Positive Obama thread

Huffington Post is reporting that republican Colin Powell will endorse Barack Obama. This doesn't come as a huge surprise to me because McCain's recent erratic behavior would make him perhaps a scarier commander in chief than Bush is. At least Bush seems to know he doesn't know much but McCain thinks being a POW made him an expert on all things military (including getting a D from veterans groups on how much he supports them when Obama got a

Well...another banner day on Wall St.!!! The dow...down over 700 points!!! Are you kidding me!! The Republicans should be doing the right thing and saying, ya know what, we throw in the towel all the way around, we're doing more harm than good, Barack wins!! Forget about this BS of pulling out of individual states, pull out of the whole freakin thing and lets go on with the business of getting our country back to where we citizens can enjoy our life again!! This having to wait the additional few weeks here is ridiculous considering what is going on around us. I am looking forward to tonight. I bet on Monday when the dow was up the troll was probably hoping (against hope) that it would stay up at least thru today. Yeah..no go. I'm sure he's going to focus on the past, as he always does and the war, as he always does. He is down in flames already. Someone throw a bucket of water on him and lets move on.
O4P...I have started spreading your idea of raising the flag again once President Obama is in. People love the idea!!! I have a feeling we are going to be seeing a SEA of Posiive Red, White & Blue again!!! Under the flag, I'm going to try and find another flag that says "Guess who's coming to dinner!" or maybe "guess who's STAYING for dinner!"
:-)
Obama '08...it's almost here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
That's GREAT little-G-everyone I've talked to loves it too. I just have to find someone to hang the holder for the flag.
-
Good News! Work excused me from the Marketing event. Whew! I really am looking forward to the debates - all though I'm a little nervous. My DH - the undecided, wanted to know if I was going to watch them. WHAT? Yep, he plans on watching Soprano reruns in the other room. At least I have the bedroom!
Amy: I knew you would come up with the right answer.
Denisa: Hi to you. I loved going to that site.
LuAnn: I don't know what to tell you. I'm so emotional about this election. More than I have been ever before. I guess I'm commenting on things that Obama and McCain are doing. I think it's all awful. Sometimes I get so disgusted, I turn the TV off. I have to tell ya though, I have alot of good friends over there -------------------->. Sometimes I have had to pull away from both political threads, on the other hand, this is where Im getting information because Im driving about all day at work and don't know whats going on.
Cool about Colin Powell endorsing Obama.
PIP: So was the outcome of your election good?
LittleG: Its the little things that get to me. Like McCain saying "not that one."
Good Night all.
-
Cherryl - I think the movie "W" is a combination of humor, tragedy, and biography. The tragedy part is what kills me - tragedy barely begins to describe his presidency.
Denisa - I loved the Palin as President link.
So, to all my liberal hippie friends, Little G, LuAnnH, Nicki, Amy, Laura, PIP, OMO, denisa, Cherryl (sorry - I know I am leaving a few names out) I have my "lucky" Obama shirt on again (I may wear it out before November 4th!) and am settling in for the fun that will ensue in one hour and three minutes! It's fun to know that we and so many millions are together in spirit tonight...
-
I am going to miss my ghost hunters tonight to watch the debates and I don't normally miss those for anything
-
luann- I'm really emotional about this election too, more so than I ever have been because sometimes I vote against a presidential candidate, but this time I am voting whole-heartedly for Obama.
-
woohhoo here we go debate no 3 ... i hope bob sheffer brings up bill ayers straight up and the camera stays on mccain's face while barack gives him his answer...
tempers and emotions are really high every where .... wow.
-
How do you know when McCain is lying.... his lips are moving. He's amazing at twisting the facts and his poor me Congressman Lewis hurt my feelings, repudiate that.....he reminds me of clients in couples therapy who would misinterpret the words of their spouse- like a one partner saying the roast is dry and the other hearing, you're a lousy cook and I don't appreciate anything you do.
-
Amy,It is amazing how he is twisting everyting Obama is saying. I cannot watch anymore of this. Wake me when it's over!!!!!
Cherryl
PS Amy I like your new signature.

Question: Would "Joe the Plumber" overturn Roe v Wade?
just askin...
-
wow, barack is doing an excellent job. i am sure joe the plumber is very proud of him.
-
What world does McCain live in? Who on this board can get health insurance for $5,400 for a year????? I know I am a person that cannot get insurance unless I am on medicare or in a group policy with no gap in insurance. Basically with stage IV cancer I am UNINSURABLE!!!!
I wish McCain would talk to LuAnn the single mother that needs help to save her life so she can raise her children. I would give him more than an earful on what I need to survive in this world!
-
An Joe the plumber wouldn't over turn roe vs wade because his one night stand in a bar probably had an abortion and he was happy she did it. Don't get me wrong I am pro life but that is my choice not yours. UGH!!!!! I need my xanax!
-
McCain is like an angry bull, snorting, sniffing, raring to go...what a nightmare
-
LuAnn,
My premiums are nearly $9,000/year. If I were taxed on this, added to my salary, that $5K would be a drop in the bucket. McCain does not live in the real world. He doesn't have a clue.

By JM's standards, "eloquence" is the new "dangerous"...who knew?
-
I can't wait to see the after shows for the comments on who they felt won this one. I know who did in my mind but we will see. I probably am going to regret it but had to put my two cents in on the other thread and probably will really need my xanax when that is done
-
Does JM think that Sarah's child has autism? He keeps mentioning it and her at the same tim
-
Ok, looks like if McCain wins all kinds of money will go into research to help sarah palins child but what about research to save women like me who have children that need their mother to live through this dang gone disease!!!!
Oh yeah, I don't count because I am honest (was hard working) average joe. Except I wasn't a plumber so he didn't talk to me.
-
I know her child has down syndrome if I remember correctly. I also called yelled at on the other thread for saying McCain looks like an angry old man. They are taking offense to the word "old". I personally think 72 is old. I wish I could live to the ripe old age of 72
-
My dad is 72, and he isn't offended by the word "old". He embraces it, in fact. lol
-
Is it my imagination or is McCain getting mean, condescending, shaming and just downright ugly? Wow, Obama is looking superhuman next to McCain. I give the debate to Obama, yea!!
-
Notice how BO is the only one who ever uttered the words "middle class," yet again?
-
i do not think mccain made any friends with independent women on abortion and roe v wade this evening
palin a role model for all women, puleez!
-
I am watching cnn and they had about 20 people in Columbus OH they were polling and they asked how many people that were undecided made a decision based on tonights debate. 3 people said this debate made up thier mind for obama.....guess mccain still didn't win a debate
-
who are the remaining "un-decideds"? what on earth are they waiting to hear before they make a decision?
I think I will pretend to be undecided in 2012 and see how much attention I can get from the media (NOT!)
-
I just talked to a good friend of mine that is the strongest repub I have ever met and I didn't want to get into a disagreement with him about politics. It turns out he is going to vote dem this time, he said this is the first time in about 20 or more years that he has went dem because he thinks McCain is just too far off base. He also went back to his age, he is afraid something will happen and Palin will be left to be president and how scary is that.
-
Good news from your friend, LuAnn... I think a lot of people feel that way.
I could NOT believe John McCain making finger quotes and saying "health of the mother" in such a contemptuous way! (Obama had explained that he voted against a late-term abortion ban in Illinois because it didn't make an exception for the life or health of the mother.)
-
McCain lost. Flat out. All you had to do was look at his body language and facial expressions--grimacing, heavy sighs, shaking hands. Angry, aggressive.
Which man would you want to sit down with foreign heads of state? Not him!
Barak kicked major butt tonight. The pundits really wanted to say it (at least the PBS ones) but they were too nice.
I voted today. Man, did I feel empowered!
And no, Palin is NOT my role model. No way, no how.
I really liked how, when pressed about Palin's ability as president, Obama said, "Let the voters decide." He didn't have to go there.
