I'm wondering if anyone out there has had covid since being diagnosed? I managed to avoid it until my husband "brought" it home from work 5 days ago. I have been so careful since being diagnosed de novo in March of this year. Now I'm scared that this is somehow going to shorten my life expectancy. Feeling crappy and can't sleep... so I find myself here.

    justmle68,

I have not had COVID but I know that several of our stage IV members have. As far as I know Covid19 does not shorten or effect life expectancy in anyway with respect to mbc (unless you are already compromised). If you are vaccinated and do test positive at any point, follow your doctors advice. My own mo assured me that in the event I tested positive (several family members have had it), I’d deal with it but it was a separate issue from my mbc. I am not immune compromised.

Please speak with your own mo about your situation but as my late mother often said, “Don’t borrow trouble.” Take care.
