When I first signed on here I wanted to be Tina but there was tons of them already so I used Tinairene, a combo of first and middle names.

I am now DragonladyTina because I am a dragonboater and felt like a change of names.

    Tina

I chose my name because my dog's name was leon and I had got him around Christmas time.  Noel spells leon backwards.......so I am noelleon.

When I first joined this site I picked newbie because I was and I need advice and support (still do). But lately, I noticed that a lot of other "newbies" were using that so I changed my name to puppyholic because that's what I am. I have 2 puppies and am always going online looking at the rescue sites and shelters looking for more! Can't help myself. They give me so much unconditional love and happiness in this trying time!

It's what my dad called me when I was growing up. He past away about 13 years ago and I can still hear him calling me Kayree.

I know mine doesn't sound very original but it does have meaning for me.  When I started chemo I cut my hair really short and dyed the tips bright pink.  My dh then bought me a pink ipod and inscribed it 'pretty in pink'.  And, pink has always been my favorite colour.

My avatar is the bear that was donated to our relay group by Boyds Bears. We gave them as gifts for donations over $50.  And isn't she pretty in pink too?

Boy, mine is boring.  I like seeing where people live, and wanted to let others know where I'm from.

This thread has been fun to read!

Debbie , thanks so much for starting this thread. I love hearing all the stories and seeing the pics of those precious furbabies. ADK , thanks so much for posting a larger pic of your adorable furbaby. I always wished I could see a bigger one. She is such a doll baby. I love how she is sitting in the plate , and has that look of "I'm to adorable to get mad at me"!lol And Traci , I love the markings of your cat. So beautiful.

And beergirl , so sorry for your loss. But what a lovey story. Its the simple things like that , that make a relationship special.xxx

OK , my screen name is what I nicknamed my precious Edwina Louise. She was my special kitty of 16yrs. I had to put her down 7-7-07. She was very special to me. And my avatar is because I LOVE piggies! They always bring a smile to my face. When I lived in TN.(shout out to Michele and Karen!) years ago , my mom was helping take care of some pigs and one was pregnant and went into labor one stormy , rainy night and ran into the woods. So me and my mom went with flashlights to find her. We found her , and her 13 little babies! She went into shock and ran. So we got a box and loaded up the squiling little babies and I stayed up all night feeding them with an eyedropper! Some how that started my love for piggies. We only lost one. And they were so much fun to watch grow up! Sorry for being so long winded. But I wanted to share. Oh , Michele , my family lives in McMinnville. About fifty miles south-east of you. I love Murfreesboro. I was visiting there for Easter , and my sister and I went to Murfreesboro to the old time pottery. We spent five hours shopping there , and I spent 400.00! Love that place! Hugs Melody

Deb, I hope your friend enjoys this area!  I'm a bit partial since I've lived here all my life.  I have a good friend who is on the Board of Directors for the youth orchestra.

Melody, I was shopping at OTP just last night!  It's a great place.  I've been through McMinnville several times.  Cute story about the piglets!

I look forward to reading more...

    Night all,

    Michele

My daughter's name is Aislin, which is Gaelic, or Irish and it means dream or vision-hence irishdreama, and I use the a on the end, because that's the first letter of my daughter's name. I also use this for all my email addresses. This is a great thread, I agree it gives us more insight as to personality.

I picked my name when I needed a campfire name for Girl Guides.  I liked to write and at that time my dreams were helping me put a story together.  So I was writing my dreams.... hence Dreamwriter.  There are different age groups and the younger they are the less able to say Dreamwriter.  So for Sparks (age 5-7) I am Dreamy.  For Brownies (age 7-9) I was Dream Owl, and for Guides and older Dreamwriter.  So if you call me Dream, Dreamer, Dreamy it is ok.

My avatar is the Red Panda, one of which was supposed to have been adopted in my name so that I would receive a certificate of adoption and my name would be on the board as a contributor.  The idea was a good one, but no one actually did it.  It was my 50th so they were looking for something special - I loved the idea.  They say the thought matters more than the gift... hahahah

Thanks for starting this, it is really fun. When I was growing up my older sister and I would pick on each other constantly.  It would always end up the same way, she would start by saying "Oh yeah, well I'm Miss World" I would then say "Oh yeah, well I'm Miss Universe", she would then say "Oh yeah, I'm Miss Infinity".  Now we all know that there is no such thing as Miss Infinity, so I would win!!  So now, to my friends and family, I'm Miss Universe or MU.  It is even my caringbridge blog site address.

    Great question!

I almost always use EASYQUILTS, because those are the kinds of quilts I make  EASY ones  I dont hae the talent or patience to do complex block, and am always looking for easy blocks that only LOOK complex...Things like the Disappearing Nine Patch, or theTurning Twenty quilts...I have learned that I can make up for my lack of complexity by  using great colors and fabrics.

It was fun to discover that Fons and Porter puts out a magazine called EASYQUILTS, featuring what else...easy quilts!

Started internet chat life as wishiwerent as in, wish i weren't where I was.  It was michigan in the coldest of feburary's with a ton of wet and did I mention COLD snow on the ground and more coming and I was disgusted with life and family and all and just wishiweren't here.  Meaning in my chair, in my home and in my life. Not that I wanted to end my life, but just wanted/wished for a different setting I think..... Hawaii, or somewhere!

Then we changed servers and couldn't get wishiwerent and had to change it to wishiwere.  Then another change and had to go with wishiwere and a #, and for some reason, picked 2. :)Tada!  Long sage, same reason.  Sometimes I feel like a nut, sometimes I don't :D

My blogsite is titled "The Prettiest Mess You'll Ever See". I forget who said it, but someone in my family said (while I was a wreck from wailing and gnashing my teeth for some unknown reason) "Isn't she the prettiest mess you've ever seen?"  It kindasorta made me realize that even though we may be a mess on the inside, we can still be the prettiest mess to everyone else!
