Great pics! You both look dazzling!
I swim 3xwk, and needed new suits: I scored big time: 3, $85 suits for 20-25 bucks each, and then last week found 2 Longitudes, (very good suits) for SEVEN bucks at TJMAXX!!! I'm set for the next year and a half!
Now I've just got to figure out what to take to Newport and Boston. Wish I had a magic wand and looked 30 lbs slimmer. Haven't seen my old roomie, who we're staying with, for a LONG time and, let's just say: there's more of me to love now than then.
-
Dotti, LOL, you are not alone! I'll bet there is more to your roomie, too.
The important thing is that you get to see one another. Yay! And, good score with those swimsuits. Why can I never find deals like that?
Oh, nosurrender, THANKS for the picture! Man, you both look great. That dress on Beth looks so cute. Jose did a good job, after all. Can't wait for a report from our girl, herself.
Now, ladies, I am going to buy some opaque tights to wear with my new shoes. Is microfiber the best thing for silkiness under slacks? I hate that bind-y feeling of cotton tights under clothing. Need the silkiest I can get.
-
I'm exhausted, but I will post pics soon. The dress, hair, makeup, accessories and shoes all worked.
My last guests (finally) leave my house tomorrow.
I was up till 1 am writing thank you cards already... if I put it off it will never get done... all thats left is to address all the envelopes.
The fashion of my day today is my most comfy pair of green sweats and a cute tee. No makeup, hair in a pony, and this is as good as its gonna get.
-
You both look so beautiful in the picture from your engagement party!! Beth, what a smile!! And you both have great glowing bronzed skin!! So pretty!
Lexi
-
I should have pics in a few days-- here's one that a friend just sent to me
-
lex don't be fooled, the bronze skin is the airbrush tan... but as I said, it looks so real-- not fake or orange at all, and I highly recommend it.
I'll post lots of pics this week.
Mostly, I am so excited to start talking fall fashion. My favorite season!!!
-
Oh, that airbrush tan could fool anyone. It does look real. And you all look so happy.
Yes, hurry up and get back to earth. We all need advice.
I bought some clothes today. To go with my new shoes. No Louboutins but still very sexy IMO bootie heels. Black, fitted waist jacket, matching skirt but also another HUGE B&W houndstooth fitted skirt. Looks dynamite, or as close to dynamite as I'm ever gonna come. Sigh.
-
OPINIONS NEEDED.
If I am wearing my new black jacket and skirt, with the black heels, do I have to ALWAYS wear black hose (opaque or sheer) or can I do something a little different with color here? Okay, besides gray. I only know I won't do orange or red. LOL Any other suggestions that won't look too funky?
Yes, I will wear a colored bag, too. In all likelihood. Can't have too much matchy matchy.
-
Okay-- I have a mini album on my facebook page of pics from the party-- I'm way too busy to load them into photobucket now... If you PM me your email I can send you the album from facebook.
Tina- is the skirt short? if you're wearing it out right now, in this LOVELY weather I would go for sheer nude colored hose. I hate see through black sheer hose. It's so dated.
Now, for fall fashion, thick black opaque tights, a bright colored bag, and a matching colored neck scarf or bold colored necklace and you are hot to trot.
OR, I love the black jacket, skirt, black tights, and colored heels... now there's an outfit with a matching bag that I would rock in a heartbeat.
I really think I am going to keeo doing the airbrush tan. I might even look into buying one. If I'm spending $50 every other week, it might be cheaper to own one, and then I can spray my friends.
I am almost back to reality. I've finished all the thank you cards, but my living room floor is littered with gifts.
I feel so good about my destination small wedding... there is no way I could do anything like this last weekend again. It's exhausting.
I can't wait to buy my first pair of boots, and my first sweater for the season. I haven't even thought about it much, but I am so excited. My office will be finished in 4 weeks, and then I'll have to shop for some more work clothes. (yay).

let's see if htat link works
-
Ooooooooooh. I did not know sheer black hose was dated.
Good thing I have you girls. But, I thought sheer, nude hose was dated.
Yes, skirts are short. Maybe I will put stuff on and model for you. DH is home today and perhaps he could take a pic or two.
I did buy a fuschia sweater to wear under the jacket. I wonder if I could get away with my bright pink leather handbag to go with it for the fall season? It's a really nice, deep pink, not bc pink. What do you think?
The idea of red shoes is lovely, but I have time to wear only one pair of new shoes. lol Hardly go anywhwere enough to have bought the ones I did. Did you see that SP got off the plane in Alaska wearing bright red high heels? She will be setting more than eyeglass fashions for a while. (No, I am not meaning to start a political discussion. There are enough of those on these boards. Red or Blue, Sarah is a style maker. It will be interesting to see how her own style evolves over time. She *is* a knockout.)
Beth, do I have to sign up for a facebook account to see your photos? I am dying to peek.
I am laughing at the thought of you hosing down all your friends.
-
no click the link in the post above yours and you should be able to see them
-
Nah, it just takes me to a page to sign in or join. I guess I will have to make up some identity and join if I want to see your pics.
-
I joined two weeks ago, and I'm so glad I did... it has a lot of neat groups-- tons of breast cancer groups... I've connected with 50 friends from when I grew up, and its really easy and fun to use....
hint hint. JOIN. lol
-
Okay, the link doesn't work but if you copy and paste in another browser window you can get the pics. Yay! I'm looking right now!
LOVE the inside of the tent, the tables, the flowers. All is beautiful. All you girls gorgeous, the guys handsome. Who are the people in "my future family?" If that's your MIL, you almost look like you could be related. Your own mom is so cute. Looks like a pixie.
-
I LOVE the pics Beth..you look so great
I can't believe I missed the party - I was waiting for it to arrive ;(
Check you mail soon.....
-
So speaking of fashion..wehad some cute summery outfits that Brett hadn't worn yet so we played dress up!
-
His baby acne is gone..thanks to California Baby calendula lotion...if you have problem skin or eczema it works wonders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought brett some burberry booties but they don't make his size that he will be in the winter so I had to return them
I of course got great Burberry rain booties for myself...total waste of money but I love them
-
Aaaaawwwwww, so cute it almost makes you want one yourself. Almost.
Way to go on the Burberries, M.
-
um, how come you didn't post a pic of the Burberry boots??? I saw some cute kate spade rain boots in the blommies catalogue....
-
Okay fashionista's.... I couldn't resist. Tina, I hope you're not mad.
Girls, Tina is hiding some serious talent... take a look at this cuff she made for me~!!!!
Sorry for the weird angle, it's hard to hold the camera and get my arm in at the same time....
Tina, I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT... and I loved the pics of the other one you showed me.
-
You know when you get dressed, and you just know you look good? I'm totally having one of those moments. I have on the cutest top, compliments of Target (um, did any of you guys get the Target fall catalogue? I thought it was from Bloomies!).
I'm so excited to rock the shoes I wore to my engagement party... There are a million things I can't wait to wear them with.
I got the vicotrias secret lookbook for fall. Lots of black and white and tuxedo inspired workwear with feminine touches of lace... Love it all. Black and white- my dream colors. If M. would let me, my ENTIRE house would be all white walls with black furniture. For now I have to settle for black and white furniture, artwork, with touches of green throughout, then red in the fall/winter. But, oh, to live in a black and white wardrobe. It gives you so much freedom with bags, accessories and shoes.
love these:
the laceup oxford pump in black and white--- these have my name all over them
Dereon
Lace-up oxford pump

M, those are seriously cute. Do they slip on and off easily? I mean without bending over and wrestling with getting them on? I am looking for some low boots for the cold weather that I can use to tromp through the backyard with on my way to work. (150 feet to another building in back on my house) I don't have a bathroom out there, so I am back and forth, back and forth, all day long for lunch, bathroom, nap, etc. It gets old after a while. I like to just slip into clogs and go but in bad weather I need something to keep my feet dry.
I love the oxford pumps but I, myself, would go for one sans platform. Have seen some really nice ones out there.
-
If I worked out back, I consider a porta potty! My grandmother called it a chamber pot!
-
Well, this is true confessions. I have sometimes used an old travel mug.
Any port in a storm.
-
LMAO.
-
They are really comfortable and do slip easily on and off!
-
Marisa- thank you sooo much! I am LMAO as I thumb through the book right now.
-
LOVED this entire piece... lots of pictures and great advice for every type of jeans and what to pair them with for fall... I love so many of these looks!
