    Shirley,

Nothing really to see about Texas.  We're bright red.  Dazzling red, as a matter of fact.  I just did a map and changed the colors of States that should go to McCain.  He wins at 274.  But we need Fl and Ohio for that to happen.  He doesn't need N.H. or PA on my map. So he needs to stop wasting any time there, if he is.

Kennedy made a remark about going to a State and had never seen so many people come out to see him, and he lost the State.  So one never knows.  I hope the same happens in CO.  We need them, badly.

Nancy, had you got in touch with ACORN, you could have voted here too.  Another missed opportunity.

I know, I know I'm not supposed to go over <--------------------------------.  I usually just skim, but this made me quite angry and I said my peace.  I doubt they read it or if they do they'll not respond.  There is just so much name calling I can take!

It's hard for me to believe that some women get so freaked out about the word vagina. I wonder if they also have a problem saying the words period or menstruate out loud.  I'd rather hang out with the intellectual elite than climb into the abyss of ignorance. Being called names by people like that means nothing.

Amy, all I'm going to say about you is that you seem to have bigoted ideas.  Vagina is not a "nasty" word. We are not freaked out by the word "vagina."  In the way you use it it is truly sexist, disgusting and offensive toward women.  Need anymore adjectives?

Amy, stop being so immature.  Do you hate women?

On the republican thread we are not racist.  I'm tired, very tired, of you saying that.  What exactly did someone on the republican thread say that made you think they wouldn't know racisim if it smacked them in the face?  That was a hateful remark!

I just participated in a straw vote on AOL for Oct. 24 - 31..  Here's the results...McCain 60% and Obama 38%.  What's that all about?  I read some of the comments and they were very pro McCain.

Ok Shirley, you won the the troll award.  You get the honor.  I was going to crown you after the election, but you might as well accept it now.  Why do you read over there?  They do more harm for their candidate then we can in 113 pages.  Just reading that tripe will make people think about the kind of people who are supporting Obama.  Just take it from whence it comes.

Cam and I voted today,  Great day, one that we did vote, and two Cam felt great, we voted, ate lunch in old fashion diner, and did a little shopping.  There were no lines in my Red State, no hawkers either.

I have laid off posting very much. I realize that typing and erasing where they can stick their 'stupid racist' remark, will not advance any political discourse.

I will try to politly converse tonight.

Awww, IBC, it's so good to hear that you and ESPECIALLY Cam had a great day.  I'm sure you and she were so glad to get out and about.  And having lunch out was surely a treat.  Will continue to keep you and Cam in my thoughts and prayers.

OMG Shirley, I read that post too.  Now, I have only read some of their posts once before, posted, got "nasty blasted" left and vowed to not honor <--------------------with a "view" count.  But tonight I got bored and spent about 5 min over <--------------------- and read O4P post.  It reminded me why I had vowed to never add to their "view" count!

Here is the saddest thing, I have been reading a whole bunch of non-political threads all night, where women suffering with this horrible disease post questions looking for help or advice or just an ear and guess who seems to "show up" on their threads and speak UGLY, MEAN, HATEFUL, NASTY?!?!?!  That O4P Amy girl!!!!!!!!!  She is so full of hatred that it is sad!

It is one thing to post mean things on her own thread or even the "controversial" threads, but for her to got to threads where people are looking for comfort and her to blast them is just WRONG!!!!!

I am going to say a LONG prayer for her tonight, that God would remove some of her mean spirit!

Shirley, you should quit reading over there.  I'm a democrat and I quit reading it.  I am getting very disgusted at the nastiness that is going on.  Alot of people think Obama has this election in the bag.  We all know I'm an Obama supporter but I won't believe it til the votes are cast.  They are relying on alot of young peoples votes and I personally worry about our youth.  I have 3 young people in my house that can vote.  My daughter and DIL said they didn't know who they wanted to vote for so I got on them to watch the debates to learn about the candidates.  Aren't you proud of me and not just telling them to vote for who I want!  Then my DIL said well I'll just ask Bryan who I should vote for (that is her husband) and I had to explain that this is her vote not his.  She can tell him anything she wants when she walks out of the booth but ultimately no one can tell you who to vote for.  I pretty much have forced them to watch some politcal shoes and debates and if you want to know I'll tell you who they chose and what made them decide the way they did.

Bottom line Obama is relying on these young people showing up and if they don't he just might not pull it off.  So in my opinion it is anyone's race until it's over!

LuAnn, you know I love you.  I usually just skim over posts there.  But when, once again, Amy was spewing her vitriol about us here on the repub thread I couldn't stop myself.  Yes, I'm passionate.  We're not perfect over here, but I believe we're fair.

I have gotten some responses from them..Amy..ignore the troll...Laura,she doesn't want to interact with you and you're close to attacking Amy...Nana...I enjoy the posts over here except for ShirleyHughes...and someone else (I think).  That's okay.  I told Laura to report me to the mods if she thinks I'm attacking Amy.  I feel every woman on the repub thread is being attacked and we should be able to defend ourselves.  I don't want people thinking that we're racist or that we can't mention body parts or menstrual cycles.  So immature.

And, Moody, I have seen Amy be downright ignorant in how she "helps" other women and she's supposed to be a psychologist.  I have seen women who are having personal problems and was surprised at her answers.  So, I know how she is.

Someone over there wondered what I'd be doing after the elections..I'll be back on the bitch, moan and groan thread and the I can't get it together thread.

No, after this election I'll try extremely hard not to mention Obam or McCain..depending who wins.

Oh, Tito the Builder is on.  I'm going to listen to it.  The poor guy just gave the media heck because they weren't asking questions why they don't report more on Obama.  So, we have Tito the Builder.

If anyone believes this BS is just plain stupid!  This makes me furious.  Joe says he has custody of his son and he and his ex get along just fine.  No reason for a background check!  I hope someone is prosecuted.  This woman is a BIG campaign donor to Obama.  She contributed the maximim..$2500!

Columbus Dispatch : Checks on 'Joe' more extensive than first acknowledged

    http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2008/10/29/joe30.html?sid=101

A state agency has revealed that its checks of computer systems for potential information on "Joe the Plumber" were more extensive than it first acknowledged.

Helen Jones-Kelley, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, disclosed today that computer inquiries on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher were not restricted to a child-support system.

The agency also checked Wurzelbacher in its computer systems to determine whether he was receiving welfare assistance or owed unemployment compensation taxes, she wrote.

Jones-Kelley made the revelations in a letter to Ohio Senate President Bill M. Harris, R-Ashland, who demanded answers on why state officials checked out Wurzelbacher.

Harris called the multiple records checks "questionable" and said he awaits more answers. "It's kind of like Big Brother is looking in your pocket," he said.

If state employees run checks on every person listed in newspaper stories as buying a business, "it must take a lot of people a lot of time to run these checks," he said. "Where do you draw the line?"

The checks were run after the news media reported that Wurzelbacher was considering buying a plumbing business with more than $250,000 in annual income, Jones-Kelley wrote.

"Given our understanding that Mr. Wurzelbacher had publicly indicated that he had the means to purchase a substantial business enterprise, ODJFS, consistent with past departmental practice, checked confidential databases ," she wrote.

"Not surprisingly, when a person behind in child support payments or receiving public assistance is receiving significant media attention which suggests that the person appears to have available financial resources, the Department risks justifiable criticism if it fails to take note and respond," Jones-Kelley wrote.

The results of the searches were not publicly released and remain confidential, she wrote. Wurzelbacher has said he is not involved in a child-support case and has not purchased any business.

Jones-Kelley wrote that the checks were "well-meaning," but misinterpreted amid the heated final weeks of a presidential election.

Wurzelbacher became a household name when Republican presidential hopeful John McCain frequently referred to "Joe the Plumber" during his Oct. 15 debate with Democrat nominee Barack Obama. The checks began the next day.

Wurzelbacher, who has endorsed and campaigned for McCain, had been caught on videotape challenging Obama about his tax proposals during a campaign visit to "Joe's" neighborhood in the Toledo suburb of Holland.

Republicans have painted the checks on Wurzelbacher as a politically motivated bid by Democrats to dig up dirt and discredit the McCain ally. The Obama campaign has said it has no ties to the checks and supports investigations.

The administration of Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland has said the information was not improperly shared and that there were no political motives behind the checks.

The Dispatch has uncovered four uses of state computer systems to access personal information on Wurzelbacher, including the child-support check authorized by Jones-Kelley.

She said on Monday that her department frequently runs checks for any unpaid child support obligations "when someone is thrust quickly into the public spotlight."

Republican legislators have challenged Jones-Kelley's reason for checking on Wurzelbacher as "frightening" and flimsy.

Jones-Kelly also has denied any connections between the computer checks on Wurzelbacher and her support for Obama. She donated the maximum $2,500 this year to the Obama campaign.

Ohio Inspector General Thomas P. Charles is investigating whether the child-support check on Wurzelbacher was legal.

    Thank you Shirley

What got me in the article I linked/posted was the tuition, Michelle's  'we are you' speech, of just paying off student loan, from sell of books.  No loan noted on any disclosure forms as required by law well before royaties from books.

OK how about I am my sister's keeper.  That does not apply to any other family member, Obama's feisty aunt living in handicap rundown housing project in Boston.  His uncle Omar evicted.  Though both live in poverty, his aunt Zeituni gave 256 dollars to Obama's campaign.  Maybe, the NY Housing Authority should investigate her finances to see how she can donate money while on assistance. or better yet, the millionaire Obama's could give a helping hand.

You make some good points, IBC.

As far as his poor relatives, why doesn't he spread his wealth and help them?  I heard Hannity say some time back that Obama's brother who's in Kenya (I think) lived on something like $1,00 a month.  Hannity said over and over if he could find out his address he'd send him $1000.  I haven't heard Hannity talk about Obama's brother later...half brother.

Very interesting.  This is part of an article from the L.A. Times

    http://www.latimes.com/news/columnists/la-oe-goldberg28-2008oct28,0,2061669.column

Much has been made of Obama's comment to "Joe the Plumber" that things are better when we "spread the wealth around." The Obama campaign, with the usual willing accomplices, has rebuffed charges of "socialism" or "radicalism" with the usual eye-rolling.

But Obama's words that day in Ohio were perfectly consistent with his past statements.

A just-unearthed 2001 interview with Obama on Chicago public radio reveals as much. Then a law school instructor and state legislator, Obama offered an eloquent indictment of the Warren court for not being radical enough. While the court rightly gave blacks traditional rights, argued Obama, the "tragedy" was that "the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth." Unfortunately, according to Obama, "it didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers and the Constitution."

Officially, Obama says he is not advocating single-payer healthcare. That would seem too un-moderate. But in 2003, Obama told the AFL-CIO that "I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer universal healthcare program. ... And that's what I'd like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to back the Senate, and we have to take back the House."

Bumpy it will be, I assume if the worst happens and we lose the checks and balance between the two branches, life will still go on.  We may end up with a military that builds submarines with screen doors, but the sun still rises and daffodils still bloom.

They always say there is that one defining moment in time that changes an entire election around.  I think that moment was Joe, the plumber.  Then Barney Frank comes out with glee in his heart about raising taxes for everyone, but not right away.  Isn't he special.  Then on top of that, saying the first order of business will be cutting back a 1/4 on defense spending with 2 wars on.  Brilliant move Barney.

Then the stupid dems start talking about ending 401K plans, and in the background is Pelosi, trying to spend money no one has, and what we have is a future peek of a total disaster in the making for us all if the dems get control of the White house and both houses of Congress.

Normally, in an election year, one would think that they wouldn't be so open about skewering us, but they seem to think they can say whatever they like and we'll still vote for them.

Rosemary:  Skewering us? Really?  How about the fact that the Gross National Debt is at a 50+ year high?  The national debt is over 10 trillion dollars?  How about on this, the 2011 day since Bush declared "mission accomplished" in Iraq we are still there and it has cost us over 9 billion dollars to date..... that's MY definisition of disaster.  I am not posting this to provoke or incite anyone, just stating the reality of the mess we are in.

Re:  401K plans?????  Mine is already half gone.
