A little story for anyone who might be reading these posts:

When I first saw the Obama thread (about a month ago) silly me thought I would join in their posts and try to use some facts to get them thinking, maybe even motivate them to do some research on their own about their candidate.

Well you can imagine how well that went over.  I learned my lesson with the VERY FIRST POST.  And when they insulted me and blasted me, I decided that I would never post there again (duh)

So, I was thinking if someone feels insulted and says that the people on this post are "pathetic", why would they continue to post here.

I came up with a few logical reasons.

    1)They have no life (LOL- I know, neither do I);

    2)They like to see if they can get a negative reaction, so they can cry "foul" when they do (like munchausen syndrome);

    3)They hate people who are happy;

    4)THEY HAVE NO LIFE

Shirley...I just post the Europe needs to take a look at themselves posts because of all the former crapola from the few who "knew because they lived there" that Europe was so far ahead of us! It's just my way of rubbing it in...I know I probably shouldn't do it but sometimes you just have to gloat! And it has little to do with the current election it is just that it was always there in Europe but "the few" refused to call it! I lived outside of the country for 12 years and people are people no matter where you go!

Sherri, interesting hypothesis on the new Pres! And I bet actually knowing vs. going by your own perspective and the perspective of "advisers" is sobering.

Okay, regardless of my "uneasiness" with Obama, when I saw him and his wife at the white house with the Bush's, I did get a sense of pride with what it truly symbolized.

Let's face it, 50 years ago, he wouldn't have even gotten in the senate because of his race.  So the fact that so many people of other races, nationality, etc. didn't let his race stop them from voting for someone they believed in was quite touching.

I just don't happen to believe in him.  I pray that he proves me wrong.

I wonder why Obama is in such a hurry for Bush to bail out the auto industry???

One reason might be so that if it doesnt work out, then he doesnt have to take the blame for it.  He can keep riding the "it was all Bush's fault" horse.

I have to explain Moody why I choose to express an opinion here? . Wow.  I really thought you were better than that, better than many of the people here.  I suppose I had you pegged wrong..  As for the pathetic ones, I am talking about those who whine and complain to the moderators, not the people who insult me.  I am amused by the "meanness" of such people, but not upset by them.  The whiners though remind me of my kids who whine to us about what their sisters or brothers did, trying to get them in trouble.  It is pathetic to do so and the people who do so are pathetic.

The Federal Election Commission is unlikely to conduct a potentially embarrassing audit of how Barack Obama raised and spent his presidential campaign's record-shattering windfall, despite allegations of questionable donations and accounting that had the McCain campaign crying foul.

Obama is expected to escape that level of scrutiny mostly because he declined an $84 million public grant for his campaign that automatically triggers an audit and because the sheer volume of cash he raised and spent minimizes the significance of his errors.  The FEC is hesitant to audit a "sitting president".

McCain, on the other hand, accepted the $84 million in taxpayer money, which not only barred him from raising or spending more - allowing Obama to fund many times more ads and ground operations - but also will keep his lawyers busy for a couple years explaining how every penny was spent.  The FEC is obligated to complete a rigorous audit of McCain's campaign coffers, which will take months, if not years, and cost McCain millions of dollars to defend.

Obama - the first presidential candidate to decline public funding in the general election - admitted it initially mis-categorized the purpose of an $832,598 payment for get-out-the-vote efforts to a consulting firm affiliated with ACORN, the community organizing group that became a top target for Republicans alleging voter fraud.

And FEC analysts over the course of the campaign have written more than a dozen letters to Obama singling out hundreds of contributors for whom the campaign either didn't supply adequate information or from whom he accepted donations exceeding the $4,600 limit.

But the media seized on the FEC letters to Obama, singling out donations from apparently fictitious donors as well as from foreign addresses - which are permitted as long as the donors are U.S. citizens. Allegations that the Obama campaign was willfully allowing excessive and foreign donations prompted the Republican National Committee to file an FEC complaint.

Obama's reversal on a pledge to accept public financing if his Republican opponent agreed to do the same, as well as his campaign's refusal to voluntarily release the names, addresses and employers of donors who gave less than $200 each - a group that accounted for about half of the more than $600 million that the campaign had raised through the end of September - the RNC asked the FEC "to immediately conduct a full audit" of all of Obama's contributions.

And ironically, the historic volume of Obama's small contributions, which may have made it tough for the campaign to weed out problem donations, may also help spare Obama an audit.

More serious and systemic problems, such as illegal contributions, result in campaigns getting tagged with more "audit points," Mason explained. "If you get enough audit points, you get audited," he said, adding "nobody outside the commission would know how many audit points the Obama campaign has."

Mary Brandenberger, an FEC spokeswoman, declined to comment on the likelihood of an Obama audit. But she explained that if campaigns adequately answer the agency's requests for information, it's less likely they'll be recommended for an audit.

Just what we need, government telling us what we can and can't listen to:

"Today, many Democrats in Congress have said the Fairness Doctrine should be re-imposed to counter the influence of conservative talk radio, which dominates the marketplace with shows hosted by people such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Neal Boortz and Mark Levin."

"Although Cardin said Congress must be cautious with the Fairness Doctrine and not infringe on First Amendment rights, he also said the government does have a responsibility to ensure that content is balanced."

    http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=39160

Are you freaking kidding me?  Since when is it the "governments" responsibility to make sure our radio programs are "fair and balanced"?????

The government CERTAINLY didn't make sure the main stream media was "fair and balanced"!!!!!

Paulette, I absolutely understood why you were posting those articles.  There's been a lot of people saying they'd move out of this country if McCain had won.  Heck, even movie stars said if Bush were re-elected they were moving....never happened.  This country is to great to leave.

Perhaps we will set an example for the rest of the world who so hates/hated us.  LOL

Oh, Moody, you're baby is so cute.  The dress is cute.  I swear she looks like Tasha...you know...the Poms tilt their heads a certain way.  Did she ever walk on her hind legs for you when she was younger.  We used to give Tasha treats when she danced for us.  Your baby has the same markings of Tasha. They look so much alike except Tasha was a little bigger.

    Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Moody, now that there Fairness Doctrine Act is the mostest UNFAIRNESS ACT I know of!  Well, one of them.  The dems are scared of the conservative talk show hosts.  THEY TELL THE TRUTH!  This infuriates me and we better NOT let this happen.  I do not listen to the radio, but that doesn't mean I'm in favor of this.  I'm getting steamed!  Yell

If the libs could get enough listeners they'd leave this alone.

Oh, I saw Glenn Beck on Fox today.  Is he moving over to Fox?  Does anyone know.  I just caught him saying he couldn't wait and that this was the second or third time he had been there.

This is for Blaest or anyone else who think we only post "mean" things or are the only ones who are not open-minded, or numerous other reasons.  The Obama thread DID NOT want anyone posting over there who did now share their view and LOVE and ADORATION of THE ONE.  So, if you're interested whomever you may be here's just a sample...and there's plenty more.

Joe was on TV this morning.  He's very angry that the media et al has held his feet to the fire, but they aren't holding Obama's feet to the fire and HE'S GONNA BE OUR PRESIDENT!  My dh couldn't have passed his security clearance when he did a TS job while in the Air Force.  The FBI knocked on plenty of doors checking out his friends, etc.  If he had had relationships that were questionable like Obama does he would never have passed the clearance.

Tito..Tito has a very small contract business.  Do you want to see the video taling about it.  Go the our thread and you'll see where I posted it.  He wants his company to grow.  He doesn't want "crumbs" thrown at him...he says..from Obama.  Tito is an immigrant as I've already informed you.  He was janitor.

Joe didn't know he was supposed to be at that rally with McCain.  But he was there for the next stop.  He has more common sense than most.

I think that you making fun of these people is horrible.  They are not plants.  You can't stand ordinary people standing up for McCain.

Oh people, it is getting worse.  Now this is not to say this could happen here in this country where we are democratic and not socialist or even communist.

    Take a look at this:

"Testifying for the House Committee on Education and Labor, Ghilarducci proposed that the government eliminate tax breaks for 401(k) and similar retirement accounts, such as IRAs, and confiscate workers' retirement plan accounts and convert them to universal Guaranteed Retirement Accounts (GRAs) managed by the Social Security Administration.

Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., chairman of the House Committee on Education and Labor, in prepared remarks for the hearing on "The Impact of the Financial Crisis on Workers' Retirement Security," blamed Wall Street for the financial crisis and said his committee will "strengthen and protect Americans' 401(k)s, pensions, and other retirement plans" and the "Democratic Congress will continue to conduct this much-needed oversight on behalf of the American people."

Read her whole proposal at the link below:

    http://www.sharedprosperity.org/bp204.html

Again, I cant see how it would get passed, the point is why are more and more people determined to "share the wealth" and want government control of us????????

I just dont get it and I certainly do get how she is even allowed to present this b.s. before the House??????

Am I the only optimistic Republican here Cool

It looks like Obama is studying Clinton playbook and is seeing that Clinton was leaning too much to the left and was punished for it by getting Republican house after 2 years.

Notice that he does not talk much about raising taxes anymore. he actually refused to commit himself to it when asked directly.

As far as 40K goes, there are a lot of proposals today. And having an option of having a defined benefit instead of 401K may appeal to a lot of people who don't want to be bothered with 401K where they need to watch their allocations , etc. As I heard this that was an optional conversion not a mandatory one.

And let me be honest here we in Republican party got what iwe deserved, if the best candidate we  could come up with was McCain. I hope that just like democrats that were reeling from 2004 defeat were able to re-invent themselves. Republican Party will do the same.

Okay ladies, remember some of the posts from 07rescue and her implications of Obama and corrupt chicago?  Well, again beings business is SLOWWWWWW, and I have all this time on my hands I have been digging around.

So take a look at this:

    "

It's a matter of record that Obama went to bat for Giannoulias even though the 29 year old had ZERO experience. Soon after Obama got some "support" from the family's bank, Broadway bank. >>Here's the Obama endoresment ad from 2006:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBE77hRRkVc

The Giannoulias family was involved with Obama as far back as his first state senate campaign in 1996. It has been long rumored here in Chicago that Obama obtained a sweetheart deal on his first town home here in Chicago - which he could not have afforded otherwise - and guess who the financing came from for that house? We've been told it was Broadway Bank, the Giannoulias bank. Now, this sets up a scenario where the Giannoulias family helps Obama with his campaign finances and gets him deeper in their pocket with his sweetheart mortgage deal (for the first home he owned that he could not afford) - all in exchange for quid pro quo to be determined later.

    (5) One favor political Chicago claims Obama did for the Giannoulias family was in 2006 when, out of the blue, 29 year old Alexi Giannoulias, with no experience, and without ever having voted before, decides to run for State Treasurer of Illinois. Also out of the blue, Barack Obama endorses Alexi Giannoulias for State Treasurer. This was a SHOCK to everyone in Chicago - and Giannoulias would have never become State Treasurer without Obama's help. In political circles here, it has always been believed that this endorsement was bought years ago with that sweetheart mortgage deal Broadway Bank arranged for Obama to buy his town house."

So, idk, but maybe 07rescue wasnt totally out there?  Who knows, but the youtube video DOES verify at least Obama's backing of the Giannoulias guy.  Don't know about the rest of the story, but I'm a keep digging.........

Lions and tigers and bears, OH MY!!!!

"The Wall Street Journal recently reported that last summer, Illinois Senator Barack Obama told officials in the Teamsters union that he favored ending the Independent Review Board (IRB) that was created in 1989 by the federal government to rid the union of organized crime. Tommy Vietor, a spokesman for Obama, confirmed the story, saying that the candidate believed that the IRB had "run its course" because "organized crime influence in the union has drastically declined." The Teamsters subsequently endorsed Obama for president, in late February.

Labor leaders have made plausible arguments for shutting down the IRB, but a Chicago politician should be extremely wary of acceding to them. If there is continuing mob influence in the Teamsters, it is probably centered in the Chicago area. And in the last decade, the Teamsters in Chicago have shown little enthusiasm for rooting out corruption in their ranks. As a veteran Chicago politician surrounded by a veteran Chicago campaign staff, Obama had to have known this--and that makes his warm words to the Teamsters all the more disturbing.

All of this may be new information for people who don't live in Chicago, but it can't have been unknown to Obama and the Chicagoans who run his campaign. Stier's resignation and the IRB investigation, and the charges of corruption and organized crime have been covered over the years by Chicago Tribune reporter Stephen Franklin and other local journalists. Yet the taint of corruption and of ties to organized crime seemed not to ruffle Obama and his campaign. According to the Journal report, the Obama campaign brokered the candidate's promise to end the IRB with John Coli, the Chicago-area chairman of Joint Council 25, whom Stier identified in his report as one of the people responsible for shutting down his investigation. (Obama's Federal Election Commission records also show a hefty contribution to his senatorial and presidential races from the same Richard Simon who hatched the Vegas scheme to undercut local union workers and who, according to Stier, has mob ties.)"

And then we wonder why Obama wants to do away with secret ballot voting for the union workers................
