It's interesting that triple negative bc patients are not permitted homone replacement therapy, even though their tumors are touted as not hormone related.

    Thank you Jersey,

Summer, I wonder if the reason to not do replacement therapy is due to the fact that cancer will often morph from tn to positive and vise versa.  Some feel that if you lay enough fuel in from of cancer it will find a way to use it to grow.

I think most of the companies are in "survival" mode. Whatever it takes to survive this year Frown

I read this funny saying somewhere , I might have already psoted it here I do have my senior moments but it is good enough to repeat.

Due to the uncertain economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off until further notice.

    Vivre,

Thanks, I missed the chart.  Sometimes it's a good thing I miss stuff.  My husband was watching some of the train ride, I told him he has a choice, either change the channel or kill me.  I need a cup of soothing green tea, laced with ginger.  That should help.

Rosemary, as Sherri says, there is the food network, and HGTV and FLN and the good old fashioned novel, the trashier the better. Pure escapism

I turned the news on for 2 minutes. Even Fox is showing people waiting for the train to pass. Are these people nuts or what. Just so they can say, I once saw the train pass. Hey, I once saw AF1 fly over my head when Reagan gave a speech nearby. I liked Reagan, but I can't say it was the highlight of my life, even though it was pretty cool to see the chopper. Is the chopper still called AF1? Tea sounds like a good idea. I think I will take you up on that one Rosemary.

    Sherri,

Steelers and Arizona, in the superbowl.  Both teams are so fired up.  But I don't know who I want to win.  Ok, after loads of thought, one minute...Arizona.  They want it more.  50 cents???

Also, a recession is another way for companies to double the work load on to people for half the money.  Some could be taking advantage.

    Vivre,

Better than AF1 flying over.  I had the shuttle going over my head.  It kept circling around so the kids could come out of school and see it.  It was quite a sight to see that plane sitting on the other one flying around.

Sherrie and Vivre----Food Network and HGTV may only be an option if Pepsi, -(It's Obama Refresh America campaign) (You didn't think Pepsi's subtle changes in its insignia was a coincidence?)  Jones soft drinks or Coke (Honest Tea-  Barack Forest Berry) are not sponsoring the shows. LOL Wink

Well, I got plenty of 50 centers.  You want in Susie?  We use to go to the oiler games and my son was an avid steeler fan, of course we went to those games and he had his steeler shirt on.  Well don't you think someone had the gall to throw popcorn at him.  He was young at the time.  I stood up and asked: ok, who did it?  Everyone looked the other way.  We had more fun at the steeler games.

I see your raise, Sherri.  But I reserve the right after tomorrow's game to double.  I probably watched your BIL play.

Our weather sucks here, our football team sucks. Have some mercy, and change the subject! Well maybe as one of Obama first miracles he can make a winner out of the Cubs. If he can do that, he truly is the ONE.

I feel sorry for some people who cannot be accepting of such an outstanding preacher like Warren.  I think its very sad that one would compare a man who bases his moral compass on the bible to that of a pedophile. That is just sickening!   He opposes gay marriage, he is not raping homosexuals.

Saddleback Church out here is busting at the seams. Their radio channel is terrific, I love listening to Greg Laurie and other pastor coming across the airwaves on the ride to work.

    Here's an article about him:

Under fire for opposing gay marriage, influential evangelical pastor Rick Warren said Saturday that he loves Muslims, people of other religions, Republicans and Democrats, and he also loves "gays and straights."

The 54-year-old pastor and founder of Saddleback Church in Southern California told the crowd of 500 that it's unrealistic to expect everyone to agree on everything all the time.

"You don't have to see eye to eye to walk hand in hand," said Warren.

Warren also defended President-elect Barack Obama's invitation that he give the invocation at the Jan. 20 inauguration in the keynote speech he delivered at the Muslim Public Affairs Council's annual convention in Long Beach

Obama's choice of Warren earlier this week sparked outcry from gay rights and other liberal groups, who said choosing such an outspoken opponent of gay marriage was tantamount to endorsing bigotry.

"Three years ago I took enormous heat for inviting Barack Obama to my church because some of his views don't agree (with mine)," he said. "Now he's invited me."

Warren said he prays for the same things for Obama that he prays for himself: integrity, humility and generosity.

Obama defended his choice on Thursday, saying that he has also invited Joseph Lowery, a Methodist minister and civil rights leader who supports same-sex marriage and gay rights, to deliver the benediction.

"During the course of the entire inaugural festivities, there are going to be a wide range of viewpoints that are presented. And that's how it should be, because that's what America's about. That's part of the magic of this country ... we are diverse and noisy and opinionated," Obama said.

Toward the end of his speech on Saturday, Warren also talked about Singer Melissa Ethridge, who performed earlier in the evening. Warren said the two had a "wonderful conversation" and that he is a huge fan who has all her albums.

Ethridge even agreed to sign her Christmas album for him, he said.

Warren gained a prominent role in the presidential election in August when he hosted the Civil Forum on the Presidency, a two-hour televised show in which he interviewed Obama and his Republican opponent John McCain for an hour each on faith and moral issues.

Warren has won kudos from some liberal quarters by focusing less on traditional conservative issues such as abortion and gay rights, and instead calling on evangelical leaders to devote more attention to eradicating poverty, fighting AIDS in Africa, expanding educational opportunity for the marginalized, and global warming.

But the preacher ignited the ire of many liberals when he publicly supported California's Proposition 8, which amended the state Constitution to ban gay marriage.

Although Warren has said that he has nothing personally against gays, he has condemned same-sex marriage.

Albanian town bids sorrowful farewell to Bush

By Benet Koleka Benet Koleka - Sat Jan 17, 1:59 am ET

FUSHE-KRUJE, Albania (Reuters) - At the "George W. Bush" cafe in this little Albanian town, owner Festim Cela gives a solemn reply when asked if it will change its name when the U.S. President leaves office Tuesday.

Many beyond U.S. shores may welcome the end of Bush's presidency, but in zealously pro-American Albania, he is feted as a hero.

"As long as this building stands, its name will be George W. Bush," Cela said as he watched television pictures of Bush's farewell speech the week before Barack Obama succeeds him.

Below the TV is a table where Bush sat to discuss a U.S.-funded micro-loan program with a baker, a barber, a tailor and a shepherd when he visited Fushe-Kruje on June 10, 2007.

The chairs bear a copper plate with names of Bush and his wife Laura.

People in Fushe-Kruje said they were sad to see him leave and cherished the memory of his visit.

Waving and blowing kisses, a shirt-sleeved Bush crossed the main street from Cela's cafe to Klarita Topi's bakery, where pictures of his visit hang on the wall.

"His visit was a big blessing for the people of Fushe-Kruje, for our business and the whole of Albania," Topi said.

"It was a day of great joy. He got us into NATO, made us known to the world, and all has gone well for us."

Topi's bakery and Cela's cafe have turned into landmarks for Albanians and foreigners keen to see places Bush visited.

Topi, who received a loan under the U.S. program, said Albanian migrant workers returning home came to see the shop. Italian tourists thought the photos were fakes.

"President Bush came to Fushe-Kruje with the independence of Kosovo. This is a big debt which can never be returned. Thanks U.S.," Rasim Qorraj from Decani in Kosovo wrote in a book Cela keeps at the cafe along with the Albanian, U.S. and EU flags.

Albania, once an isolated state, has blossomed since the fall of communism in 1990 and now embraces all things Western.

It's people reserve special affection for the United States, which they credit not only with ending their Cold War isolation but also for leading NATO in 1999 to rescue the Albanians of neighboring Kosovo from "ethnic cleansing" by Serbia.

"Thank you Mr. Bush! Thank you U.S.A.! God Bless U.S. Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful)," wrote Agim Gashi.

Bush backed Kosovo's independence during the visit and urged the Kosovo Albanians to be patient. The United States was one of the first countries to recognize Kosovo's independence in February 2008.

The visit was also marked by reports Bush lost or had his watch stolen there but television pictures showed he had given it to a bodyguard.

"I wish he had another mandate," Cela said."

Bush, the first U.S. President to visit the ex-communist state, dived into a throng of waiting Albanian fans and enjoyed a rock-star reception.

While meeting the crowd, Bush stopped and embraced 70-year-old Thomaidha Kaziu.

"I started shaking with emotion. There were a lot of people behind me who wanted to meet him. I was told he said I resembled his mother. It was a great day for me," Kaziu said.

Here are a few words if cheer from our soon to be FL.

    http://michelleobamasuicidewatch.blogspot.com/

I just had a scary thought. Remember how angry Hillary was with her rhetoric when Bill was running? Do you think MOO has made a bargain with her husband that SHE will run when he is out. What a nightmare .

I wonder what color MOO is going to wear to the ball. I bet it will be the black and red-she loves those commie colors and black is good for hiding a big you know what.

Ok, Susie's in!  Easy money.   I think there's a song that goes with that bet....Dreamin, I'm always dreamin.   There doesn't seem to be any Baltimore fans around here.

Good to see that your back Shirley!  And full of vinegar and spice.

Not to worry about our debt Sherri, Madam Pelosi is on the job.  She'll get that last dime out of our pockets soon enough.  I better be quick in collecting my bets.

Oh, Vivre...you won a place at the inauguration.  Enjoy!

This is from Michelle Malkin's site:

A reader who works for the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal IT department would like you to know how affordable housing tax dollars are being spent.

    He e-mails:

We are being forced to broadcast the inauguration to all staff in multiple locations throughout the state. This is a big undertaking for us, requiring staff to stop providing affordable housing for all New Yorkers, and instead focus on streaming an inaugural address. ...This needs media attention. The people of New York deserve to know where their tax dollars are going. The NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal just imposed dramatic budget cuts to programs that help assist New Yorkers. Those programs are out, and streaming Presidential Address' using NYS employees, equipment, and other resources are in.

Every network under the sun, including QVC and Comcast's all-Obama channel, will be streaming the inaugural. Why is this necessary?

Like I said this morning: Welcome to the era of "shared sacrifice."

People are funny at her site ...

One person is going to keep their flag at half mast during Obama's whole term.

    ====

Another writes: I live in the DC area and am getting out of here Friday night and not returning till Wednesday. What a nightmare it will be.

How empty must one's life be that their identity becomes completely wrapped up in a politician? And not even a good one, just a run-of-the-mill hack like BHO?

    ====

I will not be watching it. I think I'll get enough of him inadvertently for the next four years.

The kids and I spent some time this morning viewing comparisons of the current Obama worship and the Hitler worship of the late 1930's. I'm probably on some watch list now.

    ====

chap, you maybe being sarcastic, but the media is in full blown obama worship mode. Its a religous experience for them. "welcome to post racial america??" Well if thats true we no longer need affirmative action, race quotas, jessie jackson, al sharpton, the black caucus, etc etc etc...

    right? right???
