Hello everyone,
I sent an afghan out yesterday.............but forgot to take a picture. I got home at 11:15 Monday night (spent a week taking care of DD in Georgia) and had to be on the road for noon Tuesday. Someone, please help me find my thinking cap
We do need some names for recipients.
I have a few rows completed on another afghan....I'll remember to take a pic before I mail this one out.
Again, thank you for help with the project.
-
I ran a tally of Afghans completed and mailed............... We have mailed 100 Afghans. DH was calculating the number of squares you have all lovingly made 100 Afghans x 42 squares each.............totals................4,200 squaresMy heartfelt thanks go out to each and everyone for participating in this project.

Madison, where are you in Georgia? I am in Alpharetta...Maybe we can have lunch together one day...As far as the afghan squares go, what type of yarn are you all using a fingering weight or worsted weight? What size crochet needle and where so I send them again??? I am so forgetful........hugs.
Lucy

Hi Lucy, I can answer some of your questions. We use any type of yarn as long as it is washable. The squares are 7 x 9. There is no "specific" needle size as many of us crochet differently than the other. You can send them to Madison, Vickie, purpleMB or myself. Just let us know when you have some ready to go. We'd love to have you join us.
Madison - THANK YOU for coming up with this project. Without your original idea, we wouldn't be doing this at all.
I have one started but am working on a baby afghan as well. The baby shower is the 6th! Hello? I don't have even 1/4 of it done yet. This baby may get it when it's born.

Liz, simply gorgeous. I love the pink ribbon square.
I did evacuate with my squares and am working on an afghan in Georgia.
Hugs to all,
Madison

Thanks everyone,
Madison - my cousin Becky is making the ribbon ones. I'll send you and Vickie some as soon as I get more. She's not necessarily making them all "pink" though.
Lucy - I'll be waiting for your squares.
Right now, I'm working on my very first baby afghan. LOL I think this is going to be more of a "toddler" afghan. Oh well. The shower is Saturday - hmmmm not sure I'll have this finished by then. The nursery is in a farm theme. I'm making it striped in red, yellow and blue. We shall see how it turns out.
Hugs
-
Madison - Glad to hear you're safe!
Hi everyone. Sorry it has been so long since I've sent squares. I've been making prayer shawls for the shut-ins at my church. A small group of us have been trying to get 60 done by Christmas time. I have been making a few squares between each shawl and should have enough for a box pretty soon. I'll post when I have enough to see who needs them.
Hugs all,
Sue

Another bee-yoo-tee-ful afghan Liz!. I have 18 squares, I promise I will find a box this week and mail them out. I finished a baby afghan (yellow) a few weeks ago and lo and behold the receptionist at work then announces she is pregnant. I guess I know where that one is going. I will just have to go buy some more yarn and start a new one....LOL.
-
Madison - heard your hometown got hit hard - hope everything is OK. Post when you can.
Valerie
-
Liz... I love the pink ribbon squares! Your cousin is very talented. I have been making afghans for awhile but now I am going to go back and do some more squares. MB when I get a boxful I will send them to you for bordering if that's ok. You are all doing so well!!! Love, Pam

Madison - Hope things are looking better for you. I have a name for you. I met up with an old friend of mine and his wife of 22 years had bc back in 1989 when she was 34. She found out in 2001 it spread to her bones - she is now on permanent disability.
I will pm you her address if it is OK.
Thanks

Jackie, thank you so much. I was stitching one of your squares in an afghan during my lunch hour
