So what does everyone think of Lieberman? I would love to see him align with the Repubs, he is so much better than the dems, don't you just love their juvinile stance on "punishing Joe"...what a joke...when do these people come off of their power trip?

I love the way people refer to President Bush with name calling then come over here and say they don't do it but get p***** off when people over here say something about president elect Pelosi's sidekick.

So Im driving home last night and Im listening to Sean Hannity and some nut calls in and during his conversation actually says he things BO is Abe Lincoln reincarnated.  Now normally hearing this, I would say, oh the guy was just talking to stir things up.  If you heard the conversation and how it went down, you would have laughed to.

My daughter was in the car and she was like "mom, this guy really thinks Obama is Abe Lincoln!"

    And they call republicans crazy!

Okay, not that we didnt already know this:

An exhaustive, eight-year Media Research Center study of the Big Three TV networks' coverage of Barack Obama shows that their favorable spin on the Democrat gave him his margin of victory in the primaries, according to MRC president Brent Bozell.

"Barack Obama had a crucial advantage over his rivals this year: the support of the national media, especially the three broadcast networks," an MRC report on the study states.

"At every step of his national political career, network reporters showered the Illinois Senator with glowing media coverage, building him up as a political celebrity and exhibiting little interest in investigating his past associations or exploring the controversies that could have threatened his campaign."

The Alexandria, Va.-based MRC logged every story, sound bite, and mention of Obama on ABC, CBS and NBC evening news telecasts from his first appearance on a network broadcast in May 2000 through the end of the Democratic primaries this past June - a total of 1,365 stories.

    Among the key findings:

The three broadcast networks ran 462 positive stories about Obama - 34 percent of the total - compared with only 70 stories (5 percent) that were critical.

NBC Nightly News was the most lopsided, with 179 pro-Obama reports, more than 10 times the number of anti-Obama stories, 17. The CBS Evening News ran 156 stories in favor of Obama, compared to just 21 anti-Obama reports. ABC's World News was the least slanted, but still tilted roughly four-to-one in Obama's favor - 127 positive stories to 32 negative reports.

Barack Obama received his best press "when it mattered most, as he debuted on the national scene," the MRC report observed. All three networks lavished him with praise when he was the keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic Convention, and did not produce a single negative story about Obama prior to the start of his presidential campaign in early 2007.

Obama's relationship with convicted influence peddler Tony Rezko was the subject of only two full network reports, one each on ABC and NBC, and was mentioned in just 15 other stories. Also, CBS and NBC initially downplayed controversial statements from Obama's long-time pastor Jeremiah Wright.

Obama's best press of this year came after he won the North Carolina primary on May 6. After that, 43 percent of stories were favorable to Obama, compared to just 1 percent that were critical.

The networks referred to Obama as a "liberal" only 14 times in four years, while on twice as many occasions reporters referred to him as either a "rock star," "rising star," or "superstar" during the same period.

Of 147 average citizens who expressed an on-camera opinion about Obama, 114 were pro-Obama, compared to just 28 that offered a negative opinion, with the remaining five offering a mixed opinion.

Brent Bozell said in a statement: "This study proves emphatically and without question that the Big Three networks had a horse in this year's Democratic primary race. And that with their wall-to-wall, 24-hour daily assistance, NBC, ABC and CBS provided Sen. Barack Obama's margin of victory."

I know, your in as a big a shock as I am.........who'da thunk.....

One more "Hot Topic"  and more liberal hate...................

"Lib Radio Host Karel Calls For Joe Wurzelbacher's Death In On-Air Obscenity Laced Tirade

Brian Maloney who picked up this on-air obscenity laced diatribe from San Francisco KGO radio host Karel, who called for the "death" of Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, AKA "Joe the Plumber."

"F__G__D__Joe the G__D__M__F__plumber! I want M__F Joe the plumber dead."

Maloney notes some interesting background information on the San Francisco radio host:

Karel, also known as Charles Karel Bouley, is an evening and weekend host at KGO radio in San Francisco.

Based in Los Angeles, Karel is a gay activist who also writes for the Huffington Post website.

This latest incident caps a weekend of unhinged behavior by Obama's supporters, including a call for the death of Mormons campaigning on behalf of Proposition 8 in California and the push for an investigation into the "leak" that Obama's aunt was an illegal alien facing deportation.

Don't expect the mainstream media to tell Barack Obama to reign in his supporters, as they still are looking for the imaginary McCain supporter who yelled out "terrorist" to Obama's name at a McCain rally. "

You can listen here: Eyeblast.tv published the clip in question a day after it aired. Listen to it and decide for yourselves whether the station made the right call in firing Karel.

It took the station 10 days to decide to do something about it!  Now if ANY radio host called for the death of Obama, he/she would be IN JAIL for making "terrorist threats" or "conspiracy to commit murder"

One more piece of "interesting .........."  and then I'm off to work!

2006 NY Daily News Podcast Interview With Rahm Emanuel On Compulsory Service Plan, Will Media Ignore Again?

"As a follow up to the media blowing off President-elect Barack Obama's conscription plan(which seems to be disappearing from the Obama transition team's site among many other agenda items, as Newsbuster Tom Blumer has discovered), Naked Emperor News has found some interesting audio of Rahm Emanuel, Obama's Chief of Staff appointee, talking to NY Daily News reporter Ben Smith in 2006 about his mandatory civil service plan.

EMANUEL:  Universal civil defense training...I think he had it at 18, but we were saying  somewhere between the ages of 18 to 25, you will do three months of training.  You can do it in your(inaudible).  Some point in college you can do just that. There can be nothing wrong with all Americans having a joint similar experience of civil ...what we call civil defense training or civil service...some sense of service to country in preparation, which will give people a sense of what it means to be an American.  We propose three months.  At the end of the day someone says it should be four more.  I'm not going to sit here and hold it up.

there will be a body of citizens who are ready and capable and trained.  That's all you have to think about."

That term "universal" sure is common amoung the dems isnt it?

I don't think the media should be so biased ... I think they should have to do "fair" reporting ... I am not saying they should hide negative things they find:  I mean if they found out that a candidate was a member of dishonorable or disgusting organization .. that should be reported.  But to glorify one candidate and praise him so much was not fair. And SNL really campaigned for Obama.  It's too bad the Republcans weren't as savvy and gotten some media outlets on their side ... especially the younger voters.  A lot of young people don't watch politico shows on Sunday morning or offbeat channels.

Yeah, but what did they say about the top 5%?  I don't have to worry about it, but I'm just curious.  Who is middle income?  those who make under $150,000, $200,000 or $250,000?

LuAnn, I should have put the word campaign in quotes....SNL's skits were soooo biased against Palen. How many episodes ridiculed Obama?

The election's over ... I just wish the hate and venom about Palen would stop ... they WON so why try to rub it in people's face? Do Dems really think that Republicans are going to say ''oh we were so dumb?'' It's about ideology ... less government, less taxes ... The 2 will never agree on most things.

By constantly having those skits about Palin it made her look stupid.  She's not stupid.  I laughed because I could see the humor, but others laughed AT HER.  She'll be back!  And I'm afraid that the dems are afraid of that.

I have a friend who has lost so much.  Her dh won't let her pull out.  And, they're retirement age..He's 65.  He doesn't have time to make up the loss.  And it may get worse.

Today the dow had almost 600 points.  And that was after President Bush spoke. Now, I don't know if that's why, but it was down prior to him speaking.  He believes in a free market he says.  However, he did what he did (bailout) because of what's going on.  We'll see what tomorrow brings.

I'm going to stand in land at Congress's door and ask for about $100,000.  Heck, that's nothing compared to what the cities, auto industry, whomever else is asking.  Think I'll get it?  HAHA!

She hurt herself by going on the show, she acted really stupid on the show.  I cracked up and found it hilarious.  McCain and his wife went on too.  I am just not sure SNL is where you want to go for good media attention when in a campaign.  They would have done better interviewing with political journalists that going on SNL.  As for Obama skits I am sure they are coming, there is never a president they don't make fun of on that show.  Kind of funny watching them tease anyone on there.  Although I don't take SNL as what the person is really like but Palin kind of did herself in the way she answered questions.

All her current media attention and her wanting to run in 2012, not sure that will go anywhere.

LuAnn, it's not only about SNL.  Remember how many people were sent to Alaska to "investigate" Palin and found NOTHING.  When Greta Van Susteren was there she could not fine even ONE person who disliked her.  Greta is a democrat.  She supported Hillary...then Obama won.  I know her dh supported Hillary..he said so.  Then he turned his support to McCain.

Greta has been making a point...even though Greta didn't agree to all of Palin's policies she thinks she's been given the shaft.  She thinks she has been treated horribly by the press.  She thinks the same thing about Hillary.  She said she has spent time with Palin and she's an intellegent, well-spoken woman.

So, we have difference of opinions about Palin.  And I see the crowd over ther is still beating the crap out of her.  She'll show everyone..wait and see. Pelose, Reid and Barney scare the dickens out of me.

And, I do respect President Bush.  He has been gracious to the Obamas.  He wants the transition to go smoothly for the sake of this nation.

I shouldn't go over there to read.  However, when I do I am insulted.  I am a woman who is not dumb.  Some who have more education than myself have less common sense.  And, I won't mention one person's name over there because I do believe she was referring to me when she said she wouldn't mention names.  I find that kind of person insensitive and I will NEVER have one lick of respect for her...EVER.  I won't give her the time of day.  I consider her to be a troublemaker.  When you tired to make "nice" she tried to stir up trouble by saying..Hell, I can't remember.  I'd have to go back pages to find it and I'm not doing that.

Now, someone needs to let Blaest know that there is a new rule...no more than 5 postings in one 24 hour period.  I don't know the length of days that has to be.  However, I did get a PM from someone asking me about that.  The person who asked had no trouble getting the approval from the mods because that person wasn't harrassing the heck out of the women on this board.  Balest may have come here for good reasons in the beginning, but not now.  He thinks he's above the rules..NOPE!  I for one will ignore every word he says from now on.

Yes, sitting presidents are made fun of but they weren't making fun of Obama the candidate and there were plenty of scandals to chose from. SNL tried to make it seem that a person would have t be an idiot to vote McCain ....

SP seems to be well liked at her govenor summit.

Bet ya'll were wondering where I was tonight huh!?!  (or NOT)

I loved all the SNL skits and thought they were hysterical except for two.  The one with Palin on it was a let down because they wouldnt give her any lines and the way Tina Fey refused to appear WITH her because she "can't stand that woman" was childish.  Then the scene where the prego lady was "rapping" about alaska was (I thought) beyond "poking fun" it was insulting regarding the people in Alaska and done in poor taste.

The other episode I didnt like was the one after the last debate and they went overboard (in my opinion) to make McCain look  delusional, while they had "light hearted humor" with Obama's character.

However, I thought the one with the "crazy old lady" was a riot------right up until they KEPT having her face the camera with her "McCain/Palin" shirt on over, and over indicating that those are the type people that support them.

But I LOVED the one with McCain on there.  It was obvious they were making up for when Palin was on.

Chevy Chase, the shows producer, told reporters that he was a democrat and would use his show to "promote" that party.

So, other than those few "skits" I thought it was basically even with the "poke fun" and non-offensive.

I listen to some of President Bush's speech today and while he was speaking the stock market started rising after being down.  Now, could that be a coincidence or what?  It went up to over 500 points.  He talked about a free market, etc.  We'll see what happens tomorrow.

And you know what else?  I've been thinking about Paulette's articles she's posted.  How some in Europe need to follow our lead as far as minorities in high offices.

Well, we do lead the world.  We are the greatest nation if I say so myself.  It's time for people to stand up and defend our country and stop whining about it and showing their arses.  There are countries who have never liked us.  And, I think people should defend our president instead of laugh along with other people in other countries who hate him.  You never know..these same countries can hate Obama too.

I was watching H&C tonight.  I thought this was funny...... Obama administration questions possible appointees about their 'associations' that might create embarrassment for the administration.  Also, they also ask if spouses has anything that could create embarrassment.  I believe one of the questions also was what organizations had they belonged to. The gall!  The One who had several "associations" and no one cared.  Hypocrisy?
