I am a non smoker. What are cigarettes? Rocktober, I like it.
Mama L., Day 14.
-
Raye, how and why does a bikini bottom have flaps? I had all sorts of pictures in my head, but I'm pretty sure no of them are right...
-
Raye HOOOORAYE!!! You did it!
No puffs from no on. You don't need 'em, you don't want 'em.
-
Barbe - the top of the bikini bottom has a, for lack of a better word, flap that folds over. Here is a pic of the brown bikini I bought last year - this year I bought the bottoms in black white. The brown on white area of the bikini bottom folds over.
Linora - Thanks for your support!!! My running is definitely improving, which is motivational.
-
Raye- you should buy yourself a non smoker gift after 30 days!!
I am so exhausted I can hardly keep my eyes open, I just got home. Our mtg was 5 hours- it started in the office and then turned into dinner. I'm going back on Friday for another few hours in the afternoon. Today I wore the black, gray, and white pattern wide leg pants with a big cuff at the bottom, and 5 inch heeled black boots, with the cream top, and black sweater. It was perfect, however, on Friday I'm totall wearing jeans, and dressing more casual now that I know the entire vibe. Tonight's outfit was perfect though.
I really am going to fall over if I don't get some sleep. I'll tell all the details tomorrow.
-
Holy crap Raye, its that you? I've never had thighs like that in my life! You go girl...
-
Oh sweetie! No, Barbe, I wish I had that bod!! That is a VS model.
Beth - that outfit sounds delicious!
-
What a cute bathing suit and what a georgeous bod!!! And I bet you $5 the tan she is wearing came from a bottle...her skin is so soft & supple. I never had a bod like that, I'm at the age where I never will, where women live through their daughters, and I don't have one, but I have Gina...it is so much fun dressing her up.She modeled for us at life drawing on Tuesday but I was too exhausted from the night before to do much good... We had a flood in our basement over the weekend from a busted pipe, and now we're looking at having to purchase a new water conditioning system from between $1500 to $4500 depending on the results of a recent arsenic test...Arrgghh!Beth, glad to here the first meeting went well and I understand how tired you are!! Rest up and make sure you are fresh as a daisy on Friday, now you can be YOU!I'm sitting with sunglasses on in my bedroom...the streaming sunshine reflecting off the snow is blinding. We got about 8 inches this week, it's fresh and pristine now, and the spruces trees are loaded with it. Last night it got down to minus ten!!! Now it's just 4. It's going to be a long winter!!!Linora
-
Linora that is terrible about the water system. I pray it's closer to 1500 then 4500.... it makes my stomach turn just typing it, so I can only imagine what you're feeling.
I posted pix of my hair color in the makeup thread. I was hoping to go to the drycleaners today, but it's snowing like crazy here... obviously we're getting the weather you just had... it's freezing. I guess I'm going to stay here and wrap myself in blankets and do laundry. FUN FUN FUN.
-
I love this thread-you guys make me LOL & it's like the old days when my sisters, friends & I REALLY talked, shopped & walked the fashion walk!!! I remember buying things we couldn't afford by all chipping in & sharing an item we coveted! Somehow we managed to share those things without ever being detected or getting mad at each other--it's a wonder! At that time I DID have a body like that model, but I wanted CURVES & didn't appreciate it! It was the bra-less era & I rarely went with the trend cuz I was self-consious about my lack of size & wanted the added assitance of a nice bra......My dd now has that bod & I tell her all the time how BEEYOOTIFUL she is (she wants boobs too! LOL) Funny how we sometimes get what we THINK we want, but not in a way we could have imagined! I finally loved my body just as it was; the old wish for bigger boobs long forgotten when it was fulfilled by bc recon-------careful what you ask for!
Beth-----glad it all worked out & you can relax for the next encounter.
AKA-I had 4 wigs that I played around with! WTH--I was bald & who didn't know it?? I went to morning Mass sometimes & the principal of the catholic school told me the kids played Where's Waldo with me at the school masses--they never knew what I would look like from one week to the next! LOL
Check out MSN for golden globe fashions--the critic writes some pretty funny (if far-reaching) descriptions! It's slow moving from pic to pic, but it was a fun few minutes when I had nothing else to do! I liked that dress Linora posted---it would be fun to see what each of us would do with it if we could change color, pattern, length, accessories ETC-----what a fun computer game THAT would be (probably already exists!!!!)
We have about a foot of new snow & it is -18 degrees not counting wind chill-no school!
Hugs--you all be well & stay strong
-
I thought everyone looked really good at the globes... They said Renee Zellweger was on the worst dressed list, and I thought she looked incredible on the stage when she presented.
I thought Beyonce's necklace was a littler over the top, even for the globes, with the sparkly dress she wore- but she still looked great.
I love the mermaid look on a lot of the gowns. I mean, if I had to starve myself, and work out for 2 hours every day of my life, and always look amazing, you bet your *ss I'm wearing a skin tight mermaid shaped dress on the red carpet.
I thought Eva longoria was a knock out....The scalopped edges around the breast of that bright red dress, was stunning... and I loved Kate Winslet's look, but I think the dress was a little under stated, especially on a night that she took home two of the biggest awards.
-
Most of the ladies did look incredible.
I especially liked Drew Barrymore's look (even with the biggish hair); I thought she looked lovely, as did Sandra Bullock. Yes, Eva Longoria looked stunning. She is just so cuddly cute, but sexy at the same time.
Beyonce is a beautiful girl, but her globes were riding mighty high in my opinion (could be the bilateral talking).
-
Isn't formal wear a blast?? It was one of the best parts of belonging to 3 ballroom dance clubs----wearing & seeing formals & having my man in his tux over 12 times a year! He even got into buying different studs, vests & ties (I feel like I'm in an old movie when he asks me to tie his REAL bow tie-not a clip on!) Maybe the day will come when I can actually be healed enough to dance like that again....got a closet full of gowns no one will remember by then!! LOL I am the GO-TO mom for prom accessories!!
Glad I am not one of the stylists for the looks they bashed!
-
I forgot about Drew Barrymore-- she was channeling Marilyn Monroe-- she looked great... And also Eva Mendes, with that white gown with the fan on the side, and that bold turqoise necklace...
-
Sounds as though you'd make a great stylist, Saint! FUN!
Oh yes, Eva - she is simply beautiful. She looked great.
What about a 15-day non smoking gift to myself? I want to go and buy that INC dress.
-
Raye-I say DO IT! If you do it now you should have it by the 30th day & then you can celebrate by accessorizing! Once you reward yourself you can't back slide or you will loose the chance to wear the reward----I can justify almost ANY purchase!!!! LOL
Gotta say--Heidi Klum, Debra Mesing & a few others should take their stylists to court!!! LOLOL How about that Irish actress-can't remember her name--looked like she was wearing something that use to hang on the back of my grandmother's bedroom door!!!!!!
-
Raye, you've probably saved enough money to justify the dress - go for it! You deserve it. I haven't had alcohol since December 14th, hmmmm what do I covet now; it's been a month for me.
-
Raye, I would definitely buy myself something wonderful. If you are dreaming of that dress, then just go buy it. One hundred years from now no one will be concerned that you didn't save the $120 or whatever it was.
It's 14 below zero here this morning. Hello, Al Gore. Well, my fashion statement today is bra, silk cami, fleece top, fleece vest, down jacket and that's only the top half of me! Furthermost southern parts are covered in heavy duty angora socks and insulated boots. You can only guess at what is in between............
-
Barbe - As long as it's not the neighbor's husband or wife you covet, you go for it.
Thanks Girls. I think I may just get that dress.
Tina - I like how you incorporated a silk cami into your cold weather outfit.
No such thing for me. Today is 7 below and I am wearing a long sleeved white tee under a long black sweater; orange scarf, slim black pants tucked into furry boots under which I have very warm wool socks.
-
I always say, go for that secret touch of seduction. Always keeps 'em panting.
-
LOL! You got it going on my girl.
-
Wool socks here also, brown thin wale cords, green turtle neck with a green fleece cardigan. Temp is up to 16 and the sun is shining at just past noon. Brrrrrrrrr. At least no white flakes in the air.
-
16 in VA? Wow, that is cold!!! I just talked to my girlfriend in Burlington, VT, where it is minus 14 there as well, Tina. BRRR
-
Hi, ladies! I've missed you. Been abit MIA due to work, weather, kitty health issues, etc.
Linora, that dress on KK (hey, she has my initials!) is so much like one I just bought, it's amazing, so I had to post a photo here -- I'm not in the dress (don't look as good as the other KK) but it fits very similarly, a bit clingy but demure. Plus I got a new pair of dark gray fake snakeskin pumps to go with it. Very nice look, retro, sexy but not flashy. Love it. I plan to wear it for Easter with a big, Audrey Hepburn-ish black hat I have.
-
WOW--Easter! It actually WILL get warm again! Hard to imagine when we woke up to -28......
Today's "ensembles" all sound like they are straight out of LLBean!!! Whatcha gonna do? Maybe try for the cover of Mid-West Outdoors Women's Daily???? LOLOL
-
I looked at the Yahoo links for best and worst dressed of the GG and couldn't really see the difference. I decided that the reviewers were just being paid by certain designers to say their stuff was gorgeous (and some of it was really gaggy) and the other girl's was hideous (and I thought some of it was classy)... what can you say?
16 below this morning and I LOVE my fleece lined Merrill clogs!
-
Gosh, I feel so bad ...... it was over 80º and I had to take off my sweater outside it was so hot. But good news is I wore a bright green short sleeved knit top with a v-neck but it had strings going across the v part ...... And just so you don't think I am bragging about our heat .. I did get chilly in the lunch room with the air conditioning running full blast. Really I did.
-
Rock: stuff it! It has zoomed up to 5 here; when Misty the Lab and I delivered the neighbors' papers to their doors at 5:30, it was 1~~~downright balmy for saint and doodles!!! It was so cold it woke me up~~~and NOW I'm going to bed.......for awhile. I can wear the new Nick & Nora flannels I got for Christmas~~~with cupcakes on them.
Usually I get too hot, courtesy of Arimidex.
-
It's a cold gray morning. It got down to minus 0 last night (actually, minus zero point 2). This has to be the coldest winter on record for me. Snow and snow and snow, I think we're going into a mini-Ice Age. Either that, or the North Pole is relocating further south. And I am gaining weight for lack of exercise....ARGGHH!Today is a Big Day for me and I have very little time to waste!!!! I have two fittings today, yes, I said two. I have a new model who's going to be in the Runway show and I am going to design a second dress. And this one is a little harder, since I have very few scraps left over...I had to go to Joann's last night and buy some fabric. Don't know how this dress is going to be 70% recycled unless she's wearing a real mini-skirt!!! Eek!!! Couldn't sleep last night!Gina's dress is done; she's coming at one. Model 2 is coming at 11 am, she's georgeous...36-24-34, and a real Keira Knightley type... I haven't told Gina about Model 2 yet!!!I'll post some pix later.Linora
-
KK, thanx for that post...pretty dress!!! I am really into plaid. You know, I made a dress last winter in the exact same plaid. Same colors, same weave, except on a slightly large scale. Very different dress design...Now, I've got to back to that sewing machine!!!
