    Blue,

Your just going to have to rain on your own parade today.  Not mine.  I asked John to look at her months ago, not as a woman, but as the Gov. of Alaska, who is all for DRILLING, and he'd hit a home run if he met with her and looked at ANWR with her, and brought a few reporters with him, and then my after thought was she'd make a wonderful V.P. choice.  I wasn't even thinking of the woman aspect of it.  Think more like a man, what would he do?  Pick a drilling expert and a Governor.  This is my dream ticket.

Blue-say what you will, but you will not rain on this parade. Many of us on this thread have been cheering for Palin for months, thanks to Susie connecting us with her story. You are right, we are behind her just because she is a woman, although I would have loved Jindal too. What is wrong with wanting a woman for the GOP when it was okay for the dems? Could it be because you know this could keep Obama out of the white house? That is the point! Hurray for the new face of the Republican party, where us women now feel we have been heard! It is too bad the dems did not listen to their women. That will be their downfall.Better luck next time.

Blue --If you want to be ugly--keep it on the other threads............             She is the only one on either ticket that has executive experience and actually managed anything.  She is a bona-fide conservative and as the Obama campaign is quick to point out--definitely Pro-Life.   She unifies the Republican base more than any of the People under consideration with the exception of Pawlenty who was a damn boring speaker........... She shares many of McCains views on Ethics reform and has been a hawk on spending--not to mention drill here-drill now!

I personally find your statements very offensive and representative of all thats wrong with gender politics...........................

Hey my conservative friends- the landscape of the Republican Party is changing for a new generation.   Would a Palin/Jindal ticket in 2012 be a fantasy????? Against a Hillary/______ ticket.....

What great choices.   I wanna be around to see it !

Ladies, do you realize how difficult is has been for me NOT to be able to get on the puter and say yaaaa--HOOOOOOO!  I must calm down.  Dh owns the puter in the mornings.

You know what I like about Palin?  She's gorgeous!  LOL (Oprah cried her eyelashes off last night at Obama's speech..just heard on Fox..LOL)

Now, to my embarrassing confession....I slept until 11 AM.  Well, not exactly...my dd woke me up at 8 AM.  I stayed up VERY LATE!  So, I then called my db who lives in Texas.  It was 19 AM there and I woke him up!  I told him the news and he said, who's that..Palin?  I said she's the Governor of Alaska I've told you about.  And she's gorgeous.  He turns on his TV and said, yes she IS gorgeous!  LOL  He said he thought McCain would pick a woman...well her name rarely came up and McCain so smartly had everyone scrambling, and you all know the rest of the story.

The Maverick picks a Maverick....from Neil Cavuto.

I too heard so-and-so was eliminated in between waking up.  Then, I heard the news!  On Fox!  I'm a blubbering idiot!  I must calm down.

Susie, I was thinking the same thing this morning that Rosemary or Linda asked.  You were the one who mentioned Palin first, right?  You are one smart cookie.  Did you call McCain months ago and tell her?

Oh, now on Fox a woman who's dem has definitely made her mind up..she's voting for McCain since he pick his VP.  She liked her honesty, etc., etc.,..She feels Hillary has been treated very unfairly.

I too thought the first comment that came out of Obama's camp...mayor of a town that had 9,000 people..never mentioned she was Governor.  Perhaps they didn't know?  LOL

Linda, yes, I know you are the republican.  So am I.  However, I like to visit other threads.  I usually do not vote a straight ticket.  This year I am.  I'm sick and tired of Pelosi et al playing with our lives over energy.  Even IF oil prices dropped down to two digit numbers, we still need to be energy independant.  That has been my most RECENT gripe with the Pelosi regime!  Yell

Anneshirley, I thought the same thing as you..Palin running for prez.  However, I never thought of Palin and Hillary running!  That would be awesome!

Bue16, why would you be insulted?  McCain is risking losing this election by choosing a mostly unknown woman.  I think you're angry instead of insulted.  Obama should have chosen Hillary.  Just about every dem as agreed, then would say...but....Biden is......Your candidate hasn't done crap.  It is so funny when his followers are asked what are his accomplishments and they can't name one!  I heard this over and over again.  He's a great speaker..he energizes...he's the Messiah!  I have gotten so sick of saying they are watching history...an African American being possible chosen for prez.  I don't give a rats arse if he's black, green, blue or whatever color.  I care more about his character, judgment and experience.  As usual, your party's first response was....she was a mayor for a small town of 9000 in Alaska.  That's all they can say?  Why not, congratulations FIRST and then the put downs?  And Obama scares the pants off of me.

Rocktobermom, good question.  Why question Palin's experience who is running WITH the experienced one while on the other side the experienced one is running WITH the unexperienced one?  Did that make sense? LOL

Good for you, Rosemary!  Glad you were all over John about Palin.  You are THE ONE!  You convinced him. LOL  However, I did get an email asking my opinion.  Perhaps John listened to the American people or WOMEN!

    Can't wait for Pelosi's reaction.

Cavuto's going to have an interview with Palin next week in Minn.  Just heard him say that.  Yep, my TV is still on.

    Okay, now back to reading.

I long for the day when we'll see 4 women running.  Ok, we'll let one man in, I like Jindal too.

Every time someone brings up experience on TV, I have to laugh.  This is making the Obama people defend their candidate with his total lack of experience and bringing it to the forefront. But the funny part, they bring it up themselves.  She has no experience, they say,  then they have to gulp when they realize what they said.

Susie I could not agree with you more in response to Blue................the Democrats are worried..................she represents true Conservatism at its best...............5 children with the youngest having Down Syndrome..........how long is it going to take the Democrats to start criticizing her for not staying home when they are the party of women's right to work and equal rights..........how long will it be before they start she should have had an abortion..........and they are pro-CHOICE and she choose to keep her son............she is fantastic and a great speaker and I think for the first time deep in the bowels of the Democrat Party they are beginning to understand that they just may lose.............Shokk

    Shirley,

I was wondering where you were.  Of all the days to sleep in.  Whenever I write John, we're on first name basis, I'm always told to write again, so I do.

CNN just did a nice thing on Palin, telling us even more about her.  What I like is the natural gas aspect.  Natural gas is priced artificially high because we won't tap it, (Thank you for that Madam Pelosi), and my electric bill is suffering.  So hearing that Palin is on top of that also, is better than I hoped for.

Oh, and BTW, I'm tired of BO using the $5,000,000 middle income "joke" that McCain said at the Forum.

And, now Cavuto has a dem talking about all the homes McCain owns.  Cavuto is saying 17,000,000 people bought homes under Lucifer (Bush).  So, how many homes do the dems think one can own?  I don't think McCain "owns" these homes.  His wife does.  They file separately and that's how it's been since they've been married.  I wonder if McCain signed a prenuptuial agreement?

So much to read..ya'll post to fast.

Rosemary, I didn't go to bed until about 3 AM.  I need my sleep.  PLUS, I knew McCain was not supposed to make THE announcement until noon my time.  And, when I woke up I thought I was dreaming!

That was nice of CNN.  I'm watching Fox.

I wonder if Olberman is going to blow his top.  If anyone watches MSNBC..PUKE...please tell me.  Perhaps I'll be able to view it on YouTube.  Laughing

Shirley I understand that the McCain pr people are in the process of making a commercial depicting how he lived while a POW..........recreating his cell............I think that could be very effective.............and this is a free country and how many homes does Stephen Spielberg own or any number of wealthy Americans............Shokk

Shokk, the Obama bunch is tired of him playing the POW card.  Someone on the "other" thread said something about his PTSD....  However, I didn't read the entire "rant" because I know the decision that McCain made choosing Palin for VP has taken the air out of their balloons.

I need to get a couple of dozens signs to put in my yard.  Oh, I need one in my car.  I need a T-shirt.

Just hearing that John made his decision on Thursday.

I want to see what Mr. Independent, Lou Dobbs, has to say about our new Vice President.  You know it might be quite a keep sake to get McCain/Palin buttons.  They sell buttons at the store on John McCain.com also.

Hannity is on the radio talking with Rove about Palin now.  I forgot he was on.

Obama kinda apologized for his campaign having a hair trigger today on their response to the Palin pick.  Too late.  His resume' is still being compared to hers, which is great.

Wow you girls have been burning up the wires in the past two hours. I finally dragged myself outside on this beautiful day to finish putting some stucco on my house and you have all been blazing here. But I still had my trusty radio with me, listening to my pal Medved. Schokk, you called it! Guys were calling in complaining that she should have be staying home taking care of her children. Medved brought up the fact that no one told Biden to stay home and take care of his kids when his wife was killed. So they won't be able to use that argument.

Susie, the heck with lawn signs. I want to don an extra large McCain/Palin Tshirt and march around downtown Chicago! It will come down to me knees and hang on my new size 8 figure that I have worked so hard for, but I do not care how bad I look. I just want the Obamaniacs to see that Illinois is not just his state! I am still predicting  that if he wins this state, it will be very narrowly, and of course he will have all those folks in Roseland cemetary on his side.

You guys are all invited to come to Chicago for a victory party in November!

I just heard Palin say she has 13 years of experience in government.  Obama had 8 years as a State Senator and they still can't find any of his votes, and 143 days in the U.S. Senate.  Palin wins.
