This post will self destruct in 10 seconds.......

    Shokk...

Thank you for energizing the conversation on this thread...You have found a delightful (can a man say delightful and still be a man) of using satire to shine the light on the stereotypical liberal dumba## logic.  Not all dems are dumba##es but the caricature that you have created is brilliant, simply brilliant.

    Daisy

You just pulled up and dusted off my tallest soap box.  The pure politicization of the census.

The cause of so many problems in our lives has come from the misuse of census.  It has been used by political parties in control to gerrymander and salamander congressional districts to insure the power in charge rewrites the playing field.  In the 70's the census was used to create super districts.  This ensured minorities of electing a representative in Congress.  The backlash of this was by carving out a salamander shaped district that takes bits an pieces of cities, towns and even neighborhoods to get an 85% or larger minority district, created an environment where the most radical candidate that ran on a platform of fear, hate and victimization of a people would be elected.  No longer did candidates have to campaign in a diverse district and run for the overall good, they had to become extreme zealots of only one stereotype.

By moving the Dept of Census under the control of Emmanuel,  Obama has cut all power out of his token republican Commerce Secretary designate.  A small state with 8 congressional districts will now have say 2 districts that are almost 100% white republicans, the other six will take all the dems out of those districts and divided to give the other six a 51% and larger dem constituent.  So even though the Repubs will have 2 safe districts, they will lose 6 districts to dems.  This is scary. Ther will not be a chance to ever get rid of a dem controlled Congress or state houses.

Also, federal tax dollars and school monies are delegated along many guidelines drawn by the census.  All of us need to be afraid of this process being put in the hands of Chicago thugs.

About the President's aging in office, this time it will be us aging and not him.

Don't worry about the census, it's in the bailout bill, $1 billion.  So they're saving money by putting it under the roof of the White House with all those redactions that will have to be made.  This is how democrats are made, and some might think they were born that way.

IBC, you are spot on! This is exactly what happened in Illinois and turned the state from red to blue. Illinois supported Reagan and had a series of republican govenors that were a balance to the Chicago machine. Illinois has 106 counties, 102 of which went for Bush. Yet the state is now written off as a democratic state because the Chicago machine now has control of the electoralate. Emmanuael of course knows how they did it in Illinois so he is just ensuring that the same thing will happen in DC. This is why I have been so afraid of this mob going to DC. I can only hope that there will be enough moderates who see it coming or we are headed for a one party system and the Chicago way will soon be the new American way. Socialism here we come.

This could be why Pelosi and Reid put as much pork in this spending bill as possible, even though the majority of people are against it. They figure it does not matter what people think, they will soon have the ability to control the votes. They will silence the voices against them by censoring talk radio, gerimander the districts to insure their votes, and keep the masses happy with their freebies. Sadly, this will cause the whole economy to collapse. Why would people work harder if they are just taxed more? The dems want everyone reliant on the governement. This jobs bill is only creating gov. jobs. Now I am all for education, but they are creating teaching jobs, when that is one profession not hurt by this recession. They should be pouring money into housing because the main job loss has been in constrution which has a trickle down effect to every aspect of the economy. I am so sick of these idiots already. It has been a tough 2 weeks. How are going to get through the next 4 years?

I think all we have left is prayer.

Socialism is only good till the last rich person runs out of money.  If the grand scheme of things is to have a one party Nation by opening our borders and the like, and we have all these grand giveaway programs to entice them over to the leftist view, then who eventually will pay for them?

Then one day, a republican regains access to the white house and she calmly announces to everyone:  GET A JOB!  The government dole offices are closed...Donald Trump, Steve Jobs, Gates, have all left the country.  GO TO WORK!

Oh happy day!!!!!  Another criminal arrested ..  Obamao is full of criminals in his corner!! We couldn't make this stuff up!!

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The artist who created the iconic pop-art portrait which became the unofficial logo for Barack Obama's insurgent White House bid, has been arrested in Boston for defacing property with graffiti, US media reported.

Artist Shepard Fairey was arrested in Boston late Friday on warrants for defacing property with graffiti, the Boston Herald and other media outlets reported.

He is the creator of a popular red, white and blue poster, emblazoned with the legend "hope" "progress" or "change," showing the then-presidential candidate gazing off into the distance.

Fairey, 38, was taken into custody on his way to Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art where he was being honored with a solo exhibition of his work, called "Supply and Demand."

The street artist and political activist first became well known for his "Obey Giant" campaign of stickers, stencils, and posters of the early 1990s.

The Herald reported that two warrants were issued for Fairey last month after police said he tagged property in two locations with graffiti.

He is to be arraigned Monday on the misdemeanor charges, authorities told the newspaper.

Fairey's arresting image of Obama has been sold on hundreds of thousands of stickers and posters, and now hangs in Washington at the National Portrait Gallery.

The artist is also embroiled in a copyright dispute with The Associated Press over his use without credit or remuneration of the photo upon which the now-famous graphic-design image of Obama was based.

Well nice to see you back!!

    -------

This just ticks me off ..... John McCain's comment here:

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., a vocal critic of the stimulus bill, complained that Republicans won't be involved in the final negotiations. "That's the way the Bush administration, when we Republicans were in charge - that's the way we did business," he said. "But I thought we were going to have change."

Well, it seems to me that he should not be complaining about that!  The Reps should no more freeze out the Dems!  I mean, 1/2 the country is Dem and the other 1/2 is Rep ..  it doesn't mean you CRAM crap down the other's throat.  It just means a backlash will happen when it's their turn. No wonder these dems are pulling this crap with their "we won" attitude.

They really need to overhaul our whole system where they do have bi-partisanship in the most crucial legislations. A two party system works but not CONTROL.

McCain's point is, in a round about sort of way is, this is the democrats bill from start to finish.  They won so they get to spend, spend, spend and also take the hit if it fails dismally.

Soon we'll be hearing they need money, and the dems get to up our taxes to pay for it.  I wonder if that protectionism amendment passed?  That should cap it off.  And if they really want to turn off the lights for small businesses, they should start talking about wage increases.  Then Hoover can walk this earth again.

Jader if you are reading this thread as well it is wealth that creates new jobs............when the gov't creates jobs it's just like the gov't printing money.......it makes the dollar go down in value......when the gov't makes jobs that only makes our economy go down in value............wealthy people are the ones that create jobs..........not poor people........that is what Michael Steele is talking about........there has to be profit for service........profit for product............people need to provide a service and/or product and make a profit........if they don't they will cut jobs until there is profit.............that is what is happening now.........why in the world would you say have a restaurant where you are owner and you are not clearing any money after paying all the account payable's.......paying for food, help, rent.......there is nothing left for you as owner.......how can you stay in business?.........as far as I can tell people start businesses to make money.........not to break even or lose money.......then whats the point?.....

Ya gotta love this one----It never ends!

    From sayanythingblog:

Uh Oh: Rahm Emanuel Took Five Years Of Free Lodging Without Reportign It On His Taxes
By Rob on February 8, 2009 at 03:24 pm

And five years of free lodging adds up to a lot of income that Rahm apparently didn’t report or pay taxes on.

The White House chief of staff [Rahm Emanuel] said this week that he did not pay rent during the five years he bunked at the Capitol Hill home of Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn). But that raises questions whether Emanuel reported the rent-free lodging to Congress, since DeLauro is married to pollster Stan Greenberg. And will either of the parties report what could be “imputed income” to the IRS? Reps for Emanuel and DeLauro argue that House Ethics rules allow “hospitality between colleagues.”

According to Mark Hemingway at The Corner:

Both Rahm Emanuel and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (which Emanuel was formely the chairman of) are listed as clients on the website of Stan Greenberg’s polling company.

This makes six Obama cabinet appointments with ethical problems.  Five of them having to do with taxes.

Richardson.  Geithner.  Daschle.  Killefer.  Solis.  Now Emanuel.

    Hope ‘n change!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    From Contentions:

Let’s see… a Democratic representative gets free housing from a pollster who enjoys some very lucrative contracts from both that representative and a very influential group said representative heads up? Why, I’d never even suggest some kind of a quid pro quo arrangement.

All through his campaign, Obama and his surrogates touted his great judgment and his commitment to change and transparency. Yet more and more of his nominees keep getting exposed for their ethical lapses, especially in the area of doing their “patriotic duty” (as Vice President Biden puts it) and paying “their fair share” of taxes.

There are numerous explanations for this  pattern of behavior, but here’s a theory that’s becoming less laughable: There simply aren’t enough Democrats who are both competent and honest to fill all the vacancies in Obama’s administration.

Obama vs. Pelosi: Can the President Work with the Democrats?

    By Jay Newton-Small / Washington Wednesday, Feb. 04, 2009

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi listens as President Barack Obama speaks to the press before a meeting with bipartisan congressional leadership in the White House

    Jason Reed / Reuters

For all his high-minded talk of bipartisanship and common purpose, Barack Obama was always aware that Republicans in Congress weren't going to simply set aside their philosophical differences and embrace the new President's ambitious agenda. But he had reason to hope that Democrats on Capitol Hill, while not going along with everything, would at least give him a honeymoon period. So it must be a bit of a jolt these days for Obama to frequently find himself so out of step with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whose tacit support of Obama's campaign was felt long before her endorsement was made official.

On nearly every major issue - from the auto bailout and the stimulus bill to tax cuts and the delicate question of whether to investigate Bush Administration officials for crimes related to torture - Pelosi has voiced and even pushed through the House differing positions from the President, at times to the embarrassment of Democrats. Obama and Pelosi each, of course, have distinct motives, and personalities: Pelosi is a partisan warrior who must tend to her caucus, while Obama got elected as a postpartisan healer, implicitly attacking the old ways of Washington and striving to appeal to a broader national base.

But their differences could have serious consequences. Democrats are enjoying expanded majorities in both congressional chambers as well as control of the White House, but their potential to see much of their agenda passed rests on their ability to get along. Past Speakers - most notably Democrat Tip O'Neill, whose intraparty bouts with Jimmy Carter were legendary - have squandered similarly powerful party perches when they've turned on the Executive Branch. "All marriages have ups and downs, but Obama will ultimately win. He is President with significant political capital," says James Thurber, founder of American University's Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies. "And he must build cross-party support, something Pelosi does not excel at."

Still, even though Obama has an approval rating roughly three times the size of Congress's, Pelosi has shown herself unwilling to quietly execute Obama's agenda the way former Speaker Dennis Hastert did President George W. Bush's. Back then, House Republicans didn't openly revolt against President Bush until the sixth year of his Administration, bitterly but quietly swallowing early bipartisan programs like the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan and No Child Left Behind. By contrast, even before Obama took office, he and Pelosi diverged on bailing out the failing auto companies. Looking to secure as much support as possible for the controversial aid package, Obama did not rule out Republican proposals to use a fund set up in early 2008 to modernize the industry rather than TARP money - a move Pelosi vehemently opposed. Pelosi was forced to swallow a compromise, though that deal died in the Senate and ultimately President Bush used money from the bank bailout to help Detroit.

Pelosi has also been vocal in calling on the President to repeal Bush's tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans this year, a move Obama has been unwilling to commit to in the current economic climate; some in the Administration have suggested that it's preferable to just let the cuts lapse when they expire next year. And the House Speaker has refused to rule out investigating former Bush Administration officials, even after Obama said he would prefer to keep the party's focus forward-looking.

But the starkest differences have been over the stimulus plan. In early January, Obama said he would like to see as much of 40% of the stimulus bill be comprised of tax cuts. Pelosi didn't agree, ultimately delivering legislation with just a third in tax cuts. When House Republicans objected to two provisions in the bill - one providing Medicaid family-planning aid to states, and another funding restoration of the National Mall - Obama quickly asked to have the offending items removed. Around the same time, he traveled to the Hill to reach out to and commiserate with the House GOP.

Sensing the rift, House Republicans have sought to play the two off each other. The message upon leaving their meeting with Obama last week was: "We'd encourage the House leadership to emulate the President in his outreach to our party," as Representative Scott Garrett, a New Jersey Republican, said archly. Or, as a House GOP leadership aide said at the time, "If you have an opponent with a 70% approval rating and one with a 20% approval rating, you're going to go after the one with a 20% approval rating." In explaining why not a single Republican voted for the stimulus package, the GOP squarely blamed Pelosi for failing to live up to Obama's bipartisan mantra and writing a bill without any input from the other side.

"Is it your fault in some ways," pressed a reporter at Pelosi's weekly press conference last Thursday, "that Barack Obama's first vote was so partisan and not bipartisan?"

Pelosi snapped back: "I didn't come here to be partisan. I didn't come here to be bipartisan. I came here, as did my colleagues, to be nonpartisan, to work for the American people, to do what is in their interest."

Obama may have the political capital, but Pelosi has no illusions about the way things work on Capitol Hill. "What she realized with Obama coming in was that, yeah, we can go through this dance, but at the end of the day, this was going to be a tutorial for the Obama folks," a House staffer close to Pelosi told Politico. "They're all going to vote against you and then come to your cocktail party that night."

I am so sorry I didnt get a chance to post an update yesterday.  Olivia had soooo many visitors.  It was non-stop from 9:30am - 8:00pm I never even turned on my computer.

In addition, I have been very busy working with hospital administration on a new Oncotype Dx workshop, a Breast Implant Calculation Center, an improved Breast Cancer Awareness Center, A Bible Study Group, a Children Gastro Support Group, A Physical Fitness Class, a Undiagnosed Child Disease Research Center, higher speed Internet servers, an anti-stalking security task force, and how to make this a happier place to work.  But I have taken a five minute "ciesta" to post this for you:

    Olivia update Monday, February 9th:

Yesterday doc said that they would remove her fluids today.  But of course, God had a different plan.  Her IV started leaking yesterday so they had to go ahead and remove it.  The doc said not to put it back in and lets see if she can get enough fluids by herself.   She is able to "eat" and drink.  Of course it is a very little amount, but it is so awesome to see ANYTHING go in her mouth!  She does have some discomfort afterwords, but it is to be expected and it is tolerated by her pretty well.  They just give her the meds.  They have "weaned" her from the anxiety drugs so that is a relief for me!  LOL

This morning her official weight was 77 lbs.  So the total weight loss was 13 pounds.

As of this morning, docs said she can go home tomorrow but not back to school until next Monday.  Then they said she will only be released to go half days for at least the first week.  This is for two reasons.  One is she wont have the strength to go a full day, second is that her immune system is compromised and she will be susceptible to any and every germ until she has recovered more.  And I think we all know a stomach virus would land us back here faster than we can say "what?"

We can alternate between morning classes one day and afternoon classes the next day.  I will work with the school counselor for best "time slots" each day.  Then she has 3 weeks of work to make up, plus not continue to get behind.  Thanks goodness she is very smart and has good grades so maybe it wont be too difficult to get caught back up.

Dr. Muhanna (sp?) in Gainesville has offered to review her MRI for free!  So I am going to get the pics and written results to take with when we leave here.  This is not because they think something is still wrong, it is because Empty Sella Syndrome is so rare that any doc would want to see it.  At least this is what I am assuming, I really haven't asked why he wants to see them, I am just very grateful for the offer.

So as of now, looks like this is our last day/night at "Scottish Rite Resort & Spa"!

Edited to add: P.S. Her older brother, Drew, has spent the whole weekend here with her and even spent the night in the hospital last night with us!  He has been sharing her "angel" story with everyone!  PTL
