Vivre, don't you think people are too smart to fall for the "racist" bull crap with this appointment.  If not, then Chicago is truly stupid!  At least the guy doesn't look 71.  I hear he ran for governor three times and lost all three times.  This governor of yours is something else.  He's not too smart.  I hope Fitz has enough stuff to put him away.  We've had people have affairs that stepped down.  And this guy says he's done nothing illegal...if not illegal then unethical!  But I think Fitz has junk on him that even Blago doesn't know about.  HAHAHAHA!

Oh come on Shirley, post your skinny pics ....

I am working off the pounds and my hair is more to my liking now ... I'm getting my old self back, little by little!  Thanks for the compliments, though, I'll take them whenever I can get them.

Today was kinda sad -- I went to a meeting at work.  We used to have at our weekly meetings 20 managers and our big meetings about 30 mgrs... I was the only woman 6 years ago, we have had a few come in and out and now we have only one other besides me.  Today at the meeting there were maybe 9 of us ... the other 5 managers we have in our company were either off or at the store sites.  Our business is so down but our owner told us that he is in for the long haul.  Repeated his committments to us and let us off early today.  I was the only girl there, so all the hugs and kisses were for me!  Thankfully, Moody was not there!!! In the end, it was a good day and I'm getting a new contract (retro!) so I can sleep and pay bills!!!  Yeah!!!

Rocktobermom, great New Years news!  That must take some of the weight off those little shoulders.

I know you will not believe this, BUT...even after three children I was skinny.  I never gained loads of weight..we were only "allowed" to gain 20 lbs (in the olden days)...I gained 22.  Anyway, I couldn't keep the weight on BACK THEN!  I was a bit too skinny..CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?  I told you you wouldn't.  Musta been my metabolism.

I'm gonna hire a personal trainer.  Her name is Moody.  Laughing  And I'm also hiring a nutritionist that even cooks for me.  Her name is Linda.

But tonight we're having pizza.  Surprised

Maybe we all need to go together to "glamour shots" so we can get an avatar like moody's!

Shirley, Don't you understand why the Ill gov acts like he does, as if he did nothing wrong? Well, it is because he does not think he did because he was acting just like all the other Ilinois pols. They all pay to play, but never get into trouble because they have always protected each other. Rats don't turn on rats until they run out of cheese. Well, Blago would not be the puppet he was told to be, so they turned on him. I just hope he takes the whole crowd with him back to the sewers.

Shirley, I will be glad to cook for you, when you come to boot camp with me and moody.

Happy New Year to you ALL!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR, RESPECTFUL REPUBLICANS!!

We celebrated with a friend who does a lovely dinner party each New Year's, with some guests that we see only this night! I usually generate a word find puzzle and give a prize to the one who finds the most words~~~their attention spans aren't too long, so they don't find that many! In deference to my Democrat pal, I used a lot of relevant words like Columbia and Malia and change and hope~~~but they were all puzzled by "repugs"!!!!Wink

What happened to my ugly, freaking picture!  I'm doing it again because I want to make sure all of you gorgeous YOUNG women know what a grandma I am!  I'm COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET!  I need to remember that prayer too...except I can change one thing...my weight if I tried very hard.  I hear it's hard when one takes Arimidex or HTs.  Tongue out  'Course I really haven't tried so what do I know?

About a year ago my darling granddaugter (who is now six) said, Mimi, are you old?  I answered, Yes.  My dd said to my dgd, Hannah, you don't ask questions like that.  I said, Why not?  I always thought my grandma was old.  Boy, kids are honest!  But I told her that in reality one is only old when they REACH 90!

AH HA!  I know what happened to the ugly picture.  I went to photobucket and successfully changed the size and it disappeared cuz I deleted the full size one.  However, I couldn't tell it had been resized until I just reposted it.  When whomever said my pic was gone it was still up for me to see.  I thought, what is she talking about.  Anyway, no need to go back and look at the smaller version.

Everytime I see Marie Osmond talking about Nutrisystem I want to try it.  No, Linda, I'm not.  But, Marie not only ate that food..she also danced herself into a fainting spell!  So, exercise definitley helped her lose the weight.  Plus she's younger and not on meds that make you fatter....I HAVE TO HAVE SOME EXCUSES!  Yell

There are so many people hurting financially.  I just heard about this group from a friend of mine that met a woman who uses this program.  There's nothing to fill out.  They say even doctors and lawyers come here.  Of course there could be people buying things from this ministry to help feed someone they know.  I'll be posting this on the board, but wanted to share with you first.  When visiting their site there are different packages you can buy.

This is a clip from YouTube.  I think there's others there too.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9A5zsMRVRU&eurl=http://www.angelfoodministries.com/

    This is their website.

    http://www.angelfoodministries.com/

I think this is great.  If you know anyone who needs help direct them to this site and see if they serve their area.  Or if they do not have a computer you could do it for them.  I'm sure they're expecting a lot more people signing on this year with the econmy in a mess and so many job losses.

Shirley, You are not talking to yourself. We are listening, and enjoying your wonderful sense of humor as usual. If it is any consolation, I am very jealous that you are a grandma. My confirmed bachelors have informed me that they have no plans in that area. Since they seem to keep gilrfriends for only a few weeks, this is a good thing. I would not wish them on any young women right now!

    How about some resolutions?

    I am making a few:

I resolve to take a long walk on Jan. 20th, not listen to any news, and enjoy the day.

I resolve to not refer to obama as president until he can prove to me that he is a true American and legally has a right to the office.

I resolve to not say "I told you so" to all my dimwit relatives who drank the Koolaid, when his true colors finally becoming apparent.

I resolve to continue to annoy everyone, especially Shirley, by preaching about the benefits of a healthy diet and exercise.

I resolve to do a lot of laughing. This will be very easy since I have a feeling the dems in Illinois will be telling a lot of funny stories.

I resolve to continue to pray for all my sisters who are still fighting this fight, that they will all have a happy and healthy New Year.

Thanks you two for making me laugh.  IBC, you got that right when you said CRAZY!  You "read" people well.

Ah, sweet Vivre, you will not annoy me with preaching about eating healthy or exercising.  I do that everyday to myself.  And guess what kind of recipes I'm looking at right now....MEXICAN!  Of course you CAN make Mexican recipes healthy if you don't use all that sour cream, cheese, but then what's left?

We ate at our dd's and boyfriends house over the holidays.  I met his parents.  His stepdad is from Mexico, but has been in the states since the late 40s.  The man is almost 81 years old and looks maybe 70.  Very active man and good looking.  He cooked us authenic Mexican food.  I loved it.  I told him I'm from San Antonio and I used to get that kind of REAL Mexican food.  But I was good and didn't eat too much.

As far as grandchildren...I PRODUCED three daughters.  You'd think I'd have a boatload of grandkids..but NO!  I don't think there's anymore coming down the pipe.  My oldest dd who is not yet married BUT does have this boyfriend who acts like he loves her dearly and already has two kids and two ex-wives and doesn't want any kids and I don't think my 39 yo dd does either (was that a long enough sentence?), plus the other dd who she and her dh are too busy thinking of fun things to do OTHER THAN having kids........so, my favorite dd has my two dear grandbabies.  She reminds me ALL THE TIME that she's the fav..plus she voted for McCain...LOL

As you can see, IBC, I've been using my great mind has been "musing."  Laughing

Oh, Vivre, I love your New Year's resolutions. Wink  $!

I am SURE George Bush caused my bc. After all he caused a sunami, major hurricanes, managed to conspire to blow up the twin towers, so a little thing like cancer should be easy for him to do. His miracles will probably continue. Any disaster that befalls us in the next fifty years will still be his fault. Meanwhile, if 100 years from now, they finally discover a cure it will be because Obama was the ONE who did it because he told us he would.

The only thing that I can figure out that is healthy with mexican food, is a burrito with lots of lettuce and tomato, no shell, or sour cream, or that awful ranch dressing. But I never feel guilty about the avocado. Lots of omega 3's. They may be high in calories, but they are good calories. Just skip the chips!

Shirley, I was going to suggest we pair up one of my sons and your adventuous daughter, but he already has a girl in several ports, and I do not think he needs another one.

    Vivre:

Proud to say that I had a cocktail last night, no overindulging, watching that alcohol since I am er/pr+++ and woke up bright eyed, fixed steel cut oatmeal, natural brown sugar, and a tbs of natural peanut butter with all the oil poured out of the jar!  I am sitting here at work, all full up, no cravings.  This oatmeal kick my gf started me on is such a great idea.  Since it takes time to make the steel cut oatmeal, I made 3 days worth.

But, I found out that I can just heat up the water at night, pour in the oatmeal and leave it.  By morning, it will be perfect .. the oats will have absorbed the water.  I can also use my rice cooker I think to make the oatmeal if I need to do it same day, I am thinking, that way no worries of burning or boil overs.

NBC did a commentary on what will be missed with the bringing in of 2009 and of course, they featured comics and it was all aimed at Palin and Bush.  NBC can't seem to stay unbiased.

I got bc from George Bush, too. I probably gained weight because of him, too.  Probably, everyone with cancer, weight problems and financial woes can blame it all on Bush.
