MB - Got your box today. Thanks kiddo. I mailed an afghan the other day. Hmmm did I take a pic? Not sure. I'll have to check. Anyway, I'll be working on another this weekend.
Sue - you can send them to MB to border or you can send them to me.
Donna - same for you hon. I can always forward any to MB if needed. She is helping so much by bordering these for us.
Thanks again to everyone for all their help!

Hi Everyone,
Just talked to my DIL's Mom, Grace Cooper. She received one of the hugaghans last week.
Grace wanted me to tell everyone "thank you. That I have the afghan next to me and I can't tell you enough what it meant to receive it. I want everyone to know how much the prayers and the kindness of others has meant to me."
For those that might not know or remember, Grace has ovarian cancer and it has spread throughtout her abdomen and is in her colon. She has her first chemo treatment tomorrow and is scared. She continues to loose weight and is in pain. She is on Morphine and Vicodin. She is a Stage IIIC
Personally, I want to thank each of you too for taking part in giving others a hug and walking with them in their cancer journey and for your prayers as Grace starts her chemo journey.
Hugs, blessings and thanks to all, Brenda
-
Brenda, sorry to hear that your DIL's mother is sick. I am glad she got a hug before chemo started. I know many of us will be praying for her. I need to go get some more yarn for squares. I am saving the big skeins for some other projects and doing a couple more hats now that winter is upon us.
-
Brenda, Happy to hear that your DIL's mom recieved her Hugs in time for her treatment. I hope it will comfort her, and let her feel how many people are praying for her.
-
Well bc sisters you have outdone yourselves. I received my beautiful afghan. I feel honored to have gotten one. I got on the phone soon as I got it and told family and friends about it. All who have seen it love it. Receiving this lifted my spirits since I have been under the weather. The love it was made with I can feel and am so touched by the love of you all. Each one of you are a gift a real blessing. Thank you my dear sisters. God bless you all and may he heal all who battle this disease.

I was in the hosp past 3 weeks. of course I had my huggafan with me. One of teh church ladies groups makes pillows about 1/8th the regular size of a standard pillow. She gave me one- perfect for neck and mastectomy under arms. So naturally I had to explain to her the huggafan and they told 2 people and they told 4 people etc. I have the feeling the afghan has spread just a little more. Thank you all again. every time i look at it, seems like yesterday that I just got it . (was Jan of this year) all the love and prayers must be working as the lung mets are shrinking. Started a new chemo about the same time I GOT THE huggafan.

The green and purple squares look like chrysanthemums -- Gorgeous!!!!
-
Oh my GOODNESS!
I hadn't ordered anything. . . There was a return address in OK I didn't recognize. But indeed it was addressed to me. I opened it and began to sob. I had NO idea you all were planning to share yourselves with me. The hours and hours (and hours!) of heart-to-hands that this represents is flabbergasting. What a powerful statement of love and encouragement you have sent to me!
You women have got to be the most generous, giving, thoughtful, compassionate group in all the WORLD!
I NEVER expected to hear a 'ka-lumph' of a box on my front porch this afternoon. I was in the office filling out medical forms, so welcomed the break to go investigate.
The colors are vibrant, the stitching extraordinary, the patterns beautifully varied...
:::sigh:::
It's just the most beautiful gift I have ever been blessed to receive. See for yourself, it's the second hugaghan in the post above, dated 11/13/08.
The community of caring women, who have sent out 100 hand-crafted gifts such as mine, is an incredible phenomenon - the personal time invested, the individual care of a woman I don't even know bent over her needlework, the co-ordination, the gathering, the constructing, the finishing, the packaging, the mailing - it is mind-boggling.
And it is such a comfort.
I feel I have so many sisters coming with me for my stay for SRS (radiation) in Los Angeles after Thanksgiving. You will literally surround me with your support and love.
Thank you, from the bottom of a very grateful heart ~
Lisa -
Lisa, wrap yourself in our hugs. We will always be here for you.
