    Amazing site! Thank you so much for the thread. It validates all that I have been working through. I had Googled for pictures before, but saw pretty horrendous ones. I even saw a site that the ladies tatooed thier scars! The site you sent me to showed some very nice scars. It gave me peace to know it can look that good. I was going to ask my surgeon for smiley faces.... :_)

    After my hysterectomy when I went back to the surgeon I "complained" that my scar wasn't very straight. He answered, "Hey, I went to medical school, not art school!"

    I had uni-lat mast.  I bought the prosthesis, mast bra, etc., and have worn it maybe once.  What I wear most of the time is a Victoria's Secret Ipex Cami (no underwire).  It gives me a little shape under my t-shirts and blouses. 

    I also have the Land's End swimsuit tankini and I do wear a "swim form" with that.  It's light weight and if a wear a "cup" on the other side, I think I match pretty well.  I'm small to start with (large A, small B). 

    I like the v-neck tees at Eddie Bauer.  They're pretty high and if I have to bend over and someone wants to look - good for them!  I don't really care.

    I just went on the VS website and the camis are on sale right now.

    You might want to check out the Sierra Trading Post website. Search for Calida camisole and also for cotton camisole.

    If you're looking for camisoles that don't plunge, the one I particularly like is called Calida Feminin--an all cotton ribknit, made in Switzerland. It has a pretty lacework insert almost straight across the top of a high front--and is on sale for $8.96 but only available in size 18. The fit is described as "trim" so it may work for size 16 as well. I ordered 3 of them in advance of my bilateral mastectomy, scheduled for December 9.

    From Expand-a-Band (www.breastbinders.com) I bought 2 breast binders and 2 double compression breast bands, which at positioned above the breasts, to hold implants in place. They have them in several colors, and in lacy as well as plain. No reason they couldn't be used to hold a camisole close to your body, though!

     There are other camisole styles in smaller sizes by Calida and other manufacturers. Sierra Trading Post's shipping is reasonable, too. If you sign up for their email list, you'll get discounted offers a few times a week.

    The Breastless.org website has a link to a designer who has interesting clothes that don't rely on scarves. That may give you ideas, too.

    Hey all,

     I haven't read all the replies to this thread, but i can relate to this BIG TIME!  With a bilateral mastectomy without reconstruction, talk about missing cleavage.  Clothing is limited and the worst part is evening wear.  Anyhow, just wanted to add my 2 cents.... i found a great camisole ate banana republic, it is a cotton layering camisole and it is pretty high under the arm  and high in front... it hugs the body really well but is not tight.  it is VERY COMFORTABLE and thin.  you could wear it under anything... especially when you're worried that bending over your top might create that gap and your bra and prosthesis may show.  anyways LAYERING CAMI FROM BANANA.. wish i bought it in every color.. hey i think i might!
