Sunday well some must leave so this will be a day of goodbyes.. we do have an auction and you can bring stuff if you want... a basket exchange too- just make sure they are packable, or I'll mail them home for the flyers.... In 07 most brought little goodie bags from their area to share.. anyway..happy planning
Bring your tents, campers, chairs, and your significant other if you want...I have a hot tub, and may set up the sprinkler in case it gets hot so swim suits should be packed oh yeah and a bouncy house for the little ones

from the north(Buffalo)....190 to route 400 south, which ends and then turns into Route 16 south, which takes you into HINSDALE...go under the expressway(route 86) and take the first Right onto Gile Hollow...Turn left onto Maple Hill Rd...(up a hill) then look for the signs...
(Binghamton) east ...Route 86 to the Hinsdale Exit...left onto Route 16...first right onto Gile Hollow follow the pink ribbons
(Erie, Pa.)west...Route 86 to Allegany Exit...follow the signs to the Allegany Limestone School (and the pink ribbons)turn onto the the Five Mile Road...do not turn off.(+\-13 miles) to the top of the hill...(mountain)...turn left onto Steward Rd...second house on left....
South (Pa)....inside joke...(you can't get here from there)...anyway somehow get to Route 86...then follow either east or west directions....why is there no easy way thru Pa...?

Happy New Year MB ... I'm really looking forward to Pinkstock 2009 and really want to plan ahead this year to ensure that I can actually go ... can't believe that your DH and your family are actually up for hosting pinkstock yet again ... I'd seen a post at G's site that said they didn't think you could host it this year ... glad to see that it's a possiblity ... and that you're open to someone else stepping up to host it... I really really want to go this year and will do everything in my power to be there this year!!!

Details needed: where is "my place"? It is a total camp out thing or a hotel nearby? PM me if you like. It would be great to meet you all in person.

Well, I'll plan to take that week off - hopefully I'll get it granted as a vacation week. How cool to finally meet-up with everyone. And by then Avery will be 3-years old so quite precocious and fun!
-
ok a little info.....
feel free to check back at 07 & 08
I live in a VERY small town.... no post office...called Ischua, NY an hour or so south of Buffalo...
PS did anyone know its the anniversary of another NY gathering...lol Woodstock...
there are hotels , in town, I can get campers for sleeping, or bring your tents... it is my back yard so not much , my home is open, for showers and washing up.. I put up a pool last year.. and 5 acres of room.... campfires at night and good food... and a hug...
so if you want I will do it again... first weekend in Aug...

I am in northern Virginia,so the Buffalo, NY area is not such a bad drive. Keep me up to date on the plans. How long is the event? Any side trips or special events or just hanging out and singing around the camp fire?
Nancy
-
just checking in... any other interested in hosting? or should I start planning.....
hello from the icy hill...
hugs MB

MB-Your the greatest. I just checked flights and they are same price as last year. Amazing. I would rather drive this year but dh thinks I am crazy. My 30 year reunion is on July 12 so I guess my family would have to put up with us for longer this year. Dh could not stay that long though. Did anyone ever get together with the Cornet guy yet?
-
YAY MB! So glad you are considering doing Pinkstock again! Last year sounded like a blast and I hope to get to come this year and meet everyone and have good fellowship and great fun. I love watching the tape that was made of the band--they were awesome. Thanks for keeping this tradition going!!
-
marking my spot. looking forward to this. Nancy
-
Ok as you may notice, I'm not online as much... don't have internet at work this year...lol...so
I ask we keep just one thread going.the 2009 one...BMD. can you get me the coronet guys email?
OD.. DH asked if he could do a car show again...lol.. I suppose if he has friends who want to go...
besides Jose' has a trophy to pick up... it was his fault they won...lol
take care all.. we have about 24" of snow here .. but I think I can see the bridge over the pond...lol
hugs from the hill
MB
-
MB-I will see if I can get that this week.
-
I am so looking foward to this..may be able to come early this year and help out MB.
Going to start on lots of little surprises and a basket for the basket exchange...will take my mind off the snow and ice. The tie dyed shirts were fun last year...shall I do that again or does someone have another fun "kid craft" we could do instead of or along with the shirts?
Will check back when I get a chance.
-
Yippeee!!!!!!! Thanks for offering your place again and for starting another thread. Remember last year all that work drama? Well, it started again except this time I lost my job. So, I don't have to worry about putting in for those vacation days. LOL. Count with us again this year. Hmmmm...I've got lots of time to get creative this year. BTW- Jose would love the car show again. He is still talking about those bargains he found.
-
Since I have not been before, could someone tell me about the basket exchange and any other details? I make plastic canvas water bottle/soda pop can covers with "cancer sucks" on them. I love car shows. Used to always go to the Mustang Club rallies. My bro has a former Calif Highway Patrol (CHIPS) Drug Chaser Mustang with a bullet hole in the trunk.
-
lefty...lol.. love the name.. anyway... we did a basket exchange... small items from your area..state.. etc.. and we swapped... drew names out of a hat... try to remember some have to fly home.. I did mail some home ... the first yr my DH worked his b*tt off.. and so did my boys, so last year they took anyone who wanted to go to a car show.. we have a few cars... I think they had fun...
Ok if you are a camper....I can get a few campers to sleep in... I open my home for showers, and get a porta potty... I even get wireless signal for cell phones now.... I have canopies for shade... cook outside and just hang out.. some of the girls worked on squares for the hugaghans...
Vickie did cool stuff with the kids...
Some brought little gifts for all that came... we had an auction to raise $$$.. and I sent it to BC research ..
so that's it in a nut shell..... sorta.. and it changes every year..
MB the nut on the hill

MB-As much as I would like to reserve our trailer for this year I will have to wait a few months to see if we can come. That was a very nice home for the week-end.
Newvickie-my mom had to mail all those margarita glasses home to me last year LOL.
-
mb, I am left handed and left side BC, hence the nick name lefty. TY for the basket info. How many attended? You are great to organize this and to offer your home and family. I will put on my thinking cap and see what ideas I can come up with.
Are most meals or all meals around the campfire? Dare I ask what happens if it rains? Sorry for asking so many questions.
Nancy
-
Hi Purplemb,
This sounds like fun. I live in Buffalo, not sure where Isuha is located. I hope to be able to attend. I will keep checking in on this thread for updates. I am glad to find this thread.

Nancy-I think there were 10 survivors and their familys last year. It was great fun. It did rain early one morning. Thunder and lightening and wind but it only last a short while. We stayed in our donated trailer until it was over. Check out the photos from the last 2 years on their corresponding threads and you will get the idea of what it was like. It really was a special time for all of us.
-
hi i want to see what it look like
-
TY bmd. I have marked my calendar and am looking forward to attending.
-
MB too funny!!!!! How many times did I change my mind about going??? Well, the Olympics won't get in the way.
Hope the job is good.
I'll start working on a t-shirt design. LOL Unless someone else wants to.
-
MB - Have you thought of a theme for this years event? You know, every time I see fairies now I smile and think of how much fun we had last year.
-
Hi everyone,
I have no idea how I stumbled onto this thread, but I am so glad that I did ..... I WANT TO COME to Pinkstock 2009. I live in Vermont, so the drive would be about 8 hours. I went through the pictures from last year, too, and the videos, and it sounds wonderful. I am trying to talk my friend, who also is a survivor, to make the trip with me.
I hope to make it and look forward to meeting you all.
Laurie
-
ok... whoo hoo.. glad to see some family from 2007 joining in...
and all the new friends...
well was thinking since it is woodstocks anniversary maybe some sort of "flower child" event...
tie dye, peace symbols, and such...? or what ever anyone else wants...
I just hope it warms up.. I am knee deep in snow....
hugs the nut on the hill

Can I make a suggestion? We could get some latex balloons, filled with helium and write a message to BC angels and "send" up to Heaven. I know the intent is for fun and happy, but one small amount of time to remember those who have gone before us... I make this suggestion after reading about Alaska Deb's passing.
-
MB, I had planned on attending this summer but . . . a community high school musical group my brother, sister, and I were involved with in Ohio in the 1970's is having a reunion the last weekend of July and I can't take off two weekends in a row to the North. Hope all have fun this summer.

I'd love to go!! When is it? Where? How long? Can someone post directions for me on the board. I need to know exactly where "my place" is once I get off the highway. Maybe you guys might want to create a webpage for Pinkstock, so newbies like me can get all our info.
-
nice to meet you bethie -
purple - michael is thinking maybe we could even get back out there .... whoohooo
