    Obama, says

I did not know my aunt was here illegally...

Lets see, she visited him in Chicago, he made room for her to see him sworn in as Senator, and have met a few other times.  She lost her request for political asylum when a Judge ruled she was not at risk in Kenya and order her deported.  Her Nephew was a Civil Rights attorney, a politician, a U S Senator, a community organizer working with immigants, but she never asked for advise or help.  Now says, follow the law, deport her.

Obama must be the most clueless man alive, he never heard Wright, never knew Ayers background, only knew Edward Said as an educator, or Khalidi, or, you get the picture.  I don't know if I want a President that is that so uninformed.  Or when it is to his advantage, a friend or aunt or grandmother or mentor ends up under the bus.

    Ladysuz

What part of factcheck did I miss, was it a Hit Piece by thay far right wing Vanity Fair that made up the story that the brother lives is shack (CNN speak small house) with Mother and extended family.  Or the lady that runs the dispenasry wishes Obama would help his brother.  Or is it the dollar a month that was not disputed.

Has anyone heard how Obama's grandmother is doing?  Seems like she's dropped of the planet.

Kudos to George the Brother of Obama!  He's not asking for higher taxes to take care of him.  He's not asking for a handout.

    Ladysuz,

According to this article in the LA Times http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-ticket26-2008oct26,0,7529787.story , A member of Obama's transition team has not only written a draft inauguration speech for Obama, but has published it, and the measuring for drapes comment, which is an oldie, and has been around for years, was met with boos, not derisive laughter.

George isn't begging his brother for money, but since Obama feels so strongly about people who are doing well spreading the wealth around, shouldn't this millionaire be volunteering to help his twentysomething half brother get a good start in life?  Maybe some money for education, or seed money to start a business?  Even if it was framed as a loan that could be repaid to Obama, or paid forward to someone that George has the opportunity to help in the future, the man needs to live his convictions before he imposes them on the American people.

What I am saying is that Obama, who is usually an eloquent speaker, especially when delivering a carefully crafted speech, is once again stooping to the same mocking, bullying behavior that he used against Hillary.  I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now.  I just don't like bullies period.

For a man who seems determined to FORCE a large number of Americans to "spread the wealth around" to strangers, he isn't willing to share his wealth, even with close family members.  He needs to live his convictions before he imposes them on the rest of us.

"Maybe Obama is helping him and they're keeping it a private family matter."

This must be a State secret that's how quiet that is.

Anyway, "I am my brother's keeper" is not doing well with churchgoers.

and the polls are showing the same today with religious voters

Ladysuz, you say that some one working for Hillary is who wrote about the inauguration speech.  Please keep in mind that the article on Factcheck.com was written by CNN and The New York Times.  Now talk about who writes what!!!!!  CNN and NYT has been so far up Obama's butt they can see daylight through his nostrils.

How many times has someone asked you how you are doing and you reply "I'm just fine".  We all do that, We don't know what context these reporters were asking questions of George, but we do know what context they will write articles.

Everyone's version of "being raised well and living well" is relative to what they are accustomed to and how those around them compare. In Kenya, to have ANY $ and a shack IS doing well compared to how most of them live around him.

The point is Obama has this "do as I say, don't worry about what I do" attitude.  He wants to "re-distribute", "spread the wealth", what ever his catch phrase of the day is, but I can guarantee he wont spread ONE DIME of his own money!

Besides, if you write articles in a negative light about him, he'll throw you off his plane!  I guess those reporters should be thankful the plane wasn't in the air at the time!

If that ain't the pot calling the kettle black!  Someone said that they thought McCain was a womanizer..that there were more than his ex and Cindy in his life.  Well, I'll be doggone!  I don't know how many women McCain had, but there are sure a lot of women coming out saying they had affairs with Bill Clinton.  And one for 12 years.  But that was okay because it was HIS personal life.  How time changes one's thinking.

See ladysuz, that is why I like you.  You state your position, provide backup research, and all done respectfully.

We have to have different opinions and different views or else it would all be boring.

A preacher was telling us one night that he had been married for 60 years.  He said when people asked him how they did it he told them "we had our share of disagreements.  We found out that if we both agreed on everything, then one of us wasn't needed."  He said that is what has kept his marriage fresh and exciting all these years.

I welcome the different opinions, beliefs, etc.  I am just glad it is all civil on this thread!

We had 4 busloads of NYC McCain/Palin volunteers leaving for PA GOTV work right afterward, both Saturday and Sunday, and as we marched to the bus through midtown Manhattan we were CHEERED by New Yorkers all the way there. That is in ultra Liberal New York City! Too many of us know Obama all too well, and even many liberal Democrats are supporting McCain because of his moral fiber and character.

Here is a brief video clip of our gathering on Sunday morning to give John McCain a good send off from NYC after his SNL appearance.

Hi, Just popping in. I was wondering, before I started reading today's post, how Obama and his Follywood supporters are going to redistribute their wealth? and why haven't they done it voluntarily already? since that is what they are so hell bent on forcing everyone else to do. Same goes for Pelosi and the rest of her ilk. I wish I could have access to their 2009 tax returns. Just wondering.......

    Hey Ladies,

Here are 2 interesting videos showing Obama speaking in his own words regarding his energy plans, and how he is going to bankrupt the coal industry deliberately.

YouTube - BIG BROTHER Obama's wants Government "Price Signals" "Change Your Behavior"

YouTube - SHOCK Audio Unearthed OBAMA TELLS SAN FRANCISCO HE WILL BANKRUPT THE COAL INDUSTRY

And this is the man that people in the United States of America are going to vote for??

Well, not me, and not my husband and children.

    07Rescue, thanks for the videos.

RIV54, I'll take Follywood's money.  They probably have it hidden somewhere.  Under their mattresses?

I read a comment someone posted on a forum.  They made sense and I had to laugh.

He admits Obama is intelligent, but has a memory problem.  He talked about how Obama listened to his minister for almost 20 years but cannot remember one anti-American rant.  He says he can't remember what he did in the Illinois Senate, nor can he remember much of his past.  And people who are voting for him want to trust him with their life?  It's true.  We have not learned much about Obama's past.  We know how many times he voted "present" and how many times he made a mistake and pushed the wrong button.  We know he had some strange friends who were not friends.  But, where are his friends?  We know which universities he attended, but that's about it.  Only he can release his records.  What's he hiding?  We know he did drugs, so that shouldn't be the reason.  All of the world knows that.

    What we do know:

    1.  He's a darned good speaker.

    2.  He's smart.

    3.  He's got a law degree

    4.  He was a community organizer (have you seen the houses [slums] in his district?).

    5.  He has a wife and two adorable young daughters.

    6.  He bought a $1.6 million dollar house which was worth more..he got a deal.

    7.  He did a bonehead thing..he bought property from Rezko's wife.

    8.  He's had some nefarious characters in his life, but.......

    9.  We know he wants to "spread the wealth around."

    10. We know he's for abortion PLUS late term abortion.

11.He was against handguns in D. C. before he was for it (Supreme Court reversed).

12.He was against FISA before he was for it.

I'm just thinking..how in the world did we get this far with this candidate..someone we do not know.

    Rescue,

That was a fun video.  I wish I was there but I see the coats and hats on everyone already.  I'm still in my summer clothes here.  That SNL skit was great, especially when Cindy showed up showcasing the FeinGold.  That was really funny.

The line at the bottom reads: Be careful what you wish for.

The more I read the more nightmares and memories I have about being a child trying to escape communism.  This election is making me nuts.  I can't wait 'til is over.

I am so angry at the MSM.  This is one reason.  I will blame them for over half of this mess when the election is over.  They have pampered, powdered and diapered Obama's A$$ and have smeared Palin, McCain, Cindy McCain....they have said and done horrible things.  And here, CNN is SUPPOSED to be neutral.  I've seen and heard about this before, but I just "witnessed" it again on YouTube and I'm furious.  As far as I know they STILL have never apologized to Palin for this.  And this Drew Griffin fella is an idiot.  He knew exactly what he was doing!  I looked at her face when he said that horrible quote that was not written BY the National Review.

CNN Interview with Sarah Palin part 2

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_EYp70Z2Do&feature=related

Governor, you've been mocked in the press.  The press has been pretty hard on you, the democrats have been pretty hard on you, but also some conservatives have been pretty hard on you as well.  Uh, the National Review had a story saying that, "I can't tell if Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, or all of the above." She says, "Who wrote that one?"  Drew Griffin says, "That was written in the National Review, but I don't have the author."  Palin then says, "I'd like to talk to that person."  Griffin then says, "But they were talking about the fact that you're experience as governor is not getting out.  Do you fell trapped in this campaign that your message is not getting out, and if so who do you blame? "

And here is Newt Gringrich mad as heck.  Thank God we have Fox News!

Come on over election night~~~I'm cooking!
What's a good Republican menu? I'm sure we'd enjoy the Democrats' menu, too~~~ since we are all so kind, fair-minded, gracious, generous and respectful!!! Wink

I might have some nice non-judgmental Democrats join us, as a bi-partisan gesture. People I know don't really care much about political affiliations; they truly try to work for the good of all mankind.

McCain Now Wants Permanent Cap Gains Cut

    Email Share

    October 31, 2008 4:35 PM

ABC News' Teddy Davis, Arnab Datta, and Rigel Anderson Report:

John McCain altered his tax plan Friday, saying for the first time that he would like to slash capital gains taxes in half on a permanent basis -- not just for the next two years.

"Look," McCain told CNBC's Larry Kudlow, "I'm at 7.5 percent, I'd like to keep it permanently at 7.5 percent."

    Watch it here.

Odalys, you know communism firsthand. Now pray tell: what (on earth) does communism have to do with Obama? Can you really not tell dictatorship from democracy? To equate Obama with Cuba is outright silly.

I am willing to bet, Castro did not lead a revolution saying I am going to establish a cruel repressive dictatorship.  He drew support by saying he will end the rule of the rich, he would divide the wealth of the few and give it to the common man.  The dictatorship began as his stewardship of "wealth of the people".  A strong central government that took on the task of providing all things for the people.   It is sort of the slippery slope type thing.

Well, I can tell you this: I was born and raised in a country that has been under socialist rule for years. And guess what? People have a choice to go to a private doctor (and pay out-of-pocket, or maybe be covered by their private medical insurance policies) or to the public health system and pay zero. Top-notch cancer treatments are free for everyone. Civil liberties are as strong, if not stronger, than in the US. And "socialism" is not a curse word; it is just a viable, democratic way to govern a country.

And how does this relate to Obama? Well, it doesn't! Because Obama is still quite to the right of that kind of socialism.
