Any bets?...the next breaking story will be that one Chicago Demwit owns a weather stripping company, another Chicago Demwit owns a window company, another Chicago Demwit owns a caulking company, etc.!

This cra* happens all the time in the Land of Crooks. And now it's spread to the United Crooks of America.

Vivre, I am glad that you also report on corrupt Republican politicians .. that we can talk about the negatives of our own party, address the issues both good and bad here on this thread.  It's not just about reporting Positive Republican and Negative Democrat  ...  we may be biased in our views but corruption is dirty business no matter whose playing!

10pm Sherri ... I don't get home til just after 6, my friend.  I want to get Little Miss Muffet a snack, look up some scrips and post them ... then she and I will be able to focus and pray with you all at 7pm our time.  I believe prayers are powerful weapons against our enemy. We know God will hear our prayer and he will answer --- let's pray that His Will is for healing ..  I mean she can't grow a new gland, but hopefully the dr's will have a quick solution to this.

Rock, remember that you are talking about Illinois republicans. They are the definition of RINOS. La Hood does not have anything in common with any thing republican except that he has an R after his name. He is by no means conservative. He ran as a Republican because it was easier to get elected that way in his district. He is funded by the Chicago dems, thus he does their bidding. The cockroaches in Ilinois are all the same breed. True to form, when someone turns on the lights, they run for cover. I wish I could be happy the lights are on and they are now hiding out in Washington. They are really useless and disgusting little creatures.I hope the Orkin man arrives with an arsenal. We are going to need it.

I am laughing because we cannot get this time straight!! Okay, Rock, you pick the time and we will run with it!! Also, if you can add a verse to Sherri's prayer and put it together that would be great. Then we can say the same prayer together.

"I say to you further, that if two of you shall agree on earth about anything at all for which they ask, it shall be done for them by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three are gathered together for my sake, there am I in the midst of them".

Well as I said earlier, right now their biggest concern is the lack of nutrition, so this is going to be addressed tomorrow.

They are going to have to put her to sleep and put in a feeding tube down her nose past her tummy and straight into her intestines.  It has to bypass the stomach because if they force anything into it, it will trigger the brain and make her vomit.................not good.

Rem the hysteria scale of 1 - 30?  This doesnt even register.  In fact I dont know what you could call how she will handle this.  SO.........they are sending in a child psychologist and the doctor that she has bonded with to start preparing her now for what will happen tomorrow..........................................................going to be a long long long 24 hours.  Actually, until we are on our way home all healed, it is fixing to go down hill for her psychologically............................................................................................I would rather go through hard chemo and be bald again than to have to do this to her.

I trust God, I have faith in God, I know He has this thing under control.  I am angry with Him (but He already knows this and has forgiven me for it), I dont understand it, I am terrified of it--more than cancer or anything else.  I have never felt so horrible in all my natural born life.  Thank goodnessGod is carrying me because I couldnt do this without His strength.  Im still mad, but I am thankful we are His children.

beesie, thanks for the link!  I have been so busy with drs, emails, phone calls, I keep forgetting to do my research!  So, Im gonna start with your link!  You are the bestest.  Laughing

Moody, geez....I have to admit....I LOVE YOU!  LOL  You are a wonderful mom and still have your humor although you are going through one of the MOST difficult times in your life.  Yep, the most difficult is...HYSTERIA FROM A KID!  LOL  Seriously, waiting and waiting and watching your child suffer is horrible.  I am glad they found the problem...now the solution.  And I used to worry myself to death when my oldest got an ear infection!  Long story.

Looks like Beesie has something for you to read.  I have an empty place in my brain, but I'm sure you already noticed!  Laughing

Please let us know when you find out what's next.  I know you and Olivia will be soooo happy to go back home and sleep in your own beds.

Geez, I've finaly read the last post from page 238.  You gals have been really chatty today.

I have mixed emotions when the government comes in and tells anyone how much money they can make.  I heard some of the execs only took $1 pay for last year.  I just don't know.  I'm like you, Sherri.  I realize this is taxpayers $$$, but how long do these execs fall under this $500,000 a year thing?  Government is scary.  And don't forget, there's so many cheaters in the government...one being Geithner.  And then what about Rangel?  And then Dodd?  And who knows what Barney's been up to.  And Daschle....WOW....oh, and the woman who had problems with her taxes..heck..who knows what may have been found IF she had not withdrawn her name.  I didn't mention how much I can't stand Pelosi and Reid.  I be they have something in their background too.  Pelosi (yuck) and her dh had something going that was questionable.  But, who cares...SHE'S THE QUEEN!

I can see I'm going to be talking to myself for a while.  But that's okay..I'm used to it!

I found this to be VERY interesting about Dashle's healthcare "possible" plans.  Kinda scary if this is what he really thought.  We really need to keep an eye out for this stuff.

How the Stimulus Bill Could Kill You

    By Douglas O'Brien

When you read through the nearly seven hundred pages of the House stimulus bill it is easy to begin dozing off after a few hundred billion dollars worth of run-of-the-mill wasteful government spending.  One has to keep a keen eye out for the components of the bill that don't just steal your money, but that may actually do you great physical harm, if not kill you outright.
On page 151 of this legislative pork-fest is one of the clandestine nuggets of social policy manipulation that are peppered throughout the bill.  Section 9201 of the stimulus package establishes the "Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research."  This body, which would be made up of federal bureaucrats will "coordinate the conduct or support of comparative effectiveness and related health services research."

Sounds benign enough, but the man behind the Coordinating Council, Health and Human Services Secretary-designate (and tax cheat) Tom Daschle, was kind enough to explain the goal of this organization.  It is to cut health care costs by preventing Americans from getting treatments that the government decides don't meet their standards for cost effectiveness.  In his 2008 book on health care, he explained that such a council would, "lower overall spending by determining which medicines, treatments and procedures are most effective-and identifying those that do not justify their high price tags."

Once a panel of government experts decides what is and what is not cost-effective by their definition, the government will stop paying for treatments, medicines, therapies or devices that fall into the latter category.  Initially, this will limit access to very expensive treatments for federal employees, veterans, the elderly, members of the military and their dependents and others who rely on the feds to pay for their health care.  But since this would place nearly half of health care dollars off limits for such treatments, the demand for and further development of such treatments would likely dry up.  And Daschle wants to expand the Coordinating Council's power even further, allowing the government to deny tax benefits for private insurance that covers treatments deemed too expensive by the Council.  Thus, if a handful of government employees deem a therapy not cost effective, no health insurance will cover it and it will become virtually unobtainable to patients at any cost.

Mind you, they are not simply looking to exclude treatments that don't work, but to exclude treatments that are effective, but whose cost, in their opinion, does not justify their use.  You, the patient, and your physician don't get a vote. This would make the federal government the single most important decision-maker regarding health care for every patient in America.

This is also another wonderful example within the stimulus bill of infantile economics.  When something is new it is usually expensive, (think $3,000 VCR's back in the ‘70s).  As supply increases, two important things happen.  First, innovations take place that improve the product.  Second, the cost comes down.  If the feds step in and say, no, that new treatment is too expensive, it will never have the chance to become better, the supply will not increase and it won't become more cost-effective.  It will just die on the shelf, and so will the patients who potentially could have benefited.

For example, scientists have found that proton beams can be used to destroy cancerous tumors by pinpointing the beam on a tumor diminishing the collateral damage to surrounding tissue that often accompanies conventional photon radiation treatment.  Five facilities in the United States offer proton therapy at places like Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of Texas.  The five can treat a total of about 8,000 patients a year.  Protons are most beneficial for children who can suffer severe developmental side-effects from radiation treatment.  But the therapy is expensive, often running over $100,000 for a six-week course of treatment.  But as new proton treatment facilities are built, improving the delivery of the therapy and increasing its supply, prices will decrease and quality will improve.  But how will a panel of bureaucrats react to this situation?  Will they allow insurance to cover a treatment that can be many times more expensive than conventional care and let it reach its full potential?  Or will it be blackballed for future patients in the name of cost-containment?

Imagine the conversation:  Parents are told that their daughter has a brain tumor.  Doctors will immediately begin radiation treatment to destroy the tumor.  But they also tell the parents that bombarding the child's brain with radiation will likely have developmental impacts.  The doctors lament that there once was a better way to deal with this situation with a higher success rate and virtually no side effects, but some people in Washington decided it was too expensive and the centers that offered it closed and no one persisted in further developing the therapy.

Repeat this scenario time and time again and you will glimpse health care in the Age of Hope and Change.  Emphasis will be shifted to prevention and management of chronic illness-an excellent idea and potentially very economically beneficial.  But health care will be frozen in time.  New treatments come on the market at very high costs and most often represent incremental improvements over existing care.  That is how progress works and that is why we live longer lives than our great-grandparents.  But that is exactly the kind of progress that Daschle and his Coordinating Council will be targeting in order to limit health care spending.  It is a perfect example of the way socialized medicine rations care in the name of equality of access and proves the old Canadian axiom that, "national health care is wonderful, unless you get really sick."

Now, all this time, we have been told that Republicans were the ones who only saw health care in terms of dollars and sense and that the Democrats were champions of the needs of the ordinary people.  The reality is the exact opposite.  A market-based system promoted by many Republicans allows patients to control their care rather than bureaucrats and encourages innovations that save and prolong lives.  Under this new health care order, it will be the express task of government employees to stand between you and your family and potentially life-saving care, all in the name of dollars and cents.

Heavenly Father, hear our plea on behalf of our sister in Christ, Karen and her daughter, Olivia.  We lift Olivia up to your healing hands.  We lift Karen up for your strength and courage.  Dear Lord we ask that you give the doctors the wisdom they need to help Olivia.  May Your grace and love be on the whole family.   Lord, God of All Comfort and Strength, we ask that you pour out your Holy Spirit upon them, protect them and guide them. You are the Great Healer, please renew their strength.  We know that all of our lives are in your care and keeping as we wait upon You and upon Your promise that one day there will be no more sickness, no more tears. We look to You and to your kingdom for all these things to take place forever, but right now, please look especially on Olivia. It is to you we give glory. In Jesus Name we send our prayer. Amen.

(Some people like to look things up in their own version of the bible (KJV, NKJ, NIV, The Living Bible or whatever you have in your home, or you can read them here)

    Verses for reflection:

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like an eagle; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." -- (Isaiah 40:28-31 NIV)

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

"This is what the Lord says,: 'Your wound is incurable, your injury is beyond healing. There is no one to plead your cause, no remedy for your sore, no healing for you. All your allies have forgotten you; they care nothing for you. ... But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds...'"  (Jeremiah 30:12-14, 17)

When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to HIM and He drove out the spirits with His word and healed all that were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases." (Matthew 8:16-17)

He [Jesus] said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering." (Mark 5:34)

Let not your heart be troubled. You are entrusting God, now trust in Me. (John 14: 1).

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6)

I will never fail you nor forsake you. (Heb. 13:5)

Oh, Moody, after reading more I feel HORRIBLE being silly responding to you.

I know that I had people praying for me when I had my mast.  Why?  Because I was TOOOOO calm.  I will also pray that God gives Olivia peace when she is told what is going to happen.  That she will not be so scared.

I will join in prayer with rest of the gals at 10PM.  God bless you, Moody.  He knows your heart is heavy and understands your pain watching your little one.

    Hugs,

Well, Obama should be embarrassed by wanting this oink bill.  He didn't read it.  He's a lawyer, right?  Doesn't he know that before you sign something you're suppose to read the fine print?

So, lets see.  Putting people back to work...training them to weatherize homes...Heck we just weatherized...at the tune of $2,000 for the attack and underneat the house.  No government agent to help pay for ours.  And, we will NOT recoup that money for yyeaaarrrrrssss!  We cannot affored to buy those nice new kind of windows that flip out (have about 22 windows..would be thousands..think the government would pay for it?), but we do have those old timey storm windows.  My husband can do the weather stripping if we need it.

Don't be fooled by Obama's "reaching across the isle (or is it aisle, or I'll).

Oh, and the dummy must not have known or if he did know that MADE IN THE USA ONLY was not going to help...oh, I guess he wouldn't.  What the heck does he know about economy?  Or running a nation?  Or hiring tax dodgers?

I can GAURANTEE you that President Bush would have NEVER even have thought about signing a bill that said no steel except for made in the USA.  He wasn't that supid!  And, the repubs wouldn't have written something like that in the first place.  Only demwits!

Moody, I have prayed.  I'm a fast prayer.  LOL

You've got me crying.  I am so glad Olivia knows how much we love you and OF COURSE her too.  We who have children knows what it's like to go through these trials.  Remember, it's a trial and Olivia will get better SOON!  There is nothing like a mommy's love.  If you haven't shown her the poem about how God made woman, she must read it.

Olivia, now trust that God will take care of you.  That's easy for me to say, isn't it?  Yes, it's scary.  Very scary. And you are so young to have to go through these tests.  Your mom and God will be there with you every step of the way.  If you're anything like your mom...well, she scares me!

I will say another prayer for you tonight and tomorrow morning.

    God bless you too, Moody!

rock - I agree...yes, of course there are Republican thugs. Perfect example - the ex-Governor of Illinois - George Ryan - he's a Repub - but he's currently in jail making our license plates.

Honestly - I want BO to do a good job - not because I support him or his party - but because I happen to live in this country. We are all fortunate that we can choose who we support. BO will be pres for the next 4 years...we can't change that and we need for him to do a good job. His start has not been a good one.

If we want we can read the entire 1500+ pages of the stimulus package.  They're looking for volunteer readers so we can find out exactly what's in it..the small print, so to speak.

    http://www.readthestimulus.org/

I started reading it.  A lot of the money, though I lost count, is being held till 2010 for different purposes.  That's number 1.  Hmmm, this was suppose to get money to hit the streets this year to stimulate employment, now.  So what's the rush to put a bad bill in place if they're holding back so much money?

I heard it on the radio that some of the Dems in the House are quite upset with Pelosi running shotgun on them to do her bidding.  They wanted to clean up the stimulus package and she wouldn't let them.  Now all the embarrassment of this package is on them and they don't like it.

I am watching my baby girl slowly starve to death and there is nothing I can do to help her.  While these freaking doctors argue over who should be treating her, she is deteriorating.  she has had NOTHING in 7days and now she is too weak to get up to go to the bathroom.

She got so bad starting about 9:50 and it lasted till 4:00am.  They had given her all the meds they could and nothing worked.  I dont understand why God doesnt heal her or send in the right doc with the right treatment.  I dont understand what purpose there is in her suffering so much.  I dont understand any of this and I need it to go away.
