Madison - Can't wait to see it!
Hollyann - Thanks for becoming a member of the border patrol! I really appreciate your help with this awesome project.
Jackie - So sweet of you!
On Wednesday - I am going to my elderly friend's house and she and I are going to makes squares! She is really looking forward to the company and I am looking forward to spending time with her.
Hugs back!
-
Have fun. I think that is so special. You will make her feel so important. Enjoy.
Hugs, Jackie

Jackie, do you want to check the labels on the yarn you received? You said "wool" -- which will shrink if it goes through a hot water wash. Acrylic yarn shouldn't shrink.
If you ended up with wool, there are some other projects I can hook you up with that prefer woolen items.
-
Madison, great news on 35 yrs. My mom and dad will celebrate their 52 anniversary this May. When mom was going through her treatment, we celebrated their 45th at the local AA baseball game.

Hi. This is Lady Pee and I just received my afghan today. I was absolutely taken back. I have only been to the recurrence board as I was recently dxed with mets. I cannot tell you how surprised and touched I was by all of you ladies involved in the community afghan. I am typing this as I sit in my bed all comfy under my wonderful afghan. There are just no words of thanks that are sufficient so all I can say is Thank You.
-
Hi Lady Pee! So glad you got an afghan...I'm sure it looks lovely on you! Enjoy...we warm...be well.
-
Hi Lady Pee..... so glad your box of hugs arrived. Anytime you need extra hugs, we will all be there with you.
Laura.... got your box. Thanks bunches!
Hugs
-
Hi Liz
I mailed my box yesterday. Had scads of snow today so I'm hoping it left Lincoln already!
Amy
-
Pee, I am so happy to see that the afghan arrived at your home. It is indeed filled with hugs.
As Liz has stated, we will all be with you.
-
Hi Pee,
I'm glad you got the afghan. I hope you enjoy it.

I have another box, who needs them?... bordered... also if you need them bordered send them on, even the post office lady was wondering why I don't get boxes all the time anymore...lol I live in a really small town....
hugs to you all...MB the nut in the hill
-
I have some too... mine are unbordered... let us know who needs some! Thanks.
-
Liz and I are meeting this week and will be able to compare square needs.
You are all fantastic -
I will be able to mail some by Friday. Please let me know also who to send them too.
Laura, how was your crocheting session with your elderly friend? Did you get a lot done? Please let me know.
Have a great day, ladies.
hugs, Jackie

Madison/Liz - If this helps... I have 16 made... I can split them up or send all to one...
Jackie - Unfortunately...we had to postpone it... she was getting ready to leave for a cruise, and because she hasn't traveled in 45 years, she was all freaked out. So instead... I helped her pack... she had no idea what to bring. lol She was all freaked out about traveling post 9?11 - with all the flight restrictions. She was a nervous wreck. So... as soon as she gets back, we will get together and while we crochet, she can tell me all about her trip.
Have a great day...back!

Hi girls.... I finally finished an afghan. It will be headed to a new home tomorrow. Madison & I will see each other tomorrow and then we'll let you know who needs what. Amy... I got your box today. Gorgeous! Thank you.
MB.... I'll call you this week.
Thanks to everyone's hard work. I love this project! Also, if you have any names, please let us know.
-
Wow...Liz - it's a beauty... can't wait to find out who it went to.
I have to say... it must be really tough positioning all the squares. I would think so... it's almost like a gigantic puzzle. Do you sit on the floor and rearrange them a gazillion times? lol I would most likely obsess over that. They always look so color "balanced"... thanks for being part of the border patrol!
-
Wow - beautiful! So wonderful to be a part of this group hug! I will have another box ready soon - maybe 20-30 squares? I'll keep on myself to get those ends woven in and not build up a pile waiting to be done.....LOL!!
Amy
-
the afghan is BEAUTIFUL! i have a box ready to go (unbordered). i am honored to be a part of this project, and you "border patrol" girls are amazing. thanks for taking on such a daunting task of putting the afghan together.
you girls are the best!

The afghan is beautiful!!! I absolutely love the square with the pink ribbon. I wish I could be that creative but so far can only do basic knitting. I will be sending out a few squares soon. Who should I send them to?
-
Hi everyone,
MB needs boxes so the post office lady won't worry! LOL So, go ahead and send a few boxes to her and then she'll send them to us. If you need her address, just send her or I a PM.
Thank you everyone for the wonderful compliments. I love this project. Laura, it does take me awhile to decide the way the squares are going to be placed. I move them all around several times. LOL
I'm off to start on another.
Hugs
Liz

Liz, it is a beauty and another wonderful hug being sent to a sister in need. I enjoyed our visit and loved meeting everyone. I miss you already...
Laura, I'm laughing as I read your post because it does take time to decide on the layout of the squares.
I should start on another afghan when I return home this weekend (I have a few more squares to border.)
Hugs, Madison
-
Hi Ladies,
Liz....love the afghan. It's so pretty.
MB....a box of 20 heading your way. I don't want the post office in your neck of the woods to get bored!!!!
Have a great weekend everyone.
Hugs, Jackie
-
Wow - Jackie... you have been a busy girl!
MB - Dropped a box o' squares off at the post office this morning... addressed to you! I sent it priority, but please let me know when you receive it. Thanks.
Sweet dreams, girls... I'm pooped - emotionally - just got back from a Memorial Service for my friend who died in her sleep (47 yrs old) while on vacation in Naples, FL with her dh - Kurt - who is also a dear friend of mine (Kurt was dx'd w/cancer the same month as me! Unfortunately, he got mets last May...it's not looking good). The service was beautiful... but so sad... my eyes are quite swollen right now... will retreat to my couch and crochet - until I fall asleep. Sorry... don't mean to ramble... I'm just so exhausted.
-
Oh Laura, so sorry about your friends. How sad that she died so suddenly. He must be devastated. Amazing how life can take on such twist and turns and we really don't know what will happen next. Sometimes the unexpected can really sucker punch us. Take care. (((Hugs)))
MB - I'll send you my squares. Please let me know if they are OK. Since these are my first one's, I'm feeling a little insecure about them. Also, they are not bordered so I hope that's OK.
-
Laura, I am also sorry about your friends. This is so sad. I do know what you mean by a service being both beautiful and sad. My office manager's mother's funeral (pancreatic cancer) was 2 weeks ago. It was a celebration of her life and bidding farewell at the same time.
Odalys, I'm sure your squares are going to be great.
My DD in OK has mono. She had 2 negative mono tests prior to the third (this one sent to a lab) testing positive. We were relieved it was just mono because she took her blood slides from her GP and looked at them herself, with another doctor at her work, and there were some cells that looked like a rare form of leukiema.
I flew into OK last Saturday. She is feeling much better. I am waiting for her to return from taking care of an emergency at the hospital so she can drive me to the airport. I should land in NO about 9 tonight.
I will start on a new afghan tomorrow.
Hugs, Madison

hi purple !!!
glad P.O. lady is happy again ... i'll look and see what i've got done up but have been bad (or good depending on your point of view) and been doing tons of walking - 20K yesterday but most days around 10-14K ... my bff retired and we've been ranging far and wide and michael's knee is getting healed from the surgery so he is good for 5-6K too !
-
Hi Ladies,
Laura...so sorry to hear about your friends. That is heartbreaking. Life surely is full of surprises.
Odalys, I was nervous the first time I sent mine but they were okay.
MB, looks like the PO lady will be busy for a while.
Janet, welcome. Once you start it feels so good you can't stop making squares!!!!
Madison, have a safe trip.
Hugs to all, Jackie
