I have to see the Dentist again tomorrow ( Monday ) I have a tooth that I think is breaking off. I am so tired of my teeth costing a fortune. Don't know what I would have done if Michael had lost his job and we didn't have coverage at all.

So thankful he is back to work.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hey ladies!  Going to Chicago (with a sick son in tow) to do the final "stuff" for my Dad's estate.  It's going to be emotional-I'm hiring a place to empty it out.  I wish I knew where my camera was so I could take pics (sad face here!).

Afterwards, I am going to do some retail therapy and take Daniel to the Disney Store.  I can't give up my amazing coupon.  Saving money in this economy is a smart choice, right?  ha ha.

MaryLou - On Friday while eating lunch I heard a loud noise and sure enough cracked a molar.  I think in half.  It's the same molar I've been trying to save since chemo.  I had already ordered the crown and was waiting for an opportunity to get to the dentist.  Geeze, I sure hope the molar is not completely cracked, maybe it can be saved.  Are you in pain?  Or, did you have a root canal?  I know what you mean about teeth costing a fortune.  We have chemo to thank for it.

Deb - have a safe trip.  Daniel is sick?  Retail therapy is the best therapy.  Have fun at the Disney store.

Margerie - I hope your mom is feeling better today.

They pulled 2 teeth, just cost to much to save, so far in the back it didn't matter. I never had trouble with my teeth till now....Soon I will have only one tooth in my head.

    hahahaha!  Cute one, ML!

Spent waaaaay too much at Disney!  I don't know what it is-I think it's because my parents couldn't buy us much when I was younger, I just LOVE buying Daniel toys.

I have to go to bed, we have an IEP meeting for Daniel tomorrow.  Wish me luck-this is the first one we've had because I've asked for it.  I'm asking for more services for Daniel.  Scary!!!

BTW-nothing weirder than seeing the house you grew up in suddenly be completely empty......there has ALWAYS been furniture in it (my parents had the furniture delivered there before we moved in when I was 4).  Love and prayers, Deb

Did you guys watch the debate?  That was the stiffest audience I've ever seen.  I guess they all needed a drink after sitting there so stiff for over an hour.

I heard the people were told not to show anything on their faces, not to react to anything. I did, however, think they didn't show too much respect when the candidates went around greeting them after the debate.

Who will you all vote for?

    Myself

I believe we really need a change. I believe a man with a diverse background could do much more to repair our country as a whole. I just can't sit by and watch McCain for 4 more years of this. I pray there is some hope for the babies of the world today. What are they being set up for?

Mary Lou - have you heard some people are comparing him to the anti-Christ?   Here is what's been going around and was posted on another thread:

This will make you re-think: A Trivia question in Sunday School:

How long is the beast allowed to have authority in Revelations?

Revelations Chapter 13 tells us it is 42 months, and you know what that is.

    Almoste a four-year term of a Presidency.

All I can say is 'Lord, Have mercy on us!'

According to the The Book of Revelations the anti-Christ is:  The anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40's, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal..... the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything.

    Do we recognize this description??

MaryLou -  No. You didn't open up a can of worms.  I deleted the above post because after I read it I din't think it would be a good idea to leave it on an open forum.  I don't mind talking politics with you all.  I respect each and every one of you and your opinions.

I've been a Hilary supporter for many years.  She has done a lot for womens rights.  I think the democrats made a big mistake by not selecting her. Anyway, I was undecided until a couple days ago and yesterday's debate solidified my choice.  I really don't like either candidate or their selections for VP.  So, I have decided to vote for the candidate who I feel will cause less damage...McCain.  Obama scares me.  He goes around and around the issues without giving a straight answer.  But his comments about sitting down with third world dictators/terrorists for a dialog is not only scary but out right dangerous.  Usually, Communists play with peoples fears by offering change and making many promises in order to get elected.  Once elected, they turn on the country.   I don't think the next 4 years will be of the same.  Too much has happened and finally Americans are paying more attention to the govt.  JMO.

Oh, I'm so glad I didn't. Embarassed Thanks Ody for your honest answer. I respect you for that.

My jaw seems to be much better today, I only had to take my pain meds one time. I will be taking Sebastian to the firemen's parade tomorrow if it doesn't rain. I will post pictures if we do.....

All of you have a good night.

Hey ladies!  There seems to be an end in sight for the pain I always feel!!!!  My MRI results apparantly showed enough back/spine/vertebrae issues that I will be given a cortisone steroid epidural injection.  I'm a bit freaked out, but am so excited for the potential of a pain-free life.  I don't remeber what it felt like to feel good, and the possibility of feeling that way again is amazing.

Marg-do you have to pay for your blog page?

Anna-I'm so glad you are "back."

Ody-I freaked out at what you wrote about Obama.  Scary stuff.

Anyone watch SNL?  Anne Hathaway was hilarious as Mary Poppins, and I LOVED the Lawrence Welk skit.  I watched it about 20 times before deleting it from the DVR.

    Love and prayers, Deb

MaryLou - hope you are feeling better.

Deb - those injections are very effective.  Oops... I didn't mean to scare anyone.  Are you referring to the post above or the one I deleted?

Anna - Are you going to be in the states on election day?  Are you allowed to cast an absentee ballot from over sees?  Don't mean to be nosy, just curious how this is handled.

Deb- blogs are completely free.  I have been a bad girl and have not blogged in quite awhile....

Mom had her first chemo yesterday- carboplatin and taxol.  She had a bad reaction to the tester dose, so they gave her more benadryl and slowed the drip.  She left her home at 8:30 and didn't get home until 5:30.  Good grief.  Today she was tired and a little woozy.  SHe had to get her neulasta shot this afternoon.  I read on one of the forums here that you can take Claritin (OTC) for 5 days and they don't know why- but it can eliminate the bone pain from the neulasta.  Too bad they didn't know that 3 years ago.  Mom asked the nurse and she sad yes this was true.  Not sure why they don't just tell everyone ahead of time.  I made sure she had some Claritin beforehand.

Hope you back finds relief Deb!

Odalys- are you getting blown around out there? LOL we are still in the 90's and I am ready for it to cool off.  Hot and sweaty I tell ya......

No, I'm back in Virginia and will be here on election day. I'm heading up north to spend a week with daughter, soninlaw and little 4 month-old grandson on Sunday. Yay! So excited! Looking forward to seeing some pretty leaves. It's still hot here in Virginia, not sticky but hot.

Yes that is a light house in the trees, and I took the picture from what is called the light house bridge over Claytor Lake. The light house has only been there about 2 years. I never knew why they named the bridge the light house bridge. But now it has one so seems to fit.

The colors didn't show to well in this picture.

I will be out of town this week end, so everyone have a great week end.

MaryLou - Sebastian is adorable.  I love the pic of him in the back of the pick up truck drinking form his big boy cup.  Priceless!!!!!!!  The leaves are turning colors already...Ahhhhhh.  I sure wish I could see them.  We only get to see green leaves all year round.  Have a great weekend.

Oh my goodness, Sebastian is supposed to still be a baby.  He's such a BIG BOY!!!!  Too cute!  The pics of the scenery are awesome.  You guys must love living in such beautiful surroundings.

Daniel and Daddy are going out of town all day so I can write a book.  Yes, a BOOK!!!  Annie (HeatherBLocklear) has encouraged me, and I am READY.  She didn't know that has been my dream for years and years.  I would have been a writer if I didn't become a band director.  Wish me luck, and tell me if it okay to use some of your stories if I need them!  haha!!! No, really.....Wink

    Love and prayers, Deb

Hello my sisters.  So much has been happening to all of you in the last few weeks and you continue to marvel and inspire me.  Watching parents start very difficult and heart wrenching journeys, dental owies, ongoing pain, financial challenges, etc. you all find beautiful words and pictures to ease the pain, hysterical images to make us laugh (or at least smile), and thoughts of wisdom and support.  What an amazing group of women!   Like Ody, I fell into a mean funk following the foot.  I realize that breaking a foot is not a big deal compared to what we have already gone through, but it meant that I could not be in the healing water every day.  I didn't realize how powerful my water aerobics is to my well being.  In addition, I started having some increased chest pains and fatigue.  Had a Cardiolite test last week and it showed that my left ventricle was not getting enough blood, so I will have an angiogram this Thursday.  Doc said best case is he finds a blockage and can put in a stent(s).  He estimates that outcome at 50/50.  Otherwise, the cause is something different and we will have to do other tests, i.e. heart biopsy to determine problem.

In the last 3 years there has been a significant change in chemo protocol for women with HER-2.  They no longer give Adriamyacin if they are going to give Herceptin.  The combination of the two is just too hard on the heart.  Still think of Herceptin as my silver bullet, but could do without the heart failure.  BTW, Living Proof is the name of the movie that tells the story of Herceptin and stars Harry Connick, Jr.  It will show next Saturday, Oct 18, on the Lifetime Channel.

Sisters, my thoughts and love are always with you, even if I am not online.

    Nancy

ODY, I would love to meet all of you in Miami, but can't on Nov 5.  If I am allowed to travel, I will be in the Med during November.  If you choose another time, let me know.

Oh Nancy - I was worried about you.  Now I'm really worried.  The heart condition sounds very serious.  I will be thinking of you on Thursday and praying all goes well. Rest assured I will rally the troops to send prayers your way and watch over you.  We will be there with you in spirit and prayer.  God bless you.

Come on sisters lets all join forces to pray and support Nancy while she undergoes the angiogram on Thursday.

    Love and hugs,
