Anne,
Believe me, I'm glad your not catchy. For some things I could be worse then any socialist. But only if they do it my way. My health care plan would end medicare and medicaid and everyone would be covered, and it would not need to be a government-run-it-into-the-ground program and it would be paid for by the money that is saved from ending those two programs and by our monthy payments. Clinton had a good start, but she didn't put an end to medicare and medicaid.
If I were going to tax the rich, believe me, it wouldn't start at only $250K for businesses. I wouldn't be breaking the backs of small business owners. This stuff is not rocket science.
And I have no associations with known communists, terrorists, felons, and anti-American pastors, and I do not do hand bumps...the closest friendship I have to any known and proud socialists, is Anne Shirley, and I can be forgiven for that but will have to spend a lot of time explaining it, so write me in! But I would never deny knowing you.

Paulette,
I know, too many excuses coming from someone who wants to be our next President, too many low-life associations. Too many lies, too many denouncements of everyone he knows.
Obama is taunting McCain to bring up Ayers in the next debate. He already has a very well crafted reply at the ready. It will be cute. Probably nothing on the line of not having the pay grade to answer a question about abortion though.
We're not alone in our thinking:

Rosemary, good article. It's really scary to know that someone would USE corrupt or angry, hate America (GD America) men to climb the ladder.
If John McCain sat in David Duke's livingroom to kick off his political career...NEED I SAY MORE?
-
Pansy, please stay. Palin talked about her "thick skin"...she pinched the leftover "baby fat" from her pregnancy and said people think this is baby fat. She said it was thick skin. C'mon girl! You can do it. So you posted something for which you wished you had not. Haven't we all? You are human with human feelings and, if you're like some of us over -------------------------------> (that means here..lol) we're a bit scared of a man we know absolutely nothing about except who he hung around with and that he threw his spiritual leader under the bus when it was politically correct to do so. And his voting record. OH, HIS VOTING RECORD!
Now, I didn't read that post, but wish you'd send it to me a PM so I can satisfy my curiosity. I mean, poor Sarah was almost stoned and crucified but I sure didn't see many people standing up for her. Especially those who claim they are a feminist.

This guy must hold the record for how many times he registered. And look who's behind it.
http://www.nypost.com/seven/10102008/news/politics/1_voter__72_registrations_132965.htm
Look, it's the same people on the board for Acorn that's on the board that the Obama campaign has paid to do some political work for them. Gee, what a coincidence. Small world huh?

From your link, Rosemary.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/10/obamas_character_still_questio.html
"This was patently absurd. Racism is treating people differently and invidiously on the basis of race. Had any white presidential candidate had a close 20-year association with a white preacher overtly spreading race hatred from the pulpit, that candidate would have been not just universally denounced and deemed unfit for office but written out of polite society entirely."
We all agree that if McCain was in Duke's livingroom doing political business he'd be on the outside of Washington for sure.
Another name comes to my attention and it really makes me mad because our own repub party did not stand up for this man....Trent Lott. Anyone rememby why he resigned? Of course you do..over NOTHING! It saddened me to think our party let this happen, but Byrd who had connections to the KKK...well, who cares cuz he's a dem.

Obama's Magic
Presto, change-o!
By KIMBERLEY A. STRASSEL
- And now, America, we introduce the Great Obama! The world's most gifted political magician! A thing of wonder. A thing of awe. Just watch him defy politics, economics, even gravity! (And hold your applause until the end, please.)
To kick off our show tonight, Mr. Obama will give 95% of American working families a tax cut, even though 40% of Americans today don't pay income taxes! How can our star enact such mathemagic? How can he "cut" zero? Abracadabra! It's called a "refundable tax credit." It involves the federal government taking money from those who do pay taxes, and writing checks to those who don't. Yes, yes, in the real world this is known as "welfare," but please try not to ruin the show.
For his next trick, the Great Obama will jumpstart the economy, and he'll do it by raising taxes on the very businesses that are today adrift in a financial tsunami! That will include all those among the top 1% of taxpayers who are in fact small-business owners, and the nation's biggest employers who currently pay some of the highest corporate tax rates in the developed world. Mr. Obama will, with a flick of his fingers, show them how to create more jobs with less money. It's simple, really. He has a wand.
Next up, Mr. Obama will re-regulate the economy, with no ill effects whatsoever! You may have heard that for the past 40 years most politicians believed deregulation was good for the U.S. economy. You might have even heard that much of today's financial mess tracks to loose money policy, or Fannie and Freddie excesses. Our magician will show the fault was instead with our failure to clamp down on innovation and risk-taking, and will fix this with new, all-encompassing rules. Presto!
Did someone in the audience just shout "Sarbanes Oxley?" Usher, can you remove that man? Thank you. Mr. Obama will now demonstrate how he gives Americans the "choice" of a "voluntary" government health plan, designed in such a way as to crowd out the private market and eliminate all other choice! Don't worry people: You won't have to join, until you do. Mr. Obama will follow this with a demonstration of how his plan will differ from our failing Medicare program. Oops, sorry, folks. The Great Obama just reminded me it is time for an intermission. Maybe we'll get to that marvel later.
We're back now. And just watch the Great Obama perform a feat never yet managed in all history. He will create that enormous new government health program, spend billions to transform our energy economy, provide financial assistance to former Soviet satellites, invest in infrastructure, increase education spending, provide job training assistance, and give 95% of Americans a tax (ahem) cut -- all without raising the deficit a single penny! And he'll do it in the middle of a financial crisis. And with falling tax revenues! Voila!
Moving along to a little ventriloquism. Study his mouth carefully, folks: It looks like he's saying "I'll stop the special interests," when in fact the words coming out are "Welcome to Washington, friends!" Wind and solar companies, ethanol makers, tort lawyers, unions, community organizers -- all are welcome to feed at the public trough and to request special favors. From now on "special interests" will only refer to universally despised, if utterly crucial, economic players. Say, oil companies. Hocus Pocus!
And for tonight's finale, the Great Obama will uphold America's "moral" obligation to "stop genocide" by abandoning Iraq! While teleported to the region, he will simultaneously convince Iranian leaders to peacefully abandon their nuclear pursuits (even as he does not sit down with them), fix Afghanistan with a strategy that does not resemble the Iraqi surge, and (drumroll!) pull Osama bin Laden out of his hat!
Tada!
You can clap now. (Applause. Cheers.) We'd like to thank a few people in the audience. Namely, Republican presidential nominee John McCain, who has so admirably restrained himself from running up on stage to debunk any of these illusions and spoil everyone's fun.
We know he's in a bit of a box, having initially blamed today's financial crisis on corporate "greed," and thus made it that much harder to call for a corporate tax cut, or warn against excessive regulation. Still, there were some pretty big openings up here this evening, and he let them alone! We'd also like to thank Mr. McCain for keeping all the focus on himself these past weeks. It has helped the Great Obama to just get on with the show.
As for that show, we'd love to invite you all back for next week's performance, when the Great Obama will thrill with new, amazing exploits. He will respect your Second Amendment rights even as he regulates firearms! He will renegotiate Nafta, even as he supports free trade! He will ....
There was also a political cartoon in the article but I chose to remove it for fear it would offend the Obamamaniacs.
Rosemary - I do not think with the MSM the way it is that it is wise for McCain at this point to bring up Ayers or Wright. As the above article suggests - there is enough in Obama's policies to have a field day with.
But this is a funny video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTN3mShDZVI
-
Shirley,
I AM MAD, TOO!!
Suz,
Thanks for that article!! It made me chuckle.
The thing that disturbs me most about all this is that my dh and his friend, Mike, who we visited in Cocoa Beach, they were talking and Mike said that IF Obama is elected, then WE deserve what we get because we elected him! NOT TRUE! I think that we who vote against Obama should not have to be punished, too... That really scares me!!
-
This happened yesterday when M/P were on their rally in Wisconsin.
http://www.gopusa.com/theloft/?p=796
Go to this article. First read it. LOL Scroll down and see the "angry man." Scroll down some more and see the black gentleman on YouTube who says the following (being a black man you can understand his statement "ass-whopping for supporting McCain):
Now, Senator, at the convention you asked us to fight for you..you asked that. I have to tell you I doubt anyone in this room as taken the ass-whooping that I have for supporting you and your causes. (People stand and cheer this man) Sir, I believe the next coming debate it is vital that you take it to Obama, that you hit him where it hits..something..softball. Sir, ACORN is out there. We have the good Rev Wright. We have Pflieger (sp). We have all of these shady characters that have surrounded him. We have corruption here in Wisconsin, and voting across the nation. I AM BEGGING YOU SIR, I'M BEGGING YOU. Take it to him.
-
Suz, the article was good. What's maddening about all of this crap is "that one" (LOL) has not been held accountable for his relationships. Why? The liberal MSM.
-
BTW, I saw John Stossel on Fox today. He's doing a show on 20/20, I think, about voters. Yes, we want everyone to vote. However, just because people are signing up college KIDS, or the homeless or whomever WITH NO KNOWLEDGE who the candidates are or what they stand for...I'm like John Stossel...I'd rather they not vote. They showed pictures of Biden and people didn't know who he was..some thought McCain. Palin...oh, I can't remember her name. WHAT!?
So, how do all of you feel about "everyone should vote?" It scares me to death that people are going to the polls and know NOTHING of what or who they are voting for. They know nothing about either candidate except one's old and one can talk well...IF THAT.
I must be getting too old!

Ohio secretary of state must verify registrations
By TERRY KINNEY
Associated Press
October 10, 2008CINCINNATI (AP) -- A federal judge on Thursday ordered Ohio's top elections official to verify the identity of newly registered voters by matching them with other government documents.
U.S. District Judge George C. Smith in Columbus ruled that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner must perform verification required by the Help America Vote Act. That includes matching new registrants' information against information in databases maintained by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles or the Social Security Administration.
The order was the result of a lawsuit the Ohio Republican Party filed against Brunner, a Democrat.
"Plaintiffs assert, and the court agrees, that it is hard to imagine a public interest more compelling than safeguarding the legitimacy of the election of the president of the United States," Smith wrote in his ruling.
Brunner also was ordered to establish a process by which Ohio's 88 county election boards can access information generated by the checks.
Residents registering to vote must provide their name, address, date of birth and either their driver's license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number.
Brunner has said the state matches registration information against data in the Bureau of Motor Vehicles system and the Social Security database. But she also has said federal law doesn't say what should be done if a mismatch is discovered, and it is up to counties to check the system for flagged registrations and investigate if warranted.
An after-hours call seeking Brunner's comment on the ruling was not immediately returned Thursday.
Republicans, who have been at odds frequently with Brunner, hailed the ruling.
"For some reason, Jennifer Brunner does not want these new registrations checked," said Ohio Republican Party Deputy Chairman Kevin DeWine. "Her refusal to comply with federal law raises serious concerns about her ability to objectively oversee this election."
Separately Thursday, the sheriff in Greene County in southwest Ohio requested registration cards and address change forms for all 302 people who registered to vote and cast ballots during the state's weeklong same-day voting window, which ended Monday.
Sheriff Gene Fischer, a Republican, told elections officials he had been flooded with telephone calls from people concerned about possible fraud.
Greene County is home to five colleges or universities -- Wright State, Central State, Wilberforce and Cedarville universities and Antioch College. Most of its students lean Democratic.
County Prosecutor Stephen Haller, who is representing Fischer, said the records request was not politically motivated. Haller is a former law partner of Mike DeWine, a former U.S. senator and chairman of the Ohio campaign of Republican presidential nominee John McCain.
McCain's rival, Democrat Barack Obama, launched a major push to attract new voters during the window, which was the subject of an unsuccessful challenge by the Ohio Republican Party.
Lyn McCoy, the county's deputy elections director, said the records request was being processed. Names, telephone numbers and Social Security numbers will be blackened out before the documents are release, she said.

Shirley - you are so right. Obama can do anything. McCain needs to start naming names in this financial crisis and start now. Dodd and his "Friends of Angelo" mortgage deal from Countrywide, Barney Frank and Maxine Waters resisting regulations on Freddie and Fannie, the Sandlers who sold their S & L that specialized in subprime mortgages to Wachovia (big donors to liberal causes) that caused the downfall of Wachovia, etc..... He is being too nice and he doesn't have to get personal. Obama voted 97% of the time with his party! Maxine Waters would like to nationalize the oil companies for heavens sake! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUaY3LhJ-IQ If voting 90% of the time with the Republicans makes McCain look bad what does 97% do? The MSM is not reporting any of this - just think of the field day they would have if these people were Republicans - McCain has to start bringing this out and tell people to Google it to check if it is true or not - you can't believe some of the fact checking sites any more. Heck with YouTube most everything you can see and hear coming from the horses mouth!

ACORN Fraud In Ohio -- Election In Jeopardy
-
Shirley - I had heard on the radio the other day that homeless people were being bused to register and vote on the same day in Ohio. I think Tuesday may have been the last day you could do this. Some of the people were interviewed and they said that they were told who to vote for (Obama). Some were hesitant because they were afraid of being called for jury duty - they were told not to worry because they were given "temporary addresses" and no one would be able to find them later. Like I said I am all for allowing everyone who is eligible to exercise their right to vote - ONCE. No one should be told who to vote for - sounds like some of the third world countries that people like Jimmy Carter get all riled up about - supervising them so that the election is fair. Someone should come here and monitor the election because it is starting to look anything but FAIR! They are investigating voter registrations here in Wisconsin too. Several people registered with the same handwriting, etc..
The black guy that got up and spoke at the McCain rally here in Wisconsin is a black conservative talk show host here in Milwaukee. He has taken a lot of flak for his support of McCain. For those of you over there <----------------- you don't see much diversity at McCain rallies not because he does not have supporters - they are afraid of the way you (yes YOU) will treat them. Look what you have done on this board. This guy is brave enough to speak up - his wife actually begged him not to do it because she fears for him.
This is from his website:

You shall reap what you sow...
In 2006, the Democrats had a strategy and worked it. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid brilliantly manipulated the desire of the populace for change. The phrase "it can't get worse" was on the lips of many Americans.
The Dems won in a landslide.
With the Leftist takeover of both the House and Senate, and Democrats firmly ensconced in leadership of all major committees, I have only one question:
Are you better off today than you were two years ago?
Are you prepared to trust Barack Obama to change things again?
NObama!
-
Suz, I tried to retrieve that video from YouTube. It isn't available there. No wonder..the man is scared.
On YouTube somewhere there is a woman recruiter for ACORN who admits she tells people to vote for Obama. She doesn't sound very intelligent..not being a racist either. I don't know if I posted it or not, but I'll try to find it LATER. I need to get off of here.

Listen to this idiot, Waters, saying this crap over a year ago. No vote for the surge. THE SURGE HAS WORKED LIKE McCAIN SAID! Can you tell I'm angry as hell? What an idiot! And that IS a personal attack on Maxine Waters the woman who said FANNIE AND FREDDIE WERE DOING JUST FINE...Wrong on Fannie and Freddie and WRONG on the Surge!

Suz,
Besides Obama daring him to bring up Ayers in the next debate, so is everyone else who can lay hands on a microphone. Whether or not it's a smart move on his part is unknown because Palin has brought it up which made some news shows come out about it only to discount the Obama/Ayers association. What needs to come out is what the $100 mil was spent on. I know it didn't buy school books from what Kurtz was saying.
The real shame of all this, Stanley Kurtz was not the only reporter to look over the CAC papers, yet he's the only one to write about all that went on between Obama and Ayers. Which part of this is worse, you work with a terrorist for years, break bread with the guy, or lying about the relationship? I say both.
-
Hard hitting McCain Ad............finally......
-
If Maxine Waters did nationalize the oil companies then she'd find out that every drill site has a lawsuit pending on them. Then what will she do? Hmmm, Exxon, Chevron, you can have your companies back. They are all so full of it. They did nothing but block legislation for new drilling. They forgot to let Maxine in on the scheme.
-
Susie - that is a good ad. Needs to push this more in his speeches too.
Rosemary - I agree, there is more to the relationship than Obama is letting on - why else would you lie about it? He says that Ayers did those things when he was 8 years old. That is true but Ayers has never said he was sorry, in fact he has said he wished he had done more bombing. Obama studied political science at Columbia and went to Harvard Law - you can't tell me he did not learn about William Ayers and his wife and their anti-war activities. My problem with pushing this line of attack is that the MSM is in the Obama campaigns back pocket so they will not pick up the story. They will not investigate this. They will just twist it to make McCain look bad for bringing it up. The MSM keeps bringing up that he is a professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago and prominent in the education field (no wonder education in this country sucks!). They don't mention that the board they served on was supposed to improve Chicago schools. They don't tell you how much money they spent and how they got NO results. Ayers idea of education reform is to train children to grow up to be revolutionaries! I would not be surprised if BO gets elected that he does not name Ayers as Secretary of Education.

Talk about anger...did you see Waters pointing her finger and losing her train of thought and popping out SOCIALIZING instead of nationalizing...LOL! Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!
-
Rosemary - I don't think Maxine Waters knows what she is talking about - obviously. She also thought Freddie and Fannie were in good shape LOL.
The RNC needs to put out an ad letting the general public know why the oil companies are not drilling on land they already have leases on. Better yet, the oil companies should put out an ad. There would probably be a backlash by the people and maybe some of these lawsuits would get thrown out. Gasoline here is now $2.99 a gallon - woo hoo - still not going to drive more becaue of it though - have decreased my driving by quite a bit - stick it to OPEC!
-
This is why she doesn't know what she's talking about:
Accusations of corruption
Waters was named in 2005[10] and 2006[11] as one of the "most corrupt" members of congress by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. They said, "Her ethics issues arise from her exercise of this power to financially benefit her daughter, husband and son."[12] Citizens for Ethics says this violates House ethics rules for family members' financial gains. CREW relates that the six "most corrupt" members of Congress to not make the most recent list, of whom Waters is one, "are not included this year, not because their conduct is no longer problematic, but because we have discovered no new information to add to last year's report.[12] Out of the twenty-seven members of Congress named as "most corrupt" during Waters' two years on the list, she remains one of only five to both remain serving in Congress and to not have been the formal target of a federal investigation.
----------------------
We can't make this stuff up. I will never be able to vote for a democrat again for the rest of my days. Never.

I have a friend who started sending me something about how important it was to vote this year..yada yada...and she knew darn well that I'm a republican. I responded..to make a long story short..that she would be sorry she EVER started this...LOL Anyway, today I got an email from her..the email came from someone else to her...about the Alaska Independence Party and how Sarah was involved. I showed her!!!! LOL I typed every word Sarah said when she welcomed their convention to Fairfield. I also gave her AGAIN factcheck.org which is mostly bipartisan. I bet she's sick of me by now. Sent her stupid, idiot Water's comment about oil. This friend said WE ALL JUST SHOULD STAY HOME AND NOT VOTE!! I told her I was voting..but I do wish she WOULD stay home cuz she doesn't kinow crap. And these are the type of voters that are going to the voting booth. I told her she should check out her "emails" for truthfulness. I told her it takes hours. I'm thinking she's going to finally stop sending me stuff, but I'll keep sending her stuff cuz she opened the door and until she closes it I'll continue..although she may delete them. LOL
Now I'll have to go read what the corrup Waters is up to and send that to her too.
