Depends on where we are in the Bay Area CA.

Anywhere from $2.44 to $2.75 a gal.

We just bought gas for $2.45

On election day we were still in the $2.75 range--amazing there is so much discrepancy in a 200 mile radius.

Although, I know we are higher in CA because of environmental laws. They have to change out the reconsituting production line for our winter and summer gasolines. The cost goes up. But I'm not going to complain because our smog is much less now than years ago. Can actually drive through the LA basin and see the mountains--in the 60s it was just brown soup! 

Mpls & Surrounding Suburbs It is $1.91 -1.99

Wow, sure varies from state to state.

In Massachusetts it's around 2.10 or so.  Some are under 2.00.

Rhode Island, 2.23 with cash, 2.43 with a credit card.  I'm going to Cincinnati!

Western CT is at $2.27 as of yesterday, but righ over the state line here in NY we're at $2.39

Rural western North Carolina: $2.29. This is down from a high of $4.99 immediately following Ike. Many of our gas stations were without gas for a couple of weeks then. We had one local station investigated for price gouging (our governor set up a price gouging task force after Katrina). In addition to the price gouging, this particular station also added water to the gas! Several cars broke down within minutes of leaving the station and some never made it out of the lot! The average cost of repairs caused by the diluted gas was around $1,000. Sheesh--how greedy do you have to be to charge that much AND fiddle with the product?!?!?!

I hear you, Mary-Lou. One of the biggest reason for increases at the grocery store was ("they" said) the high price of petroleum for gas and plastic much of our food is packaged in. OK, petroleum has come down but prices are STILL going up. Not understanding, but I can't cut back much more...

The food won't go down til someone yells in the gov't.  Pressure got put on the gov't about gas prices.  Untils someone puts pressure on the grocery industry there will ne no change today.

Range in our area, near Annapolis, MD, is $1.95 to $1.99 for regular.

$2.39 gallon here in Chicago and I thought that was cheap!
