Thomas -- how seeing is believing for some. Leaps of faith for others.
-
Where have I been? And I thought I was paying such close attention. This is what happens when the pups need out or the phone rings. I missed those details.
Thank you for the clarification. It helps * !
Also. The note John left Jack. He finally read it but then after the island wake up he is holding just a piece of it that says "I wish". What do you make of that. I know the note said "I wish you had believed" but I wonder why just that small piece was shown and then he tossed it.
This show is is like mental solitaire. I love it.
-
OMG OMG, that was sooooo good!!
Look at what I found online:
http://70.32.90.124/images/ajira_boardpass.jpg
You can increase the size of the picture so you can see the sides of it, it says Destiny Calls on the sides of the tickets. I can see a tiger on the front of the ticket and symbols in each corner but can't figure out what they mean. Anybody?
-
Oh did anyone wonder about the flight number?
Last time ... We had 324 passengers and told that 8 survived.
324 - 8 = 316.Makes sense to me ...... these guys are always about the "numbers" aren't they?
-
I love those youtube clips and other little tidbits of info. It totally helps me follow the most confusing and excellent show ever!
-
I finally got to watch the latest episode. We keep getting preempted with sports here so I have to wait till abc puts the show online to see it. I can't wait to see what happens next now that they have finally returned to the island. I laughed myself silly when Jack asked the woman if Ben was telling the truth and she looked at him and said 'probably not.' The look on Ben's face was a hoot. Looks like everyone has Ben's number. LOL
-
So, someone beat the puddin' out of Ben (what a surprise) the line of folks who want a piece of him is so long, I wouldn't even venture a guess as to who the lucky duck is. As far as that boarding pass Charis, The images are those posted on that wall thing that crushed down on John's legs when Ben was held captive by the survivors (before anyone knew who he was) The top right hand corner is an upside down Egyptian-like symbol of a bird, bottom right is wings, top left is I believe a swirl of wind and bottom left is a feather. Listen to how sure I sound! LOL, I'm probably way off. Where'd the pic of the boarding pass come from anyway?
-
Hi girls... I am a huge fan of this show but I am so Lost... for starters it amazes me how you girls remember everyone's names... me?!?! Just faces.... LOL... well may the names Sawyer and Jack... LOL
Loving every minute of this new season... that's all I can say.
-
ok, so I found this online ...
There are several parallels between the original passengers of Flight 815 and the partial Oceanic Six aboard Flight 316:
The body of John Locke is travelling the cargo hold, acting as a "proxy" for Christian Shephard aboard Flight 815. ("Pilot, Part 1")
Sayid is handcuffed, travelling in custody, just as Kate was transported by Edward Mars. ("Pilot, Part 2")
Hurley is carrying a guitar, just as Charlie brought his own guitar. ("Exodus, Part 2")
Sun is fingering Jin's wedding ring, just as Rose was holding onto Bernard's ring during Flight 815. ("Tabula Rasa")
Frank Lapidus, the pilot, was originally supposed to fly Oceanic Flight 815. ("Confirmed Dead")
Ben, despite being "sidetracked," makes the flight at the last possible minute, mirroring Hurley's mad rush to the airport in 2004. ("Exodus, Part 2")
Hurley has another Spanish-language comic book to keep him entertained. ("Exodus, Part 2")
Kate is breaking the agreement of her settlement, running from the law.
Jack and Kate slept together the night before the flight, shortly after a serious argument that would have cost them any future relationship in most situations, and the next morning, Kate acts cold toward Jack, mirroring the case of Shannon and Boone.
Jack awakens in the jungle and hears cries for help, leading him to run off to save the other people from the plane, just as he did when 815 crashed. He is wearing clothing similar to what he wore the day Flight 815 crashed on the Island, including a black tie with a white pattern. ("Pilot, Part 1")
Jack explains why Christian wears white tennis shoes in his apparitions. ("Pilot, Part 1") ("Walkabout") ("So It Begins")
Hurley and Kate land by the waterfall they previously visited. ("Whatever the Case May Be")
The coordinate finder in the Lamp Post resembles the countdown timer in the Swan. ("Live Together, Die Alone")
Ms. Hawking says, "That's why it's called a leap of faith, Jack." These are the same words Helen spoke to Locke outside his father's home, and Locke paraphrases to Jack when urging him to push the button on the Swan's computer for the first time. ("Orientation")
Jack has a drink in the bar at LAX, where his father met Ana Lucia three years prior. ("Two for the Road")
Ray is watching a magician do a trick with a white rabbit. ("Every Man for Himself") ("There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3")
Desmond references having previously met Ms. Hawking. ("Flashes Before Your Eyes")
Desmond defies Ms. Hawking's advice. ("Flashes Before Your Eyes")
When questioned about his relationship to Jeremy Bentham, Jack says that he is a friend. When he was at the funeral parlor, Jack said that he was neither friend nor family. ("Through the Looking Glass")
Locke's letter to Jack is a reference to their argument by the Orchid right before Jack flew to the freighter specifically and to their conflict of faith versus science in general. ("There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3")
Jack emerges from the water after arriving on the Island in the same way that Ana Lucia does in "The Other 48 Days" and Jack does in "There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3".
Desmond warns Jack not to trust what Ben and Ms. Hawking tell him to do, recalling Sayid's advice to Hurley. ("Because You Left")
The photograph of the Island is dated 23 September 1954, the same year that the United States military brought "Jughead" to the Island. It was also classified TOP SECRET and marked for limited distribution to "U.S. Army eyes only". ("Jughead")
September 23, 1954 is exactly fifty years prior to "Day 2" on the Island after the original crash of Flight 815.
Since the island seems to be somewhere mid-Pacific ocean where the international dateline is, consider September 23 plus or minus a day...
In regards to Christian's shoes, Kate asks Jack why he would "hold on to something that [made him] feel sad?" Kate held on to her toy airplane for years, even though it reminded her of Tom Brennan's death. ("Whatever the Case May Be")
Ms. Hawking refers to the Lamp Post and the Island as "unique pocket[s] of electromagnetic energy. That energy connects to similar pockets all over the world." Isaac of Uluru also refers to these pockets, citing Uluru as one, when Rose and Bernard went to see him. ("S.O.S.")
There is a Virgin Mary statue on Ms. Hawking's desk that was identical to those on the drug runner's plane. ("The 23rd Psalm") -
Thanks for the parallels Charis...like my brain didn't hurt before
-
Ditto to that one!
owwwww............
(although, I want to show dh this list, because even though I'm an idiot with this show, I was shouting out all the similarities I was seeing on the last episode, and dh kept saying, "no......"
-
Ok, I missed the Virgin Mary statue on her desk and I was looking for stuff like that!!
And I don't know anything about the 2nd one from the bottom of the list --- Isaac of Ulluru? When did Rose and Bernard go see him? And who is he?
But -- regarding special pockets of magnetism -- I wonder if the places in the desert are pockets of magnetism, was it Tunisia? You know where Ben ended up in his snow parka in the desert? Where they found the polar bear in the desert?
-
Oh my word I had forgotten most of that stuff, charis. It's a lot to take in.
My husband heard on a podcast that since Jack and Kate slept together, there's a possibility of her being pregnant, so there would be a pregnant woman on the plane like Claire was.
How many more seasons are there?
Michele
-
Oh, that's a good one Michelle!!
------
So, regarding Widmore -- remember he was on the Island back in time, in his Army outfit. I wonder if he was part of the Army and then stayed? But his army outfit did NOT have his correct name on his badge, so I am guessing it was left behind by an Army soldier.
But, Widmore encounters the Losties and so that's why way in the future he is way interested in finding the plane and in all the passengers!!! Makes sense as to why he was tracking people.
-
No, that show had the psychic guy saying that he had just walked over the graves of 4 soldiers that had been killed by the 'others.' The others were wearing the uniforms of the dead soldiers to trick the survivors.
-
WOW you are right about the dead soldiers graves and the name on the uniform not being Widmore's. So he IS an "other"??
-
You can watch episodes on www.abc.com if you want to refresh. It gets very confusing and so much happens in each show that it is easy to miss just even the smallest thing that turns into a big thing 3 episodes later.
-
- A "Rick Lapidus" is credited in the Exposé script. The name "Lapidus" was appreciated by Lost writer Edward Kitsis, who inserted the name onto the Exposé script and later insisted the character of the chopper pilot be given the name.
- A physician named Lapidus developed a technique for treating a condition of the big toe (bunions) caused by excessive bone growth.
- Lapis is a Latin word for stone, and "Lapidus" is sometimes used in the names of rocks, like "Lapidus Granite".
- Laputa is a fictional flying island from the book Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift, that can be maneuvered by its inhabitants in any direction using magnetic levitation.
------------
Ok, so his name has to do with something with stone, and a big toe ... I'm thinking 4 toed statue tie in with this character.
-
More on Frank Lapidus:
- Why was he replaced by Seth Norris as the pilot of Oceanic 815?
- Why was he specifically recruited by Abaddon?
- Why did he memorize Flight 815's 324-passenger manifest?
- Did he survive the crash of Flight 316?
- Why didn't Frank attempt to turn Flight 316 around upon realizing it would never make it to Guam?
-
Hey, I have a question. I was up late last night, and had a re-run of Lost on. It was when Ben was pretending to be Henry Gale, and Sayid dug up the grave of the real Henry Gale.
Did they find anything else or say anything else about him ever again? -
So far no new info about Henry Gale.
The only thing was on a podcast. They were talking about how they believe the Island "moves" ...
like the island is not "attached" to the earth but more fixed ... so when it moves in time, it's like someone lifts it up, the earth moves in time, the island is placed back down --- so when it is placed back straight down, it may be (due to earth rotation) closer to Africa or closer Australia, where ever...it's always on the same latitude but different meridian .... so that would explain how the Nigerian plane ended up on the island or the Black Rock Ship --- maybe with the ship, the island appeared it was right where the ship was!! Not the ship crashing into it but instead the island appeared under it!
So -- the podcast can't be right in that it lifts "up" but it must be sucked down, cuz remember the rings it left when it disappeared .. that would be sucked down, right?
Anyway, so the mention of Henry Gale was that here was a man parachuting and all of a sudden here was an island!
-
It's on tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BURNING TIME TRAVEL QUESTION NUMBER 1: How come the castaways got to keep the outrigger when they did the time warp shuffle? Shouldn't that have been left behind in the previous time zone?
Answer: The question was actually asked and answered two episodes ago in ''The Lie.'' If you recall, Juliet theorized that time travelers get to keep the stuff they're holding or sitting in when they jump. (Also see: the compass that Time Indeterminate Richard Alpert gave John Locke to give to his 1954 self.) In other words: How about we just roll with this?
BURNING TIME TRAVEL QUESTION NUMBER 2: It appears that only the castaways are traveling through time. Which means that the Island isn't traveling through time. Maybe. But we saw the Island disappear in the season finale. So...uh...huh?
Answer: I know this issue baffles many of you. Let's make an appointment to discuss all things time travel in next week's Doc Jensen column, posting Wednesday morning.
-
Did you catch the words ''Rainier-Canton'' on the side of Ben's van? That's an anagram for ''reincarnation.'' Does that bode well for John Locke's dead body?
(from ew.com)
-
Wow, you're like a super detective! I never noticed alot of this and certainly not what was written on the van.
